To maximize your odds of running into other RP players more often, you’ll want to make sure you’re on the same world (generally TC and Piken are viewed as the RP worlds), and in guilds with other RP members also on that same world. For example, everyone from TC currently will be set to high priority to sort together, same thing goes with people who are all a part of the same guild (so guild up RP folks!)
We’ll continue to monitor, adapt and update the system as we go forward as well, for now I’d suggest seeing how it works once we enable the mega server system across all maps and then giving comments and feedback when you see it in action!
(edited to add Piken!)
I don’t RP as regularly as other people do on Piken, but I think that most of the time native Piken Square people are finding their way to the same megaserver as other Piken Square roleplayers personally, although I can’t really say for the majority and most of the RP I’m involved with is Guild RP, but the megaservers have not been an issue with us.
My advice other than guild up, is to friend up as well, with as many people as you can from either Tarnished Coast or Piken Square (depending which one you’re from) that you know RP.
I have over 200 people on my friends list and find no problem being with Piken Square people
That’s wonderful and all, until you try to get two parties into one location to role play together. People end up on different shards. The start of any larger rp event requires about 10-15 minutes prep time where we’re trying to get people in the same shard.
When that’s done, the rp begins. But some events require changing maps. Like say a march going from Queensdale to Gendarren. Again, people get stuck in different shards so you take another 5 minutes to get them all together again.
Now add in any time you disconnect for whatever reason. And trolls.
It’s still frustrating. And I don’t want a friend’s list with 200+ people just to fix this sort of a problem.
It’s been a good, what is it, two months now? All the other feedback threads got some sort of comment, but that one.
……. You mean you’re happy with “We’re busy.” and “We have a team working on it.” just not happy that it wasn’t in the RP thread? * grimace *
Personally both “comments” the other threads received just scream INDIFFERENCE. But maybe that’s just me.
Hm, I guess you’re right. Sigh. I’m just so frustrated that nothing has been done still. I miss the old servers where I knew everyone and I didn’t have to hide in an instance.
Since megaservers, I’ve been cussed out because I was rping, trolled in other ways as well – like all the other rpers. Of course the whole being cussed at and insulted just because I’m an rper was really disheartening. Even if you report something like this, just the fact that it happened in the first place sucks.
I kind of miss the whole idea of server pride too. People cheering about being the first server to beat tequatl or doing such and such, or having some crazy dance event thing. I miss that.
Please devs, can you seriously just comment on that thread already? Comment about what you’re even thinking about doing about the megaserver mess and how it’s affecting rpers?
There’s 22 pages now of people asking you to fix stuff. At the very least please comment there. They suggested rp tags, and manual switching between instances (like the sort in guild wars 1, Anet). Even if you dislike those ideas. Say /something/ at least.
It’s been a good, what is it, two months now? All the other feedback threads got some sort of comment, but that one.
I think part of the reason that gave us a small map is because they probably plan to make a lot more use for the aspects as the story goes on. With a small map, people will have more time to better learn the aspects continuously, and when the other portions are revealed, we’d be better equipped in a sense to be able to go through them.
While I understand why the megaserver system would be nice, I still wish we went back to the old system. Not that I expect this to happen even with the amount of feedback against the megaserver system.
I’m just a silly role player, online to write some stories. Kind of hard to do that though when there’s more and more trolls and griefers. Not kidding either, I feel like all our events or rp sessions get interrupted with trolls.
Not to mention, the population really raises chances of crashing and overall lag. My game has gotten frozen for many minutes at a time whenever there’s a lag spike which I experience more and more now.
Did gw1 have major issues with their instance system? I know it was a similar sort of huge server system there…
As far as those saying that they’re leaving because of this update, seriously, just leave without complaining. There’s no need to say such things for all to hear. Leave quietly. (Neither is it ever effective in trying to persuade anyone to do anything).
I don’t know if this was covered anywhere.
I sent in a support ticket to get a refund, but now I’m not sure if I should have.
I have bought some gem store skins with money, and then there’s some gem store outfits/town clothes that I bought via the ingame exchange ( basically, I exchanged gold for gems to get them). For the whole exchange thing, it’s not possible to get a refund of gems, right?
I don’t really remember which I bought with real money and which I bought with the gem exchange.
Because if not, I think I ought to pull my ticket out so that you have one less refund request to deal with.
It’s still not appearing and I hit 500 now….
I don’t know why, but I can’t see the option to craft this in my leatherworking.
I’m at 468/500, I figure, I’d at least be able to see it? I could be wrong?
And it’s not under bags either.
