I just wanted to leave my feedback here, too. I’ve been playing GW2 for about two years now after coming from my first MMO The Lord of the Rings Online.

Now, i’m a massive Tolkien fan who has spent hours and hours reading his books and invested many days in learning the lore. When the LotRO game started to go downhill many of my friends started playing GW2, so I thought i’d give it a go.

I began playing, really enjoying both my personal story and exploration. From reading map chats and forums I learnt there was a lot more to Tyria than I realised. I decided to read up on its lore using the books, wiki, and asking by asking questions. I became absolutely hooked.

Needless to say, with the LS I hoped for a lot since Tyria, like Middle Earth, seemed to be the main character. It has a past, present and a future. But honestly, I have been disappointed. I began to feel like i’d missed out hugely by not playing GW1 in its prime and that all the rich, intricate, and interesting lore had been stripped away from the game.

With this patch it finally feels like i’m experiencing what i’ve longed to see for almost two years, and it feels as though my character is actually making a difference too. I got the same feeling from Glint’s Lair as I did when my LotRO character first walked into the Mines of Moria or Lothlórien.

I see my female human guildies get excited when a new armor skin/outfit comes out but it is always awful for asura. Why can’t we have a butterfly? Why couldn’t we wear a dress? Why couldn’t we have a few feathers on the phoenix armor? It is so frustrating. I am not asking for an elaborate skimpy outfit, if I (and probably most charr/asura players) wanted skimpy and revealing we sure as kitten would have rolled humans/norns. I just don’t want default male skins all the time.

On a similar note I must also add that the raiment of the lich is pretty disgusting. Them nipple clamps…ack.

I was really looking forward to payday so I could re-roll my guardian to a human. I knew i’d need bag slots, gold, and other bits and pieces, so I had planned to buy a ton of gems to get my new guard geared somewhere near to my main guard that I already have at cap. But to be honest, I have struggled to find the motivation when the thought of obtaining traits came to my mind (i’ve done these “quests” twice already) and found the price of them at the vendor too high for my tastes. Just as i’d pushed myself to re-roll, this patch hit and I just can’t find the motivation anymore. So no, I won’t be buying gems. My asura guard will suffice. It is becoming more and more of a chore to level these days.

I understood some of the logic behind the changes (traits and the new levelling system), but this is only for new players. It would be nice to be given a scroll of some kind when you have a character that reaches 80 that you can use on an alt. Auto-level to 20-30 and unlocks all traits (except for the grandmaster ones). That way “veteran” players can still have their alts (and those veterans that prefer to experience the game through the eyes of a new players can still do so) without feeling like it is more trouble than its worth.

I’ll still play, I have a small group of friends who I have a laugh with doing a couple of dungeons and fractals each day, but honestly I can’t really see any need for me to actually invest money in this game anymore, which is a huge change from a year ago when I found this game a breath of fresh air and actually WANTED to throw my money at anet.

My opinion is from a casual-ish point of view and an alt-aholic.

- Make them cheaper to buy from trainers.
- Make trait unlocks account bound.

This new system, whilst I understand it will introduce new people to new parts of the game, is very off-putting, imo. I was going to buy an extra character slot during the sales but then remembered the mess that is traits and didn’t want the bother. And I love making alts!

There is a fine line between encouraging people to try new content and forcing people into content they hate or have done a thousand times already. So either significantly drop the cost of buying traits (it is way, way too much) or make unlocking them account bound.

I like the idea of having ‘quests’ which are unique to each profession to unlock a good trait. Something like a scavenger hunt to unlock a special trait at levels 25, 50 and 80, that would personalize it a lot and give a good sense of achievement.

It’s not just asura with copy n’ pasted face sylvari female have the same face from the previous update copied for the new 3 but just with some barley noticeable (if you zoom right in on there face) freckles.

Unfortunately this isn’t the only issue asura has Yes, the other races had a few copy-paste jobs adding make-up or patterns etc. The real issue (imo) is the fact that there is no difference between the male and female faces. It screams of a complete lack of interest and creativity toward this race.

