Ok so this is rather exciting! So many questions, I’ll just start with a few maybe add more if I think of them.

1. So this year instead of the Canthan new year we were given Dragon Bash, which came with the new Dragon’s Jade weapon skins. Do any of these things correlate to GW1 with things such as the CNY and the Luxon House’s use of Jade to make weapons and such?

2. In GW1 I am the ascended one, and my armor is infused against spectral agony. How, lore wise, are you justifying the current names: “ascended armor” and “infusion slots?”

3. So there were tons of hints during the Bazzaar of the four winds that the Zepherites were the ones housing the offspring of glint. So when do we get crystal dragon minis?? But seriously any kind of confirmation about that?

4. So about the human gods. They abandoned their pet race, have disappeared from the known world, and some even left behind their special champions. (see personal story. one of the seven reapers of grenth)
Are there any plans to bring them back to tyria?
If not why do you keep throwing back pieces and such things at us that are themed after them?
Why are we not seeing more that showcase the attributes of our spirits of the wild?
Or something that shows the might of the charr legions?
The gods are gone and no one can tell us why. So why should we care about them?

Hey my fellow rangers!!!

So a little info on me: I have been playing ranger since GW1 and honestly have never really felt at home with any other class. Since BW1 I have been pouring my love into my ranger and I have found that I am best at playing the straight up power ranger. I do quite well against most people I go up against and I hardly ever go down in PvE however…..Yesterday I met another ranger in WvW that was running some type of spirit it build and she thoroughly handed my my a** to me in a neat little wrapped box with a nice bow on top. The only time I have ever been destroyed so fast was against a condition necro who was amazing.

I mainly PvE and WvW so that is the builds I am looking for.

I have gotten rather good with my current build and I don’t want to change it however I have a second 80 ranger I would like to gear and build differently just to keep things interesting. If someone could point me in the direction of this spirit build I would really appreciate it. I’ve been looking over the skills and traits myself, and taking notes on some builds I have found online but there are a lot of little nuances that vary between them. Idk if we have a meta spirit build or not but if so I can’t seem to find it. Thanks for the help guys.

Rangers – FTW

Hey I’m a quite new to the necro profession and I could use a little help. I was making alts for the acievements and turned out a beautiful sylvari necro and as I was making my way through the professions I found that necro is quite a blast.

I’m only 32 right now and I was trying to find somewhere that talked about current meta builds for PvE so that I can get a better grasp of how the class works.

I have noticed that when I look at my screenshots they are much darker than my game is when I am playing. I am simply using the in-game prnt scrn button not any kind of 3rd party screencap ability. I was messing with the graphic options to see if I could find a solution and I did see that when I put the game into Fullscreen Windowed mode the game colors matches the screen shot…..and doesn’t look near as good.

Anyone know how to get my screens to look the same as my game?

I have been working on my HoM points slowly, since I’m also keeping up with the LS, and I am to the point now where I mostly need mats and cash for armor and weapons. So I figured I would ask if anyone had any left over stuff in GW1 they don’t need anymore, if you would consider a donation.

And before you rant and rave about how your supposed to work for the points, I do understand that and I’ll get them eventually I just figured I would search out any generous souls. After I finish getting to 30 (18atm) I will turn around and give away anything I have left to someone else needing it so….anyways.

I believe the fourth slot need to be filled with one of the inscriptions that you can get from salvaging exotic items. Using one of those basically demand an extra 5 ecto for the combine to work. I guess Anet thought it would’ve been too valuable a salvage drop otherwise.

Any lvl of certainty on this or just assumption…and are there 7 inscriptions that you can only get from slavaging?

lol I have thought about the 3D printer idea before actually but I have to agree that I came to the same conclusion. Learning it well enough to get it to look good isn’t really something I care to do. I can just “farm” cash from my job and buy it from them.

Honestly my biggest confusion is the lack of clothing and accessories. I get that personalized stuff would be harder to come up with but hoodies and shirts? Not to mention that they could even do some limited runs of living story inspired stuff for some of the bigger events such as halloween/wintersday/dragon bash. They could do a limited run that would fit the timing of the events plus players love to have exclusive stuff.

The simple answer is that manufacturing costs and the profit margins aren’t necessarily worth it to NCSoft since it is ultimately NCSoft who would be doing it, not ANet.

