Crazy, this is the first time I’ve seen some legitimate answers given. Thank you Mike and Habib.

Chain CC = bad design
Its not challenging when you’re just stunned over and over or have 5+ stack of confusion on you non stop. Its just kittening annoying. When you force players to run a specific set of skills only, you limit counter play, and when there is only 1 way to combat the enemy, the game gets boring. Thats why no one bothers to open presents anymore, its not fun.

This game also got rid of the “holy trinity” of the tank, healer, dps, so no one holds aggro permanently anymore.
When doing a dungeon for the first time you gotta go tanky so you can learn how each enemy works and not die from every attack. Once you learn their attack patterns you can switch to something squishy and bursty and just use alot of vigor (endurance regeneration) and dodge everything. Also, make sure all your gear is up to your level, that also really really helps out.
Just from my personal experience, going full dps or going full tank or full whatever doesn’t work in this game. The most effective build is one that mixes a decent amount of tankiness and gives boons to the rest of your team. The best boons (buffs) to share are might (power/condition damage) and fury (20% crit chance). Protection (33% armor buff), Regen (HP heal) and Vigor (endurance regen) are also good boons too.
If I am running a dungeon for the first time or I’m running it with a pug that might suck, I’ll always run pwr/tough/vit gear with pwr/prec/tough trinkets to give me a decent mix of damage and survivability.
If you ever manage to find a guild that is 100% awesome at dodging swords and arrows, running glass cannon builds are definitely the way to go, but thats after you’ve mastered dodging like Neo in Matrix.

Stealth has been a problem with every pvp game ever. No game has done it so well that its perfect.
I think Halo’s solution isn’t too bad although its not great. You can see the outline of the person the faster they move.
League of legends isn’t too bad as well. Once you’re in a certain range they become visible. Perfect scout but without the stupid 515151515151 faceroll backstop combo trollytrollface.
If they could fix the culling issues, we could then really see how thiefs act, because the culling is a massive problem right now.

Wanted to also ask, how is health and armor determined on illusions and phantasms? do they scale with your vit and tough or are they completely independent?

Many of the tool tips for the skill sets are incredibly vague. I’m like to assume that you want your players to make informed choices rather than force us to test it to see how long it goes.
Cooldowns – So many signets, runes and traits have an effect that procs on something or is tied to an utitily skill (warrior has a million of em) what is the cooldown on them and does it affect the utility skills cooldown at all or vice versa?
Just a couple from Mesmer for example:
Temporal Enchanter – Glamour skills last longer. (1 second? 25%? 1 Year?)
Compounding Power and Wastrel’s Punishment – Please describe the difference between “active” and “inactive”. Does active mean they are physically moving? Or only active when they are using skills? Same thing with Inactive. What is technically inactive?
Anyways, lots of that. I understand you have a wiki, I find it funny I have to go to not the game to learn how to play the game or figure out stuff, half the time the info from Wiki is wrong or incomplete.
Also a fun little idea. Guardian and Ele have signets that remove a condition every 10 seconds. Add a little timer so we know when its coming up. I don’t enjoy overlapping a shout when the signet is about to proc. Also to add to that. If its every 10 seconds does that mean when 10 seconds comes up and there is no condition, it just starts over? or it waits until you get a condition, uses it, then starts 10 seconds all over again?
Anyways, hope you guys get around to reading this. Tool tips are a big part of game play, once players get past looking at pretty vistas and facerolling the keyboard, they’ll want to know how to play effectively. And please just don’t post a link on this forum page to the wiki… quoting wiki doesn’t work in school or work and I can’t fully trust it in this game either… which leads me to ask. Is there some sort of manual or encyclopedia etc in this game?

if we dont count the elementalist’s crap elites where hounds are rly great to use
we have good enough elites with about 2 min cd
hounds do good dmg but they can die rly fast so 60 sec less CD will be fine
I must have missed the part where the water heals and drops ice fields or how the air ele is pretty much the toy robot. stuns like every 2 seconds.

