Whoa, every single guardian in this thread is a freaking kitten.
Can’t you see the pattern?
Thieves and warriors, aka guardian’s breakfeast, are getting buffs.
All the other classes are getting some nerfs to their survability.
Imagine the state of the actual DH if ANet doesn’t nerf the burst a lil’ bit? It’s gonna dominate everything.
You guys don’t give a kitten about the big picture. You are comparing an imaginary nerfed guardian to the present meta.
On the PvE matter, it WILL hurt the class. But then again, who cares about PvE?
Can’t log on my toons as most people here. Network error thingy…

If revenant is given access to more condition removals/stun breaks then yes I agree go ahead and tone the rev vs power builds but currently any amount of conditions or stuns will wreck a rev. If you take away any viability against power builds as well what do you have?
Please, do this and you’ll know what i am talking about.

You can then hate the way it is atm like me.
Addressing the Shiro/Glint power spec.
Rev against conditions:
Perfectly fine. The lack of condition removal makes it challenging to avoid exposition to any condi. Your only backup is glint’s heal. The evades and the invulnerabilities can help too.
Rev against power:
Op.
Too many evades. Too many invulnerabilities. Too much damage at low risk. You can faceroll anyone. Just use unrelenting assault, block with your sword, evade and block with your staff, apply weakness with glint and turn all incoming damage into hp and you’ve got yourself a full rotation that can’t be countered. Oh yeah, and you get protection, fury and perma swiftness with that… a little bonus from the house… and stability on dodge…. oh yeah and I forgot that you can also stun break on both legends if you don’t feel like dodging.
Mobility in WvW is too high. Shiro can make you leap 2,400 units at a low cost.
Fix this. Right now, everybody is justifying revenant’s strenght by “it’s weak to conditions so it is a good trade off”. No, it is not. If you can beat all power specs, nothing is a good tradeoff.
I want perma stealth, no reveal and 1,200 range backstabs. Otherwise, I don’t feel like playing a real rogue. Anyone knows how? Thanks.
Wtf, everybody here sucks or what? I did this with my fresh air elementalist and died 2 times in total. I don’t want to be mean or offensive but guys, COME ON LOL. I didnt find it hard AT ALL. When you go PvE, it’s not all about bringing as many offensive utilities as possible. Depending on your class, you should have at LEAST one defensive capability…
Ya’ll have a good time.
Hey everyone,
Lately, I have been trying different types of builds in WvW and PvP. So far, 3 builds came out really effective. All those builds use full berserker armor with pack runes and sigils of air-fire. I’m open to all criticism.
0/6/2/3/3 – S/D gives you a huge amount of damage (+ 300 prec + 300 feroc and 10% damage when initiative is over 6) compared to the traditional 2/0/x/x/6 while still giving better you condi removal, insane pressure when opponent’s low and quickness right off the bat. You might think not having Mug, Sleight of hand and Boutiful theft makes it crap but trust me. The pressure is so high just from your autoattacks, it’s just impossible to keep up. The only disadvantage this build has is against d/p thieves. Basically, you can’t stop them from stealthing. Other than that, it makes it easier to beat d/d elementalists and bunkers in general because if you manage to get them under 50% health, you will hit so hard (2k on auto attacks), you’ll just drop them. I would like to add that you still have alot of initiative, 1 initiative regen per 5 sec (CS minor trait) and perma fury.
6/0/2/3/3 – P/D constant condi pressure although it’s a power build, with revealed training, excellent with P/D #3. Can work with S/D no problem. This builds shines in sPvP because it takes advantage of a longer revealed duration. Like the previous build, it doesn’t have SoH nor BT but you have an insane amount of power and it just synergizes so well with p/d its ridiculous. Even S/D works perfectly. No, you don’t have as much condi pressure but even immobilise is considered as a condi so you’ll trigger the minor trait pretty much all the time.
3/0/2/3/6 – S/D This is the most effective one. Basically, I went from the traditional 2/0/0/6/6 to 2/0/3/3/6 to finally 3/0/2/3/6 for more pressure. The biggest advantage over a full SA build is dodging non-stop. The biggest advantage over a full Acro build is condi removal. Yes, you lose 10% damage when endurance is not full, but you compensate with 50 more power and weakness on steal. Keep in mind that acrobatics trait line is kitten in terms of major traits so going full on it is completely a waste. Now you can faceroll condis (almost) while still having good pressure.
To summarize,
build #1 is for WvW players. You can take out anyone very fast with just your auto attack. Great sustain. No interrupts but your pressure will serve you good trust me.
build #2 is best for PvP because of the reveal time. You’re not even forced to use p/d. It’s the equivalent of #1 but for pvp.
build #3 is for any situation. Although it doesn’t offer as much pressure as build #1 and build #2, it has perma vigor (BT), compensates damage with dmg per initiative (trickery minor trait) and dazing.
Whatchu guys think?
To be honest, I first had hope. Now that 8 days have passed, I realise that we will not get our rewards. This doesn’t take 8 days to fix, trust me. Eternal Battlegrounds borderland is laggy as hell too. WvW is dead and since I only WvW and occasionally sPvP, I’m done with the game. sPvP isn’t enough to keep me playing. I am a natural player vs player gamer. I like the competition and the unpredictability of it. WvW merges the benefits of sPvP and the wide maps of a PvE-like game. Sadly, ANet focuses only on PvE. You quit on me ANet, I quit on you. You make promisses and then you let me down. Two times. GG.
I get in EBG, experience heavy skill delay then DC. 3 times today.
*Spoilers* MIND BLOWN right now! A++++ ANet

