I believe that there are PVE+ers invading the Pvp forum..
You can see a mass eruption of GVG threads, their goal is to make pvp forum as illegible as possible and shift any focus left on pvp back to PVE, so they can get their dreams of fake GvG.
not only the forum, in game the 90% of the mist population are pvers or casual players
SWTOR is more of a Esport then this game, till Anet realizes this and focus’s on crap people actually like “WvW” and GvG this game will continue to suck the teet of SPvP

2 of the top 10 in solo queue NA right now are mesmers, just saying. (Although when I think it’s going to be a tough game, I reroll spirit ranger and hate myself)

they don’t create the meta, the don’t create the builds, they just see the forums, nerf or buff classes with patches and wait while the players look for new op builds, and again , again , again,…
My thought process isn’t that the WvW and PvE players would make up the entire population, but just making structured PvP feel active in some way could attract way more competitive players. One of the game’s biggest problems right now is that it feels pretty dead when someone solo or team queues and gets the same pool of people over and over.
Basically, we need the bronze league players to make reaching diamond league feel more meaningful and interesting.
Besides, the game is absolutely not going to become an e-sport at the current rate. Might as well try new approaches.

5k for the first tournament is really really low.. u must think that lot of ppl watched it cuz its the first, and just wanna see how it develops , like me
right now if we would ve tournaments daily like both moba’s and sc2, the viewers would be less than 1k, there is not player base, there is not enough ppl interested in pvp and rly rly low ppl interested in pvp as a e-sport
possible solutions: when there are rdy 10, randomly assigning to both teams
min 20-30 rank requirement
and real punishments to the leavers
btw its imspoible to control the wintrade in a game played by 100-200 real pvpers
many ve 2nd acc.. he would can enter to a game just to help a friend.. if they are in same team he do his best, if he is in the opposite , going off….
as you say the soloq need that (matchmaking needs to get better, leavers, leaderboard concerns, hotjoin invaders, random maps etc) … right now the mm system is the worst I’ve seen, worst than LOL.. is that posible? xD
2v2 arenas always bring me back to the days of season 5 world of warcraft, where all you had to do was play a deathknight and you’d be granted the gladiator title for absolutely no effort. GW2 doesn’t really have the balance for a 2v2 arena either, but I could see 3v3 possibly working.. (Altho dual necro + bunkerguardian mirrors would be dull after awhile).

i would love the arena mode in gw2 cuz imo is the best mode for a skill based match, but right now atleast 2vs2 imposible.. maybe 3vs3 or more… but somethings must change or the matches ll last max 1 min.. there is too damage and 0 cc/ heal