If your solution to the problem is to throw more money at it, I don’t see where the incentive is for the problem to be fixed on the developer’s end.
This is a very silly response. If you read what the guy said, he’s not spending any more money because he doesn’t trust the dev’s decision to make the RNG on the pet drop so low. On the developer’s end, they have lost trust and any future financial transactions for this customer. And personally from listening to other people, I can’t think of a good reason why I would spend my own real money for just maybe getting what I want. I’d rather play lotto for a chance in real money at least.
anet could be making so much more money if customers could actually buy what they want.
I’ll say this again. Make a separate currency that has nothing to do with gems and gold (like diamonds?!?) that can only be bought by cash and sell things that can be bought with cash. I’d pay 20 dollars for foostivoo. I would not pay 20 dollars to maybe get it. I’d also pay 20 dollars for volcanus (soul bound obviously). So what if I didn’t grind hundreds of hours to play the game, you the developers would get extra money from your product. You guys like making money right? or else this game would be free to play I’d imagine if that was the case.
on a complete side note:
Here is also a fun idea, make a weapon that can be imbued with 5 of the same sigils (only 1 would be active) so that whenever you use that weapon it would have the visual effect related to that sigil for example superior sigil of air, everytime you swing your staff or sword or whatever, lightening bolts would come out. I’d also pay for the item that could imbue that kind of effect onto my weapons.

So I’m in T3 IoJ and I’m only seeing enough players from each server to hold their own map, eternal battlegrounds and sometimes there will be enough players to take a tower and some supply camps from someone elses borderlands.
I am unsure what its like in other WvW battles but it seems a bit silly when a server barely has enough population to hold their own borderlands and eternal.
I suggest a change in map population or the inevitable server consolidation which will fill up PvE and WvW again. If T3 is like this I can’t imagine what its like in the bottom rungs of WvW in terms of numbers.

2 things I want to touch on
1) no party = fail I want to hear from the guy who thought that was a good idea or the guys who couldn’t think something as simple as lets let our players party up
2) throwing text at people isn’t a good way of teaching them how to play. teach people through playing, not a wall of text, it immerses players into the game more than… read then play.

Probably the most comparable dungeon “boss” to Simin would have to be ac p3, the burrows. You simply can’t do that path if you have 5 condition necros. You need a team who can actually deal damage to the burrows and the coordination to all converge at the right place at the right time and to make sure no mobs overwhelm you.
I can’t figure out if you’re trolling or not but I’ll respond seriously. Generally the only “Must have” is an ele with ice bow and even then, its not terribly hard to do out. Most of it is just knowing where they pop up killing it as fast as you can and managing ads.
I guess if you’re comparing AC p3 to Arah, I should go do arah. I personally don’t care much for the gear nor the dungeon achievement and the time it takes to do it is a big turn off…

@ adine – that alone does not make confusion worth keeping – its an ability that is only fun for the user. You have to remember this is game, most abilities should be fun for both sides, not just one side. An ability can be fun for the enemy is there is fun counter play to it, confusion is one of those abilities that lack fun counter play. and if you consider just using a condition removal skill as fun… well thats kinda weird.
@ rehashed the jube tube – if you read what I said, I also think its hilarious to use on people , but I don’t think its a skill that takes skill. Its funny to use, but I don’t feel like its very rewarding. I want to kill a person knowing that I used my own skill to kill them, not because they were being stupid. Better question, which feels better? You winning from your own skill or winning by the stupidity of others?