I know I learned the recipe though…
Not sure if anyone suggested this yet…
When I complete a living story meta, I get a reward. More often than not, it is a one-time use skin. And it gets stored in my bank because I’m using some other skin. And it bothers me that this skin takes up slots in my bank.
What I propose is that like the zenith weaponry and the radiant/hellfire armor pieces, where you can get the skin as many times as you like, that these living story rewards work the same way.
I want to be able to use the holiday backpack several times and not freak out if I accidentally delete it.
I want to be able to delete the item that I’m currently not using, instead of having it take a slot of my bank which I could use for something else.
I want several of my characters to be able to use the same back piece (i.e. four characters using storm wizard back piece or one pve and two pvp characters using the molten gauntlets.
Again, not sure this was suggested.
I’m honestly surprised that Anet hasn’t already done this. The living stories get somewhat tiring, and usually I’m doing them because I either want the achievement points or the reward for completing it. And at first, I was fine with the one piece reward thing, now, it’s getting tiring to keep up with the living story knowing that this reward is just going to be able to be used once…
Well, given how much other things they have to fix or implement, I would expect appearance to not be so high on the list?
Oh for the love of…. Absolutely NOT. There’s too many commanders as is. We don’t need this pin on lvl 2 characters created. There’s a bad need to limit commanders. We don’t need this.
Well I think you’re generalizing it a little bit. In Pakistan for example, during Christmas, I hear, the folks wear their best traditional clothing (perhaps they’re influenced by the majority of Muslims that live there who do that for their own holidays).
I think even the tackiness (those ugly clothes you’re talking about) are partly tradition, you know?
My point is tradition. I bet that each race has certain traditions it has created for the holidays – and this can apply to clothing as well.
With all the craziness about the Flamekissed armor, I was wondering if you think Anet has things planned in advance about those ‘just in case’ situations?
Like would you think that there were three or four ideas for the Flamekissed and with one fully completed, the other three were on the shelves in case things didn’t work out?
Or I wonder if the armor is like how the living story is planned out – decided upon four months beforehand? That might be interesting.
Just curious…
I meant pants for light armor (for females). Skirts for medium (male). Shirtless for medium (male).
I mean I want pants for females across the three armor classes. And I want shirtless for males across the classes.
Yeah, I have a similar concern as Ohoni. I have a lack of interest in WvW or PvP. But, honestly, if with the rotation it helps Anet produce better content – with hopefully less bugs on release & less recycling & better satisfaction rate for area concerned, then I don’t see it as too much of a problem.
I was going to ask though: Could it be possible that you post the summaries of these CDIs on the Original post instead? It’d be nice to see everything summarized right as you enter the thread.
You know I actually liked the living story thing in the beginning too. It was wonderful!
But like you said, I’m tired of it. I didn’t finish the Nightmare Madness meta or that Nightmare Within (eh…can’t even get the names right).
I really don’t care about the fractal meta either, but will only do it because I kind of like fractals.
It’s just too boring… Plus…Scarlet….She just needs to be destroyed. She needs to become the great collapse.
I honestly would pay money for the expansions. 40-60$ is fine by me. [I think I bought gw2 at 60$]
I’m only on for role playing mostly now. I’m tired of this content, and I revered guild wars 1, which was why I bought the game.
As far as the armor is concerned – if they wanted to use old ideas, bring back gw1 armor! That armor was INCREDIBLY beautiful. I would love to see the tattoo armors (folks who love revealing things) and I would love to see the full armors they had. Those were beautiful.
That would be nice. I like seeing the dev replies more so than all the arguments that take place.
I don’t terribly mind this. Like Seras said, it could just be that they could be releasing cultural armor for all races. Which isn’t terrible to be honest. Better versions of existing cultural armor won’t be bad at all.
I just hope that this reskinning thing doesn’t become a hard habit. I really would rather them give us new armor entire than reskins.
I’m not quite sure how it works with Christmas, since I’m Muslim, but see, when Eid (holiday) comes around, each person dresses in their best clothing that they have. We put on henna. We get ready. When Eid day arrives, in the morning, you see Muslims of various cultures sporting beautiful traditional cultural clothes.
The suggestion I wanted to make was having each race have a cultural version of clothing they would wear on Wintersday. Their best clothes. Looking nice on such a wonderful occasion.
Maybe the sylvari have grown poinsettia leaves or white leaves with light golden glow on them?
Blue and robes for Asura. Maybe a floating hologram snowflake on their hats. Glowing lights?
Elegant robes of similar colors for humans. Soft fluff on the ends. Maybe a white rose in the woman’s hair, and a similar white rose on the front pocket for the men. A golden cane?
