Hey guys,
the past days i thought about the Dhuumfire – Changes and i kinda changed my opinion about the changes. I can understand that many Necro are getting mad because of the coming changes but i dont think that it is necessarily a nerf, it depends.
Im focusing on sPvP and WvW.

Life Blast:
One problem could be classes like a thief or warrior which can easily evade and/or become immune to conditions. – The easiest counter do that is to do not waste ur life blast then. Thats another good side of the patch You controll the cooldown on Dhuumfire.
One general thing about Death Shroud: You are more effective if u are close to the target because your DS skills are harder to dodge AND your fear lasts longer when standing close to ur target. When ur target is feared you can easily land ur Life Blast and other DS skills.

Also Life blast does decent damage even if you are running rabid stats. A crtical hit does around 1000 to 1500 damage which can really make squishy targets go down even faster.

No Life – Force:
So what happens if you have no life – force? Its is very unlikely that u run around without life force especially if you are in PvE or WvW. Even if u have no LF you can fill that bar extremely fast with skills such as Spectral Walk/Armor or killing ur own minions. If you have 15 in soul reaping you get another Spectral Armor so Life Force actually is no problem.
Its the same as with Warrior they have their adrenaline up all the time.

Old Dhuumfire – Build:
Will it change? I dont think so. Im pretty sure it wil stay the same. The damage output will stay the same and life blast might also give a extra dmg boost. Also the fire duration will be increased to 3 seconds.
If we get dire in PvP, i think we can still can play dhuumfire but im sure there will be more build which can be played with dhuumfire. If we run with Dire life blast wont do as much dmg as wih rabid but we are much more sustainable.

30 Points into Spite is too much
At that point i agree but i dont think this is too much of an issue. Still i think it should be a master trait.

Im happy that my build never got hit by the nerf around Dhumbfire.. mostly..

- Life Steal? – Not Viable. If u focused ur dead, if not ur life steal is useless because u dont need to heal.

Maybe to you but not everyone try to rush in and get killed in your play-style.

I’m curious, hoW Do yOu kNow how the guy plays? Are you friends with him? Because you could have told him that in-game and not post it here; or are you a necromancer irl and sensed it?

On subject @ rest, I haven’t seen the stream yet, don’t run condition builds and don’t know how much of a nerf it is, but if it’s proc’ed with life blast, won’t it make dhuumfire more viable with dire sets vs rabid, less need for precision, more survivability; in WvW at least? (I mean, not in a good way with what dhuumfire did to the rest of the skills, and I’m actually asking for clarification from anyone more familiar than me)

I should have mentioned that i was talking about sPvP. But there is no Dire in sPvP atm. But still my point is that 30 points is was too much for such a trait, look at engi. Even though Engi arent op they have a similar trait in their precision line.
And without LF? u are basicly fighting with 40 points spent because dhuumfire is useless then…

I guess some ppl dont get what i wanted to say:
So, we spend 30 points into a power traitline for a almost 3s burning. Now when we have no LF we loose a lot of Condition Damage output. Also the cast time for life blast is quite long so if u run with low amounts of LF u wont be able to even land Lifeblast. It even can be dodged now or blocked. All our DS abilities are on long cast time expect DS3. So on low lifeforce we have to decide if we want burning,beeding or Torment.
So its a complete waste of traitpoints, period.

Now that dhuumfire will be bound on life blast to make it more “skilled” they killed a build that was already almost broken. ArenaNets attempt to make condi necros require skill totally went in the wrong direction. Still they want us to be an attrition class.

“Necros are now weaker than when everybody was crying about them” – Nemesis.

Thats totally true if we look at Conditionmancer. But what are our alteratives?
- You can run Wellomancer with direct damage but if doesnt fit ur playstyle what do u take then?
- Life Steal? – Not Viable. If u focused ur dead, if not ur life steal is useless because u dont need to heal.
- Spectral? – You will end up running with barb, zerker or soldiers which makes u powerancer. Not Viable
- Minion Master? If you want to go tanky but its very easy.

ArenaNet promised us build variety now we actually have 3 builds. Or three kinds of builds. And Life Steal is not viable.

So, back to the actual topic. They said that they want to make dhuumfire more skilled so that its not random anymore. But now that its not instant anymore S/D thiefs will simply dodge it, Warriors will enter a berserker stance which makes Lifeblast useless for condinecros as long BS is up.

ALSO if they get ur LF to 0 you cant use a Trait you HAVE SPENT 30 POINTS INTO A USELESS TRAITLINE FOR! Dhuumfire is not a grandmaster trait anymore…

Why should i spent 30 for a trait which is completely useless if i have no LF? 30 Points is HUGE but where should i spend it then? The Bloodmagic-Line is useless. I already have spent 20 points each into curses and soul reaping.

