I’m also having this problem. Mistward Warboots were unlocked on my ele prior to the fix and they’re currently sitting in my bank still soulbound to her (stats not selected).
I am a sad panda and so is my poor, naked Revenant.
Please, won’t somebody think of the naked Revenants?
I am sad that my pretty shiny wolfhorn doesn’t make wolf noises that you can actually hear or have moon sparklies :< But considering the sfx of -some- weapons in the game (I’m lookin’ at you Dreamer, Pop-gun, SAB skins…) it’d be fantastic if, at the very least, you could actually hear Howler, y’know… Howl.
Especially when half the ele warhorn skills sound like someone ripping a fart down a microphone.
So I’m not sure what’s going on here, but I’m experiencing a pretty gross issue with my glider (and to a smaller extent bounce shrooms). No matter how I attempt to open the glider (holding space or tapping space), I ’m experiencing at least 3 seconds of freefall before the glider opens, sometimes up to 5. This happens across all applicable maps and at varying times of the day. When the fall time is shorter than the delay on the glider, it ends up deploying after landing, again, 3-5 seconds after having input the command. So the delay is more or less constant.
Framerate and ping don’t seem to be the issue here; my average framerate is around 44 and I’m getting the exact same delay between input and execution at 230 ping (my usual), 550 ping, and 1300 ping. GPU is a GTX960.
I have also attempted:
- Restarting
- Lowering my settings to lowest possible
- Alts
- Mashing space
- Holding space
- Sobbing in a corner
- Ritual sacrifice (…okay not really)
For general exploration it’s not too much of a hassle but it’s made doing Octovine East a waste of time, and the the Jawatl Grounds Predator’s Path story step is completely impossible since the glider won’t deploy until just above the ground.
Regarding the mushrooms, I’m not sure if other people are having the same issue but they are only working for me sometimes. The times when they don’t work either the jump won’t happen at all or it cancels halfway through. Basically it’s acting like it works when it ‘feels like it’.
Just to reiterate, even holding space which is supposed to open the glider at the top of your jump, it’s not deploying until almost hitting the ground. So this really does not feel like a ‘practice makes perfect’ kind of situation. It’s just straight-up taking its sweet time opening. I’m sitting here watching other people doing it the exact same way I am and their gliders are opening straight away. The only time the glider is opening (most of the time) as soon as I input the command is during a long freefall.
Sometimes.
8. I was fighting Tequatl and doing damage (I saw the damage numbers), when everything around me except my partymembers, Tequatl and the environment (ground/hills etc.) seemed to disappear. I could no longer see or use my skills (they were all just grey squares, like when you are swimming on the water, but without the animations that come with moving into the water) or do damage.
Did you try wping? This exact thing happened to me, also a couple of days ago. I was able to fix it by waypointing to Broloonoo.
1. 30/6/15, approx 8:30pm AEST, GMT+10
2. Gizola.3914 (this happened to my brother; I was hovering over his shoulder at the time giving him directions)
3. Plains of Ashford
4. The ruins of Duke Barradin’s estate, above ground.
5. Roaming/gathering. At the exact moment of death, the character was attempting jump up an embankment and keeled over instantly on touchdown.
7. Combat-death style animation, no downstate, just straight up dead as though from a fall but no fall death animation.
8. Almost immediately after death, my bro was automatically ‘relocated’ to an area just a pinch north of the Langmar Estate waypoint; the one that is always contested unless the Guild Puzzle is active. A matter of seconds after he appeared there another player’s character appeared, dead, at the same location, so it seems like it happened to both that player and my brother at approximately the same time, and pinged them to the same location.
Both avatars where completely difference races, genders and classes; the only similarity between the two is they both had gemstore wardrobe items: my bro had the Balth armour and the other player had the white wings. I dunno, I doubt that has any bearing whatsoever, but I thought I’d mention it since, well, it was an observation, haha
Programming is crazy weird sometimes so you just never know!
