Same counts for the OP, the GTX 690 is basically SLI
Yeah, same here bro…
i7 3930k @ STOCK
Asus Rampage IV Extreme
32 GB Quad Channel DDR3 at 1600Mhz
2 x Nvidia Geforce GTX 680 SLI
256GB SSD 6GB/s Main + 3TB Storage
Win 7 Prof 64bit
As you can tell, not much a difference in our spec.
Guess what, i get really bad FPS too in WvW… (everything set to max)
Anyways, welcome to the club, your PC is fine, don’t worry about it. It’s the engine of gw2 and the current nvidia drivers.
weird
the last patch improved my FPS greatly.
Now i get 90 – 130+ FPS in most areas, didn’t have had a chance to try WvW so far.
Well in Lion’s Arch it’s still only 40 – 50FPS, will be interesting to see what WvW says.
i7 3930K @ STOCK
2 x GTX 680 SLI
Asus Rampage IV Extreme
32 GB 1600Mhz, Quad Channel
Samsung 256GB SSD (GW2 is on the SSD)
Win7 Prof 64bit
I know this is like impossible since people still have problems, but whatever you did, don’t change that part that finally makes full use in some areas of my GTX 680s :O
Keep it up.

Is everyone that's having bad FPS, using AMD CPU and or AMD video cards?

same spec as Phaze Delta One….
only difference is i’m using 2 x GTX 680 SLI and 32GB 1600Mhz RAM
my i7 3930K is at STOCK speed, OCing to 4.5Ghz didn’t help to increase FPS…
on heavy WvW battles i get 19 FPS which is just LOL….
I already gave up on this.
3 days ago when i was in WvW i got 19 FPS with the following specs:
i7 3930K @ STOCK (OCing didn’t help for GW2)
Asus Rampage IV Extreme
32 GB 1600 RAM, Quad Channel
2 x GTX 680 SLI
Samsung 256GB SSD (GW2 is on the SSD)
Win7 Prof
Latest 306.23 Nvidia Drivers
GPUs were at 46 – 54% usage while in WvW
CPU was at 20% while in WvW
19 FPS in WvW….
i was like… “TROLLLLOLOLOLOLLLL”
My hardware is fine, i play a lot of games on this machine super smooth, also some heavy games that need CPU power like Shogun2 if you zoom in into an huge battle.
Eventually i will try to OC the GPUs while in WvW (basically set a fixed clock), but it seems silly to me that i have to do this for a simple game that still uses DX9 only because the engine sucks and because NVIDIA doesn’t get us an option to get rid of the GPU BOOST and what not crap.

To whoever merged/mixed the posts/threads and thought it’s the same topic:
Please never touch the forums of GW2 again…
I’m totally confused now because of what you did.
Hacked account of my gf…
email got changed, please implement a mailing system to verify stuff like changing the emails… just wow…. i have never seen that.
1st Ticket
120905-006007
2nd Ticket
120906-005329
I know we are not waiting since 7 or more days like others but i might as well post here now seeing how most don’t get any response anyway.
Oh and btw. the confirm email thingie you get in the launcher never worked for my GF…
I want to add, thanks for everyone trying to help me.
I’m an IT dude as well, i’m fully aware of alot of basic things you need to check. But it’s an serious issue here, the GTX 680 GPUs don’t get used to 90 – 100% like in BF3 or any other games out there.
GW2 only uses 50 – 56% of both GPUs and my CPU is ULTRA COOL almost idling arround with 20% usage.I want that GW2 uses all i have, i don’t want my GPUs to use only their half power….
Now i hope that Nvidia also works hard on this….
Are you using the frame limiter option? Instead of limiting fps it just throttled my gpu+cpu down to 60-70% and giving me lag. I went from 30->60 fps while the limiter was on 60.
No Sir, didn’t make any difference while playing arround with such settings :/
I’m not asking for high FPS like in BF3, but if it drops below 30FPS i’m seriously not impressed.
Thermaltake Level 10 GT Case
I can see your problem…
Really? why? because of the Case? lol
That case is freakin awesome, and everything inside is super cooled while playing any game…
CPU never gets above 50 heat, GPU at 70 – 80 heat… never above 80