@ Ballistic, other conditions don’t punish you for fighting the enemy which your ultimate goal right? kill the enemy. Killing the enemy should be fun, not punishing. I leveled my first character pretty much in WvW, I don’t play much spvp/tpvp but I watch videos of “high level players” there are certain conditions I am good with and some i’m not good with. Conditions like being stunned, slowed, crippled, weakened etc are all viable forms of cc that need to be in the game as a form of play and strategy, I however have something against confusion because like I said, it punishes you for fighting back which is the point of the game, fighting the bad guy. I don’t care whether it has 1 stack and tickles you for 10 damage or have 20 stacks and deals 5k per attack, the basic design of it is pure false choice and isn’t fun. I am ok with conditions and using condition removal.
Sir Spanx Too Much (80 Warrior), Lanevo X (80 Necromancer), Miss Meryzia (40 Mesmer)
@ Forrae – what you said just supports what I said. Its a very one sided ability when it comes to fun.
@LordYz & station – You guys know whats up. I don’t even bother fighting them or if I do, I have to bring 3 condition removals or I just kill myself.
@Rieselle – Its worse than the red circle I’m talking about. There are several obvious counter play options to an ability that has CC and high damage as I listed, when the troll attacks you see a red circle and you see him jump. When you see confusion, its virtually instant and the enemy doesn’t really jump around or chat whoguh whoguh wallawalla bingbang before they cast it on you. Also your counters aren’t counters. Kill them with superior spike is only for some characters and interrupting like I said is very very very very hard to do when the cast time is short.
@ digiowl – the damage is so situational on it but that is beyond what I’m trying to get at. I’m particularly looking at the receiving end of it and asking what are fun way of countering this ability.
Let me go over the counter play options:
1) If you fight with it on, that is a deceptive false choice because you just end up hurting yourself by fighting
2) Running away is not an effective choice because the idea is to kill the the enemy. So that is actually countering the game play
3) Using condition removal isn’t rewarding or effective because after you use it, they can just reapply it faster than your cond removal will come off CD.
None of these are fun or rewarding. If you guys can see what I’m getting it, counter play should be fun and rewarding. You guys make all your counters are forced, not interesting and most of all not fun.
For those that think my post is stupid, you want to you go fight princess doll toys for an hour, try different builds and most of all try it without condition removal and see if you can counter it effectively and efficiently.
Sir Spanx Too Much (80 Warrior), Lanevo X (80 Necromancer), Miss Meryzia (40 Mesmer)
I would pay $20 dollars for the baby quaggan. I won’t pay $20 dollars for RNG. When people spend real money, they want what they get. If I want to play RNG, i’ll go play lottery where I at least have a chance of getting real money back.
I think you’re missing out on a financial opportunity here, you have items that people want that they can’t farm or work for in game and you’re offering it purely for RNG.
I understand legendary, keep that that way. but town items? who cares if everyone has it, you’re thousands of dollars richer for it. heck, let people. spend $50 dollars for the precursor. I bet people would pay for that too.
Sir Spanx Too Much (80 Warrior), Lanevo X (80 Necromancer), Miss Meryzia (40 Mesmer)
I dont know, confusion is good against tank that has low hp but weak against burst. Let say you have 70% hp and i am glass cannon DPS rifle warrior, you put 10+ stack of confusion on me and i use killshot on you …GG.
I know its good it kills tons of people when its used, but i’m asking you is it fun when is it used against you? Do you feel good when you counter it? And the better question is, how do you counter it? This is a game that is meant to be enjoyed right? So I’m what I’m getting at is that an ability should be fun for both sides and confusion presents a false choice of either you killing yourself or you just standing there and taking the damage and of course like everyone will say, you can always use condition removal but that in itself limits the style of game play that can be used against confusion. The counter play isn’t there. With warrior rifle, you can still dodge killshot, there is counter play there. If you’re wondering why the warrior stopped shooting his rifle… it’s probably a good idea to dodge. But with confusion, if you get it… well you can’t dodge. if you do anything you just take damage.
That’s how I feel about condition damage in general, its damage that you really don’t notice and the counter play for it is very limiting, you can’t really dodge out of the the constant auto attacks from a necro or short bow ranger so even if you condition clear, it’ll just get reapplied 2 seconds later, there is very little counter play to it.
I think a great design choice is the random event cave troll in AC. His jump will demolish all but heavy tanks. There are a couple of ways to combat that without having to do any specific skill. You can walk out, you can dodge through it, dodge out of it or hard CC him (interrupt, daze, stun, fear etc) Or you can tank through it via protection/stability/block etc. BUT if you mess up you will get knocked back and you will receive alot of damage. Walking out or dodging out keeps you alive but you feel even better about counter play when you are able to CC him before he does it. There is the counter play in that ability. While it can kill you, you can stop it and when you do, you feel good about it. That there is good design.