Do you really believe that with all the money we spend on gems and in game items that NC Soft wouldn’t turn a decent profit by actually making things I can touch, wear, and use in real life? I’m normally pretty reserved on the interwebs about things so if I want it bad enough I know there are others who feel the same way.

Um, yes. I spent ten dollars this month for 800 gems to get the salvage slot machine. That is $10 of pure profit with zero overhead and the is the least I could pay for gems without using gold. In order to make actual physical things they need to pay for design, materials, manufacturing, and shipping. Then they have to sell the thing for a cost you’d be willing to pay. How much of that cost do you really think is left after the fact. From what I understand of the process, we’re usually talking a dollar, kind of profit. It’s not worth it when they can make ten times that for literally nothing.

I agree……to a point. While the cost of making an in game item is lower it is not cost free unless every part of the process that gets that item from the drawing board to the game is free. There is no such thing as 100% profit when you are creating something to sell, somewhere down the line something/someone is causing you a production cost. However things like this can be rolled into bigger packages, i.e. story updates, so that the cost is brought to a minimum.

I was going to argue the profit margins on the other however I must concede to your statements. I did some research and it would be only a $1-$2 profit if they sold these items at a reasonable price.

While that is rather disheartening I do hope that eventually we will get some official merch. I would love to sport some GW2 stuff.

Also agree with some of the upper points that state that the profit margin might simply be too small for arenanet, given their limited resources (= non infinite staff) and the amount of work that crawls into development of guild wars 2 already AND how much money they make of gemsales already which requires no “non-virtual” produtcs, no shipping hassle etc it makes sense from a bussiness perspective that they’d prefer to focus on adding more to the gemstore rather then setting up a secondary physical store.

I can agree with the staffing point and even the hassle point. I do believe however that A-net is getting to a point where these things should be seriously considered.

would be cheaper than having anet use one to make ur character then sell it to u. after all how else would they have each character SOO customized to each player, especially with so many options to customize your character.

so just get yourself a 3d printer and u can make your own and prob even make your money back by charging friends to make theirs

Not sure it’d be legal to charge your friends for the construction of GW2 models.

I don’t think it would be any different than having a painting commissioned of your character by some of the community artists. It is simply a different art medium. Now if I start slapping the GW2 logo on some shirts and selling it I might get a lawsuit or two.

Really? I find it wonderful that the GW2 marketing department comes up with stuff to send to blogs each month at all. I find it all sorts of amazing if it is a $65 pocketwatch instead of “just” some printed posters. Come on, now.

I mean that I want it to actually be from A-Net not just a matching item that I purchased on my own. It would be cool to get one and customize it, but with special edition stuff it feels better to, in my opinion, to say “yeah i got that limited from A-net” adds an air of exclusivity i guess. Just personal preference really.

I have made a few posts/comments before about how much we need more official merch on the GW2 site but this latest gift to the media sites has officially pushed me over the edge.

I have tried just being nice but it has gotten myself and the rest of the merch desiring community no where. Many of us went a bit crazy with the election stuff and we demanded that we be given access to the campaign items and I am grateful for the img files that we were able to use to make our own posters. (thank you a lot actually they will look amazing when they get framed on my wall.)

But I can’t just go have a watch printed out and I need that beautiful creation, along with a “few” other items, such as:
Hoodies
Shirts (crew and v-neck)
Posters
Stickers (anywhere use and bumper)
Art Books
Coffee Mugs (ceramic and tumblers)
Pint Glasses (for those wonderful guild mission evenings)
And of course the rest of Destiny’s Edge in full detail and ratio as Rytlock to complete the set.

If you are like me and want more shineys then please leave a comment/rant/love note, or whatever you think will compel the real life RNG gods, or wake the mystic Dijin.

Yeah the free songs are awesome, and while I’m not looking to have my wallet plugged straight into anets accounts I would like something a little more substantial than just the gems to show my love for the game.

This is what I’m saying Anet needs to break this cycle of missed sales opportunities.

I’m not sure where to post this but A-net needs to let us get our hands on the election posters, buttons, etc. that they sent to some of the MMO websites. No questions, just put them for sale in the GW2 merch store and you can have my money. I’ve spent, and will continue to spend money on gems but this is something I need.