@Easypeasy.1246
atm i just blame the nvidia drivers mainly and to some degree the GW2 Engine/Code :p
I don’t think my system has any bottle-necking issues, if it would, then i couldn’t play the other 20 games on my machine ultra smoothly with ultra max settings and stupidely high FPS compared to GW2.
You know, Games like:
- BF3
- Total War Shogun 2
- Anno 2070
- Skyrim
Really Phaze???
awesome!!! because that may help the devs to figure something out if they notice there are more people with exact the same specs, well close to.
Oh and don’t worry about getting another GTX 680, doesn’t really help at all for GW2 so far lol.
@Swordbreaker
exactly my thoughts exactly…
haha thanks Swordbreaker, i was already thinking about getting the extreme edition CPU, but that would have costed me about 600€ more :p
I guess that can wait :p
Well i agree with Swordbreaker here….
I have posted my true high-end system specs already in that low fps thread, also gave details to GPU and CPU usage…. it’s a weird issue, expecially since the CPU is almost idling arround with just 20% usage while playing GW2, and both GPUs are only getting an usage of 50 – 56%.
BF3 130 – 150FPS (GPUs used to 90 – 100%, CPU usage at 30%) max/ultra settings everything, Resolution 1920×1200
GW2 26 – 60FPS (GPUs used to 50 – 56%, CPU usage at 20%) max/ultra settings everything, Resolution 1920×1200
(26FPS in WvW at times and in some weird Dragon fights)
You see what’s wrong there?
I’m not asking for high FPS like in BF3, but if it drops below 30FPS i’m seriously not impressed.
Intel i7 3930K
two GTX 680 in SLI
Asus Rampage Extreme IV motherboard
32 GB RAM 1600, Quad Channel
Samsung SSD SATA-600 blah and blubb 256GB (GW2 is on the SSD)
Thermaltake Level 10 GT Case
Win 7 Prof 64bit
So yeah, i agree with what Swordbreaker says, because he is just right.
But in my case, it’s really weird :p
Oh and to the OP, your system is indeed not high end :/
Well there was an verfication link in the launcher to confirm and secure your email.
But the verification email thingie where you could confirm your email didn’t work for my GF either…
And guess what, her account got hacked by now, we sent tickets and she is awaiting help since roughly 36 hours…..
I want to add, thanks for everyone trying to help me.

Thought i should add a few screenies for you guys to see CPU and GPU usage while ingame, not sure if it helps.
As you can see, currently running the game with max settings having 44FPS with both GTX 680s in SLI.
It’s like that in pretty much all areas. In WvW it can drop below 30s, about 26 – 30FPS.That perfomance would be really okay for me if i wouldn’t have such an high-end PC Setup. In other games i have zero issues.
Cards, the entire PC are correctly setup. Yes the cards are in the right slow, yes the PCIE 3.0 slots give what they can just give.
Yes the ram is correctly Setup to use the QUAD-Channel technology.Oh and turning V-Sync on or off makes no difference.
Playing in full-screen and changing the default refresh stuff thingies doesn’t make any difference. To avoid confusion i added the dxdiag again in this post.
you are running windowed fullscreen you are loosing about 15% perfomance because of that alone, change to fullscreen and you should get a boost to your fps
Please read my post you quoted again :/
I wrote already that i changed to fullscreen, made no difference, same low FPS.

Yeah bro u need to turn that supersampling down to normal, otherwise you get cra**y FPS…trust me I’m on Ati 7950, and with supersample off I get on high to max settings about 70 Fps…
Trust me, i have tested already everything. Using Native only gains me about 5 FPS….
And Supersample just looks better :p
There is no reason why we should set down any setting in GW2 with such an system we have.
BF3 with everything at max/ultra i get 130 – 150 FPS

GW2 is on the SSD.
Guess what, the FPS is very low. Using one or two GPUs makes little to no difference.
At max i get 50 – 60FPS using both cards in SLI, in WvW it can drop below 30FPS with both cards in SLI.
CPU usage is far from 100% when ingame
same with the GPUs.
I can’t tell wether the nvnidia drivers or the GW2 graphic engine or both are the issue…
I’m very dissappointed so far with the perfomance of GW2.
I’m using the lates nvidia 306.02 Beta Driver.
Ingame settings everything set to max, everything… Supersampling also.
Resolution 1920×1200
Playing arround with settings doesn’t really help much, and to be honest, i don’t see why i should have to set something down with the machine i have…
BF3 runs absolutely fantastic with everything on ultra/max settings.
