The only reason I can imagine for Anet to ignore their player base is that they are preparing some major announcement at E3.

Sadly, Arenanet doesn’t go to E3 since it evolved into a press-only event.

Sadly (at least for Guild Wars 2 players), those illustrations are from a personal project of master Kotaki.

Claw Island, Player Island

This is very unlikely. I like the idea yes, but claw island is a strong military strategic place for the Lion Guard, they won’t give it to the player for free.
And don’t forget that we alredy have a (highly useless) home instance. Before making any new home, ANet should improve the existing ones AND implement guild halls.

This is a very interesting Dolyak Express for me, for I’m a recently formed Game Designer. Sadly, my country (Spain) does not have many “great” VGDevelopers. I’m not afraid of traveling around the globe, but one posibility I’ve been thinking of is to create a VGDeveloper of my own.
I admire you people of arenanet, you’re awesome: I’ve been playing Guild Wars since the searing of Ascalon… My questions are:

1- What I must do to create a great game company from scratch? what teachings can I learn from you?

2- And, if I can never create such a company, what are your tips for a wandering Game Artist?

The dredge fractal can be annoying and tedious, but is challenging as hell and I apreciate this. The fractals are the most challenging dungeon in GW2, they have the potential to be the “endgame” dungeon of the game for a long time. The fractals’ random nature, teleporting the players to very diferent locations makes the dungeon diverse and fresh. Also, it shows us places and times we never could experience otherwise, a thing loremaniacs like me appreciate.
The fracatals have to be more challenging, and in the same way, more fun. Maybe you could implement a hardcore mode, with the normal mode having the actual fractals (less the dredge fractal) and the hardcore mode having new fractals (plus the dredge fractal) and/or modified fractals with challenging mistlocks, having exclusive and/or higher rewards.

I’m a GW Prophecies player and a big fan of preascalon, I’m fascinated by the culture and the architecture of ascalon in general.
So I would follow my Queen, Doric’s blood, to war.

Oh yeah, I love lore Q&As!

Question 1: The wizard’s tower of Kryta and Ascalon. What’s the story behind them? We will some day revisit them?

Question 2: Like someone said in this thread, What’s the story behind Doern Velazquez?

Question 3: Where was the mursaat city with colosal towers that Saul visited long ago?

Question 4: Lord Odran! Tell us something about lord Odran, please!

I have to say that Ascalon was neither charr or human.

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ascalon “The land known as Ascalon was originally claimed by the charr sometime before 100 BE”

The original inhabitants of ascalon are unknown, but are suspected to be Seers, Forgotten or grawl. But, in my opinion, the extint gargoyles have something to say about that.

And when the humans founded Ascalon, the Charr where very primitive, we do not know if they even have a name for those lands, because the charr calls his kingdom by the human name (Ascalon). There where no options for a truce or dialogue in those times.

The Living story is just ruining the Guild Wars lore. I’m a big fan of ArenaNet and I’m a player of the Guild Wars saga since prophecies, and I’m ok with Guild Wars 2, with the story of the dragons and the 5 ancient races, even I’m ok with Trahearne, but Scarlet…

Scarlet was interesting when she was behind the aetherblades, but now, she’s just the nemesis of the entire game, not just the living story. I bought Guild Wars 2 believing that we would learn about the world, the misteries surround it, the elder dragons, the gods, the ancient races… But instead, we have an egocentric salad who can unify any race to create unlikely and forced alliances… I’m here to slay dragons, to explore this vast and misterious world. I loved Orr because of the feeling of being in a land unexplored and dangerous, full of secrets and ancient magics… But with the living story, all that was good is gone.

¿Where are the epic concepts of Daniel Dociu?¿And the epic writings of Jeff Grubb and Ree Soesbee?¿And the Epic Soundtrack of Jeremy Soule?¿Where is the promise of a vast, evergrowing explorable world, full of secrets and dangers?
I will continue playing Guild Wars 2, but not for the living story, not for Scarlet. I will play for the old times, for the old good, intrincate and epic scale stories, and for the hope I have that some day we will finally visit new and unexplored regions, with good stories and lore free from a walking salad with delusions of grandeur.

And sorry for my english xD

1. The Wizard’s Tower. Ancient mistery that dates back to 2005. What wanted Glarath from the tower? Is Isgarren another name of Verata or it is a completly different person? Is the same tower that the tower of Ascalon? Has any relation to “The Order”?

2. The Ancient Races. Mursaat, Seer, Dwarf, Jotun, Forgotten, and Giganticus Lupicus. What were their original names (for the Seers, Forgotten and GL), and their motivations, relationship and history.

3. Lord Odran, a misterious character that only apears in the Manuscripts (and possibly mentioned by Bahltek in Nightfall). A powerful wizard that traveled through the mists, and Role Model for my elementalist.