Yeah I have to agree. I usually roll my eyes when I see posts saying “zomg anet devs hate this and this” but this is actually quite insulting, and has left me feeling that anet really are indifferent to asura

I mean, asura hairstyles in the kits have been amazing, really, I have loved all the new additions. And the faces on their own are quite nice (not to my taste), but I don’t think i’m alone in thinking that this is lazy and uninspired.

There are already many asura players calling for minor differences to be added in male/female clothing but now we also have to share faces as well…

Why anet? :/ Argh.

What usually happens is:
1. Human females get an beautiful armor designed.
2. Then the human males get the design but without the skimpiness.
3. These are then given to norn and sylvari in the same designs (male/female).
4. Then charr and asura get a simplified version of the male design.

Two of the most popular girly asura armors are the Twlight Arbor light set and the festive outfit. I think we can use those as a guide as to how girly light armor can be made. Medium and Heavy is a different story though.

I’ll use the gem store armor for ideas, although I wouldn’t want them to change it now because some of them aren’t that bad, my only reason for doing this is so see if there can be more feminine versions of the armor if anet wanted to.

Aetherblade Heavy: The human female version is very shapely. Asura, as usual, uses the human male version of this skin. Maybe by adding a belt (seen in the female one) or some of the nice lace decoration for the boots would help make this a bit different for female asura.

Aetherblade Medium: I see nothing skimpy about this on human female, they’re actually covered up more than usual. Maybe the female one could have had that skirt-shape (with the leggings underneath, of course) instead of the male model of it.

Aetherblade Light: Only really the midriff shown here on human female, easily covered up. Again, an asura female with the skirt shape and leggings/tights would look pretty cute.

Braham’s Heavy Armor: I guess that the female asura showing a bare chest is down to personal taste and opinion. I myself would never use this armor on my asura because it makes me feel uncomfortable, but to each their own. A version of this for asura female which covers the chest and maybe adds a little fur decoration would be fine. It is only the chest piece of this armor which makes it look quite feminine even on the human female.

Magitech Medium Armor Skin: This skin is one of my favourite medium armors on asura so i’d hate them to change it. But for the purposes of this post i’d suggest making this more feminine by adding the little medallion decoration that the human female has around the waist, and the horizontal stripes on the chest. Maybe make the head piece more delicate.

Phoenix Light Armor Skin: This armor, personally, really quite irks me. I see no reason why asura couldn’t have any sort of feather decoration. The shape for this armor on asura is one they’ve used a number of times in game and it really lacks creativity and imagination, but that is my personal opinion. To make it more feminine for those of us who wish for more difference in the male/female asura armor i’d suggest a bit of the feather decoration down the back of the pants (no need to show bare leg) and the gloves and shoulders to be exactly the same as the human female. Those frills are amazing, and i’m not quite sure why that would be much of a problem.

Phalanx Heavy-Armor Skin: I use this one on my female asura guardian, utterly love it (apart for the clipping). On human female it is very skimpy, on asura female it would be nice if we had the belt decoration and the swirly frill on the front.

Trickster’s Light-Armor Skin: Not really very skimpy even on human female. Larger, more exaggerated shoulders like the human version would be welcome. Maybe a more shaped skirt too, in the same shape of the festive/twilight arbor skirts.

Viper’s Medium-Armor Skin: Make the pants more like tights/leggings (i’m not saying nice, tight shapely legs to be shown off – not a chance) and the top slightly more flared to give if that more feminine look.

Strider’s Medium Armor Skin & Incarnate Light Armor Skin: Both these skins are gorgeous and I plan on buying both in the future for my female asuras. The detail is lovely. The only way to make these a bit more feminine, as i’ve mentioned above, is to flare the chest pieces slightly to give them that dress/skirt look. I suggest these often because the two most feminine looks you can get is either girly skirts/dresses or tight pants, and we should only be interested in the former for asura.

Rampart Heavy Armor Skin: No idea what to say about this. The shoulders could be made bigger and more decorative, but that is more of a suggestion for asura male and female. This armor lacks much difference even between the human male and female versions (that is actually a good thing) so it looks pretty much the same on all races.

I define girly on asura as dresses/skirts because the other option for feminine clothes is figure hugging shapely outfits which I don’t believe any of us would like to see on asura. Once again, the armors listed here don’t need changing and i’m not saying they do, i’m simply throwing ideas around on how, if anet was to do so, to make a female version of the armor a bit different.