Conclusion:
So what ArenaNet basicly did is they gave us 30 Points but no real trait to spend it for.
They give us an alternative trait for condi and/or give it to another traitarm, in my opinion.

hey,
his build is amazing, in my opinion because it supports necros “passive” advantages. The Barb amulet increases the total amount of vitality and because necro has the highest health pool u get a lot of HP and life force. Because LF acts like HP u have a total amount of hp of around 40k HP. U also deal alot of damage and u have nice sustain because u have alot of hp.

Hey guys,
since the conditionmancer is now weaker than a minionmaster (in my opinion), i thought i could share my idea of how i would like to play my necromancer.
Keep in mind that its all my opinion.
The actual Topic title was : How i would like to play my necromancer and suggestions to Death Shroud and a cry for necromancer and to AN. But it was too long.

Necromancy is a form of magic involving communication with the deceased – either by summoning their spirit as an apparition or raising them bodily (Wikipedia).

I like the idea of sommuning the bodies of the undead but i think its extremely boring and way to easy to play. I like to have a challenge. Minionmaster is easy for beginners but its nothing for my play style even though it fits best to the actual meaning of necromancy.

Conditionmancer was nice but since its not viable anymore i see no reason for me to play it and im sick of people saying " OMG, dhoomfire/terror is a noob build" bla bla bla.

So whats left? – Life steal. And that the way i WANT to play my necromancer but life steal is so bad at the moment even the new healing signets doesn´t make a real difference.

But lets start with the basics:

If i had a choice of every weapon in the game i would take either Greatsword/ Dagger,Warhorn or Axe,Dagger/Greatsword. Apart from that a necromancer cannot use Greatsword id like these combination of weapons, just from a visual perspective because i think these weapons look very good on a necromancer.

And if i could chose the abilities of the greatsword they would all have to do something with life steal and not just life steal and no DMG but or DMG and no life steal i want a healthy dose of everything thats not OP but hard to play and still viable!

Death Shroud:

Now lets come to the core – element of a necromancer- Death Shroud…
I really dont like the idea of DS at the moment. So if i could change DS what would i change? (The following part is difficult to discribe since english is not my mother language) – I would remove all skills that are in DS atm and replace them with new ones but not only five but also add skills from 6 to 9. Now, when you enter death shroud your weapon skills and slot skills become stronger.
Let me give you an example:
- Slot Skill:
Normally Corrupt boon “corrupts” only 5 boons, when used Death Shroud it corrupts more or even all boons.
- Weapon Skill:
Lets take Life Siphon from Dagger. Normally it siphons a medium to small off the enemy and deals a decent amount of DMG (depends). When used in Death shroud it heals your life force and deals more damage.
- Healing Skill:
Consume Conditions is the most often used healing skill for necros and is already powerfull. Still it can be changed into something different for example no heal but sending you conditions back to your foe. I know its like Plague Signet but its just an idea.

Where should this DS idea lead to?
Basicly it should make the Death shroud THE core element of a necromancer. Not the Dhoomfire – Trait or Terror should be the core element it should be DEATH SHROUD!
At the moment Death Shroud is far far far far away from being a Death Shroud.
You can still play as a minionmaster or conditionmancer or life stealer but it will make every build much more viable. Of course it needs some thinking work and some balancing but thats all! And the necromancer deserves it, i mean Necromancer has ONE UNDERWATER ULTIMATE SKILL…ONE and Justin Biebers ** is even longer than the list of Necromancers buffs!!! is even longer than the list of Necromancers buffs!!!*
You would finally have a real porpuse to trait into Soul Reaping and, again, make the Death Shroud a real Death Shroud which can tear your enemies to death!

As a Conditionmancer i want into sould reaping for longer fear. As a minionmancer i didnt even spend a single point into it and a Life Steal doesnt really excist.

Necromancers in Guild Wars 2 suffered too long and its now time for the necromancers! Stop giving warriors more invu. bubbles, stop giving classes immunities to other classes main – damage – source.

Arena Net stated us that we would get build – variety but i dont see any for the necromancer.

NOW, give suggestions for this one or tell us (the necromancer community) your ideas. And if u liked it share so that AN will eventually see it. And please constructive critisism.

ArenaNet we dont want to wait anymore we waited long enough, give us something at least an anouncement for necromancers (positive ones of course). And tell us that you hear us. Please AN do not believe your suggestion-gathering for the 10th of december balance path is enough to make players believe you are trying to do something.
I can so no progress in this game.