Frosty dragon helm for the charr? Armor etched with frosty designs. A crystal snowflake to decorate their tails with?
White reindeer fur cloaks for the Norn? Another frosty dragon helm or reindeer horns.
I don’t know. It’d be nice to see though.

I honestly do dislike the amount of revealing skin on both genders. And I hate how they seem to define the clothes to be so gender specific. Why aren’t there pants for the women? Or shirtless male (mm <3) armors? Yeah, I hope they try to consider the gender equality thing a bit more.
This is going to sound odd. I hope not, but here it goes.
I’d love to see some pants in gw2. Pant armor. And shirt.
I guess this is mostly directed towards the female armor. I like that there are dresses, and they are beautifully made, but I wish my female could wear some pants. Or shorts. Not super flowy. Not poofy.
Tattoo armor like in gw1 was beautiful. I would shell out cash for that. And I know you can do it too because of that ever tantalizing masquerade set that’s in pvp. You know the one with tribal tattoos (again…has the flap…but it’s still nice).
Meanwhile for medium armor, I hope that you give a set that doesn’t include a dress or trenchcoat, so that I can show off ALL of the wonderful pants you’ve made in the medium sets. For the love of everything, just ditch the trenchcoats (and that doesn’t mean head to making dresses, like you did in the viper set). Please just let the butt show. No flaps. No more flaps.
If you’re thinking about ‘practical’ armor, let me say that mobility goes a long way. I don’t see how efficient long leather armor would be in any setting. I can totally picture a ranger getting stuck in a tree because of this. Or oh god…a thief…
Same with heavy. They’re not so bad, but I really quite love the primval legplates. Would love more of those sorts.
I know that this suggestion has probably been brought up before, but I’m only saying it again since it looks like you’re putting more armor skins in the gemstore. I will instantly buy if I saw something like shirts and pants for my female.
Lots of love to the Anet artists and programmers and others,
paragon
I know that this may have been mentioned already, but I like the finishing off for many reasons.
I like that the computers show intelligence and actually pick up other enemies. It’s not emmersion breaking, it’s quite realistic. Yes, it’s more time spent, but it’s better than hacking the monster til it’s dead. I want to fight a monster that is smarter, otherwise it’s boring.
I like how this makes the fight a kittenallenging. It requires a little thinking as far as builds are concerned. Some people really don’t think builds through, and to truly play the game to its fullest, you need to be pushed into a situation where it requires thinking instead of pressing 1 constantly. I personally hate that people can just use 1, and finish something off while another is actually using other skills. This finisher thing actually forces people to wake up and actually help.
Also I find the finishers nice for folks that are pve only. It’s nice to use. Spiking your enemy with a giant cow or something. pvpers and wvwers get to use them, I want to use them without being in wvw/pvp. I like the aesthetics of it. Yes, it’s profit for Anet, but I don’t mind paying cash or in-game gold (gem transfer) for it. [Plus, you still get default finisher anyway, so it’s not like you’re forced to buy]
And I know this was mentioned as well: GW2 needs to grow as well. It’s far too easy for all of us to reach endgame, and endgame being easy? That’s boring. It makes us less inclined to keep playing. This finisher stuff might be just what we need to slow down. It might also give us better reasons to need ascended stuff. [for example, I’d love to see agony condition OUTSIDE of fractals so that the game is harder]
GW1 required not only an individual build, but team builds. It required build changing as the situation changed. We need to see this more often instead of only running zerkers for high damage. (Shoot…I will love Anet for bringing back that fight we had to do with our doppleganger). Honestly, the amount of intelligence that gw1 monsters had, if applied to the monster in gw2, it would make this game incredibly fun. The issue with gw1 was its linear nature, but that’s not a problem in this game. Just think of that monster rushing after you until they’re downed, and still able to hit you! Just think of dungeons that you can’t speed run like crazy (boring…as kittens you know.)
Change your title to search by armor class type so that it’s easier to notice.
Anyway, I completely agree with this. It’s kind of annoying to see the items you don’t want always there. I’m pretty sure they’ll fix this though.
While we’re on the topic, I’m hoping they’ll add ‘back items’ as a search option as well under armors.
My lovely Norn warrior~
Still trying to get the t3 cultural leggings. You know the ones
Gotta show off the tattoos even more.
I honestly really want the bag of money. A thief can look like a thief with it. Course…They don’t use foci I think. But it’s still cool to carry one around.
I just had to draw them after I drew armor suggestions here.
Yeah so I want more of the silly foci. I liked the bottle ones so lets add to that, shall we?
My smallish gallery of focus suggestions here.
