Had some very good fights against KN guilds (especially WM).
For the past 3 weeks I had much fun and I am sure many other Beasts did too.
So thank you KN and TC.
Personally I dont like seeing existing players move across servers.
But for any new player who is looking for a good server and a place like home.

I have to agree after playing against KN for the last few matches they are nothing but class. Good fun fights with respect on the forums. Just read through the matchup thread and you will see for yourself. But also TC loves Blackgate. Our T2 fights have been amazing. I would recommend either server. Can’t wait to fight either of you again!

If you use greatsword the swoop skill is an easy way to get around fast as long as you have auto target off.
On my power/crit gear set I have the Rune of the Centaurs equipped on each piece, everytime you use a heal skill you gain swiftness.
Using this and my warhorn I and those near me have almost constant swiftness.
I didn’t “get served” by proof, I politely asked for proof and he provided it. I’m sick of people complaining about thieves with nothing to back it up.
Thanks for being one of the few people around who can back up what you say. I have about that much toughness on my Necro too but I haven’t died to a solo thief in a very long time. Death Shroud helps with that I guess. Do engineers have any instant-cast protection or healing?
It is nice to see people able to give and receive proof maturely without getting worked up about it.
@Opynn well played on taking screenshots. This happens to me a lot also despite being in full toughness/vitality gear and spec, I just haven’t had the diligence to screenshot my combat logs
I only use barrage to slow people down, I realize the small damage tick on it won’t kill anyone unless they are almost dead. I have however enjoyed targetting a squishy person and using QZ with rapid fire and sharpening stone in my power/crit gear. :P
A simple acknowledgement of map numbers would bring the frustration of your players down a lot. We don’t want to be left in the dark about what’s going on just a little light on the situation please.
I want to love my ranger. I really do. And in pve they are great. I can solo alot of content out in Tyria. Dungeons … Eh i go with a group i know because they seem to undstand pet problems, and bring me along more as a person that keeps mumble interesting instead of what i can do for the group. Wvw. I am trying to stick it out in wvw. It’s mediocre stuff we offer, others seem to better at well everything. I feel a huge victory when I do survive a fight against someone else not up leveled. The person I’m going against is probably not a great pvp’er but meh I’ll take what I can get. I use guard to take down siege when I can. Haters can hate us for using that but I’m using that skill till they nerf it out of my dead rangers hand. We could be awesome. Sooo many great suggestions for fixing issues. Now if they would just implement them I would be one happy girl.
And really any class that is well played can solo camps it’s not really a big accomplishment. Meh.
I have never played a Mesmer, but Mesmer portal I have to say are one thing I dont want nerfed. I am glad you didn’t call nerf on that skill.. They make gameplay exciting, portal bombs are extremely fun, especially if you are outnumbered. Sweeping for them in a keep is no big deal for those on my team. And if we don’t sweep well enough shame on us.
The rest well that is up for the next posters, but I just wanted my 2 cents in as a person that doesn’t play one but still loves what they can do for my team.
Gottfaust, when the real reason for all of this shakes out you are going to look like even more of a clown than you do now. It’s one thing to not even acknowledge the problem that so many other players experience, but to portray your theory as fact is far beneath your supposed technical credentials. Everything you have written is rank supposition, most of which doesn’t even fit the breadth of evidence at hand.
When he said “so I don’t know where in the map those players are when you’re looking for them, but they’re definitely in there somewhere” players could be in the jumping puzzle, afk at towers/keeps/spawn, solo/pug players looking for solo fights, players who don’t give a kitten to respond to map chat but they are there in the map somewhere. Stop asking them to acknowledge the problem when they said there isn’t any problem at all.
He also posted this before the reset, since then the problem seems to be compunding out of control. I would like an update to this. LOL at 120+ ppl in the JP.
This was a minor annoyance that was just becoming noticable after the patch and before the reset. Now there are numerous thread/servers having the same issue with a queue while also having an outmanned buff???
Having a queue and having an outmanned buff sounds normal to me. What’s the issue with that?

