Just announced an update in-game, someone commented “I wonder if they are changing the drop-rate on keys, because someone got one?”
Fort Aspenwood
Ok, I have been playing since beta, I’ve had twice as many precursors drop (2) as I’ve had keys drop (1). The only key I’ve ever had drop was during the first week of the game coming out.
Fort Aspenwood
I remember the first time I stumbled upon the Shadow Behemoth. I was in shock, I had a level 16 warrior and I couldn’t believe I had a chance against it. I talked to my guild about it and only 1/3 of them had heard of it. Then SB broke, and didn’t return for months. When it returned it started raining “Final Rest” seemed like everyone was getting that staff. I got 3 of them in a week. I also remember all my guildies meeting every evening at 9pm game time at the diving board in LA. When the game first came out , my guild was in it 24 hours a day. I’m still in that guild, but I’m the only one that still plays daily.

If your color-blind, its worse. They might as well be invisible.

I need to keep track of this posting.

I’ve always loved the stalwart armor for rangers, I have the shoulders and boots, but I will never get the hat.
Fort Aspenwood
I got “The Lover” from the Troll in Queensdale, a week later the Ancient Oakheart dropped “The Bard”. My very first kill in Orr dropped an abyss dye. Around Christmas this past year I had 4 ascended weapon chests drop from Tequatl in a week, I also got 2 mini Tequatls in the same week. Final Rest has dropped around 7 times for me, including 3 times in the first week it was dropping. Bonetti’s rapier twice, Cobalt twice. I’ve done pretty good with the drops, made some guildies very jealous.
Fort Aspenwood
My ranger has the stalwart shoulders, I think they were the best looking medium armor shoulders in the game. I’m glad I got them when I did.
Fort Aspenwood
The Lover from the Troll in Queensdale, the Bard from the Ancient Oakheart in Queensdale, about 2 weeks apart.

I agree with the premise that drops for doing Triple Trouble are not worth the effort. I have been in TTS since the beginning and have well over 500 Tequatl kills. I usually log-in every day for at least one Teq kill. I have been on a few Great Wurm kills, but I have also missed quite a few because space is limited. There are usually enough people for one raid but rarely enough for 2. If you can’t get into the instance within the first few minutes of it opening, you most likely won’t get to participate. The difference in the drops between the two fights makes the Wurm not worth the effort for me. Statements such as “play just have fun” are cliches that do not apply to the issues raised I.E. the drop rates for Triple Trouble are not in keeping with the difficulty of the task. Tequatl is killed multiple times a day with pick-up groups. The large guilds have done a great job in teaching the smaller guilds and servers the mechanics of the fight. Triple Trouble is different because the amount of coordination involved cannot be accomplished with pick-up groups and small guilds. If the rewards were greater, more effort might be made to learn and coordinate for the fight.
In Teq fights you are guaranteed at least 3 rares every fight, plus a whole bunch of greens and karma. I usually get 5 or 6 rares and an occasional exotic. I have received 3 weapons chests from Teq, and a whole bunch of minis.
From the Wurm I have never received the regurgitated armor or any minis. I have been in too many fights to count where it looks like we may win, only to lose at the last second because the wurm went into an invurn zone. The amount of coordination coupled with the sketchy drops makes the Wurm fight not worth the trouble.
And yes, I play the game to have fun. I consider the Teq fight fun, which is why I try to do it every day.

I’m stuck. I hope this is fixed soon.

Fort Aspenwood
My Norn warrior, Roper the Ratt, banded chest, temple leggings and boots, T1 helm, first haven gauntlets, and deathly bull pauldrons. Colors are currently abyss and burnished steel with antique bronze for the leather parts, but i change the dyes almost daily.
Fort Aspenwood
Here is the latest and probably last armor set for my Norn Guardian “Sophie the Golden.” She uses T1 cultural chest, the Magnus eye-patch, and the rest is Aetherblade. The colors are royal purple and gold.

tried 2 different characters from 2 different entrances, no cinematic. Fort Aspenwood server.

I just finished killing 2 more knights, gold medal participation. No loot or anything else. This makes 16 knights with no loot and 1 knight with loot. The Knight that did drop loot was 2 days ago.
I have tried being in a party, drinking the scarlet army potion, eating power food and having the vigilance buff, and even doing all 4 at the same time. It has made no difference in loot drops, they are still at zero for 2 days. Is this a bug or RNG?
Fort Aspenwood
Once again I did all 3 knights, no loot. Third time through tonight. I really would like for a-net to tell us if this is the way it is intended to work. Should I submit an in-game bug report?

