I bet my PC will be stressed too. I’m predicting an average of 20 fps :-)
If theres one thing I really hate on GW2, it’s titles. They are a visual clutter. I wish I could turn just the titles off.
Anet won’t add an option to disable just the titles, anyone know why?

YOU all look the same to me.. you grey hooded people :-)
Please stop suggesting we upgrade our PC since that is not the solution. The solution that will work for EVERYONE? Tell Anet to update and optimize the game engine!!!
The complaints are all valid.
I actually had to pay someone (a guy I know IRL) to go through some of the contents in HoT because I can’t do them (adventures, jumping puzzles mostly). I can probably do them given enough time or practice, but for me, any time invested ingame that is not fun is waste of time.
I don’t care if other say I should “git gut” or whatever. I find GW2 fun to play, and whenever it starts not being fun, I find a way to make it go away (ie: have someone else do those unfun stuff, just like IRL, someone else mawing the lawn, fixing leaky pipes, etc.) so I can go on to the other fun stuff.

HoT maps are terrible for casual playing and many think it was designed that way. You can play (read: run around) anytime you want, but to do the important stuff you have to follow a schedule.

Thanks for your answers; I was trying to click on the 2 rewards on the right. I feel kinda silly now…
happened to me. the ui is bad for that one.
the right ui is a clickable “ok” button, but when clicked without choosing an item a message “please choose one” or something similar should popup.
-autologin does not work!
I like Bitterfrost bacause it’s easy to navigate, and the only one I regulary go to with my other alts. The other LS3 maps I don’t bother since I only have one toon who got in and my other alts can’t (I don’t want to do story or use portal cause I think the other maps suck).
If Anet can’t do anything about the engine, they can do something about the other stuff like adding an option to disable effects, optimizing the models, reduce draw calls, hand optimize code, etc.. But most importantly they should stop creating maps that they know will have FPS issues.
I’ve posted before a problem I had with Verdant Brink, turns out it was the constant FPS drops that causes my headache (which I though was something else).
I did not enjoy HoT maps as well as core Tyria, because:
- to get the waypoints and other maps, i watched videos on youtube
- to get masteries/hero points, i watched dulfy guide on getting to the communes/strongboxes
- to get masteries/hero points, i followed hp train
- to get to a successful meta map I use lfg
- I skipped the minigames since they are frustrating (not all)
Doing the above took the fun out of the game for me. Not doing those tho, HoT map is a frustrating experience.
The megaserver is an algorithm problem and is simple for someone who is very very competent. I mean, if Jeffrey Dean from Google would tackle this megaserver issue, it would be trivial and he would have a solution in a few hours.
I was in Tarir and this is what happens (check image). If that was not intentional, then the game should prevent idiots from unintentinally doing stupid things.
Someone keeps using a merch on Nightmare Pod in Silverwaste which prevents it from being opened. Tried clicking around it but it always show as ‘Talk’ isntead of ‘Unlock’. This is intentional since I have encountered it about 4 times already. Also this behavior is not isolated since I’ve seen people do it on chests from world bosses. They pop an aviator or bobblehead, hell even a portal from a mesmer, on top of the chest.
Suggestion: disable popping of those items when near (or spawn location of) chests/boxes/etc.
i was on a train in verdant brink. i dont remember who the heros were and what they even look like since all i see are bunch of names, but got the points nontheless which is what matters to me.
The real cost of GW2 (or any ‘useless’ activity like binge watching Netflix) is opportunity cost. The thousands of hours spend online could have been thousands of hours spent learning a musical instrument or computer programming.
I’m in a different position than OP since I find leveling too fast! I have 70+ warrior and guardian already, leveled just by running around doing events, hearts, vista, collecting, etc and the world boss on those maps (lots of Frozen Shaman because of the Norm warrior). I have only visited the starter areas and only just started going to level 30+ maps.
Now my problem is I kinda suck at combat because I did not do too many fighting I think. For example in Kesses Hills, I die on those Toxic Allegiance mobs, got cocooned by a fat spider, downed by a giant toxic worm when I was soo far away. And those those champ bandits, ugh.
It’s a learn to play issue for me tho, so no complaints for now
I’m a new player, don’t have an 80 yet. Reading the forums and reddit it seems HoT is ‘L2P or GTFO’.
Still enjoying the core game, but not looking forward to HoT.