Sir Spanx Too Much (80 Warrior), Lanevo X (80 Necromancer), Miss Meryzia (40 Mesmer)
What I’m saying that just by design it isn’t a fun mechanic to play with or against no matter how much or little damage it does, its a false choice. I play PvE only nowadays, I played WvW and spvp pretty hard the first month but got bored with balance issues and the culling (I personally hate walking into invisible enemies)
My encounter with it is in AC exp (the scream is confusion from the boss) and the toy princesses, long story short, when you have that condition on you, your choices for retaliation are limited because its a fall choice you either bring condition removal, you run away or you hurt yourself. The variety there is not fun in my book. At least with bleeds, burns, slows, etc. I can still fight back without having condition removal.
If you can see what I’m getting at, its not how much damage it does and you can’t really balance it for damage because it has the potential to be godlike or deal as much damage as a baby quaggan so “balancing confusion for damage isn’t a good way to deal with it” its about how it limits game play vs confusion, there is no clear counter for it, just a way to get rid of it.
@plasmacutter – I don’t play pvp anymore, the balance in there is kind of a joke and the cc isn’t particularly enjoyable to play against. And to give you an idea of where i’m fighting it, its vs the toy princesses who can apply 3+ stacks for 5-10 seconds. I’m using explorer gear, MF runes, knight’s trinkets and tanky traits. I’m currently using a signet build just for fun, but when ever i fight confusion, I have to switch to cantrips or walk away and wait it out. What I’m getting at is that it isn’t fun to play against.
@conncept – in pvp that is the case, but in PvE it isn’t. it wrecks real hard.
@ wintermute, when you say “just deal with it” makes it sound like you don’t enjoy playing against it either.
@ Ryuujin, I never played GW1, and I do love the idea of confusion, but the actual implimentation of it is very limiting.
Sir Spanx Too Much (80 Warrior), Lanevo X (80 Necromancer), Miss Meryzia (40 Mesmer)
It is absolutely hilarious to use on people but never fun to play against, especially if you don’t have passive condition clear or you have to use a skill to condition clear it.
Of all the conditions this one is the worst, if you’re bleeding or burning you can fight back but confusion is pretty much just as good as any stun. Either you don’t attack and they can attack you for free or you attack and you die that much faster, either way you die. This means you’re forced to run condition clear vs enemies that use it or just run away until it wears off.
I personally don’t feel good when I kill someone from confusion because the enemy died from their stupidity not from my skill. I don’t want to hope someone is stupid enough to faceroll their keyboard to their pending death, it removes any sort of player skill from that ability.
I’d rather just be dazed or blinded/crippled instead to simulate confusion because playing against it is just anti fun.
Edit: There have been plenty of posts on this, most of which are touching on the idea of countering it. What I am hearing is that it is useless because it does no damage or that you can just use condition clear on it etc.
What you’re missing beyond the numbers is the basic design of confusion, what it is designed to do and the choices you make when its applied on you.
Lets take out condition removal for the next scenario.Lets go to the extreme and imagine that 10 stacks of confusion are on you and it lasts 5 seconds. Each stack will damage you for 500 per skill and you have 20k health.
What are your choices?
1) Fight them and hope you can kill them in 3 or less moves.
2) Run away and not fight for 5 seconds.
Players should not be forced to make these kind of choices when trying to fight a foe. Should I run? Or should I kill myself.
When you’re bleeding or burning, you are presented with different options. At least when you’re burning or bleeding, you aren’t punished for fighting back.
PLEASE READ: You shouldn’t be punished for fighting the enemy.
I think other forms of conditions and crowd control effects are for the most part fine because they aren’t tainted with one another. Confusion is the only ability that is a form of CC and damage at the same time. Either you do nothing which is just as good as a blind or you do something and it deals damage.
That being said, to survive in this game, you have to run condition removal or your life will be hell. I’ve tried not running just damage but it doesn’t work, you will inevitably end up on your back or feared, immobilized, pick your poison. It’ll happen. The only viable counter play to conditions is to use condition removal unless you happen to play a character that can transfer it back.
I just think condition damage in general is someone broken, I like the idea, I do not like the implimentation. Sometimes it does godlike amounts of damage (one of the sub bosses in SE applies 5 stacks per aa and it does big damage) or its just the single arrow of a ranger which is nothing. There is too much of a variance in the damage to make it viable. I won’t even get into the 25 stack cap. That’s just a joke when it comes to doing group events like dragons or other massive group events.

