The rage over a number.
All of you have lost your kitten minds.
The amount of drama this change has caused is just more proof that GW2 is nothing but an AP grind.
I play alone. There’s really no reason to guild or group for anything in this game. It’s all soloable. Besides CoF runs, ofc.
People get on my kitten nerves anyway. :P
Guild Wars in Guild Wars2?
Nah, makes too much sense.
looks like the usual middle finger to pve players to me…..
You realize you’re playing a PvP game?
Opened 2000 dragon coffers, got 1 skin.
This game is amazing but its the RNG that really destroys it for me. I’ll be on to the next game once it’s released.
For once I would love to find a game that I can play for years and enjoy it — like the old games. Played DAoC/Lineage/Lineage2 for several years but here lately in the past… 5 years, I jump from game to game like a kitten frog.
I believe this is going to be the trend for most of the future games as well. Free or buy to play is becoming the norm. And if a game starts up ast pay to play, it does not seem to last very long. Cash shops are a great revenue maker for games because people spend more in the cash shops, than they do for a monthly sub.
Cash shop doesn’t mean RNG. A lot of MMOs just have skins that you can buy directly.
I’m not worried about other MMO’s. I like GW2, I want to play GW2. There’s no denying the RNG in Guild Wars 2 is absurd.

I sadly agree.

What do you guys thinking about mixing Knights and Berserker gear? I’m using all stats trinkets, with berserker daggers. Thinking about going 2 Knights / 4 Berserker, or maybe half n half.
Any thoughts?
Thought this was a troll post at first… but then I realized the OP is serious.
Some people… just crazy.
Just got 2 ecto from a rare.
I’m not sure if most of the legit player base is aware or not but this game is hacked and botted to hell. There are entire community’s out here on the net that are solely dedicated to the creation of hack/bot programs.
I won’t link and sites or name any program names, but they are extremely popular programs.
I’m just curious if Anet is doing anything to disable these programs, or if they are even able to do so.
You won’t see a large expansion from Anet for Guild Wars 2.
Why?
Because they allocate too much of their development towards temporary content.
You must not have played the first Guild Wars.
Which is why I explicitly state in my post, Guild Wars 2.
And quite frankly, I don’t see how anything Guild Wars relates to Guild Wars 2 because they are very different games. I mean really, I honestly would not even call GW2 a sequel to GW, based upon the huge differences in the games. Just because Guild Wars had many expansions does not mean Guild Wars 2 will have many.

Probably not because I’ll be playing The Elder Scrolls Online by the time Anet releases a GW2 expansion.
Are they adding a scavenger hunt?
All this temporary content is really making me dislike GW2 more and more.
And that sucks, because there’s many things about this game that I absolutely love. But the things that I don’t like are very important things to me.
How do you get the tickets now that they removed them from Black Lion chests?
So damage to players is where you want it to be?
What? Do you even play your own game man? This is ludicrous.
Half damage to seige? Ok, so that helps the ram, what about the guy on the ram? He’ll still be melted in seconds.. what.. I just.. what?
God I can’t wait for TESO to come out, or hell, might even go back to RIFT in June once it’s F2P. I love WvW, it reminded me so much of DAoC when GW2 came out, but recent changes have made it absolutely boring. Seige Wars 2 is what it should be called.
It’s crazy because these arrow cart changes promote using hacking programs that allow you to zoom out. ANet wouldn’t realize that though because they don’t have a friggin clue man!
FPS for me has never been issue, did have a few issues with crashing, but I fixed those.
The reason why there aren’t a lot of people the same place in Guild Wars 2, is because you have more then one way to level up. In other MMOs, you have a streamlined story quest, which you need to do to level up. This means that everyone are running the same places. In Guild Wars 2, you can level up from doing events all over the world, you can level up by crafting, you can level up from play WvW, or you can just play sPvP. This means that the player population of Guild Wars 2 is spread all over the place.
It’s not “spread all over the place”. It’s clumped in certain areas. World events bosses for the chests, pent/shelt for farming, starter areas for easier daily completion.
One of the reasons people are turning to different ways to level is simply because they don’t want to go through the world again when they know there aren’t as many people out there in the leveling zones.
Not trying to pick a fight here but this is baseless opinion. Do you have polls stating where players are and why they are there?
People have always leveled through the various means (I think the first 80 did it solely through crafting), so saying they are only turning to it now without stats is baseless speculation. Made even worse by the fact that you attempt to give a reason based on information you can’t possibly know.
He don’t need stats. It’s called common sense.
Makes me sad. Weird running around seeing people pop in and out of view, ruins things for me really.
In before all the people telling you that you just aren’t playing the game right or in the right area to see people because, based off their experiences, people are everywhere and you are wrong.
Ok then, the population has dropped fairly significantly. There’s just no other way to say it or sugar coat it. You can try switching to a higher pop server, i.e. a server in the top 5 for wvw. Personally, I am just killing time until FFXIV is re-released. After that, I’m Outtie 5000 again.
You have zero evidence of this. It’s literally unprovable. And there are always trolls on forums (not suggesting that you are one of them), that love to come in and say how bad any game is doing.
But it doesn’t make it true.
Just because you say the game has not lost population, does not make it true.
2 way street.
This is the 2nd time in a row that I did not receive capture credit for Stonemist. Clearly a bug, I smashed doors, oil, killed people, killed guards, killed lord, stood in circle until timer was up, and nothing. Absolutely nothing was giving to me as a reward – 2 times in a row.
Sucks when you’re loaded to the gills with boosters on and you miss something like SM keep credit.
None, yes really none are legendary…
Here is what i would call legendary

