Considering the Rarity of the Endless Halloween Tonic...

I would love to be able to transform into a ghost with my endless tonic! In my opinion, we should be able to transform into all possible Halloween disguises. Especially considering the rarity of the endless tonics.

I finally got my endless tonic after using 36,000 candy corn. That number is just what I bought off of the TP ( Tallied it up using the TP history), not counting what candy corn I got out of the ToT bags. It seems that the drop rate is very, very low, but nontheless one of my guildies got his after opening only 220 ToT bags.

Arah explorables

Personally, I like the difficulty of Arah. It’s not impossible, so don’t give up hope. I’ve gotten through all but one of the explorable paths so far, but not without a large amount of patience and practice (and energy drinks). I have seen a few guides that some helpful people have written, and you can bet that the writers of those guides spent quite a bit more than 4 hours inside of Arah.

Just try to sit back and analyze the boss both before you run in, and while you are fighting him (TS or another VoIP works wonders for this among other things), and then try to figure out the best course of action.

And don’t worry about those money you’ve lost, just think of it as an investment. Once you start to get better at it you’ll start making a real profit. From the rumors I’ve heard, Giganticus Lupicus drops exotics relatively frequently. It’s just like learning to UWSC in Guild Wars 1, for the first few runs it seems impossible and you spend a bunch of money on consumables, but after to get it all down you start raking in the money.

Best of luck

What exactly ARE the Elder Dragons?

When I use the term “force of nature”, I mean it in a symbolic, conceptual sense. Not in a literal sense of the phrase.

It seems like we have two very different approaches to this, mine being more of a “grand scheme of things”, and yours being more of a direct line of reasoning from the perspective of say a denizen of Tyria. Neither of which is a bad way of looking at things, just different.

It’s good discussion, and definitely interesting to think about. Unfortunately, I think we need a few more pieces of the puzzle to figure it all out.

Hmm… If the Elder Dragons are really akin to forces of nature, then what are the consequences of taking a “force of nature” out of the equation? Perhaps defeating Zhaitan will in turn empower the other dragons, making them stronger in its absence?

Also, from what I have gathered from the game and books, the Elder Dragons do appear to be “magical” beings, or maybe a better term would be beings which transcend biology/physical laws. They also do, as was previously stated, to “feed” off of magical artifacts/magic. So perhaps they are, in a way similar to the forces of nature, but instead “forces” of magic/transcendental beings, which are factors in the “equation” or “equilibrium” of the world? If so, their purpose may be simply to balance the world and keep a semblance of homeostasis in the world. Their motivations may even be incomprehensible to themselves, just as the ocean is not necessarily “aware” of itself or its purpose, but rather interacts with the world in the form of physics.

If they really are the magical counterparts of the forces of nature, their purpose may be simply to balance out the magic in the world, which does appear to be spontaneously created, in a way inconsistent with the real world concept of the conservation of matter and energy. They may just be a way of nature maintaining an equilibrium of magic; their consumption of magic and then cyclic “sleep” simply a way of taking the excess magic out of the equation.

Of course all of this is conjecture and hypothesis and may very well be completely wrong, but, to me at least, it seems the most logical answer.

I have to say, Tybalt was by far my favorite character in the PS. Also, that’s a great picture you found there, definitely going to save that one

[Suggestion] Make WvW Commander Icon Account Bound

If not, please at least give justification for keeping it single character only. You could even add a “Commander Soulstitch Fang” title for all alts so people know who the original book was bought for to prevent trolling with alts.

This is a very good idea, I think no matter what they decide to do they should at the very least put in a title which is for all characters on the account.

Right now I feel the most important issue is the way they are character bound, as opposed to account bound, and this should be ArenaNet’s top priority.

I do feel, however, that in the future the cost of owning a commander icon is going to become a serious problem, and in a very different sense than when there was the outcry that the jump from 5g to 100g was outrageous and that no one would ever get one. We now see that this is clearly not the case, and eventually as the player base gets richer we will see more and more commander icons appearing everywhere, not even just in WvW.

I think that the best course of action for ArenaNet to take is to start by making the commander icons account bound as soon as possible, because this is a very simple change to make. They should then evaluate the many different possible ways of earning commander icons, and making sure to keep those ways fair and keeping the icons account bound.