It’s not the amount of communication it’s the complete lack of it. I just don’t understand… This was one of the biggest selling games of 2012, Yet the amount of manpower focused on keeping the community informed is nil. Wth? Am I the only one confused by the lack of customer communicators? Is there not a small department at Anet that should be dedicated to this? Even if they are not devs, they can be the go betweens between the designers and those needing questions answered, real issues that need attention, or future update fixes. (and not moderators because they just monitor forum rabble) That to me just good business sense. Please anyone listening?

I’m going to have to strongly disagree with you op. Explain queues on a map with outmanned. Or queues on a map entirely owned by another server and barely anyone in spawn despite commanders asking to rally there or pressing 1 in map chat for head count. Your telling me I can’t see everyone because of ….. Culling? So are they all harvesting? Or some suggest the jump puzzle – um even though we don’t own the keep? Lol post like this make >.< GOM isint experience this I’m assuming, but feel free to pop over to TC to see for yourself.
I set down all my spirit buffs in one corner of the tower we were defending in our borderlands. It made a beautiful garden that really added to the feng shui Of the keep. Being from an RP server the defenders got a slight morale boost from it so I would say the spirits added somewhat to the fight…. I’ll see if I can post pics later
I bet that will just leave the “randoms” more lost because I’m sure every commander just like to work with their own guild/group.
I’ve even saw a commander (No names or guilds will be said) say once: “Whoever isn’t from my guild, please follow the other commander, not me”.
That happens on my server all the time. If the commander had the option of making their tag visible only to the squad following them they wouldn’t have to say that out loud. That way the randoms looking for a tag to follow would gravitate to the blue dorito that still needs people.
I wish there was another way to obtain commander. Any one with 100g can get it, they don’t even have to understand the basics of wvw. There are some amazing commanders and then those that make you want to bang your face on your keyboard. If tags were somehow obtainable by experience then we would see a lot more veteran players that should have the tag. Some of those hardcore wvw’ers don’t have 100g to buy a blue Dorito tag, they are too busy paying for siege and upgrades.
I really like this idea. Then the Commander can decide if the Zerg following him/her is big enough to accomplish the goals they have and not keep attracting more people that could be working elsewhere on the map with a different commander.
Remember as a new player you will make some mistakes but everyone does, just stick it out for a bit and you won’t know how you played gw2 without wvw.
Ps. Taking supply from a tower hinders its ability to upgrade since the workers in the tower or keep use the supply in it to upgrade. It’s always a safe bet to just grab your supply from a supply camp nearby. Try not to use the keep/tower supply unless it’s an emergency(ex it’s under attack and then only in defense of it like repairing the gate). Taking supply from your keep once it’s fully upgraded, yaks are still delivering supply to it and it’s not under attack is fine too.
If they are calling for help and there are no queues you can still make a lot of difference to your team. Don’t forget that siege weapons don’ t care what level you are, they still put out the same dps numbers no matter who is running them. Combo fields, that extra dps, and supply running are all things you can contribute. You will just find it difficult if you roam solo. Get in there and start participating!
Although they seem to have a lot of manpower focused on loot bugs, fractal levels, guesting and visual art bugs. You know the recent content stuff that’s really more important than our longstanding class issues….
There are so many issues this game needs to be fixed (just head over to the ranger or wvw forums to see for yourself). The last thing we need is the devs focused on some new level increasing content instead of spending their time wisely fixing what needs to be fixed.
Pets teleport to target and immediately start attacking
If the target dodges attacks that is fine but they should not be able to evade pet attack skills if they are running away from the pet (that is if they are going the same speed as pet)
Huge Aoe reduction
Better pathing in dungeons, or invisible to npcs unless we attack that target first.
What I wouldn’t give for an elite ability that allowed us to pull out a pack of pets at once.
Every time I log on this thread keeps making its way to the top… Are people still hoping for the “significant changes” to ranger promised 3 months ago? I got sad reading through the “thank you, your awesome posts that slowly degraded into the wtf it’s been two months now what’s going on…” Comments. Devs if your gonna post something like this then back it up please stop keeping your community on the “to do eventually” list.
I definitely use them. Since they start their attacks without running into the middle of aoe (ex siege outside of a keep situation) they survive alot longer then say my jaguar. Plus they have a fair amount of health for a pet so I really like them.
Actually now that you mention it this happens in our guild all the time. Though they have logged out their blue dot is still in our wvw map. I wonder if their not registering as logged out of wvw properly? It might answer the question of queue times.
I play ranger because I love the feel of what It is, mobility, survival skills ect. Sometimes I like pets, sometimes I wish I could store them without losing dps. I don’t know of any other class that has to put 30% of its dps (or more depending on spec) on passive/stow in fear of hurting their group.
About pets. some people like them other rangers want that damage for themselves instead of having to micromanage an npc. Why can’t the player have the choice of what they would like to play through trait lines? I don’t think it would be such a big deal to give them the option of playing a ranger how you see fit as a player. (ex. a staff ele and I are in a tower trying to kill rams outside) they start using their skills. If I want full 100% of my characters dps i need to put guard on my toolbar send the pet down, then attack with my own skills. But the aoe is harsh so i have to pull them back, then send them back. Meanwhile ele is using 100% dps power np. ) Whats wrong with having the option to stow pets for buffs to self?
Because then you essentially become a warrior, not a ranger. If you want that, re-roll to warrior and you can have it.
That’s exactly my point, when players first make rangers alot of them think they will be making a ranged char. But its really a char with a ranged pet, mediocre ranged damage and great melee skills. I would think that a warrior wouldn’t be better with ranged then us but apparently they can out dps a ranger at range? weird imo Thats not what I would think the description of a warrior would be either.
^ Search and Rescue revives dead players as well as downed. I also would like to hear a dev say “yep this is your skill use it!” I don’t like the idea that someone could be banned without warning one day for using it.