Oh, don’t say that I came from another mmo where its devs/moderators were either overly secretive or very disrespectful when they spoke to us (most of the time we were completely blanked though), meaning a lot of players got disillusioned with the state of the game. I logged in to that game after a year and could not see one familiar face anywhere. When I found Guild Wars I was so happy about how anet communicated and chatted in their forums and acted like friends and fellow players instead of like self-appointed gods.

If what you say is true it would be awful. I’ve probably been fangirling anet a bit because they’ve been such a breath of fresh air to me, but to think they’d ignore all these unhappy customers would be really upsetting. The lack of response from them here after all these posts does make me feel uneasy though…

The Megaserver system was a good concept, but was poorly executed. You rolled out this new system without concern or forethought for the existing infrastructure you’ve built in GW2 for the last 2 years. As a result, many features about this game have been broken.
First off, World events are boring and nothing but a massive multi-instanced zerg from one to the next since there are no windowed spawns, etc. The once living world now is nothing but scheduled monotony. This zerging also causes absolutely crippling lag, fps issues, and many disconnect problems.

Second, as a guild leader I have seen guild missions fail spectacularly due to the megaserver system. Guilds do not have priority to be together on maps, not even when missions are going that have you on the clock. Now we waste precious time playing taxi while we get people to the same instance. Add to this the fact that now Many many guilds across many servers are all doing missions at the same time, making it nearly impossible to coordinate properly or take time preparing.

Third, I dont feel cities need to be in the mega server system at all, since they do not have any real value other than crafting/banking/forging, etc. No bosses spawn, nor events that need more players. Please leave cities of the grid so we can continue to interact with our server mates we have come to know.

And lastly, In my honest opinion, I believe this system should be shelved at the very least. Roll back, turn it off and fix all the issues first before “testing it out”. Megaserver has within one week, made the game so boring and sucked any fun out of PvE. It has given us more players, yes, but you have replaced Quality, with Quantity. Now we are nothing but mere numbers in a zerg. You have unfortunately turned PvE into a WvW zerg.

Please, we ask you, as your loyal players and fans, turn Megaservers off.

I feel completely lost in a sea of players. Everything which I loved about this game (speaking as a pver) has been stripped away. I tried hard to go with the flow, but 1 week on I feel incredibly disheartened and lacking in motivation to play.

Please turn it off anet, gw2 wasn’t made for this. Give us back what made gw2 unique and special, stop scheduling us for dynamic events. I want my poor but acceptable fps back. It was a good idea in theory, but it went from under populated…to nicely populated…to so-many-people-please-kitten-make-it-stoooop.

Yes exactly, and just adding to that I think medium, or low-population, servers are something that people do look for in an mmo. I know from experience that people (including myself) often prefer to play on a server that is of mid/low-population.

Personally I am feeling utterly overwhelmed and disheartened by the overly-crowded maps and zergs everywhere and have always gone out of my way to avoid them (guesting, time of day I play) Now my choice has been taken away.

The idea of the megaserver is great, but there has to be a middle ground here.

I understand the need for megaserver in pve maps where the population is low. I recently levelled 2 characters (pre-patch) and found certain maps quite humdrum and most certainly empty. But the insane amount of people now doing world bosses is ridiculous. I’ve never had any problem with lag, rendering or low fps but this is abysmal. A few things that really concern me:

- Too many people. It has gone from a decent amount for world bosses, to far, far too many (I understand that this might not have been the case on all servers).

- Orr temples are utterly destroyed. There is no way to track what is going on. I assume that Cursed Shore is now part of the megaserver, because it was just an ugly mess this morning. No communication at all. I had to turn off my english filter to see that it was just French people speaking. In fact it had just the opposite effect, it was like a ghost town. I suppose because no one knows when temples are starting now.

- Waypoints. Oh my kitten, waypoints. They are dreadful.

Yes, megaserver was needed in a handful of pve maps, but please do something about Orr temples, waypoints and the over the top amount of people that turn up to world bosses. Maybe its just me, but I kind of liked not having my computer want to implode whilst doing something like fire ele (yeah, yeah get a new computer…i’m a student and i’m poor and I have no idea how the insides of computers work).