The problem with this perspective is that it operates on the conceit that ‘I deserve a medal’ instead of ‘I can try to earn a medal’. As an artist it’s something I see in art contests all the time. People who can’t draw or paint complaining that an art contest rewards good art and expecting to be catered to. Nobody is entitled to have every achievement. But everyone is entitled to earn every achievement. That’s why they’re achievements. They’re not attendance prizes, they’re supposed to reward an expression of dedication, effort, or skill. And, unfortunately for some, the things we want to earn are sometimes out of our reach at first and need to be worked towards.
You said yourself you have zero interest in becoming a better player, but you’re also upset at the possibility that LS2 is going to contain challenging achievements that might be outside of your skill level. That’s… kinda selfish. And it punishes players who are at a higher skill level by making their skills pointless just so that you don’t have to improve on yours.
There will undoubtedly be achievements aimed at every skill level, just as there already are. There will be achievements you will get, and some you won’t. And that’s okay. There will be some that other people won’t get, and you will. And that’s okay. There will be some that only a few people will get, and some that everyone will get. And that’s okay too.
Besides. There is a fundamental difference between LS1 and LS2 that can explain the difference in the expectations and difficulty of the achievements.
LS1 was temporary, bi-weekly content. LS2 is permanent forever content.
The achievements for LS1 were mostly easy because players had to complete them within the two weeks that the content was live. They were never intended to define the skill expectation of the game in general. LS2 is perma-content with no time limitation on its achievements, so players have an indefinite amount of time to work towards them.
Nothing new here. In fact, it’s actually a little inaccurate, as IIRC Laranthir didn’t petition Trahearne for an airship, he came with one.
snip
When you spoke to Laranthir in the epilogue, that he petitioned Trahearne to spare him an airship was actually part of his dialogue. So that’s where that comes from. He tells the player that he had to convince Trahearne to spare the ship by arguing the connection between Scarlet and an Elder Dragon.
As far as the seemingly-mundane black market traders in Brisban, I think we’ll find that’s more of a means to an end — by having Belinda being part of the mission to go get them it gives us a line into whatever’s going to happen out there, which will likely segue into a discovery or having the player and co be present during some kind of event that will lead us further along the path towards Mordremoth.
I believe I can confirm which crystal in particular is the one responsible.
http://dulfy.net/2014/05/21/gw2-sky-crystal-master-achievement-guide/
It’s crystal #5 in Dulfy’s guide.
I’ve been doing the crystals in order according to her guide and I can confirm that this was the crystal that didn’t progress my MSC achievement bar. The next crystal, #6, gave me the ‘5 Master Sky Crystals’ tier achievement splash. I double-checked, and I have indeed interacted with the other four crystals preceding #5 in Dulfy’s guide. #5 is the only one which didn’t properly register.
Five was a pain in the bismark to get to and it’s also no longer interactable so I’m guessing (hoping) that when this is fixed we’ll still be credited for it, right?
This is a pretty harsh bug to just leave lingering in the game. What it means is that BOTH of the major raid bosses are currently bugged towards punishing the players for participating — Tequatl ragequits and the Wurm is still denying people the Golden Chest.
Can we at least get an indication that you guys are working on a fix, and, if possible, when we might expect to see it?
Noticed this too, and yes it does seem to be happening with greater frequency around the world bosses than anywhere else. I seem to get it a lot around the major ones like Tequatl and Jormag and it does seem to have started with the patch. Quite a sizeable number of my guildmates have been affected at the boss sites, and have been mentioning doing fractals and dungeons and getting cheated out of their rewards by this random disconnect as well.
Also before the patch I had no technical issues entering packed-full maps and staying there with no issues (I’ve regularly done Tequatl since September, just by way of example), but since the Megaserver patch dropped I’ve had to turn my player model count settings all the way down, and even turn the nametags off just to stop full crashes of the client as well, and they always seem to happen only where a large number of players are coming together, like bosses and wvw. Just to reiterate, player population causing crashes and disconnects was not an issue before the patch.
It’s not the only issue either. The bone wall that she puts up remains after party wipe and requires the party to re-wipe to clear it, and on our last attempt, she reset her health when she went into her first lightning projectile spin.
