Why do mesmers complain so much? It’s like you guys are entitled to no counter class. I don’t see thieves complaining about burst/retaliation from guards and condi spam from engies.

Better scaling system – I don’t agree. I hated how you scaled automatically to maps lvl when you entered it. Wasn’t fun to mudwrestle 3 drunken lvl 5 rats for 5mins with lvl 80 full exotics character. While in FFXIV you one shot them with lvl cap character.

I never enjoyed the boss fights in ff14 since the bosses are pretty much stationary like in WoW. That part feels really outdated. Also the worst mapping system ever.

The scaling system helps keeps old areas still challenging and relevant. I hated how in WoW that all the awesome areas were completely deserted after an expansion. It’s not perfect, but its a step in the right direction imo.

Stationary? Really?
There you actually need to move around and often even keep bit distance to others in case of AoEs.

GW2 bosses, find funky corner, stay there stacked spam skills and dodge towards wall so you wont get owned 1 hit kill skill and keep at it until its dead. :P
Movement in GW2 is almost zero, dodge isn’t movement if you don’t really move when “dodging”, its more like utility skill “invulnerability for 2 seconds”.
IMO Anet should fix dodge so that if you dodge away for atk range it’s dodge, if you do “empty” roll without moving at all with 1 inch distance to boss you should get hit by it.

Plus most areas Are deserted in GW2, though current supermegagigaserver system does make it feel tad more alive.
Only alive areas usually are where people can do champ trains 24/7 and there isnt many of those.

I meant the bosses not the players and stacking wasn’t anet’s intention.

I just did a map completion and there were ppl in every map I was on.

Like slamfunction.7462 compared GW2 and FFXIV as cars.
To me FFXIV is high maintenance cost Ferrari F430, gives epic pleasure with cost.
While GW2 is common low costs “sports” car Golf Wolksvagen, which gives okay ride but better not to expect thrills of 340km/h speeds in matter of seconds.

Record a video. Alot of times I die from making 1 or 2 mistakes like failing to interrupt or dodge in time. I have to think few steps ahead.

Anyway, unlike a thief or a mesmer, a ranger doesn’t come from nowhere. If you don’t look around from time to time, that’s your problem. And, if a rapid fire from a ranger kills you, what about a backstab thief, who can actually pop from nowhere?

Sorry if this already been mentioned. My main problem besides stealth tracking is how rangers can pop a huge burst anytime from a “safe” distance. Even if they miss or the arrows only partially hit, thier cd is only 10 seconds.

Then there’s the bigger problem of comparing skills in a vacuum, which should never be done.

Cast Time: 0.25 sec vs 1.75 sec – Shadow Refuge wins
Cooldown: 60 sec vs 90 sec – Shadow Refuge wins
Stealth: 10-15 sec vs 5-6 sec – Inconclusive (Shadow Refuge requires standing in the circle for 4 sec)
Healing: 1,775 (0.9) vs 0 – Shadow Refuge wins
Number of Targets: 5 vs 10 – Inconclusive (Unlimited allies for Shadow Refuge if they walk into it, but they’re unaffected by pulses)
Radius: 240 vs 1200 – Mass Invisibility wins

Overall it seems like Shadow Refuge wins but I’m just comparing numbers, is that still a taboo?

I think you just want to make mesmers op by nerfing the hard counters.

As a p/s meta roamer, do I have any chance against it? No matter how many conditions and cc I place on them, they just wont die or back off. I feel dumb just running away from a sword 1 spamming juggernaut.

I feel like some these complainers never played a thief. Please don’t ruin thief like rogues on WoW.

You know when a thief uses SR, they have to stand within that tiny circle for few seconds. That’s plenty time for someone to react and prepare.

Also, some thieves are predictable in stealth. Once my fire proc hits them, they’re screwed.
