yeah its become pretty clear to me that deso is not the server i wanted it to be. And ye i did actually come back from NA recently an i enjoyed how they did wvw wayy more but im not abandoning my guild

Gunnars is a server full of roamers – nice people in general. And yeah, whenever we had an argument it has been solved within a minute – the server I have been the longest to – for a reason.
But what they lack is indead PuG commanders.
But if you’re leading don’t wonder if a bunch of them start to chase single enemies, I guess it’s in their blood. So you need a bit of patience as PuG zergs are rather rare.

You could also come have a look at RoF, I feel there is a new spirit from the community atm that is willing to progress in WvW.

Yesterday were losing hard point-wise. Today the guild I’m in (that transfered from AG a HoT start) decided to give everything and we (with the help of other guilds when needed) managed to cap en secure a lot in Borderlands. At the moment of writing those lines we are at 370 points per tick while this morning we were at less than 100 points per tick. It feels great to see that effort as a guild have an impact on the server as a whole.

Number-wise we are not in advantage but we have quite a lot of good players and manage to win fights when massively outnumbered.

Man thats what i want. I remember the days i used to go to sleep after capping the map and our points ticking high then the excitement and motivation i had when i awoke an was we was being out capped again! Man i was right on there gathering up player to defend our server! Thats what i miss and want again. I just dont get that feeling with deso

I spent three or four months on Aurora Glade as a commander. I can say the first two months I enjoyed, but the amount of infighting between guilds, cancerous map chat rants, teamspeak rants, and just general toxicity drove me away in my final month/two months. You would have people trying to tag over you at certain times, the guild I was in, WIN, lead EB reset, yet nearly everytime someone from two guilds demanded they tag down; despite us following the site rules etc and agreeing it in the meeting, which these two guilds were present in (not gonna guild bash at all here).

You may enjoy Aurora Glade, I know I did for the first two months. Brilliant community at first, but now it has the worst players from SFR on the server. The core of Aurora Glade are some of the nicest people you would ever meet, but the bandwagoners are cancer. I bet there will be toxic salt replies to this, don’t care. I wont be checking this thread.

Gunnars Hold are and continue to be the nicest community I have been in. My main is currently on desolation, and my alt is on Gunnars. I am given a warm welcome when I come onto teamspeak or wvw in game and a warm exit when I leave. There has been no toxicity, no arguments, no lying or backstabbing, no drama, nothing bad has happended in the four months I have been part of their community. Aurora Glade has many of these problems, drama, lying, arguments, cancer.

I have only been on desolation a month so far, but I see no reason why you would want to leave. Deso has a strong community feeling, and friendly atmosphere the majority lf the time.

From a wvw perspective Gunnars is really strong. Fun public raids and wipes are not a regular occurance IMHO. Strong nightcap but lack of players during offpeak hours. Lots of fun guilds on Gunnars, [MM] [COPS] being my favourites. Gunnars is a very passionate server to fight for. Dedication from commanders is amazing.

TL;DR? Don’t go Aurora Glade, or leave Deso. But if you leave Deso, go Gunnars. Best people I know, Purr baby <3

love you reply thank you! I used to be apart of MM so i kno how cool them guys are. The main reason i want to leave deso is i want something to work for in wvw. Knowing we will always win is boring to me. I want a challenge

Hey guys i currently reside on Desolation. I’m tired of constantly being 1st place with no sense of anything to work towards. I want a server i can come command in and make a difference and have something to aim for. So what is Gunnars Hold like from a wvw perspective ( also know every server is a bit quite right now with HoT) Guess i’m looking for a server to have a bit of passion for when i fight. I am open to other suggestions too. I’m not after winning every week but id like to have a fighting chance and work for it. Win because of skill and good commanding not just pure numbers

Hey guys im currently on desolation server and all it seems to be now is 1 zerg from each server on EB fighting each other all the time, thats it. No small little groups capping or anything.
Im thinking id enjoy joining a lower pop server where i could make a bigger impact commanding on and have that fun of moving up the tiers due to skill and not just huge numbers.

Im From the UK so id like a English based server. Could you let me know what your servers are like and if it might be a nice new home for and a few friends

I salvaged about 6 ascended rings and got no dark energy. However, a friend of mine just salvaged on ascended armor piece and got one. So, I think there is something to that. However, it would be very disappointing salvaging an ascended armor piece and not getting one.

Ive won about 3 tournaments now and im reciveing no chest or reward in any way, it started when i crashed once i won a game last night.

i love seeing my ears personally. if any change can be made it is to let us to dye the armor

The only thing putting me off this new armor is its un dye-able. i have a blue and silver themed guard that i love, now if i want to use the new fire armor i will have to go black and red, same goes for my necro. atm it is green and black, but if i want to make the new light armor work right with it ill have to dye all my armor white. but let us dye the armor and the problem is solved

Necromancer downed health is now the correct amount in all formats on all characters.

The path of midnight trait (Reduce cd of all death shroud skill by 15%) is not reducing the cd of tainted shackles, on and off its still 40s cd

will torment just be added to our attacks as a condition or will we get new moves to apply it, if it gets added do we know the duration and what skill it will be added to?

if you didnt notice in the recent instance in LA the enemie npcs were wielding the new weapons set to some in with the new armor what i seen was the hammer, scepter sheild, 1h sword and mace

These are some really good tips tha lnks a lot guys. I know I’m not the type to rage at people I’d rather keep giving out positive vibes and messages. I think I just need to learn the best way of taking things and how to keep people with me. A lot of the times atm ill be running with a big Zerg then loose everyone.

Thank you these are some good tips. I think I do need to get out if that idea if being in the fight all the time. Would you say it’s better to stick to you main plan even if a huge Zerg appear it retreat to try and keep people alive.

Hey guys after playing wvw since launch and always wanted to be a commander. The time has come and I fainally have enough for the book. After having ago this morning we took a tower and a few camps but its a lot different and harder than I thought. I’m dedicated to getting this right but I just want to hear from more experienced commanders about tips and stratagies to go for.

i have my asura necro and its rocking the traditional necro look. but ive alwasy wanted the t3 helm. now i can final afford it im not sure how i feel about looking all my hair, i want to see your screenshots of your characters with the helm an your opinion

It’s tough. I like the hair on my Asura. I also love the style of the helm.

I think at night the helm looks better, while during the day hair is better.

Honestly, they need to let you have hair with it. Oh well. Hope my screenshots help you decide.

Of topic, but do you have tier 3 shoulders? Cus when previewing them they’re invisible on me.

I do, although I recall something to the effect that they were added to the chest piece to deal with some clipping (?) issue, so toggling the shoulders actually does nothing.

I can (I think) find the thread discussing this if you’re interested.

the shoulders are invisible on FEMALE asuras but not males, on males the shoulders are part of the chest peice….. why…. god knows, its stupid
