Experience: Well tbh, Thief was my first gw2 character and i’ve been playing well over 2 years now –
I was always afraid when i got on to thief i always died in pvp not sure why i just felt so squishy . Then i moved onto Ele and played it a while sorta understood class mechanics then moved to Engi and understood class mechanics even better than i cam back to ele but this time i wanted a challenge so i took up S/f / S/d Ele took like few months to get it going to perfect combos i could take out a couple of ppl with it and i thrived in a good team fight as well then mesmer got op – but i sucked as it so i trained to land shatters better and eventually i did get better.

But during those journeys, I ve had people helping me out – i cannot thank them out.

Now i’ve came and want to face my fear the thief – i always have this mentality that i am going to die – Thief = death but i dont feel that afraid when im on the profession ive played quite well – Mes/ SF Ele – but when im the thief its different lol.

I would like to face my worst class and be better/ or best at it.

Another limitation is my geo-location – its a constant or at best 200 Ping but i did manage to do a lot a lot better with that ping with my Mes and SF ele so im hoping thief wont be much hassle compared to that.

Hi guys , this is more of a curious post. Ive been checking out the ppvp forms quite allot recently and people keep saying Engi , thief, mesmer are god mode. Aside from the broken condi damage, burn …etc which is the situation for all condi classes what did the engi get that made it op god mode . 900 range grenade with a kitten bug is barrage? .. the mortar. ?.. half of the mortar combo fields dont work. SD engi its not even that strong compared to a theif single BS . Please let me know what made it god mode keeping aside condi. Maybe i overlook ed but would like to know . Thanks guys

What should i make. I hv a habit of levelling chars to 80 andthen occasionally playing them in PvP.. since I reached my char slots max I would like which on these three should Iplay next and is good, . Ranger , Necro , Guardian .. which would be fun in PvP n good .. pls tell me which is fun according to your style . I just want to know ur opinion

Combo with bombs ..

Pull wrench, confus bomb, ice grenade, confus pistol and so on.

Please keep in mind that im not a pro-engi but i play engi quite a bit, so what i am saying may not be the best answer

I think it depends on how u start the fight. For me i just start with normal attacks and run closer to them as they move back drop some normal bombs and eventually get them to chase me thinking ive wasted something and drop the sticky bomb and the fire bomb.

For smoke bomb, i use it only when im about to die put it and stand in it until hopefully my heal comes back or go stealth if i have a combo finisher.

Fire bomb can be combo’ed to give might or burn without it actually touching the enemy.

But eventually when they start pressuring u, u keep dropping bombs.

just keep trying … get the radius trait fr Bombs pretty helpful in dueels~!

I came back after about 4-5 months and anet has changed the perplex to an extent giving them icd’s

I would like to ask is it still worth it to get em for WvW roaming purposes?

Comparing the previous perplex to the present one how far is it ?
If you guys have any videos of using the new updated perplex runes in roaming please link me

What other condi rune is more worth it than perplex? And why please share :P
I have full rabid gear atm running undead.
I was thinking if i got full perplex the extra confusion can take em down faster.
Whats your take on this.

I will be reaching lvl 80 on my engi soon, and i would like to know what mix and match sets should i wear to get most of condition damage and toughness?

I saw some people in the forums say mix of Rabid and dire or something along that line.
As i know that some stats in different pieces don’t make much of a difference.

So could you guys help me out and tell me which piece i should get to get most of condi dmg and toughness cause i will be WvW’ing with the engi. And also PREC as it can help with incendiary powder trait.

You’re help is greatly appreciated.

It’s contradicting cause, HGH works with toolbelt even , but fast acting doesn’t lol..

As the topic title describes, Does Fast Acting Elixirs not work with Elixir Tool belt skills?

Cause i don’t see the CD reduction like i do on the utility bar elixir skills.

We felt it made it sense to let stun breakers also help you when you are launched, since this is consistent with how stun breakers respond to other control effects."

Does this mean we’re getting rocketboots back to stunbreaker??

Question about trait issue;

Automated Response, does it work?

I got burned to death below definitly 25% of my hp..

It says condi duration reduced by 100% so if i have 5 sec burn it should not even burn me at all as 100% reduction = 0 sec no burn no condi dmg.

is it bugged?

