Did anyone get the fractal gear box from the fractal daily yet? If so, on what level was it?
I really hate how you can still get random weaps, I wish that on 30+ you should get a box instead of a RNG weap…

condition duration food needs to go

Seriously, this food is the most overpowered thing in the game. It’s what makes wvw and pve unbalanced.
For zergs and group fights in wvw the -40% condi duration is just way too good for everyone to have and makes condi cleanse almost redundant.

For solo roaming the +40% condi duration is so useful, every condi build uses it.

A lot of people complain condis are OP in solo roaming, and that condis get cleansed way too fast in zerg fights. solution? start with the removal of these +condi duration foods and see how it goes.

I think somethings wrong when entire builds are built around these foods….

thoughts?

A minor suggestion:

1) Instead of everyone starting with a keep really far from each other, why not have all the servers start relatively close to the middle.
The 3 spawn points should be on ships circling the centre of the map, so no server is ever closer to one keep or another.

2) Have all 3 keeps neutral at the start.

3) The harder monsters drop 1-2 supply, similar to dolyaks chance to drop 5.

Some of the effects:
-This will create more epic fights over who can cap it first.
-Then strategic manoeuvring or dodging to return to a keep after death during a siege.
-Roaming in enemy territory and node defence will be more balanced as you cannot get back to your bases any faster than your enemy can.
-Finally maybe a use for having PvE mobs inside a WvW arena, this could make things interesting.

Anet, please listen to this.

I was wondering if there is any possibility that he has minions under his command who wear heavy armor, and are something like a death/shadow knight-type class. I really enjoy the concept of a dark magic using, plate wearing warrior but I don’t know if that would make any sense within the GW universe.

Armor restrictions for professions is 100% purely mechanical and the only basis it holds in lore is that it’s “typical”

For example, Logan is clearly a guardian, but in Edge of Destiny he wears leather armor until the end where he becomes a Seraph captain.

So you can very well have a necromancer who prefers to wear leather or even metal armor (be it platemail or chainmail or other). But they wouldn’t some “shadowknight” – they’d just be necromancers in armor rather than robes.

The only downside to this is that it doesn’t reflect in the actual game.
I think it would be problematic if in some upcoming story Jennah wears heavy armor or Rytlock wears light armor, although it’s perfectly possible. Wouldn’t it be easier for anet to reflect the character in game with a fixed type of armor? Or is there,just like with logan, a turning point in a characters life in which they decide to stick to one type? I would find it rather odd if characters suddenly changed armor depending on the situation.

The point of a dervish was more towards personal buffing, while providing pbAoE (scythe attacks/instant enchant dmg)
As it is now, all profs have access to pbAoE attacks and personal buffing power, so I see no need to reintroduce a profession that has, arguably, been absorbed into all professions.

If you say it like that, it seems like we only need 1 profession, because the other professions can fulfill the same roles.

Having different professions mean more variety, and in their own way. There are a million ways anet can introduce a class with the same roles as the current ones, but with different mechanics. That’s the whole point of a class.

Anet has said in the past that if they were to introduce a new profession to the game, it would first be a heavy one. As dervishes and paragons are blend together into the guardian, I assume those are no longer an option. Would it be foolish to think that if we were to go back to elona, we would get a Mordant Crescent-like profession, because they will probably be the main story villains? Could be they don’t introduce a new profession at all with elona and cantha but that seems such a long time. thoughts?

So I was just reading some guild wars lore, when I suddenly stumbled upon Palawa Joko. I know he’s some kind of dark lord who rules over Elona. from the wiki page I’ve read that he is a Necromancer, but I was wondering if there is any possibility that he has minions under his command who wear heavy armor, and are something like a death/shadow knight-type class. To me, capes are the single most important attributes which separates heroes from average people.
I really think you guys are underestimating the appeal of wearing a cape in a game, and I’m sure a lot of people are agreeing with me….

For wvw definately go for a 0/30/20/0/20 terrorbuild. With master of terror, koi cakes and sigil of paralyzation you can go for 100% fear duration. That’s 5 seconds of fear if you chain reaper’s mark with doom in which you do 6k+ dmg. All while your enemy is cc’d. The new spectrall wall also benefits from this.

The only time you really want to go deep into spite is for the condi duration as a condimancer, but since the cap is 100% it’s rather useless as you benefit more from other trait lines.

In spvp where you can’t benefit from food and where you can’t get 100% fear duration, a burning build would be more suitable. Also since dhuumfire is single target it’s also more suitable for spvp.

Lifeblast can crit hard now.

Could you post a screenshot with that dmg in wvw/pve plz? I’ve hit 3-4k with it above 50% life force before but 7k seems so high. Would be awesome if it really does though

They should fix life siphon.. Seriously, with the trait making it 50% i still only siphon for like 30-40 hp

ye I don’t see the point of not adjusting this. I mean come on we get very thought out new traits and hard to balance skill effects, but we can’t get a little bit more healing? I can’t imagine anet thinking our current blood magic traitline is viable, else they don’t play the necro enough.

With Life force you’re restricted to Death Shroud which isn’t always a good choice. DS1 sucks for condi necro’s and DS2 feels clunky. Besides: vampiric rituals siphons for 10 health per enemy per second. That’s a max of 250 health per well for a grandmaster trait. 2 seconds of regeneration beat that. I just wonder why our other grandmaster traits are being updated while the ones that needed the most work, didn’t. typical anet I suppose.

In these supposed ‘internal’ patch notes, there was no sign of healing while in death shroud or increasing our laughable blood magic trait line. whether these patch notes are false or not, you guys should fix our healing capabilities as this is one of our biggest problems atm and would open a lot of build diversity. Please don’t be ignorant and give us a viable, sustaining necro. thank you