This quiver will probably be a gem store skin not another craft-able quiver. That is assuming they continue with it the way they have for a couple of events. Hopefully they won’t be dumb enough to make them BLC drops.

Whenever I am just playing the game I have no issues at all however I every time I try to take a screenshot my computer gives me the blue screen of death. It doesn’t matter if I am near other players, in a city, or even at the character select screen.

I am not using any graphical mods of any kind and my system:

intel i7 3.3ghz
AMD HD 7970
6gb RAM

I have already checked all my drivers to make sure they are up to speed. I am by no means a computer whiz, I know enough to get around though. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Thanks for the replies, I do know that generally anet themselves probably wouldn’t instaban some one but I have heard rumors that there is an auto-ban algorithm or something of the sort so that was my main concern.

I have a friend that doesn’t really play anymore and the other day when I was discussing my gear progress he told me that if I wanted to then he would give me a large sum of his gold. I have read to many posts about accounts getting perma-banned due to friends just helping each other out.

So does anyone have any suggestions on how we can do this without me losing access to my account for however long it would take to get unbanned?

So I am in the process of re-equiping my ranger with non-magic find armors and trinkets, and so I’m in need of a little help with the remodeling of my trait trees.

My build goes as follows:

Shortbow – Sword/Axe

7 – Sharpening Stone
8 – Signet of The Wild
9 – Quickening Zephyr

and I believe my traits are currently (I’m not able to check at the moment to be sure) at:

30/25/0/15/0

This build has been working for my play style for quite awhile, which I know play style is important, however I would really like some suggestions on optimizing the best I can.

So if you have suggestions or links please……teach me your ways.

So for the past month or so I have been searching for a new guild on my home server (Isle of Janthir) and to my dismay I have had no luck, so as much as I hate to it seems it is time to start looking at possibly transferring servers.

So does anyone know what servers are the most active or do you have any suggestions for active mature PvX guilds?

So some friends of mine and I all made this guild with the intention of getting serious play time, and a website etc. etc. However as is with the whole having a life/college/work we are not nearly as serious as we once imagined.

So this leaves me looking for a guild.

Personally I play when I can but I have a lot that I do outside the game so I am not always on or available so I am not looking for anything over the top hardcore. I do like to play together and I do my best to learn and share any and all information I have.
Basically this is what I am looking for:

- Large player base
-mature I’m not 12 and I prefer meeting and befriending people that can add to/challenge me intellectually
- I play when I can but if I have a week or so that I don’t have the time to play I prefer not be threatened with getting kicked from the guild

Hopefully this is not to much to ask if you are part of a guild that you believe I would be able to make a positive contribution to feel free to contact me. I am most likely not going to respond to a copy/paste guild ad, I played GW1 for quite a while and I know that the community here is very much centered around human interaction so feel free to chat with me ask questions or whatever you feel you need to do.

I am currently in a guild and I have become pretty good friends with the guys I play with but, there are not many of us and I am probably the most active member of my guild. That said I would like to find more people or maybe even another guild that I can be a part of along side my current one so that I will have more people to network and play with.

Ok so I’ve been searching for a website that has good information for people doing recipe research in the mystic forge and everyone has pointed me to the wiki. i know all about the wiki. i have added to the wiki many times myself.

however it does not say a single thing about what recipes use the obsidian shards other than for mystic clovers. unverified recipes such as

shard + ecto + coins + scroll

i was dropping random tiems today and found this one, does anyone know what it makes? and has anyone found any other recipes that use the shards?

I was wondering if there was a website, or forum section, or something that had a comprehensive compilation of all the mystic forge weapon recipes. Yes I have seen the reddit post:

however this post is just that a post, it is not an actual database, and I have found many things on the gwdb.com and guildhead.com to be incomplete and/or lacking correct information.

I have been with the GW community for several years in the first game, and since bw1 in GW2 so if there is no such place I would definitely like to put one together myself as my way to help the community. So if you know of a wonderful place that my eyes simply have not discovered please share. If not and you would like to see something like so put together that feedback would be welcome as well.

It’s armor + trinkets + food. I have a full set of explorer armor with 5 pirate runes and a noble rune + opal orichalcum rings/amulets and then if you eat omnomberry bars it adds an additional 30% for 30 minutes so mine gets up to about 140ish %

So in my quest for the next amazing tool of distruction to wreak havoc across the world of Tyria I have come upon some information I am wondering if anyone can shed some light on.