Just my feedback, anyway. Probably worthless, but i’ve felt really disheartened about the game today.

Wanze: Here are my numbers for salvaging 1.860 rares since April 1st with MSK:
1609 ectos salvaged 86.5%
1462 upgrades salvaged 78,6%

Zaxares: Had a really good streak over the weekend. Salvaged something like 14 or 15 Rares, got 29 Ectos in total. I think it’s safe to say that the salvage rates have not been touched.

Buttercup: (snip) you know that you can have 15 streaks of nothing and then 15 × 2 or 3 ectos in a row, right?

dAclaW: I salvaged 2 rares and got 6 ectos, the drop rate has actually increased by like a bazillion percent!

In other words, no. No one has noticed a difference since the patch. You were unlucky and RNG is RNG.

OK. Just thought most of these posts were made before the patch so I thought i’d ask. Good to know.

Hi, i’m ninetales and i’m a world boss addict. Each day I log on and do every single WB and temple I can get my hands on.

Here is my feedback for today.

The fact that only 1 boss is spawning at a time makes it very hard for my computer because of the sheer number of people there. I’ve never had a problem with rendering or loading times but today was awful.
It was nice when people could do the pre-events or choose which world boss to go to if multiple spawn at the same time. I didn’t like having to twiddle my thumbs between each one. Also, some days I have limited time so I always found myself using guesting to jump around between three servers to get as many WBs as I could, the megaserver obviously now makes this impossible to do, and the schedule is very, very restrictive. Keeping to a schedule in a game isn’t really my cup of tea anyway.

Behe seems bugged, can’t get that to work at all. Maw is strange, Brogun starts singing the trololol song when the totem gets smooshed. I didn’t know much about that until I actually read the patch notes, and to me it is rather pointless for the pre-event to maw to keep starting over and over every ten minutes.

I guess all the trackers are going to be updated some time soon (I hope) but what is happening with Temples and Gates of Arah? Grenth didn’t even have the protect Jonez event for me today (and yes, we killed the priest without fail). Does anyone at anet understand that if I can’t farm loot bags I can’t sleep at night? DO YOU? shakes

I’m sure things will work out and people will get used to the new timers, but if I could have one wish granted by anet in regards to this patch it would be that there is more than one boss spawning at a time again, and I wish we could go back to have countdown windows (for behe, maw etc) and pre-events again. It spreads the population out a bit and my computer will go on to live another day.

Would also like to add a vote for an in-game schedule because i’m confused and my head hurts.

So after the 18th we won’t get a chance to barter these, meaning that the 500 heirlooms I saved up I will end up destroying. No way i’m going to pay 20g for this. If any dev has any plan to change these, could you say so before I, and probably people like me, lose the chance to buy these for good?

Ok I completely agree with the OP of how inspirational this character is to those with disabilities. My question is why after this post was made, in the latest update does Taimi sound like a sadistic disturbed child when you speak to her about your victory over Scarlett in Gendarran? She asks if there was lots of blood and did you see her guts… then goes on to ask if anyone on the team lost body parts… to me it’s a rather disturbing twist to what in my mind was a truly inspirational character… I wish the writing had not gone that direction.

Well, maybe anet is going somewhere with that, but I just took it as a child-like morbid interest/fascination. I often remember asking my parents gory details about deaths, and I turned out fine. eye twitch

No one asked for skimpy or revealing armor for asura. In fact, I think most of us would have rolled a human/norn if skimpy was what we wanted.

I’d like to see more feminine outfits that are along the same style as the Twilight Arbor light armor. Even the store armors lack creativity, phoenix armor is a joke :/ What, we can’t have feathers? WHY CAN’T WE HAVE FEATHERS. :p

Yep, I probably won’t get to play today but its no big deal. I’d rather play tomorrow when its ready than be fed a patch that was buggy and incomplete. I played lotro for years…compared to the kitten that Turbine used to pull this is nothing. I’m battle hardened with late patches and unforseen game implosions.

Yeah, we’re customers of Anet and deserve to be treated equally blah blah, I get it, I really do. But I also accept that anet is an american company and their working hours are not the same as mine.