RNG with real money lol… It’s like Areanet hates money.
Sir Spanx Too Much (80 Warrior), Lanevo X (80 Necromancer), Miss Meryzia (40 Mesmer)
In case you don’t understand economy there is supply and there is demand. If there is more supply then price goes down, if there is more demand price tends to go up.
That means we ask 2 questions…
1) Why is supply high? Because people need 400 for legendary, they want to craft or most likely and crafting is stupid easy so anyone can do it, its not like you have to have a college degree to craft. Plus its a stupid easy way of leveling.
2) why is demand low? Because you can buy armor and weapons @ between the 5’s and 10’s that are cheaper than crafting, you can craft your own weapons… so the only real demand is really just level 80 rare/exotics.
Me personally, I only buy between 5’s and 10’s because its too pricey unless I’m leveling my crafting as I level my character.
But… there are ways of making money with crafting, I’m just not going to tell you because then there would be yet another supplier. :P

I hate typing in peoples names to join/invite especially when I’m in the middle of a fight. Why can’t I right click to invite? Also, why do I have to Alt+Tab out to use gw2lfg.com to find a group for a dungeon?
Also Fractals broke every other dungeon. At least from what I see, for every dungeon spam I will see 2-3 FotM spams and thats dungeons in general, not just any specific dungeon.
I personally choose to not play FotM because I was told that GW2 wouldn’t use power creep…
Sir Spanx Too Much (80 Warrior), Lanevo X (80 Necromancer), Miss Meryzia (40 Mesmer)
Servers are dying slowly, I’m having to use gw2lfg.com to find dungeon groups and I can’t solo the CoF event to get into the dungeon. I’d do it with others but I can’t find a full group in LA anymore because everyone is doing FotM.
I think that is a problem that should be fixed IMO unless there is a really good reason you don’t want us playing your dungeons.
Sir Spanx Too Much (80 Warrior), Lanevo X (80 Necromancer), Miss Meryzia (40 Mesmer)
You perform much better on your staff compared to your d/d play. In PvE and big WvW battles Staff works, in any sort small battle 1v1,2v2 etc d/d outshines staff so hard.
Sir Spanx Too Much (80 Warrior), Lanevo X (80 Necromancer), Miss Meryzia (40 Mesmer)
So I have a guard, thief, and ele @ lvl 80 all of them have at least 2 full exo sets and plenty of exo weapons, I have a warrior & necro ~60 a mesmer round lvl 30 and haven’t really touched engi/ranger.
The theme that I’m getting from all those classes is that melee is just plain better than ranged. If you want to kill anything as a ele you have run d/d. I run short bow and d/d on my thief because pistol just feels weak. Guardian, I only use a scepter when I physically walk up to something and swing my sword/hammer into their face.
Long story short, I build full glass cannon on most classes ranged, the damage isn’t much more than building tanky DPS melee plus you get added support stuff when everyone is grouped up melee.
Anyone else see any trends on other classes?
Sir Spanx Too Much (80 Warrior), Lanevo X (80 Necromancer), Miss Meryzia (40 Mesmer)
Ah cool, good info ty. The CD’s still seem really long compared to other classes IMO. I’ll play around with it more and see how it affects my build, I’d really hate to lose cooldowns on staff or wells. or just losing wells all together. I don’t die all that much if at all, I just really hate sitting there in stun lock. Its incredibly annoying.
Sir Spanx Too Much (80 Warrior), Lanevo X (80 Necromancer), Miss Meryzia (40 Mesmer)
Hola amigos, I am currently working on leveling a necromancer, he’s level 50 now. Just to clarify, I’m not looking for the bestest build, or the most efficient build or the end all of necro builds. From basic analysis, I’ve concluded that conditions, while fun, don’t have the same damage output as a power/prec/crit build just in general for any class. Condition stacking is broken for me because I play with a Warrior who goes sword/shield-rifle so I’ll always hit the 25 stack cap. And conditions don’t crit… as far as I know.
Anyways, I’ve decided to go Staff (Aoe) – Axe/Warhorn (Single target dps) with utility wells. As for traits I’m thinking about 20/0/30/20/0 or something like that focusing on staff/marks/wells etc. I’m going to use mostly Power/Tough/Vit gear with Berserker trinkets. I’m finally got a good feel for all my CC cooldowns (Warhorn #4), Staff (#5), (DS) #4. I also feel like I have decent control on getting rid of conditions off my self and my teammates (I play PvE like 98% of the time). I want to stand next to my warrior and guardian friends so I can get their boons so I made this tanky/support/power damage necro build.
BUT. My issue lies in said topic title. Stability and Stun Breaking. Me personally, I hate just standing there, stunlocked, knockdown locked, fear locked, blahblahblahlocked into my inevitable death. My elementalist has cantrips, my warrior and guardian have shouts. But necro, I kinda just lay there and do nothing. Some may call it a challenge but I personally do not find stun locking fun, I don’t enjoy laying on my back for 4 seconds every 15 seconds. There is nothing fun about it. As a side note, I’d like to hear from ArenaNet about CC in this game because at the moment I hate feeling useless, I hate just laying there not doing anything, not contributing, not being able to fight back. I do appreciate when someone times a CC right to interrupt, that is really satisfying, no one however enjoys being CC locked and not being able to fight back.
So, my fellow necromancers. How do you deal with being useless for seconds at a time? I understand that if you go deep into the utility tree, you can get a whooping 3 seconds of stability, we also have 2 stun breakers on a 90 second cooldown? Please correct me if I’m wrong because I really really want to be wrong. Someone tell me that we have like some 20 or 30 second stunlock/stability skills and traits. I’m really close to giving up on this class because I am not a fan of being CClocked to death.