Excellent for role playing. Excellent for looking awesometastic~
It’s not just bringing good suggestions to the top, it’s also something else.
If you have subforums, the developers could look through which suggestions are easiest/quickest to implement into the game.
So adding certain weapon skins into the game would obviously be easier than redoing the WvW system.
You put the weapon skin suggestion into an ‘item suggestion subforum’ and WvW revamp into ‘WvW suggestions subforum’ and it’s easy to sift through. The different types of topics can, in that sense, also show the developers what they could realistically tackle.
I’d like to try the role play servers. But maybe allow for a transfer cap so that more than say 20 people can’t transfer per week or something to control flow.
Whole bunch of ideas this time. Again, these would be cultural exotics, not ascended. Tier 4.
Asura Armor Ideas 1-4
Asura Armor Ideas 5-8
Asura Glowing Armor Idea - It might be interesting to see glow armor. Kind of like how there was glowing gloves in GW1.

Tell me what you think~
I agree with this post. The whole world including ore could be darker.
*nights are way to bright
*Little lore or story to set the mood for why DE’s occurring.
*No blood or gore
*need more depressing and agree dialogue from NPC’s
*No crime element with in towns and cities
*lack of mature content
I think I disagree with you, and here’s why.
Make the night any darker, and it’s a little difficult to see, honestly.
If they make this game more bloody/gory, they have to change the rating from teen to mature. (And I can see they probably don’t want to do that with this game).
There are crime elements actually. Spies and sabotage. The human story line also has gangs in it.
…And the bit about mature content. Again, the game’s rating is Teen.
Yes, you’re right, the skill of your English is not important, so let’s keep that out from this topic. I’d like to add that people ought to just be respectful of someone’s suggestion and not diss them straight up.
Anyways.
Honestly depends on how you play your preferred class.
The whole idea behind the mesmer is that this is an illusion based class. Yes, you can have trouble with the clones being there, but that is the point. I’m pretty sure that the devs are looking at the classes often. If they feel that mesmers are op then they will nerf them.
But of course, my original point was that they will not, and should not take this unique class out of the game. But by all means, giving them some weakness would be a good idea. Perhaps the clones should just be weaker than they currently are. Or while the clone can give damage, maybe a one-hit could kill a clone.
Personally, I haven’t had too many problems with the mesmers. Each class requires a bit of skill to play so I think you might have just gotten unlucky and played against some really skilled mesmers.
ugh. 1:22 am and dead tired. I think that all sounded better in my head than it does here.
Don’t change the EB jump puzzle. It’s fine as is. I agree with Xavori.
And if you’re being ganked so much, just organize a group to go inside that jump puzzle. Seriously, it’s placed in a pvp area, it should be difficult to get. There’s some sort of difficulty with all the puzzles, and in EB, the unique difficulty is dealing with enemy players. It’s a different challenge than in the other puzzles.
Leave EB JP alone.
The mesmer is a class that has been used in gw1, and it worked beautifully. Yes there were problems here and there, but it was a good class, and still is. There’s no need for deletion. The mesmers aren’t so terribly OP that you can’t kill them.
I highly doubt this class will be deleted on anyone’s suggestion. There’s hiccups, but the class is nice regardless.
I like the armor skins but the female norn doesn’t really fit the ‘heavy’ concept in your picture? Nevertheless nice work and you got my approval
Yeah… I’m going to be scrapping a lot of these. I realized that when more than one person pointed that out about the Norn armor.
I don’t know why each tier needs it’s own NPC. One NPC for all tier is all they need.
Lol I don’t know either. Maybe they wanted to populate the town?
YES!
ugh. Especially when you’re wondering about the skins of a particular item. I’d rather not have to go out of the game and look through the net.
We don’t need a new tier! Tiers are for the look for the armor. I costs less to use fine transmutation.
This idea puts great armor skins out of reach from most players.
Well, the reason I said a new tier was because I wanted more cultural armor. And since there’s already three tiers, I figure it wouldn’t be too difficult to add a fourth tier.
Yes, normal (all race) armor needs work as well, but this thread is more specific to individual races.
Oh, don’t worry, I’ll do something for all of them. I just really need to do some research to do good designs and not kitten ones.
I found doing the human ones to be easiest. But I really want to give good ones to Charr and others too, y’know? Not leave anyone lacking.
Plus, I want to keep to the themes.
Sylvari – I want to do more floral designs. Flora isn’t just leaves, there’s flowers as well, and colors. Thorns and vines. So much for it!
Charr – definite steampunk. Gears and iron. Grunge textures/patterns.
Norn – A bit difficult, but mostly fauna. Scandinavian styles. I’ll be researching Northern European countries for the inspiration for their armor.
