I love everyone above me in this thread.

OP that was a fantastic kittening post there sir.
I kinda want to tell you to xpost to general and get some exposure, but i don’t want to tell people to do things that will get them infracted.
Keep up the good posting!
Heh. The funny part is our strongest build, conditions, has absolutely no synergy with any trait line outside of curses.
This is what irks me the most, out of everything. And by “irks” i mean infuriates and saddens me.
I could deal with bugged skills – they just need a fix.
But the fact that NONE of our various trait lines synergise or support each other.
Look at ANY other class, and there is logical ways to support your main trait choice, backed up by minor traits that actually FEEL useful
I think it is painfully obvious by now that nothing was designed with Necromancers in mind – not even the class itself.
Whoah buddy, what is this thread? Stop fomenting discussion!
Don’t you know DS is already OP and you need to L2P!
Lets all hope Karl was just warming up by answering what is possibly the most obvious and non-necromancer specific question ever posted in the Necromancer forum.
And once warmed up, will then go on to provide solid feedback, communication and just general interaction with the Necromancer forum as whole.
Fingers crossed!
who am i kidding, we are still likely boned
There are other issues with the minion system, but even having the option to toggle aggressive/passive would be a huge quality of life improvement.
There is just so many bugs with the minions there is no point using them, except as a gimmick that works 1/10 times you try (exploding them)
A simple “Attack Target” command
and
a simple “Stop Attacking and come back to my side and stay there and for kittens sake where are you going now, no come back here and don’t run off and attack anything else either just cause you feel like it. I don’t care if it is a champion. kitten”
Hi Everyone,
This thread is to raise awareness within the community of the plight of the games most maligned and unloved class; the humble Necromancer.
From promising beginnings in the early BWE events, the class was heavily nerfed time and time again, until it’s once glorious potential was a shattered husk of a class.
Hope was given by statements that the class was top of the list for review, and that the class was not where the developers wanted it and there was room for improvement.
Sadly, as the BWE’s came to a close, the only changes had been severe nerfs various weapon skills, with buffs or changes that would reflect the previous statements – in fact the nerfs and changes seemed to fly in the face of the previous comments.
Since release a deathly silence has reigned over the Necromancer forum, the howls and cries and please and gentle sobs going unanswered, aside from being told that Deathshroud is OP and that they just need to L2P but that wasn’t even in a post in the Necromancer forum.
Please have a quick read of this thread – this is the current state of the class:
Next time you pass a Necromancer in game, just stop a second and give them a hug, or an encouraging word.
We really do appreciate it!
Necromancer brothers and sisters – do not let us be silenced! Confined as we are to our forum, our voices are not heard and the only response is the forlorn echo of our very own cries! Let your voice be heard!
Thankyou everyone for your time!
So far I'm not satisfied with Warrior damage. Does anyone have any advice?

Well written, good sentence structure and very polite wording without being too obvious. Comes across as a little earnest perhaps, which might act in OP’s favour getting responses.
3/10
Jagged Horrors: Distract foes by running at them whilst bleeding themselves to death. The self afflicted bleed has been scaled to ensure that the Jagged Horror dies before reaching the target so as not accidentally cause damage
“You will melt faces with Mind Flay Deathshroud”
I am not sure what you mean by consolidation.
Do you mean the pages and pages of threads collected all in the one place, that being the Necromancer forum – any threads made in the General forum get moved or deleted quick smart.
Do you mean the sticky thread with a neatly compiled and maintained list of all currently identified issues.
I will have to closer look through the Ranger forum more, but there seems to be less consolidation of Ranger complaints in that forum than there has been in this Necromancer forum.
I am not sure what you are suggesting we do differently to get a response from a dev?