No one likes Incinerators
Having this problem too… Real blower.
The PvE in GW2 is very shallow and very easy. I can spam 1 while watching TV, not even looking at my screen and not die.
Almost nine months in and I’m still getting kicked to overflow. I don’t think the game has any problems with longevity.
Longevity has nothing to do with being kicked to overflow.
at this point i wouldnt listen to his arguments anymore, you cant make money by doing nothing, and “playing the game” is an awful way to get you anywhere in terms of a legendary.
and if some people want legendary weapons?
I just really don’t understand Anet’s mentality
I got 100% map completion I’ve seen all the world has to offer
now what?
other than a legendary what else is their to do?you’re both essentially crying “I want my legendary now”. A legendary was designed to take years to get, hence legendary.
You obviously didn’t get the point that MANY people farm for a legendary. Also you don’t know why DR is in place only an Anet employee knows how it works and why they really use it.
People play mmos in different ways and some players actually enjoy farming.
those people then should probably find an MMO that allows it. Besides while Guild Wars 2 community is crying, Tera has a far harsher DR and people seem to be okay with it.
Legendarys take years to get? Why do I see everyone running around with legendarys then? And people with multiple legendarys.
What is DR? Sorry, I’m sorta new to GW2 and all I do is WvW – but I’ve been thinking about doing some PvE to farm some gold to get a legendary.
Is there a cap on farming or something? I play quite a bit, 15-18 hours a day and I was going to go balls to the wall farming to get this legendary as quick as I can, so i can get back out into WvW.
DR = Diminishing Returns. If you kill the same creature in the same area over and over again, your loot will eventually diminish. For regular play, you should never notice it (I don’t), but if you farm somewhere you’ll notice it.
DR also affects dungeons, if you run the same dungeon path over and over again, the end reward will diminish. First run = 60 tokens, then 30 then 20 (i think? I always hit accept without looking at the numbers). The silver reward also reduces.
Hmm, so why do I always see people farming CoF P1 for gold if there’s DR? And thank you for answering my question.
After 3 runs the return is the same, and is still decent (just not as good as the first run). This resets after a day. The path if speedrun will take ~5-6 minutes, and if run in a decent non speedrun group will take ~10 minutes. The run is really fast, so even the diminished returns after the 3rd run produce decent gold. Also, you can log on a different character and get full benefit. It is common practice in my guild for 5 of us to run it and swap characters each run.
Thank you very much.

I’ve never spent a dime of real life cash on this game and I don’t plan to either.
Nothing in the gem shop is an absolute must have, you can’t buy power here – it’s all luxury/vanity kitten.
Ah, yes! More of the ‘if it’s fun or beneficial to the player, lets nerf it’ mindset.
Way to go Anet. Following in the footsteps of every other game development studio out there. Absolutely ground breaking game you have here.
I’m back after leaving shortly after release. I have a level 17 toon and have been bouncing around to the different starting areas and they are all ghost towns. Is everyone just much higher level now or is Neverwinter a distraction from GW2 right now?
Takes like a day or 2 to get max level in GW2, so I guess the answer is — yes.
I just really would love to know who exactly at Anet thought this change was a good idea.
To that person I would say very mean things about his or her intelligence.
It’s changes like this, that really really make you wonder if Anet even plays their own game. I mean clearly, they do not! This change is ridiculous, it has changed WvW immensely.
I can’t believe they have done this. AC were very strong before the patch and now they are absolutely over the top ridiculous.
This change should have been for spvp only and left pve and wvw alone.
Makes you wonder if the guys at Anet even play their own game.
Reduced the range to 1200 from the previous (hidden) 1550.
GG RTL.
Apparently, someone did not like my post. So I’ll repost it.
All you people defending this game need to open your eyes. The OP is 100% correct in every point he makes is a valid one.
And if any of you want to come back at me with some overly-used internet meme’s — don’t waste your time. Instead, provide some intelligent reasons why the OP is wrong.
They won’t post updated data like this.
It’ll show how much population they’ve lost since Sept.
You mean because people transferred off of your server?
No.
OP is 100% on point here.
Game developers solution for anything they deem a problem is nerf it into oblivion. This is not just limited to ArenaNet, it’s a prevalent practice in the whole gaming industry and I’m quite disappointed to see ArenaNet follow suit, considering GW2 is supposed to be about breaking the traditional MMO mold.

Amazing.
This is the most casual game out on the market and people still complain.
Just absolutely amazing.
Really people?
Put your big boy pants on, this is ridiculous. Letting 1 person ruin the game sounds like a personal problem. You’re letting him do it to you.
You guys are complaining about nerfs when they are buffing stuff as well. .
the main problem is that they are buffing what’s already facerolling (heavy and medium armor classes), and nerfing what is in dire need of a massive boost (light armor classes).
Of course I am talking about world pvp, pve is so easy any class can be successful: I can foresee armies of thieves and warriors in WvWvW collecting free badges from other classes….
Shelving my Ele and rolling a Warrior as we speak (type? xD).