In another post I noticed that a replier mentioned that a gift might be the missing ingredient in the recipe for an EXOTIC weapon the op was searching for.

Does anyone have any information on this idea and if so would you please share with the community.

I personally am trying to acquire an Ice Dragon Sword or even the Jormag version. (for those that don’t know it is basically a blue version of the skin on Rytlocs sword.)

maybe something like: liquid flame + gift of ice + ori sword blade + scroll???

idk but if you have info or the ability to test these in the forge please share.

So I have been hunting all over the place to see if someone has any information on how to obtain an Icy Dragon Sword or Corrupted Norn Sword. There seems to be a lot of people interested yet no one has said where to get them. drops? mystic forge? crafting? If you know anything please share.

We are simply a group of college age guys looking for anyone and everyone that wants to play and learn together. We understand the strain of balancing school, work, and (most importantly) GW time. At the moment we mostly focus on PvE and occasionally get the urge to kill some other players in WvW. We don’t have any requirements as to skill level, age, gender etc. however we do seek to keep our experiences in the game fun and simple. We each have different things we like to explore and sharing discoveries between each other is important.

As a personal veteran of Guild Wars 1 I have learned that this game is very community based and the experience you receive playing it is much more appreciated with plenty of like minded individuals to play with. As such this has become the basis of our guilds goal: build community.

So I have just figured out how to make the destroyer skinned exotics and I was wondering if anyone had per-chance come across the recipes for anymore special skins???

Also does anyone know of special leather working armor skins? I haven’t discovered anything yet but there has to be more than just 5 skins for craftable armor.

I must say that you are spot on sir. I do love crafting, and discovering new recipes is a constant joy. However the terrible cost/profit ratio and the lack of unique crafting items is a slight turn off.
I think it would be neat if some of the professions could cross-craft. (Ex. crafting jewels to place into high lvl armor sets or weapons with unique skins)

However the game is young and I believe there is more than enough time to implement even more crafter friendly features into this already amazing game.

Idk about the fourth slot in crafting discovery I’m still working on it, however the “junk” trophies are different than the trophies I am talking about. The Large Skull (yellow name) and the Heart of Fire/Darkness (green name) wont sell to vendors when you click sell junk you have to actually select them then hit sell. If you get one you’ll understand when you see it. The item description says trophy but it doesn’t act like one.

Just fyi I have also found a Giant Eye (yellow name) that seems to be the same type item.

you can vendor the hearts and tp them my main issue is that i cant find the recipes that use them. I did find a way to make beaded weps. one of the main components you get from a hylek karma merch

I also do leatherworking and huntsman, and what everyone is saying about focusing is dead on. I focused on leatherworking first, got it to 400 and now im doing the huntsman.

Just one simple thing to remember is not to sell ANY tier drops you get for any reason or you will regret it. I thought I had plenty of tier 3 items so I sold some to make a quick buck and when I got done and started with huntsman I had to spend a lot of time and money when I got to that tier of crafting.

It’s not easy but being able to make your own armor AND weps for your class is really nice.

Okay that definitely makes a lot of sense and I can say that my discovery stress lvls agree with it lol.

So now the main question is where the heck are the recipes that use the hearts. I personally would imagine a Heart of Fire being used in something similar to a destroyer wep, and a Heart of Darkness for maybe shadow weps?? huh huh huh???? lol thanks for making such a time worthy in game ability, finding these recipes and mats are one of my favorite things to do. You guy/gals at Anet are the absolute best!!!!

I’ve gotten all but one of mine from the bags, mostly medium and large bags.

So I personally love the crafting in game. I do leatherworking and huntsman, and discovery brings me endless hours of joy. Especially when I figured out how to make the different skinned items. However there is one thing that is driving me completely crazy.

What do I do with a Heart of Fire or a Heart of Darkness???

I found the recipes for the Godskull Weapons and they require a rare crafting that has a similar info box. I was assuming that they were used in recipes but I cannot use them in discovery mode and I have not found any recipes that involve them.

Upon searching the different sites I have discovered there are quite a few items just like this. If you know either where the recipes are or how to use them I would love to know.