Direct damage component has been removed from all Necromancer weapon skills as this was decided to be contrary to class design as the première condition class
Condition damage on Necromancer weapon skills has been raised to account for removal of direct damage component
Necromancer applied bleeds now scale to apply 2% of indicated condition damage rating instead of 5% as occasionally other classes were being killed in 1v1 after the Necromancer had been downed. This was not intended behaviour
Necromancer applied condition duration from all sources has been halved
If you want to be a minion necromancer, why aren’t you using the minion elite ?
You mean the minion elite that :
- Desummons if you accidently enter the water
- Refuses to attack targets you are actively attacking (and simply stands beside you)
- Eagerly runs 50m away from the road to attack an enemy you were not in combat with, nor had any desire to fight
- Instantly dies to any AOE
To be fair, most of these complaints apply to all minions, but the fact still stands the minion elite skill is a massive pain to use compared to the other elites, which are actually kind of cool.
I think more people are annoyed that ANet effectively ret-conned a known and listed bug into a “feature”
And I think most people are scared that instead of getting the fixes and tune ups to the class promised during the BWE’s that ANet are going to just change all the tool tips to indicate that intended behaviour is intended and not in any way a bug
All of this uncertainty and rage could of course be avoided and placated if there was some communication with the Necro community.
Most of us really really really want the class to be fixed, because we like the whole idea of the class and don’t want to switch to something else
Just Necro
I would direct you to the Necromancer sub-forum, but there is no need to drag more people into our sad sad little world.
Roll a thief or warrior or guardian, they seem to be the bees knees and have things like traits that support their various builds.
Oh yeah! That is correct! Those classes have multiple viable different builds! So you can play how you want, and not be pigeon-holed into certain sub-standard builds simply because there is no “good” option!
Life-steal traits now correctly heal enemies for <0.05% of damage dealt. Self-Healing has been removed as this was not intended
I have learnt that Deathshroud is OP and I just need to L2P!
(Necro’s are fine, user was infracted for this post)
We spoke too soon!
(at least they only moved it)
Plague and Lich Form tooltips now correctly state:
“Entering this form destroys all minions and removes spectral effects”
See we were wrong when we thought you could use minions, as a Necromancer!
What a silly idea!
Plague and Lich Form now correctly state:
“Entering this form destroys all minions and removes spectral effects”
And you guys thought you could use minions, as a Necromancer! What a silly idea!
I know right!
I was infracted and had a post deleted earlier though, because i had the gall to warn someone in another thread to expect the same treatment if they started another thread about our ongoing issues.
(if you read dev posts, Ranger/Necro are being fixed soon, Ranger fix alone is expected next patch).
Source on Necro being fixed there champ?
Because we haven’t gotten ANY response, at all, from a dev, aside from the wonderful “DS is OP, L2P nub” comment a while back.
All we have had is infractions and deleted threads
This is some kind of bullkitten. Someone makes a post about Necros and it remains on the Discussions page. There were two topics about the lack of love for Rangers, which excites LOTS of discussion and it immediatly gets moved to the Rangers forum.
Nothing against you OP, it just seems a bit unfair that rangers are getting shafted.
Similar Necro threads in the past short while have been locked and the OP infracted for them, not just moved.
I understand that no ANet employees are allowed to visit the Necromancer forums, much less post there, so I have linked the appropriate post here for your consideration.
If you get caught looking, just tell them you thought it was about an issue with Warriors and it needed to be looked at ASAP and everything will be fine.
Seriously though, even just an update to let us know someone is looking at our class. It is fine to post it here – so you don’t even have to go to our forum
…
In the meantime, I have rolled a thief that I generally main now. I bring this up only a comparison.Choosing traits for it is a delight. I feel like there are few bad choices and a lot of great choices.
I don’t feel that way on the Necro. Instead, I feel as if I need to optimize what I have using traits that I feel to be a tad meh. I think trait for trait we have some of the least compelling choice. Moreover, they seem to be randomly placed in the various lines at times.
…
This is exactly how i felt when i re-rolled and made a thief. I breezed through the low levels, got my first trait point and sat there trying to decide where to put it.