Question about duel build i made;

Traits were

20 Explosives ; larger bomb explosion radius and recharge rate
10 fire arms ; for recharge of pistol
10 inventions for cloak
30 alchemy for Elixir S, Automated response , protection

Utilities : net turret , toolkit , Bomb kit

Sigils : pistol – inflict bleeding
sheild – endurance 50%

amulet is Rabid

Is this a susceptible duel build? if considering SPVP only atm?

Please also give me your suggestions

15 air, 15 water, 30 arcane, and the 10 wherevevr mostly earth

I would like to ask what ascended should ele’s use, if i do a lot of wvw some pve

My build with the new patch would either be 0-10-10-20-30
or just the old bunker 0-10-0-30-30 depending on situations
I would like to ask whats the best Ascended gear should it be average or specific.

To start off, I- myself am not a pro Ele and i am asking for tips as well. But as of PvE, I think an ele is fairly alright. It can live.

What you can do is , use both ur dodges at first just dodge whenever u feel like it and notice the mobs attacks then dodge later on.

Use the water heal no.5 if you are d/d and your healing skill like below 50% HP.
Try to keep moving ( A MUST as D/D) – Moving can refer to running in circles, back and forth, dodges and even the no.3 Fire, no.4.5 air . no.3 Earth

Like these, Also try to search some more skill rotations
no.3 fire to no.5 but i think it should begin with no.5 air or no.3 earth

Try out all skills you will notice they have skill combo’s = giving boons

Ele is highly fun, even though attunement switching can be a pain but you will get used to it

<— 1 Month Ele experience not throught playing 1- 80 but just experimenting and leveling throught crafting and dungeons.

So that’s my tip, btw i have a 80 thief which i leveled 1-80 i have died more on that then on ele.

So on Ele you shouldnt’ die that badly just learn the mobs move and dodge or use ur moving skills

I would like to know how to PvP as a Bunker Ele with full boon duration runes and PvT gear on

In WvW I tried dueling Guards but my damage is barely hurting them. While i came up with this necro which i suppose is Condition necro, everytime he puts condi’s on me ill switch to water but he overwhelms me and whn i lower his hp he goes ghost mode and i just cant handle the condi’[s anymore.

ANy suggestions to go against necros As a bunker ele with cantrips in utility.

As the title says.. Just curious its a end level place and i expected it to be loaded with players but i guess i expected too much.

Why don’t people do temples as they do daily boss events?

We are trying grenth in JQ need more ppl

Still doing it even though its already an hour already

Looking for more ppl we need some guidance as well

Im new to elementalist but i have managed to get it up to 80 by playing d/d , s/d and staff at different situations.

I love the d/d so fast and feels like ur always moving and no one can catch you. While the s/d is like constant pressure cause of the air auto attack

While staff has great aoes and aoe heals

I just want to ask which build is good and can easily switch between weps

I want this build to kill in WvW and general dungeons – arah maybe? :P

Just asking which trait setup and what type of gear i should wear. I have watched a lot of ele builds especially bunker d/ds they look awesome they’re kiting a whole zerg yeah

just would like to get your opinion on these guys

I went for Norn, just cause they have better animations to an extent.

For armor looks i have 2 T3’s – the leggings and helm and others are just exotics from t3 & karma. She looks just awesome, reminds me of Xena even though she isn’t exactly looking like that. xD

Necro can add in many ways to a group, especially debuffing and keepin the condi’s up to allow ur team to do more dmg, i heard necro’s also have group heal. (Not sure)

Ranger on the other hand. is nice as well imagine this situation

ur fighting ur teammate goes down but u cant ress cuz ur being attacked u can send ur pet to ress <—————IMO REALLY HELPFUL
especially dungeons now since pets dont get aggro lol it helped me kitten much xD

You could think of it this way, even though i know it DOES NOT PRACTICALLY APPLY.

Guardian – Tank/heal – helps the rest of the party survive with boons and stuff
Thief – DPS – Helps doing lots of dmg while being squishy

You basically have a tank and damager

Maybe you wanna add into those damage, and pick; (in PvE)

Warrior – great dmg boost and can tank a while
Mesmer – extra dps with clones (might be wrong as i never tried it)
Elementalist – great dmg if traited and also support
Ranger – Im not sure.

Or you could add to your friends dmg by doing a condition necro who debuffs, and ur thief friend does more dmg through that.

Condition engi also does those and can be of a good support if you want extra support for group.

These are just my opinion, im fairly new as well so yeah Hope it helps.
