Tempting, as in tempting to get away from what has become zerg wars 2 that the top two tiers have apparently become. But I rest my case.

Then I recommend FA in Tier 3, they are a great bunch.

And yes I am aggressive (to non Maguumans), and such CareBear quality sensitivity is definitely not welcome on Mag. I do hear that you can avoid such problems with Hello Kitty Island Adventure, check it out.

I was poking around a lower matchup thread, think it was the one with Kaening, and saw a bunch of servers talking about sacred lord flame ram as though it was theirs… Pretenders and unbelievers all of them.

The flame ram is the lord and mascot of Maguuma, everyone else needs to back off.

Anyhow lets make it clear ladies maguuma GOON power house is no more. GOON is not as big any more. They do have skilled players still around. So you guys are not going against a server that out numbers you or anything. How about this eBay we been at it for so long lets take out the next server that goes against us and then we go to battle. You Guy do have some good guilds out there I will give you that I enjoy a challenge from time to time. I enjoy you guys sending out your top guilds to eBay last night I was having fun at west keep area but then we got called back :/

In the big scheme of things, roaming gank squads don’t advance map goals that much at all. However a 5-man that decides to take camps/dolyaks as their goal can be effective.

I disagree.

If you have a siege team of 20 people attacking a keep (usually supported by the PUGs that come around so its safe to say 20+) thats defended by only 5-10 people, a 5 man team can prevent reinforcements from supporting that defense by choke-holding a common enemy “traffic” spot.

They can even hold of for long period at a time. I’ve survived against zergs of 10-15 against 5 for about 10-20min (depending on tactical advantage of the area around u an also enemy skill). That 10-20 minutes of 15 invaders not actually defending, not actually doing anything, but trying to kill us. Thats actually doing alot of good.

15 invaders are now not contributing and are useless in the fight against the invaders sieging down ur keep.

I run a kill-squad in my guild FTF. Our main objective is to cause Chaos. Break enemy coordination. Instill fear, and disorganization.

You may eventually get the better of us, but thats only after you’ve aquired an enormously high advantage in players over us, and by that time we’ve done our job distracting well enough to provide an opportunity of less resistance for the siege teams to have to deal with.

Thats the point of a kill-squad.

Finally… someone who gets it.

eCheese, sure people are free to play a game in any way the programmers allowed.

But to suggest people will not get criticized when not playing to the games strategic design is naive.

I did note earlier that there are many strategic objectives served by stopping people from getting to their objectives. Anyone Bunzy’s group kills or distracts is by definition, not accomplishing the “games strategic design”.

Asking for gank groups to stop doing their thing is to willfully ignore the fact that there is utility in disrupting the enemy.

So I say again, please stop rolling onto the forums and complaining that your enemy doesn’t play the game the way you want them to.

I am not going to explain supply burning to everyone here, but if someone drains or burns supply from a camp/tower/keep they know they wont be holding but currently do own, that is legit.

Transferring to drain supply via building useless siege, that is cheating crap.

Looks like the name is a mix of Yaks (bend) and (Ehmry) Bay. I’m from CD and noticed that there are a group of individuals from either Maguuma, or Ehmry Bay that actively work to sabotage their opponents. We saw a lot of our CD keeps that had flame-rams setup behind quatermaster locations to burn supply prior to the location being attacked, during our multi-week match-up with those two servers.

Building flame rams to be ready to burn the supply is not an act of sabotage, its a scorched earth policy in action.

The real sabotage is when someone transfers to your server for the week to build useless siege and waste supply in doing so.

Case 1, legit tactic.
Case 2, bullkitten cheating.

CD is only a good choice if you enjoy a no tactic zerg. They ride tier 4 or so because of the huge Asian pop not because they play smart.

Besides terror was looking for an organized N.A. primetime server not to ride the coattails of a pvd Asian zerg.

Feel free to try Maguuma. Almost never a queue and great organization and tactics. Public mumble and superb commanders and people.

Known as the honey badger server because we fight hard no matter who we fight and we always have fun.

Have been observing the match and this thread and I have to say EBay is true to form. There are a few good guys who dearly want their server to be respectable and with the showing they have on opening night they almost have it but then the balance of the population open their mouths here and you see the servers true character.

Even another reference to Maguuma here… still sore from last week’s lovins?

Okay I’ve had my fun swipe at eBay. Its only fun because they crai so hard.

Honestly i prefer when we are outmatched a bit. Makes it more rewarding to pull off the crazy tactical kitten we do.

Weeks like this where we just run away with the score end up a bit boring. The good side of it is that we can rely on the fair weather WvW crowd to hold the lead if we decide to take it easy the rest of the week when we are ahead.

Its like a break to make sure real life stuff is taken care of.

Really looking forward to tomorrow evening and the darkhaven/TC matchup. Should be challenging.

While I have been out of the game due to RL issues much of this week, the most talent I have seen from Ebay is from TAC. Even funnier knowing that you are ex-Mags. Come back into the fold any time guys.

I wouldn’t say Mag gave up, as we did come back the next day.

People logging out on Friday nights could be due to a huge variety of reasons, cause you know, real life…

The important thing about Maguuma has been that every matchup for the last few weeks, no matter how far down in score we are, we stay active and have fun throughout the week.

Thats the thing with week long matchups, you can always come back and try to make up ground tomorrow, unless its Thursday.