Knights aren't dropping loot [Resolved]

Went in again tonight, gold medal on all knights, didn’t even stop to rez so I could get more damage, still nothing. I have now killed 12 knights with only one drop.
Fort Aspenwood
I honestly think this is a troll post. I have killed 6 knights, full party, using food buffs, scarlet army buffs, vigils vigilance buff, and gold medal participation, I have received a drop from one knight. If you are getting too much loot your game must be picking up someone else’s loot. Maybe that’s where the loot I’m missing is going.

I’ve killed 6 knights so far, received loot from 1. This is with a full party and using food, the scarlet army potion, and the vigil vigilance buff. Maybe its not a bug, maybe its a feature!

I had to add a picture with the new Spinal Blades backpack, sets off the gas mask very nicely.
Fort Aspenwood
My Norn warrior, rocking the gas mask with heavy plate armor and a peacemaker rifle. Colors are mithril, purple tint and citrus.
Fort Aspenwood
What is a spy kit? I checked the wiki and cannot find it.
Fort Aspenwood
It was there during beta.
Fort Aspenwood
Scarlet’s lock-box usually has the best drops. The others are pretty much the same.

I love the marionette fight. It is one of my favorites and I try to go on two or three runs a day. I have won quite a few, and lost the same. It is a very good way to learn how to dodge, and pay attention to your foe.
My only complaint happened over the weekend. We were in an Overflow, 5 minutes to go, people were whining about overflow. There were no commanders, so myself and another player were giving directions in map-chat on how to win in each lane. All of a sudden I got hit with “Message suppression.” It irritated me because in LA the fevered ramblings of a diseased mind can spend hours discussing the latest conspiracy theory of A-net controlling the ecto market through global positioning satellites, yet when we are using map-chat to help set up a fight we get suppressed. We ended up winning the fight, despite having an overflow with no commanders, and message suppression.
Fort Aspenwood
I’ve had 2 wins on main server and 3 on OF. Just a matter of paying attention, organizing, and enough people in each lane.
Fort Aspenwood
I consider myself a casual player. I play a couple of hours a night, and maybe more on weekends. I don’t have a high ranking, I don’t have a legendary, I’m not a PVE/PVP/WVW god. I joined TTS when they were organizing their second guild, and have enjoyed every minute of it. I have been on at least 60 Teq kills, which may sound like a lot, but in TTS it isn’t. We really do work at making our raids inclusive. We kill Teq on main servers every night. We usually do the fight on servers that have not had a lot of success against Teq, and invite locals to help in the kill. We try new things occasionally and if it works, we incorporate that into our strategy. I enjoy the community of TTS. I have in game friends from Devonas Rest, Sea of Sorrows, Crystal Desert, and many other servers. We are part of a community that bands together to kill big bosses. I plan on trying to take part in the overflow worm fight tonight. Maybe we will get the kill, maybe not, but I will enjoy the time spent fighting alongside my friends from TTS. I normally play casually, lone-wolf style PVE, but I enjoy my nightly raid with a large tight-knit community that is working to improve the gaming experience for all involved. Soren, Kenage, Ahlou, Yroul, Wonderland, you guys rock!
Fort Aspenwood
Teq is one of the few events that requires fairly precise teamwork and coordination. The fight is very doable on most servers if someone is willing to take charge. The spawn times are set, 2 minutes after every odd hour server-time. A winning fight can be organised within a half hour of spawn time. A successful run will fill your bags with loot, including at least 3 rares. There are a lot of good guides on how to fight him.
I have lost count of how many successful Teq fights I have been on. It’s not super hard, but it is also not a “run to his foot, mash #1” fight either. I like the fact that there is at least one boss in the game that requires careful work and coordination to defeat.
I have an idea, tonight, around 6 pm server time, go to LA and map announce “Teq fight, meet at sparkfly by 6:30,” when people show up put them into position. He spawns at 7:02 pm. If you positioned people well, the fight will be over by 7:25 pm.
I have been in on 20 Karka queen runs in the past 3 weeks, she’s tough and does a lot of damage, but there is no skill or coordination. There are many other bosses that give decent drops with out a player having to work for it, let us Teq fighters keep our one fun boss.
Fort Aspenwood
Wow, so much venom. You’re supposed to play the game how YOU want to, and not how others want. Congrats to you Wonder for doing something just for the sake of doing so.

I have tried searching this forum for an answer. How do I get a soldiers inscription for making soldier stat weapons?
Fort Aspenwood
Just killed him, got 3 rares from orange dragon chest. I got so much loot I ran out of bag space. Still mostly greens and blues, but 3 rares is a nice bonus from one chest.

Yesterdays results: 650 bags, 3 doubloons. Leveled a new character to 21 yesterday, silver doubloon at her first JP.

