or, make it shorter, it’s the longest fractal instance, and easily the most annoying. it’s not extra difficult(unless you get a terrible party) as such, just takes ages.
This I can agree with.
I fractal with the same group of people. There are about eight or nine of us and we all play well together no matter what five of us are doing the fractal. We really don’t have that much of a problem with it. We also don’t get it often.
My problem is the time. It takes forever.
I like the challenge, I don’t like the length when you have three other fractals to complete along with it.
They really just need to cut out that intermediate boss and his clown car.
You should go from blowing up the door, straight to the endboss.
agree!, that change would do
I won’t say “you suck” because I fully agree with you. A well played Phantom Mesmer always gets me. I always feel like a noob when fighting them and there’s no shame on admitting it.
What I’ve learned in my experience is to…
…RUN AWAY AS FAR AS YOU CAN WHILE CRYING OUT MOMMY!!!
Full set of 5 unique skills for both dual-wield weapon sets: P/P and D/D – Make it happen
PvE – DD/CS/AC – If that didn’t work, roll a Reaper or Revenant.
You’re complaining against playing against teams? In team queue?
Just so you know, there are zergs in WvW and mobs in PVE, too. It’s a jungle out there.
This is exactly what soloQ is for.
This is team queue…
People are supposed to team up.
Random = soloQ
You’re allowed to hotjoin TQ, you enjoyed it while it lasted but if it starts being used like it’s supposed to don’t complain.
That is all.
A thief getting punished for being glassy? The end must be upon us!
Still not as much damage as a backstab, and much harder to do.
Lol the same people defending 13k back stabs?
Everyone thinks that a build which beats them is cheesy. The fact is that if you were to listen to everyone’s opinion of what is “cheese”, then there will be maybe six players in all of PvP who pass muster.
There’s a story about a father and a son taking a donkey into town and they start listening to everyone’s opinion about what they should be doing, who should be sitting on the donkey etc etc. and they finally end up carrying the donkey instead.
PvP is like that. Just a few posts above, a guy rattled of the builds he thinks are “cheese”. It’s all nonsense. A good build is one that gets the job done. End of story. There is no “cheese”.
So theres multiple (not many tho) high ranks who say that it was difficult for them to get their high rank and it should be rewarded with something unique cause they are hardcore.
Problem is that i have checked most of them and i cant find them on any leaderboard, so where the f have they been playing if not in skyhammer farming maps, well maybe they just have been inactive in past few weeks and their rank decayed.
So if you are one of those guys, then post a screenie of PVP statistics and show how much effort you have actually put in achieving your rank, show how much time you have spent facing other teams, show how much time you have spent carrying people in soloque, show how many times you have earned top stats by doing something better than everyone else on team and show that your favourite map isnt skyhammer.
I think I Disagree
This is a touchy subject, but I think I disagree.
I disagree because just like someone who has spent the time on a Legendary, times have changed. You had your time at the top, you put in the effort and it shows. It doesn’t mean that you’re better than anyone else (I don’t suspect that your saying that) but others have different circumstances and commitments.
Consider…
Think about it. Given enough time all those players who didn’t keep up with you would still eventually reach your rank. Is it fair to punish them because they aren’t you living in your circumstances?
Everything depreciates, just look at the trading post. 10g used to be so much money. Precusors used to sell for 30g. 30g wont even buy you a Sentinels ring now.
Conclusion
I feel that your time has past and you just haven’t learnt to accept it yet. You’ll have to find new ways to show off your dedication and love for the game. Which, by the looks, Anet is providing those kinds of opportunites for you.
Don’t punish others because you enjoyed playing the game. You made the choice to pursue something and you achieved it. You should feel proud but move on.

Technically it’s supposed to mean that you are better than 81% of the player base, but there are so many people with degraded leaderboard ratings right now that you should take it worth a grain of salt.
Removing ranks and keeping the finishers was in fact the original idea.
People complained because there was no reason for that exclusiveness to exist. Some players also wanted to keep that kind of long term goal in sPvP, even if it doesn’t make any sense for a competitive game format.
I wonder how many folks where thinking the same thing , when Hugh said he’s main was a warrior
en then talked about shaving.
Look at grouch , he mains engy , and thats how you shave ….
All in favor of banning warrior from Hugh’s character list ?
+1

