Might just be your build, I had no problem with this fight at all (although I pretty much couldnt look at the statue the whole time since the game makes it basically impossible to look in any direction but straight down)
ive tried to test different settings in different places, and it’s definitely not just the difference between low and ultra both being very close, theres actually just nothing happening when a change is made.
between this and the crappy fov/camera height, the game is suffering pretty heavily right now visually
LOD is permanently set on low, changing the settings/restarting the game has no effect.
It’s been almost a year now and the camera in this game is still horribly designed. Is there any plan whatsoever to fix either the extremely low height or the narrow fov?
I used to be centered around my guy’s head (already wayyyy too low) but now it seems to be centered around his neck.
Is this just me?

Whenever I get something called acolyte though, it looks exactly like apprentice armor.
This is the one that gives +10 precision per kill and ends on down.
It resets itself when I move between areas. Is this a bug?
I think the problem is most players only ever go into WvW for the jumping puzzle, since thats basically the only way to get badges for a legendary.
Now thats impossible, so for most people theres no reason to ever go back to WvW without switching servers first.
Well i’m more interested in getting the camera to NOT flash constantly.
So since before release I’ve had this problem where if i’m running into some walls or next to some walls, my camera will constantly flash as if its zooming all the way in and zooming all the way out really fast over and over. This happens constantly in every jumping puzzle. Does anyone else get this problem?
So basically, the 10% trait, the 25% trait, and sigil of air are all 100% combat worthless when using the staff because you have haste?
So which is it? Am I bugged or is it capped at 33%?
I’m playing an elementalist and feel like given all the movespeed bonuses I have I should be moving way faster than I am.
I have 10% from the 5 point air trait, another 25% from the 10 point air trait, another 25% from sigil of air, and an additional 33% from haste.
I should be moving 93% to 129% faster depending on if MS bonuses are additive or multiplicative, but it definitely doesn’t feel like I’m moving this fast at all. In fact, every single person I’ve fought in WvW has been able to chase me down when I’m just running in a straight line.
OP is right. Vapor form doesnt heal you, it counts as taking you out of downed state then putting you back into downed state. This is easy to test, just get downed, heal yourself to near full, then vapor form. Do this a couple times, healing yourself to near full before vapor forming and watch what happens.
Ive gotten this bug twice with tequatl, and in the last week about 7-8 times with jormag. Each time it has crashed my game either immediately or within 1 minute
That might be an issue with your mouse. Try using a different one?
Since release, there have been a number of camera problems plaguing players like myself and many others. The most important one of these was the extremely narrow field of view, which as I understand has been fixed somewhat, but still feels extremely narrow to me.
Aside from the narrow field of view, the camera position is still centered way too low towards the ground. This, combined with the narrow field of view, has meant that it is extremely difficult or impossible to look upwards. To this day, I have no idea what the majority of ceilings in the game look like, or even the tops of structures or environments. A more important side effect of this has been my completely inability to see flying enemies unless I am extremely far away. If I’m in combat with something flying, I have to rely exclusively on tab targetting unless I am using the most extreme camera angles and standing right beneath the enemy.
The last problem which may be a bug, is the camera rapidly zooming in and out when environmental objects get close to the screen. This happens particularly often if I’m running into a wall (as in every jumping puzzle), and the camera often flashes in and out.
Is there any plan by arenanet to fix any of these camera problems in the near future?
I take it the lack of reply means this isn’t gonna get changed anytime soon if ever…
So does anyone know if there are any plans to fix the fov yet?
The FOV needs to be increased to at least 75 degrees horizontal.