Even if there’s a tell some of us are missing or just bad luck with her scorpion wires getting past our blocks and reflects, or whatevs, there’s still something wrong with the boss at the moment. I mean I’m pretty sure she’s not supposed to reset her health mid-fight or leave the bone wall up until the party’s given a blood sacrifice…
Same here. I’ve had the opportunity to read the book, but I don’t actually own it, which makes me very sad because it’s prohibitively expensive on the secondary market. The only thing that bugged me about the book was it was very obvious that the bulk of the content in the book was collected early in production. Not really a downside per se since the book’s gorgeous, it just would have been awesome to see later concepts and such.
But! It’d be absolutely amazing to see a sort of ‘volume 2’ come into print covering the living world season 1 concepts like SAB, Scarlet’s stuff, Cutthroat Politics, Dragon Bash, Halloween, Wintersday… sorta like how that… other MMO brings out a new hardcover artbook every year or two with their expansion packs covering the new concepts and art
I’d like to add to this and say that on the kill we just achieved (11pm server time spawn) I did receive the Wurm’s Golden Chest, however, I didn’t receive the big boss chest that appears on the ground.
Really, horribly upsetting when you’ve sat through an hour of set-up, spent your buff consumables and gone through the rigmarole of getting into the right server with the rest of your group to attempt an event that still often fails, succeed, get excited, and then get cheated out of a good half or more of the reward you earned by a random bug picking you out of the group like some kind of sadistic RNG algorithm gone mad.
Part of me wants to hope that Anet might be kind enough to extend a bit of generosity to people who have reported encountering this bug but I know not to get my hopes up. But please please PLEASE Anet can you fix these bugs with the wurm? It’s already such a challenging, coordination-reliant raid encounter that to have these two bugs running concurrently; the chests not always awarding properly and the wurm’s erratic HP self-drain mucking up the coordination… it’s turning the whole thing into a stressful, uncertain chore.
Besides, it’s already pretty easy to deduce the new zones are going to be in the west. When Belinda mentions her new assignment investigating black market connections in Brisban, it’s quite likely her assignment has something to do with the impassible bandit fort in Vandal’s Claim. There’s also an active visible zone portal on the other side of a broken bridge in Lionshead Outcrops. The leyline clearly passed through Thaumanova, so it’s also easy to presume Mordy’s out the same way somewhere.
All conjecture of course but it is dreadfully convenient that a sibling of one of the main characters would just turn up at The Dead End while we were there and just casually talk about going out in the direction of the Maguuma Wastes at the beginning of a new season and in the wake of a dragon awakening.
I really hope they fast-track a fix to this because it’s starting to get to the point on my server where players are getting really nasty with each other when the knights come up. Some people want to stick it out and get to the boss for the boss chest and others are insisting on the champ runs, making it impossible for the people who want to go to Scarlet. And then people start kittening their capslocks and it just goes downhill from there.
And then the overflow I was just in, the hologram didn’t drop its chest on at least one of the platforms (we couldn’t get a definite on if it happened on the others; my platform failed and there was no word either way from the other). I’m not sure if this is happening every time or even a lot of the time now, but if it is, then there really is no point running the event at the moment.
Sure folks are just going to farm for supply bags and champ boxes in the meantime, but if it carries on for too long, even after the bug is fixed it’s going to be an uphill battle getting a lot of those people back to the Knights after having wasted so many hours with no reward. And that’s of course going to impact the overall experience for everybody playing.
I also love the idea of earnable particle effects for our armour — something like dyes, but for floaty, glowy things would be amazing. Further, I would really like to second the folks who said that dyes really need to be account bound instead of soulbound. If nothing else, at least make Rare or Event (F&F/TA) dyes account bound. It takes a heck of a lot of the fun out of customising your characters, especially on alts, when you have to re-purchase your expensive dyes. It also takes the fun out of identifying a duplicate rare dye if you have to think about whether you need/want it for an alt instead of selling it on.
Regarding meta-achieve skins and items, like the Shatterer/Tequatl wings and the Fervid Censer: it would be great if these were like the Achieve Chest skins in that we could withdraw multiples of them. At the moment it kind of sucks that I have to transmute my backpieces just to keep my wings (having to buy the L80 TM stones no less to do so), and I can’t just go an buy another skin on the TP for gear swapping/alts. Tbh I really don’t understand why we can have as many Zenith/Hellfire/Radiant achieve skins as we want but we can’t get another of a meta-achieve skin. As long as they remain Account Bound and unsalvageable, I don’t really see how this could be abused.