Hey,
i noticed that when i cast s5 and i get interrupted in the exact same moment, s5 isnt even casted but has its original CD not 4 s or 5 s, 40 s again.
Is it a bug? and if yes Anet should fix it please because its very annoying, if u can fear ur enemies from an edge

This guy is so kitten. right! How is it possible that a thief can beat 3+ enemies if he is played good? If two players at the same skill level fight each other, who will win? – No one, unless the enemy has better stats or the class has better abilities. A necro cant win against 3+ opponents at the same skill level. Why? Because the abilities arent good enough! Without Death Shroud a necro would be just nothing but still with Death Shroud a necro is not powerfull enough. People may say:" But why am i beaten by necros so often?“- Answer:” Because he was better than you!". Thats the answer. Necro isnt overpowered at all! (btw. im talking about WvWvW)
Let me give you an example:
A famous build for necros is the “Dhoomfire Build”. A Necro won`t be in the Deathshroud for more than 5s. Or even less. He will enter his deathshroud again when he is either almost dead or when he is repeating his rotation.
Why? – Because the only usefull skills in the deathsroud are 2,3 and 5.
Death Shroud NEEDS to be buffed! Life Leech? – Useless!

Again!: When a guardian and necro meet at the same skill level, the guardian would win! Or a thief and so on!
Necro is also extremely slow! Almost every class has a leap and a teleport, an immediate teleport! What the kitten! Look at warriors its the most kitten- runaway – Class in the game. But thats another topic…

SO: What does the necro need? – A buffed death shroud! I think with more abilities not more HP. And the necro needs a higher mobility! Both could be mixed.

That’s strange. In the english version she says something along the lines of “Such a titanic creature leashed to Zhaitan’s will.” She is also called Warden Illyra in the english version…

I can guarantee you that she says that in the german version in p3. I played this path a lot but im not sure about the other npcs.
Maybe its a translation error but it has to be a very big one.

Hey guys,
i just finished an arah p3 and i want to ask u something.
after killing Giganticus Lupicus the npc said “maybe we can save her or his brothers and sisters” in german.
Does anyone know where they are?
I guess that they are the crystal desert because a npc in the Durmand priory ,who is researching into the G – Lupe, says he found the proof that the G – Lupe got wiped out by the Elder Dragons 11000AE after he was in the crytal desert and found bones.

Is there more information about them and what are your thesis?

The skeleton found in the Durmand Priory is a Leviathan, which is a natural sea creature – not related to the Elder Dragons (directly at least).

BTW, the “diary” you make mention of – is a research journal which has a sketch of an Inquest member getting eaten. The game even makes mention that it’s comical, which means it’s not likely to be an accurate case of what happened.

This journal contains notes about a sea beast’s skeleton. There are sketches of what the creature looked like when alive, including a humorous scene in which it’s eating a Inquest agents.

The thing shown on the board in the Chantry of Secrets is also a Leviathan, btw. Not a dragon minion. Nor is there any reason to suspect either Order believes it to be a dragon minion. But… what trap do you talk about? On the board I see with the leviathan sketch, there’s an asura gate and what seems to be an LA arch with ships. No trap designs on it.

(Though now I"m more curious about what the text on that thing says).

Can you proof that it is Leviathan?
Well, if its Leviathan or not it can still be a minion of a dragon right?
And why i think its a trap not an asura portal? Because the head of the sea monster and this arch are connected.

Hey guys,

this post is about the mysterious underwater dragon. In the chantry of secrets !is a board with a poster on it showing a sea monster and some kind of a trap, i guess.
My first thoughts were that this is the dragon. But by time realised thakittens more a minion.
So, lets collect first:
- minion of the dragon
- and trap

Now lets go on…
I got information about a dialogue in CoE that says that the inquest has recently captured one of the minions of the deep see dragon. Now the plans maybe are stolen by the order of whisperer? <- Remember this i will come back later on it.

Collect:
- plans from inquest
- inquest researching the minions of under water dragon

Ok, next…
Then i went to Durmand Priory because they know A LOT so i searched for information there and what a found was sceleton which looks very very very similar to the drawing on the board in the chantry of secrets AND a dairy. When i interacted with the dairy it described a picture in the book which u can see if its it. The book says thakittens a sceleton of a sea monster and that it killed a member of the inquest. Maybe the inquest member is a hint on the captured minion.

Collect:
- sceleton of a sea monster
- hint to the inquest (?)

Ok. Time for explanation:
1. How do the Durmand Priory and order of whisperer got the plan and the sceleton?
- I think it has something to do with the explosion of the thaumanova reactor. Maybe they where thrown all over the world
2. Why is the inquest researching for the dragon?
- They want to use them as a weapon against all.

Lets complete the theory:
The inquest is doing research into the dragon because they want to use them as weapon. They cought a dragon minion and brought him in theit labour under thaumanova reactor.
The reactor blew up because of the imense amount of magic they had to handle with.
So thats how the Durmand priory and order of whisperer got these “artifacts”.

What now?
Remember the fractal Ellen Kiel promised about the thaumanova reactor? Maybe that will bring us to another dragon?

What are ur thoughts? Am i crazy or does that makes sense for u? Anything i could make better?