Asura – More like cyberpunk. This one’s slightly difficult, but I’ll have to experiment.
Humans – I kind of want to do other cultures, but I’m afraid of crossing into Elona/Cantha styles because then the designs might just be shut down. But I honestly envision the humans to be as diverse as in reality… [lol really wanted to do an Arabic inspired design for them]
What can I say? I’m a chick into aesthetics, the stats could just be bleh, but so long as it looks nice, I’m happy! xDDDDDD
Well, I realize that the ascended idea is a bit far off. So maybe I should change the title. Maybe this tier could just be exotic. I think tier 3 is rare, right? So tier 4 could be exotic.
As far as the designs are concerned, I’m still working on them. Instead of doing individual parts, I’ve started doing male and female full armor. I’ll probably put this topic up with editting again later once I’ve finished with all of the drawings for all the armor suggestions.
Ascended, I agree should maybe come down the line. When I made the topic, I didn’t realize that there were already no exotic. So I’d say tier 4 would be exotic. Tier 4 might probably be worth x amount of gold.
If ascended comes into play, I’d say the same. It can’t be bought with gold, but with something else maybe.
I’ll pitch an ascended idea later though, but that would require research because I want that particular tier armor to look ‘transcendent’.
Oh, yes! This suggestion!
There definitely should be a feature where you can put your pet away. And yes, I know there’s like this eject button, but it’s very crappy. The pet always comes out the minute you’re attacked. Or you fall. Really any damage might just make the pet come out.
I love having a pet, but I hate how I have to depend on the pet.
And kitten why does a defeated pet when limping back to the player, make aggro follow it? It’s dead for crying out loud.
People play with touchpad? That sounds like the most torturous experience imaginable. Please do yourself a favor and buy a $10 usb mouse. I honestly can’t even fathom how it is possible to play with touchpad…
Lol I don’t want to~
I like the idea of not having to carry so many accessories with a laptop.
But don’t worry, so many people have lectured me about using a mouse.
Why not just use basic and fine transmutation stones?
Definitely would help people that play without a mouse, using touchpad.
Ugh try being a trapper ranger with that lol. It’s hard.
I’d like to see more cultural town clothing and cultural armor options, preferably ones that don’t cost gems, and can be bought with gold or karma.
I know right?
I’m actually drawing a whole bunch of concepts to share later when I’m done with a lot of them. Cultural armor needs work.
Having said that, Town Clothes seriously need an Options feature to toggle auto-swapping Armor and Clothing when entering and leaving cities and other non-combat zones. Some have argued implementing complete a wardrobe feature to manage multiple outfits but that may be asking too much.
Uh…I think there is a toggle feature already. Check in the options (F11) and look though the list that holds the keys for movements/ interface in the game (you know, where you assign a key to dodge for example). The town clothes swap option is there, you can assign a key to it. I’ve assigned the ‘C’ key to mine
Yes! I want this armor back! I don’t like that this is PvP only. It’s one of the more unique armors.
I even made an ele so that I could have access to it, only to find out that it was only PvP. What’s worse is that it’s already difficult to get in PvP, but that outside the Mist area, you can’t even use it. Please bring it back.
It was there during beta, why not now?
Maybe ascended cultural should be tier 5 and tier 4 be reserved for an Exotic cultural?
If the rare one costs 119g I wonder how much would the ascended cost, darn I don’t think I can count that high!
Before adding new armor, wouldn’t you agree we should first decide “how” to get it? Obviously not with gold like the rest of the cultural, we can already buy our Legendary, now buying our Ascended armor would make things even worse!
Well I guess that works. Exotic tier4.
For Ascended, I think maybe some of the same crazy kitten you need to infuse those accessories? Fractal things and all that. Like the relics and coagulated and globs and all that? But I agree, the ascended shouldn’t be obtained with just gold.
Honestly, I kind of just want them to have another chance to get cultural armors right.
So how about a tier 4 to cultural armors? Armor that has been infused to make it fractal agony strong. I’m sure there’s already armor being infused and all. But how about culture specific armor?
Maybe with suggestions from the players this time about what they expect in cultural armor. To be honest, the sylvari cultural armor especially was a disappointment since you could do sooo much with plants and leaves. So I figure this could be an excuse to put in new cultural armor.
I call it Tier 4 armor. Ascended Armor.
And yes, I do have picture suggestions about what this armor could look like. And I will be adding more pictures as I come up with more ideas.
Each link will show you a picture suggestion. <3

Do comment please! On the pictures and the idea as a whole~
I would make changes if anyone suggested something specific.