- Ranger Pets: There’s really not a lot of variety in the pets Rangers have at their disposal at the moment, in terms of types and skins (I mostly mean skins and species, but other Rangers are probably more concerned about getting a little variety in mechanics). The addition of the Reef Drake was wonderful, but that was a year ago now. It would be good to see Raptors and Griffons finally added.
- Ranger Pets – Rare Pets: An incentive to get people to more widely explore the world could be to add rare pets for Rangers. These don’t necessarily have to be more powerful (though that would only add to the incentive if one would consider them to be, for example, ‘exotic’ pets), but rather to be one-every-now-and-then spawns of pets already in the pool but with rare skins. Say, for instance, a rare Drake might spawn somewhere in Snowden Drifts with the exact same stats and skills as an existing Drake, but with a fascinating new skin (imagine a Frost Drake with a glowing or crystal-y fin, etc). If this Drake spawned only once every few hours in a different place within a certain area, and only one spawned at a time, it would make the pet more desirable. Perhaps a pet that could only be found at the end of a difficult JP, or pets that can only be found during the in-game day/night.
- Ranger Pets – Support Pets: I know this has been mentioned before, but it would be good to see a new class of pet that focuses more specifically on support/buffs than offence.
I really agree with the points suggested regarding minipets. I think a lot of people would like to see more done with them.
At the moment, they serve absolutely no purpose besides being an almost tragic money sink (both in-game gold, and gems), especially since now you only get a title for completing collection 1, nothing for collection 2, and with the exception of the Reef Rider, Tequatl and the Risen Hylek, you can only source them from either LS or the Black Lion.
I think having Teq and the Hylek drop from an event was a fantastic step in the right direction for making minis more accessible.
- 1: Minipet arena: This was something that we saw in preview but it didn’t end up in the finished game. I think it would be safe to assume that it might end up in the game in the future in that case, though if sooner rather than later, Anet might find people more willing to drop gems on the mini packs and the value of pets to increase on the BLTC, further incentivising players to buy the random sets, especially if there are progressive rewards for playing the activity.
- 2: Progressive Minipet Rewards 1 Could even be as simple as better achievement rewards for meeting goals regarding number of pets, number of pets summoned, number of wins in the arena. We currently only have one pet-related reward, and that’s a title for completing Set 1. At the moment we have absolutely no incentive to complete set 2. Considering the expense involved with gathering the minipets, it is a bit of a lacklustre reward. A better reward might be a title and a pet specific to the achievement.
- 3: Progressive Minipet Rewards 2: Let’s assume we’ve got the minipet arena up and running. It would be an interesting addition if minipets used in the arena could ‘earn’ — whether by meeting objectives or being levelled — boons that they could apply while in use. Obviously to have a minipet arena game, the minipets themselves would need to be categorised into types, much like with ranger pets. So, for instance, if you have a moa mini that has won enough times in the arena, it could apply a swiftness boon while summoned. If balancing became an issue, it could be done much like with ranger Spirits: while summoned the mini moa might have, say, a 40% chance to apply 5 seconds of swiftness every 10 seconds. Higher level minipets might apply longer boons or higher stacks thereof. Rare pets, like acheivement, LS and rare drop pets (think Reef Drake, Toxic Krait, Clockwork Horror, Tequatl, etc) might have their own type category altogether and apply better boons, or have higher apply chance (80% instead of 50%, for instance).
