Yes! This! Highly agree with it. Gives more reason to keep playing and less of that, “I’m starting all over again…sigh..” feeling. You will instead of that feeling that you’re not losing everything, but building onto a foundation instead.

Did the original Guild Wars "flop"?

The game’s 7 years old with no major content update for 2 years. Of course it’ll see reduced player activity, especially after gw2 came out. That does not mean the game flopped though, it’s just natural people move on after some time.

Arena Net please balance pvp and professions.

You forgot to tell them how as well. Without your opinion on how such a suggestion might be implemented it doesn’t serve much purpose.

As for the suggestion: How? The more simple ways are not usually the best. Taking away those skills would probably cause more harm, so I’m curious what ideas you’re thinking of that could not only get rid of this 1 second instant death (that i know how it feels), but to also make it fair for everyone else too.

Hopefully this post doesn’t sound too harsh, it’s hard to get voice across on text.

I don't like how this game handles gear.

I did play RO ages ago. The grind was unbearable. I do agree that having unique effects for upgradeables is a good idea. We do have that with runes to an extent, but it would be nice to see more options. It would be similar to equippable traits.

Your argument is flawed.

You state that you can’t start working towards end game gear in early game, but you do. You buy end game gear with Karma, which you start earning at level 1. This whole post is moot.

Also, RO was utter tripe.

To be fair, the amount of karma that you make early on is so negligible that I don’t think it sums up to anything significant when it comes to, let’s say, 42k karma exotic gear.

True. I had about 9200 or so at lvl 40without spending a single piece. In less than a day i made 20k doing zerg runs in straits..

Why Are There So Many Bugged/Frozen Events? (DEs)

It’s hard to fix something that didn’t break. Would you fix the wheels on your car if they’ve never had a problem for 2 years? Don’t see a reason to if it’s already working.

Magic Find Mechanics Details

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I think the mechanics of magic find should be changed to something like;

“it doesn’t exist”

I pretty much agree with this. We have no way of inspecting players to determine what they’re using, nor any sort of meters to help see who is pulling their weight. The fact that someone you pick up to run a dungeon with might be decked out entirely in magic find gear that is benefiting him to the detriment of the group is pretty lousy.

In Diablo 3 MF was averaged across all group members so that one person valuing MF over anything else would still help everyone by giving them added MF, even if their contributions in terms of damage were subpar. Certainly Diablo 3 did many things wrong, but I think it did that part right. Either changing it to average MF across your group or ridding the game of the stat entirely (and then replacing it with some precision/toughness/vitality gear XD) seems like a good idea.

MF isn’t shared between people in d3 anymore.

Most Overplayed Class?

Guardian and Warriors are the most overplayed. I always see giant, male norn and charrs running into battle with greatswords.

So what's with not having a build saving feature?

We’re going to have this feature later. We’ll be able to save up to 3 builds.

Things that irk me

Greed? Did I not pay for this game like everyone else? The black widow pet is only available to the best of my knowledge through the HoM, how is that fair to every other ranger in game?

So by your logic the only way to support the game is to have played the first one….even tho the first one could hardly be considered a MMO in any sense of the word.

Why do people feel entitled? Because they paid for the game that’s why. If the HoM was explained properly to begin with that would be one thing, yes they said people who played first game would be able to get blah blah blah, also said that it would be available to all players. Being able to go to some musty ruin is not what new players would have expected.

The point is this….. the second I spent money on the game I showed my loyalty in both actual game purchase plus gem store purchases. Maybe if the first game had been more playable I would have played it. I’ve been playing MMO’s since EQ1 and thus have made a lot of friends through playing MMO’s 90%, of whom couldn’t stand the first GW and how the game play was set up.

So what if you played the first one, it does not make you special, the past is the past and if this game is going to succeed all players new or old should be treated as equal. You can argue your points with me all day, not going to change my opinion lol.

The first one isn’t an mmo. Why do people say it is? When has it, or ever will be an mmo? The dev team even told people it wasn’t one, it was a CRPG. It’s like calling iRacing an mmo when it’s not.

Thank you for the forums! Game feels complete now!

Amen. I’m so glad to finally not have to go to unofficial forums. All they need to add are sub-forums for each server.

That’s a good idea! It should be private to the server you are on too…you know to keep out spies for WvW!

It’d probably be hard to do that. That, and it’d make a part of the forum that is supposed to be open and free to all a lot more restricted. So just because your friend chose yak’s bend he should be punished and restricted from viewing the one you’re in? That idea would be better on an unofficial forum instead of this one. It’s good to stick to a single them instead of multiple.

Guild Armor too pricey.

The guild picture won’t go on gloves and boots. It’s part of an armor set. An armor set is a collection of 6 pieces of armor that look better together instead of mixing 6 different pieces. It’s the difference between painting a nice looking car in a nice black/white color instead of red, blue, pink, green, yellow, and black. One is going to look a bit better or pleasing on the eyes to most.

And to me it’s not expensive. I’m not rich, but months from now people will have plenty of gold. It won’t stay expensive for long.

The one thing I will agree on though is the preview. I wanted to preview it but had to look at the wiki. I was lucky to find a female asura in it, but the other two pictures I found of heavy/light were low quality. Previewing would be a nice thing.

Travel cost at higher lvls

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

kroney.9462

I discussed this with my guild and we all agreed it was to expensive. As a result most of us walk to every location which is wasted time in my opinion.

Coming from the ability to move across Tyria, Cantha, and Elona in GW1 for FREE it is rather difficult to be paying 1-3 silver whenever you want to go join a friend in another zone.

Another negative is that when you die you are hit with a repair fee and a waypoint fee, hope this gets changed.

I agree. I want to play with lower levels but paying 6S for a one way trip is high. I can see if it was 2S one way, considering i’m nearly traveling across the map, but 6S is steep.

What I would prefer is a 2S cap at lvl 80. This still takes money out, but you can more freely move to another location more often to help others. Afterall, isn’t the main point of this game is to come together and make friends? Helping friends matter too.

Don't like it: SPvP and being switched to other side before winning

I do agree there needs to be a limit.. I took time to kill both monsters for my team only to be switched at 496 to 220.. I lost a match because of a system that forced me to switch.

After a certain number of point it should just not switch you. Why should I be punished if I’m helping my team win? Makes no sense.
