I got the same bug, lots of folks have this problem too, but some were still able to earn it.

Pretty sure this has been mentioned before, but real-life replicas of the plush charr back items would be nice. Perhaps one that functions both as a sitting plush or one you can actually use as a backpack.

They also said that if things work out with Anet in the future, they plan to make episodes faster, but that might not be for a while for the next couple of episodes.

Did we just get 3 new maps?

Guild Halls on the main map are there since both of them are historically tied to the forgotten before they built Tarir but they’re abandoned so guilds can claim either of those areas.

Unlocking living story

Vanilla players can unlock it as long as they log in without having to pay anything extra to play it, they just need to buy HoT to be able to play the LWS3 episodes. Later on when the next episode is available you will have to buy it in the gem store. Otherwise you’ll have to fork out more money for the expansion, and the individual episodes.

Living World Story so solo unfriendly

That’s why it helps to be observant to what appears on your interface. It was also explained when you first unlocked the new mastery, hinting that you use a special skill if you read the mastery description. I knew what to expect, I just had to look for it on my skill bar.

I died a few times on my first try but I got the hang of it pretty quickly. They only thing that really kills you are the Area-of-Effect attacks your enemy uses. So it’s important to dodge them as much as possible.

And another problem you might be dealing with is that you tank too much. That means you constantly attack you enemy in close-combat and you keep getting pelted with attacks without dodging or staying mobile. You can’t always rely on berserk attacking because enemies in this story do use a bit of conditions such as daze, knockdown and confusion. So you need to stay on your toes to avoid them as much as possible.

Once you get the hang of channeling the bloodstones and using the beam on your enemies, that breaks their defiance and makes them vulnerable. That’s when you can tank them and unleash as much damage as you can. But when they get back up, take a few steps back and be on your guard.

What’s worked for me is walking around the Jade Construct in circles while attacking in close combat and timing my dodge just before it attacks. You’ll notice a yellow line that follows you. Study the timing of the attack and dodge just before it attacks to avoid getting frozen. Same goes with the spin attack. Don’t stay in side that circle and escape with a dodge the moment you see it on the floor. Stay outside until the attack finishes or continue attacking with a ranged weapon. And stop attacking when he’s shielded, or else the damage will reflect back to you. That is when you need to use the bloodstone beam on it instead. When you break the shield, that shield transfers you instead for a short time. Take advantage of it and do some damage.

actually the rumbling is coming from other players using the jump pads that bounce you from the bank to the trading post.

Transition from LW2 to LW3

LW1 was never in the gem store. All of LW1 happened before the story journal existed. A lot of LW1 content behaved like events that repeat on the map but they weren’t permanent. They changed that with LW2 and made them like episodes you could enjoy alone or with a party.

They announced they would remake all of LW1 into episodes but that would take a lot of work since LW1 worked differently back then. But it’s been a while now, who knows if they will ever remake LW1.

Do we need ley-line gliding for LW S3?

in Living World

I highly doubt it.

Gliding, along with other masteries included in HoT was content exclusively intended for HoT maps. That’s why the current mastery system is divided by Central Tyria and Heart of Maguuma. Overlapping HoT masteries throughout central Tyria would be a game-breaker. It was surprising that Anet decided to bring gliding to central Tyria, but even they know that they had to be very careful when including gliding to the core game.

That being said, I don’t think ley-line gliding will be required, and I don’t think it should be, that’s a very high-tier mastery to unlock. I myself have unlocked ley-gliding, but it takes time to unlock. Even more so that some people who chose not to master that line and spent points on other mastery lines, now cannot enjoy LS3 content because of poor point investment. Sure you can unlock more points, but some people don’t have the time to work for those. And I refuse to get the extra points through raids because of how poorly I was treated by some players. So I don’t think it would be realistic to expect Anet to block a significant amount of content from players with a high-teir mastery line. Especially if those players just bought the expansion but want to jump into LS3 content.

I don’t think LS3 is intended to use masteries from the expansion, even if LS3 content requires you to have the expansion. Even with the masteries that you were required to unlock in HoT to progress in the story, I think those were a mistake we could have done without. Granted, it encouraged people to explore masteries in the expansion, but LS3 isn’t centered on use of masteries/mechanics, it’s just story. I honestly think LS3 could do with less masteries other than what we needed to progress in the HoT story. But those are just my feelings.

Yeah second screenshot is nothing new if you played GW1 and linked your account since GW2 launched.

Though it would be cool to rediscover the rest of the area around the ruins of the Eye of the North and the Far Shiverpeaks once we get to fight Jormag.

7th Elder Dragon?

in Lore

Posted by: eligecos.8429

eligecos.8429

This is all pure speculation and theory, but what if all the ley energy leaking from Tyria is actually a 7th elder dragon trying to coalesce into one while the 6 are trying to hold it back?

The 6 dragons are known to consume all the magic in Tyria until it is at a low level. Is this cycle meant to actually hold something back that could do more harm than good if all elder dragons were killed?

Story Mode Dungeons Dead?

One thing I never fully experienced was the story modes in all the dungeons. It gets harder and harder to pull together a group of people to play them without having to go through the effort of finding a group or a guild that wants to do them. Doesn’t help much that I generally enjoy the content of GW2 as a solo player.

But what I liked about LW season 2 content is that it can be enjoyed as a single player and a group. Likewise, when playing the final chapter of your personal story by killing Zhaitan, you could play the story mode of that dungeon solo.

I wish all story modes of every dungeon had this. So I thought since they did it with Arah, why not make a solo version of all dungeon story modes work this way as well?

I’m not sure if this was brought up in the discussion thus far. But I would like to see changes to the manner in which not only legendary weapons, but also unique mystic forge weapons as well.

I don’t mind keeping the recipes the same. But I would like to have event chains that reward components for them that span various maps around Tyria, much like how the baby black moa chick quest chain worked in the original GW1.