- 4: Discoverable Minipets: Some people have already mentioned incentives for people to go back into lower level zones once world completion is done and L80 is reached. What about pets that can only be acquired by finding them in the open world? There are a lot of random items scattered around the maps that really don’t serve a purpose beyond being picked up and thrown at something. In the case of eggs, what if every so often one of those eggs was a mini instead? Let’s say we have a mini for each of the griffon species in the game. One might be won in a minigame, one might be in a mini set on the BLTC, one might drop from a mob (say hawkeye griffin mini dropping from hawkeye griffin). But perhaps the Mini Owl Griffin can only be acquired if you’re lucky enough to find it in an Owl Griffin nest? Reef Drake minis might reenter the game by being lootable from the Reef Drake Broodmother’s cave. What if I could get a Mini Branded Lieutenant from killing the adds during the fight with the Shatterer? Maybe there is a mini I can only get from some spot in WvW, in a place where I might have to fight other players to have a chance at looting it (like the WvW JPs) These kinds of things would not only add a bit of variety and interest to collecting the minis, but would also serve to bring players back into abandoned, desolate maps.
- 5: Craftable Minipets: Having mentioned all the random bits and pieces all over the map, what if some of these things, like the feathers, bones, ice shards, metal things or scales could be collected to craft into new minis?
- 6: Minipet UI Options: One of the single best ideas I saw suggested was adding an option to the UI (Hero panel) for one or two minis to be ‘equipped’, with a check box to toggle automatic summoning. That was brilliant. I love it. And I also agree: folks would get attached to their favourites. I would love love love to see this.

It is definitely a bug. It’s not lag.
This exact thing has happened to me maybe a tiny handful of times before last patch, but since patch it’s happened to me almost 9 of every 10 times I respawn. Sometimes it happens without even taking a step, porting randomly between the gingerbread and snowman platforms, or the JP floor and the platform. It’s also happened while standing still on Tixx’s platform. The number of people in the instance doesn’t seem to have any bearing on it either :<
It’s completely random and thanks to how often it happens it’s made it virtually impossible to do the JP for the people experiencing the bug. Which near as I can tell from talking to other people in the instance and out of it is quite a few :<
And?
So Teq’s the only one and ‘visit the laurel vendor’, ‘spend some karma’, ‘spend some badges of honor’ or ‘flush something down the mystic toilet’ aren’t just as much brainless garbage dailies as turning up in the last minute of a Teq spawn, tagging him, and chilling your self-centred self out for a minute or two?
Please. It’s no more all about you as it is about me. Teq’s in the dailies pool and you don’t like that because you’ve decided that it either takes too much effort or too little (real glass half empty and half full type, aren’tcha) — well Mists are also in the dailies pool and I don’t like that because I can’t justify structuring my free time around when we aren’t actually Outnumbered for a change. The difference here is that I am not so small-minded and self-centred that I get my knickers in a knot just because something in the game isn’t tailored to my specific whims or expectations.
If you’re going to waste your time getting hot under the collar about something why not take up an issue that actually impacts playability in the long term instead of something so arbitrary as some petty, ancillary dailies for pity’s sake. Seriously, they’re dailies. They’re designed to be finished within the day. I honestly can’t think of anything less important in the entire game as what comes out of a pool of meaningless daily play suggestions.
If anything the Teq one is a GREAT addition because there’re options for completion. Lazy or in a rush? Tag in at the last minute. Have the time to spare and want to work for your daily point? Find a group and make an effort, even if you fail. Can’t be kitten d either way? Find a different daily to do and get the skritt over it.
But hey, you go on as much as you like, I won’t stand in the way of your right to voice an opinion that’s different from mine. But if you think anything’s going to actually come of it then you’re as deluded as I would be if I expected Anet to make dungeons soloable because I don’t like partying with unfamiliar people.
I have absolutely no trouble at all killing Teq every day and I’m not in any of the Teq guilds, nor to I make any particular special effort.
On the other hand, I (like a heck of a lot of people) have a lot of trouble with the Mad King’s Clocktower JP so what the hey, since we’re firing pot shots at mini-achieves that just so happen to fall outside the realm of ‘kitten -easy’, let’s petition a-net to remove that one, too. Heaven forbid it should be challenging.
Seriously just show up in the last few minutes of his window, plug a few shots at him, jump up onto the eastern cliff out of harm’s way, and go take a bathroom break or gripe on the forums or whatever until he leaves. It’s not gonna kill you and it’s a heck of a lot quicker and easier than some of the other things they have in the list :|
I’d like to help out; I have a l80 ranger to bring. Are you guys gonna plan specific times/servers?