Of course they will get their Dragons.
Silly you.
Haven’t you understood that pvp players are the lowest group in ANets hierarchy?Even lower than exploiters.
Every Skyhammer farmer will be Dragon and every PvE player will look faboulas in PvP with his Legendary and all his fancy skins.
In the meantime, ANet will almost delete everything PvP players have worked on.
1. Let’s be honest there except for QQ, what exactly do Pure PvPers bring into the game that PvEers don’t bring more of?
2. I don’t see why people seem to care about legies. Every few even care about them in PvE, why do you care what they do. personally Legies is the equivalent of rank, which means absolutely nothing.
This is an mmo forum, if someone isn’t whining chances are the game is dead.
So, here’s a question (purely for discussion):
If you had to choose one, would you prefer RANKED Solo Arena, or UNRANKED Team Arena? I’d imagine unranked team arena would still allow you to queue up by yourself or with 1-4 friends much like the rated version does now.
Thoughts?
I believe this choice might be biased towards one side over the other.
Competitive team arena players would want an unranked team queue to experiment builds. Non-competitive players would want an unranked queue to substitute hotjoin, and if that meant to remove solo queue, so be it. And competitive solo players would lose their will to pvp if you took that out of them. That’s a 2-1 in favor of unranked team.
Ultimately, an unranked team arena is not competing with solo arena’s space, but with hotjoin instead. In fact, we can pretty much say that an unranked team queue would be a “better version of hotjoin” in almost all aspects. And so it’s hotjoin that would need to be replaced, and not solo arenas, which fill a much different purpose.
I think Anet should embrace the idea that solo arena is, for a portion of the playerbase, the pvp’s endgame. Despite the flaws behind a solo leaderboard, despite the fact that in anet’s view, only team arena should be the pvp’s endgame, despite that an unranked team arena is a very important step to bridge players to team arena/ competitive play, and thus for anet to acchieve their dream goals, players will still desire a competitive solo arena, or any variation (say, solo/ duo) as long as solo queueing would not be an obstacle to reach the top.
I would say that an unranked team queue is a “Quality of Life” change, much needed to improve this game’s state of pvp, as it would prepare players better than hotjoins. It should therefore substitute hotjoin.
Meanwhile, the removal of solo arena would leave a hole in the game, where part of the competitive playerbase (those who don’t, can’t or do not desire to have a team) would be left unsatisfied and stop pvping.
I can understand that something needs to be replaced, that there shouldn’t exist too many arenas. But it’s hotjoins that should be targetted, imo. And by hotjoin, I’m not talking about custom arena servers, of course, just the official anet’s servers.
Current structure:
1. Hotjoin + Custom servers;
2. Solo + Team queues.
My proposal:
1. Unranked queues (the default option);
2. Competitive queues (be it as it is now, or replaced by a League or Tournament systems) – One option for solo (or solo/ duo), another for team;
3. Custom servers.
But if I had to choose, solo arena. I like being competitive, but I don’t have the time nor the will to dedicate myself to a team.

Hahaha man, these forums, it’s like hotjoin but with words
kalzana: I’m not your friend buddy!
Kasmeer: I’m not your buddy friend!
Braham: Uh-huh
In what way exactly is a Spirit ranger “toxic”? I’m not trying to defend, I just really don’t know. In what ways are the Spirits that different from a Guardian giving boons to his team or a warrior using Banners?
Constant uptime of spirit effects? Constant regeneration and easy resurrections and self-resurrections from Spirit of Nature? Screen and targeting clutter from spirits? Completely passive gameplay?
Sheer lack of skill required?
A guardian may share boons, but guardians can be taken down reasonably in a team fight, and the guardian player is having to actively manage skills. Spirit rangers… less so in both regards, while providing arguably stronger buffs not only to themselves but their team.
Hey play a necromancer with near to 0 stability and say this map is great lol
OP = thief
nuff said
Doesn’t Plague (or one of those other transform skills) give Necros one of the longest lasting stability durations in game?
Also, Necros have a pile of fears, and as far as skyhammer is concerned, I think that offsets any stability issues.

the truth is…anet is too proud of their “creation” so they will never change or remove that map from rotation because it would be just admiting that they didn’t do their job properly
so here we are, getting forced to play on incredibly imbalanced map that favors engis by huge margin; the fact that majority of players hate this map and don’t wanna be forced into class/build they don’t enjoy just shows how much devs care about our opnion or players for that matter
i started to play gw2 because they advertised how much they care about pvp etc., reality looks so different
ahhh, back out to lunch with them again? Next time can you put in a good word for me? Thinking I’d like to maybe get a shot at developing for them.
Scrubs with no map awareness and poor positioning hate skyhammer. Personally I like Skyhammer and think that it’s a fairly high skill map — I would even like to see it in tpvp rotations to mix up the stagnant cap/rotation passive play metagame.
I am rank 55 and have 15000+ ANET points.
What am I? PvPer, PvEer? Maybe a PvPvEer?
Whatever you categorize me into, there are thousands like me – who play PVP for fun and also enjoy the rewards. I enjoyed winter’s day bags and LA event bags with 1300 rank points and glory. I felt it was worthwhile.
I don’t believe in the excuse of skin farming. Most of the PvE folks who are already playing the game for months will have majority of the skins unlocked. For a PvE only player dungeon crawling, heart and karma farming is a faster route to skin unlock than trying to gain ranks. For new players, it is even more true.
Dyes could have a little bit of undesirable impact but, it will be hard for me to believe that overabundance of dyes will break Tyrian economy when someone can just make thousands of gold by not doing anything other than flipping items on trading post.

Giving away legendary weapons/precursors is honestly an amazing way to get people interested in pvp. This tournament is a giant leap in the right direction for anet, and it almost makes me want to come back and play in it. I would be 100% down if we had a new game mode, conquest is just so boring and I’m not sure if even legendary weapons will get 16 teams of skilled players to participate.
It may end up being one or two teams of high end pvpers (if they are still around/willing to return) vs a bunch of pve players looking to try and get legendary weapons. This type of tournament would have been absolutely amazing to have around a year ago…unfortunately it may be a bit late now. Regardless, I have to give my props to anet for coming up with these great incentives to get players interested in a competitive tournament. Bravo!
Tl;dr
Getting booted from an open world PvE group for not having zerker gear is just pathetic.
Morrï (Mesmer) | Serah Mahariel (Guardian) | Morrï Mahariel (Warrior)
“colesy’s on rampage today. Slaying casuals left, right and centre” – spoj
Stop running a bad build and actually do enough damage to tag the boss, problem solved.
isn’t that what the OP was talking about? In this case “bad build” is a build that is not a pure dps specced.
Mind you, in some of the orr crowds, i have problem tagging champions even with my pure berserker warrior – they just melt too fast. The mob hps do not scale linearly, and with big enough zerg it’s quite possible to get to the point when avg dmg caused on a mob per person is significantly lower than the tag threshold.
Remember, remember, 15th of November
OP, it’s not competive. You’re not competing with other people to get the top score. As others said, you simply need to meet a minimum threshold of damage. It does help a lot if you’re in a party, because the damage threshold is lower.