I would argue that this week has shown the exact opposite about Maguuma. We got schooled the first night, and didn’t just take our ball home for the rest of the week, we came back and owned those kittenes. Then they quickly gave up and have been largely inactive the rest of the week.

I love Maguuma precisely for this reason. That and we have hilarious and very capable people who come together in Mumble and wreck fools

Its only controversial when it shows that Ebay is losing :P

Except in this case we can prove it, because Ebay is getting stomped, just like last time.

But if having a strong opener and then quitting at the first sign of adversity is a “better server” i guess to each their own.

Hmm, I think this goes back to the earlier observations about a difference of attitudes between our servers.

I can fairly confidently state that the majority of people on Maguuma consider badges icing on the raep cake, not the primary objective.

I sincerely hope that most WvW players care more about the battles and the objectives than the badges, otherwise as they say, “you are doing it wrong”.

But if Ehmry bay is really in WvW to “farm”, then disregard the above comments, nothing to see here, move along.

So, let me get this straight…

If we have 5 or so people that are willing to corpse bomb and feed you badges, we can get your zerg to hold still while we actually cap more objectives?

If DB has such a Daytime presence, and never queues more than 1 map at US primetime, perhaps they should come join the fun on Mag.

People talk about stack fighting as though it is some sort of deplorable tactic… It takes a lot of coordination to move your stack all at once, etc. If you could kite a stack, you would stand a good chance of stringing them out enough that they couldn’t get the benefits of stacking.

Stacks are not terribly mobile unless they are VERY well coordinated, use that to your advantage.

Ape, the crickets are exactly what I logged on to last night on mumble. There were like 40 in the Mag BL Channel (20 were afk). Nobody making any noise. I asked “is anyone leading on this BL?” and the response was “Nope.” So I started calling the shots.

Then we have 2 commanders log in but not on mumble. We used the pubbie zerg that followed them to assault Bay as a distraction to plow a catapult hole in East Keep. Unfortunately, the pubbies got rolled out of west in time for Aspies to show up at east and route us when we broke the inner wall.

Frankly that was my fault as we didnt scout the defense inside before making our move. Live and learn I guess.

The cool thing was that everyone in mumble instantly responded and fell in line when I started doing supply checks etc. I think leading just isnt for everyone, but when we do have a good leader on mumble, kitten gets done. I had fun, even though we didnt get the keep. Looking forward to more of the same.

Doubt we will ever meet TC again unless you donate us some aussies.

Maguuma has a great US and euro community going. Not huge Aussie presence though we wouldn’t mind more. Community mumble and great tactics and commanders. No queue problems.

NSP doesn’t look to have the night pop to compete with DH now so I’m not sure that will happen.

If NSP is stupid enough to honor an alliance while DH runs away with the score during off peak they will be doomed to third place.

Daedalus, not gonna happen, tons of NA guilds just moved to SoS from Dragonbrand, among other sources. Hopefully will lead to actual 3 way fights in primetime instead of 1v1 with the other NA server, and then SoS running wild at night.

NEWS FLASH: Maguuma has had no queue on any BG during primetime for the last few days.

My summary of this week’s matchup: Mag can field enough to fill maybe 2 BGs on the weekend for launch. After the weekends that drops to maybe 1-1.5 BGs of folks. This week has been SoS claiming everything after hours, FA claiming everything during the primetime, and Mag has done our best to hold what we can, when we can.

Last night we had retaken everything in our end of EB, and we decided to go poke at SoS on FA borderlands to blow off some steam. Took the supply camps and the tower, then the keep. As well as 20 or so of us taking every supply camp on the map running counter-clockwise and crashing the zerg vs zerg fight over the Bay on the North East side of it. That took EVERY LAST Mag player that was in WvW at the time. While we did this, EB emptied out and FA took the whole map. Had fun, had laughs, logged off. After that it looks like people had a kegger at a ramalot. Kudos to them, wish i had been there to dance.

Sorry we dont have massive coverage like you, but at least I NEVER have to wait in queue, and have fun when i am on. You can sit around holding all your pixels vs nobody, and pat yourself on the back when you do. Grats.

If you really want to play vs numbers, come join us, you will never be lacking a fight when you log in.

Everyone is always trying to maximize their own server’s points. Sometimes that means attacking the weaker opponent. Capitalize on opportunity, dont stand on principles.

I can state for a fact that Mag only has queues in roughly 2 BGs per night (during prime time). Eternal and our own.

Half the EB guys are saying good fights, fist bump, etc. The other half have cried a kitten river.

I suppose that we at Mag could make the same case that EB attacks us, Waaah Waaah etc. But we dont.

Frankly, from what I have seen, the choice of who to attack has been decided more by the easiest opportunities vs. who is in first.

When you aren’t at max population in a BG, or even worse, only have 10-20 people in the BG at all, generally you take what you can, and you dont stand on principles.

Keep crying about the imaginary “alliance” EB, you will never get better if you continually play the “victim”.

I was there at WvW reset, and i can tell you that we were fighting both EB and TC equally, and then EB got two orbs and an early lead.

Just because we went after the first place team doesnt mean we allied with you. It was just the most prudent decision at the time.

Now that EB isn’t leading, they seem to think that they should never get in a fight with Mag, and if they do, its clearly because they are being picked on…
