Why is it everytime i see a post about wanting trinaty back its from an ex tank/ ex healer…
I was thinking the same thing. Some of my mates told me that they hate Guild Wars 2 because they don’t feel “important”. They don’t like the idea of playing without a mechanic that makes them different from other players.
On the OP: I don’t think trinity is needed to make a good fight. Fights live and die on their mechanics. Trinity games with “good” fights require each “role” to master a mechanic to clear the fight. The mechanics separate the good and bad players of each role, not the trinity. The only reason a tank can take the tank role vs a heavy armour DPS is an arbitrary mechanic that says “tanks get more aggro”.
GW2 has the right idea by ditching the trinity. A group of players can change “mechanic” from fight to fight based on their aptitude for a task rather than being locked down by an arbitrary “role”. ANet needs to catch up with their vision by making difficult encounters that require more than speed runs. I am sticking around because I think it can be done.
GW1 player from the start here. The only complaint I have is that the game lacks Cantha. Add Cantha and I will be satisfied.
A petition seems redundant since this thread keeps surviving. Just make Cantha and block off all PRC from enjoying it.
Does Cantha count as a feature? My initial excitement for GW2 was the desire to see Cantha re-imagined.
Thanks for the help. I was trying a few condition removal builds in s/tPvP when I realized I was ruining everything except the kitten Moa
Are condition removal skills meant to cure “Moa Morph”? I have tried a few times and things move so fast I can’t tell.
Does purging flames remove all conditions at every pulse?
1.) Makes no sense. Rank indicates nothing but time spent in the Mists. I am rank 11 but I read the forums plan builds and play 1-2 matches per night focusing on improving my game. I’m no pro but I have a clue how to actually play and now try to do 5v5 whenever I can.
2.) Maybe make this after more than 2-3 per days
3.) The maps are conquest not Deathmatch. Players should be fighting on points and guarding what they have.
4.) Agree but all or nothing is a bit absurd as you expect people to have rank 30 to join tournaments. The whole ranking system would need to be revamped for this to work.
5.) I think its ok as is. Annoying but maybe it will encourage people to form teams and not mindlessly soloqueue.
I am in Singapore but willing to alter playtime to catch the other side of Australia. Drop me a message in game
I either hop in and do some sPVP or world PVE for the respective daily then join guild on WWW. Which activity I do really depends on which character I feel like playing on a given day.
I am a player first and only lurk the forums to get a feel for updates or other happenings. MMO forums are a vile place where the vocal majority engages in bashing the game of the day. My experience in GW2 is a really fun few hours a week doing WWW with a large local guild interspersed with casually brining alts to 80 and sPvP. GW2 has problems but I actually enjoy the setting and gameplay.
Its 15 dollars. Who cares when the game will be played over years.
Just stop playing and go do something else. I played obsessively during the first month and felt the same as you. A 2 month break later and I am excited to play all over again.
I broke 1k with the Wintersday events.
I wish the game was harder. My “group” finished it on the second time once we realized that simply setting up mega snowmen to draw fire for our tons of siege gear was basically a guaranteed nap to both the 5 Dolyak and 50 wave achievements. I was happy to have received so many wintersday gifts though.

Hey Einzo,
I applied awhile back and tried to ping you for the past few days. Im in Singapore and moved from a diff server to CD so I am ready to play
The concept is good but the implementation needs a bit of hashing out. Paying several silver makes me stop and really consider how much more annoying it would be to just walk across the zone. I usually end up walking and finding a new event or seeing something interesting while being an extra player in the field for people doing the content for the first time. Price is my only complaint. We should be able to WP around with costs that make sense based on stops in the way, distance travelled, trade routes in the lore, etc and not some arbitrary fee.
People complain about a lack of player interaction in PVE? I haven’t had so many spontaneous teammates or local conversations since playing SWG.
“1) Pay off.”
Isn’t the pay-off about the same as the original game? I mean you completed missions and received a rating and some cash. You completed a campaign and get an item and some cash. Almost all of the title tracks and Armor sets required a fair amount of menial grinding for something which made you look slightly cooler. I agree with your other points but #1 is par for the course with this series.
There are no servers for SEA/Oceania so the large guilds usually agree on where they will roll so they have enough people to actually play with. EG the Singaporean guilds rolled on Crystal Desert, PH guilds on Gates of Madness, etc.
I call for General Consent on the Cleric set. you don’t get the offensive boost but you become really difficult to kill while being able to spam support skills to your allies and field boosted heals.
What future new utility and elite skills you would like to get?

I vote for and Elite Shout with a larger cooldown requiring specialization into Shouts to balance. Shouts are my favorite skills in the game and Guardian needs more more more!
Shelter is a viable alternative due to the block. You can chain it like Aegis, Shelter, Shield 5, Blow Shield, Resolve virtue, renewed focus, Aegis, Resolve again and you have a pretty large time window where you are regenerating and healing without being touched. Signet of Resolve is better for those builds where you aren’t going all out defensive or need to pop a large heal in a smaller fight.
Hello,
Please take a look at our guild Order of Mighty Goat Knights on the Gates of Madness world. We are a gaming community headquartered in Singapore with members from all over SEA and Australia. OMGk has around 60 active members and our focus is primarily WvWvW. TS and Forum membership is required and we tend to prefer talkers as our goal is a strong SEA gaming community morseo than numbers.
Feel free to drop me a mail with any questions.