So, the only way to get dark matter is through exotics, and you may not always get dark matter, so you have to blow through gold on the off-chance that they will give you dark matter? I got 2 exotics today, I used a BL kit to salvage them. I got one ancient log, 2 elder logs, and 2 sigils. No ecto, no dark matter. Really? A-net actually thought of a way to separate more fools from their money. I had stopped salvaging exotics a long time ago because I never got more than 2 ectos and figured it wasn’t worth the potential gold lost for so little gain. The new ascended crafting has now forced me to start salvaging exotics, and guess what? It still ripping me off. Forcing us to salvage exotics in order to make ascended weapons and then only occasionally giving the mats from the salvage is a jerk move. I’m not one of those players with thousands in gold who can afford to salvage exotics for a freaking log!
And those who say that we are not forced to have ascended, really haven’t been paying attention. Within the next couple of months, that will be a necessity in order to get on a dungeon team. If you don’t show up with a Zerker ascended weapon you will get kicked off the team.

Thank yo for the info. I didn’t know that.

I just used a karma bonus and a booster banner and clicked through 5 jugs before I realized that there was no boost effect from the karma bonus, 75 gems and 5 jugs wasted. Are we supposed to submit a bug ticket for this?

My engineer: Kryta Jerkin, Tier 2 leggings, duelist boots, HOM Fire God gloves. Head and shoulders are always hidden, colors used are Midnight purple, dark chocolate, and silver.

4 norn, 3 human. I like the looks of the norn best. I have tried all the other races, but I keep coming back to norn. I have 3 level 80 norn, 1 level 80 human. My other 2 humans are level 2.
Fort Aspenwood
My warrior uses temple/karma boots, leggings, and chest, gladiator shoulders, vigil helm, and HOM firegod gloves. The colors are midnight ice, mithril, and cornsilk.
Fort Aspenwood
My ranger uses rascal chest and shoulders, pirate boots and hat, and heritage pants and gloves. The colors are ruby, heirloom, royal purple and cornsilk. The hat is midnight rust.

My lvl 80 warrior has been wearing barbaric armor since he was lvl 2. I wanted the look of the Norn warrior on the creation screen, so I bought the cheapest barbaric armor on the TP and transmuted all the way to level 80. He’s now wearing exotic lvl 80 armor that looks exactly like it did when he was lvl 2. I also bought the Dolyak (tier 1) helm when he was lvl 2 and transmuted. When you find what you like, use the stones.

Same problem, connection error retrying

Back when the centaurs used to drop those little bags I kept a character there till he reached level 3. Incredibly boring.

How do you determine if it a splendid chest or great chest or something like that? I did the eye in zho qofa catacombs tonight, and the chest was a big one, but I don’t know how to determine if it is a splendid, or great or glorious chest. Oh, and the chest dropped 3 greens and a blue.
Fort Aspenwood
I have been trying to work my way through the Zho’Qafa catacombs. As usual, Orr is a giant empty sewer, where you fight your way through trash mobs for no gain. I hate Orr. Does any else on Fort Aspenwood go down there? Am I gonna have to find a different server? I’m pretty sure it doesn’t drop at shelt/pen, but that is the only place in Orr that has other players. I think this is probably the best idea based on how empty it always is in the catacombs.
Fort Aspenwood
1 an hour is actually a pretty good rate. I used to get that in frostgorge with corrupted, now I may get 1 a week (1.5 hours per day of farming).
Fort Aspenwood
I am finally starting to enjoy Orr. Better drops, not dying from constant pulls every 5 minutes. I don’t mind farming there anymore.
Fort Aspenwood
I like the new stuff. I have decided I want one now.

I have just recently leveled a guardian to 80, after spending the first 4 months playing a warrior. I am impressed with the versatility of the profession. She doesn’t hit as hard as my warrior, and doesn’t have near as much HP, but she rocks in groups. I was experimenting in a Claw of Jormag fight with timing her anti-stun buffs. It was cool to stand still and keep fighting while everyone else (but the people in my circle) was running in fear. I like the way she can throw out heals and support buffs while still holding her own in a fight. I’ve tried several builds that I’ve read about. Now I’m trying out new things to see what she can do. I like the way purity and altruistic healing works, so I’m keeping those two, but this is such a versatile character. I mostly play PVE so I’m working on building up my guardian so that she can survive in all those places where you always seem to be the only person on the map. If any one has any suggestions on a good build that can fight alone (like 3/4 of the maps in the game are) I would appreciate the help. She has the exotic sword “Kryhsaor”, and the hammer “the Punisher” so I prefer builds that concentrate on hammers and GS. Thank you for suggestions.