The cost of way points are too high at the moment. For a game that promotes community, me among many others would rather not spend 3+ silver for the round trip when I help a friend for a couple minutes, sure I could spend 5-10 minutes walking to them porting from map to map, but not everyone has hours upon hours to spend traveling. Another good example is looking for groups when doing dungeons. I don’t want to have to spend silver to go back and forth to find more members for a party. I’ve been using the dice roller plugin for Team Speak 3 to see which one of us has to go to spend the money to go to lions arch and then to the dungeon area.
I can’t see any justification in having such a high traveling cost when trying to promote community game play, I for one would help others (for free) if I didn’t have to pay 6 silver for the round trip. I would like to see the price of way pointing dropped or would like to know why it costs so much.
Thanks, hungryhippos

They say that any build works… but you have to have stability/anti stun or vigor for more dodge unless you like laying on your back.
More importantly, I’d rather fight the final boss than a scavenger. Why is a trash mob harder than the boss?

I’m finding it harder and harder to find groups for the “old dungeons” now that FotM is out, and I’m thrown in overflow in LA. Power creep is problematic. IMO.

this isn’t accurate. you should recalculate without a single point spent in traits since they all have major effects on your overall dps. you should also take crits out because that also affects dps. you gear should have no prec or crit to get a more accurate dps calculation.

you really hit it on the head. i agree with most everything.
Jump puzzles, like some people said, are fun, and I agree for the most part, what kills me is the rediculous camera angles, it gives me headaches when it zooms in and out and in and out over and over and over, throw in a big norn and charr and its gg rage quit.
Ya know, I would totally drop extra money on this game, but I haven’t seen a single thing that I’ve found interesting enough that is worth $$$ and the exchange rate for cash to gems is a complete joke. Why would I pay hundreds for a full armor set, really? Make couple armor sets that actually look good for 10-30 bucks cash, no gold. I’d rather hundreds or thousands of people drop 10 or 20 here and there rather than 10 people drop 500 on something…

Maybe its me, but every week, I feel like there are less players on maps. I thought they should take the bottom 9 servers, offer people in those servers some gems and tell them to move to more populated servers, i feel like this would be more fun for everyone. thoughts? Anet?

which supply camp has this bigger circle?

eh… the squish is fine. its a scholar class. its the lack of cannon in the glass cannon. In general, i like the skill sets of all the weapons availible. Its the power scaling that makes me giggle. Ascalonian Elementalists are scary so everyone kills them first. Everyone also likes to kill a normal ele first just because its an easy kill.
That being said, a power ratio boost on scepter/staff weapons would be nice. Any smart person would just walk out of the aoe so minus well make it hurt while you’re in it for the 2 seconds.
Also. Tornado, great idea, not a great implementation in its current state. When i see one it means. FREE KILL. EVERYONE KITTEN ON IT NOW. Its damage output is not impressive and has no defensive stats. I suggest that either you boost the damage by massive amounts or add a projectile reflection to it.

I feel like if a threw something at a tornado it would just bounce off… just as much, if i tried to melee a tornado i’d probably get thrown around…
but no, you can hurt a tornado with no repercussions. #logicfail

I think this affects PvE in a big way since now my friends can’t come over and play for a day or whatever now. Server transfers should go back to 24 hours or even sooner, like 12 hours so i can drop in a friends server for a day and go back that night or something or even give a 12 hour pass that auto transfers you back or something (no WvW/bonuses during the pass duration).
If the problem is WvW abuse then I suggest that when a person transfers servers they can’t play WvW and receive related bonuses that current week plus the next week. That would make people seriously think about transferring to different servers.
I can’t see why anyone would abuse transfers for PvE… maybe farming orichalcum or something but I haven’t heard of anyone doing that yet.