There were no bad options
What is this wizardry! Why is my necro not like this!
For all the bugs, this is personally what saddens me more – even if they fix all the bugs, and all the traits work as intended, we will still be left with tratis and bonuses that appear to have been done at the 11th hour with absolutely no plan.
Compared to other games and other companies, Mr. Vaughan (pardon any spelling errors) has put more into this forum than any other game I’ve ever seen.
Ever.
So… let’s thank him. Even if we criticize.
Please.
You have posted this to the completely wrong forum Sir.
As others have mentioned, we got a “thanks for the list of bugs” for the list of bugs that have been around since the Beta Weekends, and have been faithfully reported by ever more depressed necromancers since that time.
Then we got a “Necro is fine; L2P” but that wasn’t even posted in this forum. That was posted in the PvP forum.
3+ heavy bleeders, but yeah…
So any 3 professions that can stack “heavy” bleeds, like for instance Rangers, Warriors and Thieves.
What about the “condition” class, the Necromancer?
Which at the moment, is unable to stack or maintain bleeds at anywhere near the same level as those three professions mentioned above?
Is this slightly dysfunctional imbalance being looked at as part of the condition damage issue?
How are we supposed to know which problems you’re referring too? If this forum has shown me anything, it’s that the average complaint thread is about something that’s completely biased, wrong, or a misunderstanding of how this game works.
You obviously have not checked the sticky on the Necromancer forum.
Here is a link:
Just to save you counting, that is 5 full posts of bugs for the one class. Not only that, but bugs that have been tested and confirmed by the OP of the thread and many others.
In fact, it was that post that kicked of the bug stickies for other classes.
So very, very, very far from “…biased, wrong, or a misunderstanding of how this game works”.
edit: I just wanted to also mention, there are so many bugs, that the OP of has gone back and added tags to the bugs so they can keep track of them.
As you can see from the title of that post, there is 90 confirmed actual bugs, and 9 Tooltips that are incorrect.

The Thief can realistically only do this two, three, or four times in a short period as Cloak and Dagger has a 6 initiative cost while the utility skills have a pretty long cooldown.
10 points into Shadow Arts makes all stealth skills give you two initiative, so CnD costs a net 4 initiative.
15 points into Trickery increases the initiative cap by 3.
20 points into Shadow Arts increases the initiative regen by 1/3 seconds while in stealth.
20 points into Acrobatics increases initiative regen by 2/10 seconds.
20 points into Critical Strikes grants 2 initiative on signet use.
‘Roll for Initiative’ grants 6 initiative on use.
’Infiltrator’s Signet’ increases initiative regen by 1/10 seconds.….
Holy Heck!
Look at that screenshot! Look at the Thief hitting 4k damage on Steal! That must be a trait that gives the class ability, Steal, a damage component!
If only Necro’s had something like that! Wait we do! We have a trait that gives the DS fear a damage component!
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Terror
Oh, it hits for only a couple of hundred damage at level 80? Really?
Anyway, moving on!
Look at those traits! Look at those major trait slot selections!
Look at how they are worthwhile choices! They give a relevant and useful bonus to a particular skill or class of skills!
Look at how they are related to a particular play style! They are all bonuses to a player wanting to use a lot of stealth and high initiative cost skills to support using stealth and burst damage!
It’s like a Thief can decide how he wants to build his character, and then is able to make logical choices with skill and trait selection, backed up by some synergistic utility skills, and just build his character like that.
The OP was saying that the Thief’s Burst damage from stealth was what was wrong with WvW.
Incorrect.
What is wrong, from a Necro’s point of view, is that the person who is playing that Thief has the ability to build an effective character build.
And not only build an effective character, but build an effective character to play in the way he or she wants to play.
Out of all the classes, the trait selection that a Necro has is possibly the farthest thing from synergistic or worthwhile.
And that is what is wrong with the Necromancer class. For reference see the bug post stickied on this forum.
FIVE whole posts with different bugs.