Switching to an alt, I came back after a 5 minute queue. So where are the other 80-110 people? Harvesting? lol its just the experience of us that have waited in queue for a seemingly empty map. Maybe, just maybe there is something wrong when all of us are noticing it? <Maybe?
Do they give advanced notice somewhere? Everyone always seems so surprised when they drop these updates on us. 3 minutes is not much of a warning imo. Give us at least an hour countdown in game. Every 15 minutes until the last 5 and then every minute. This would really help to remind us that we have a set number of minutes left to try to accomplish our goals before you shut us down.
Let me offer a counter suggestion to those of us who feel abused by our commanders due to the ability of certain skills (*cough: swirling winds, *cough: portal )… Have a non-racial/non-class specific utility tree available to all players which would include skills such as portal and swirling winds.
I’ll leave the creative thinking up to you as… hang on Air #4 off colldown treb shot incoming… I’m sure some pretty crazy ideas would show up.

This is actually a very creative idea! wvw trait skill tree with the ability to spec into something useful to your team? I’m not sure how it would work but I like the thought of it. Also swirling winds can be countered by hitting just in front of the wall instead of right at it. The elementalist would need to jump down to provide protection to the wall and open themselves up to attack. Thieves and guardian have an skill that can block Treb shots too. So you would need to lump them into this also. I think im going to call nerf on nerfs. Give us more skills not take them away please. Perhaps ideas like the above could give more skills for countering them instead?
Maybe make orange swords on player vs player fighting and not npcs?
Otherwise, do what smart ninja groups do an run with a group that knows enough not to attack npcs with more than 4 people or hit walls/doors and pop orange swords
I don’t know how its happening but I have to agree with this. Yesterday there was a 5 minute queue on TCBL when I was switching alts. As I logged back in the commander was asking everyone to come to the citadel WP. After what seemed forever waiting and calling all TC’ers there was approx 20 people there and a handful doing their own thing elsewhere. We had no towers or camps… sor had them all. Yet with only the handful of us there, there was still a 5 minute queue… I dont know but something isint right.
Also how outnumbered do we have to be to get the outmanned buff?
Commander : “Quick after we ninja this camp, build the golem I throw down. As soon as its built port it to spawn point”
(after its built new guy pops in it)
New Guy: “Hey look! Im a robot!”
Commander: " Golem dude quick wp to spawn point"
New Guy: "Hey look what it can do haha this is awesome: (does the spin thing a bunch)

We could have all got mad, but instead we ended up laughing hysterically for some reason at how fun golems can be to new players. We were tired I think.