I just finished the finale and I gotta say that was pretty epic. As previously mentioned, not much of a challenge but the epicness was all over the place. It is really entertaining to watch a few hundred players coordinate their movements on that “drill-ship” and trying to figure out stuff.
The ending was amazing in my opinion. Looking forward to the next season. I personnally never liked the living story because I though it was completely pointless and boring but I gotta admit that this finale was “grandiose” and worth every minute spent on it. Kinda regretting that I didn’t participate in previous events.
The only thing that disappointed me is the skin that you get at the very end. Come on. That helmet is so ugly. Nobody is ever going to wear it.
Nevetheless, I have never felt so heroic as tonight.
ANet, “bravo”.
Hello there!
My virtual name is Jibreel and I want to share with the world my personal build. Though I’m not the first one to post one, I can in confidence assure you this is the best build and the most viable for ANY situation (WvV, PvE, sPvP mostly). I watched alot of youtube videos of mesmer gameplay, I read alot of threads on forums and I personally have alot of experience with mesmers. So far, I have seen and tested alot of builds. Most of them are really power/crit/crit damage oriented with shatters from time to time and a few actually are oriented for health or thoughness (in most cases, toughness). I analysed alot mesmer’s playstyle and came to a final build that will make mesmer players enjoy the best of both worlds (lol I always think of Hannah Montana when I say that, whatever). This is JIBREEL’S BUILD. Someone might already have posted a similar build to this one. If that’s the case, then let me know. Unless, I claim this as the fruit of my own genuis. Nahh, just kidding =)
Traits: 10/20/15/25/0
III/II/X/IV/IV/VIII
Weapons: Greatsword and sword-pistol or focus (up to the situation).
Armor: Berserker’s all the way (yeaah baby).
Utilities: Ether Feast (most mesmer’s healing skills are frankly bullkitten), Decoy, Blink and Mantra of resolve and finally mass invisibility.
Build explained:
With this build, with a full exotic armor at level 80, you will have around 19-20k hp.
First of all, the 10 points on domination are for the extra 15% phantasmal damage. Nothing else. For the 20 points on, dueling, you are here seeking for the phansmal fury, which is exactly like a bonus 20% critical chance right off the bat. Yes 20%. I know you do not directly benifit from 20% but since your phantasms are going to be your main damage source, that’s pretty much 20%. The other “signet” is actually to confuse your opponent. Creating a clone when you dodgne can really be frustrating for a thief. If you’re running away, that clone may save your life. Thank him! Unto chaos now, my favorite part. Not only do you gain some toughness, but you will be getting 3% damage reduced for each active illusion (99% of the time you will have 3 illusions) but you will also benifit from regen when you reach 75% of your health but that regen is gonna trigger protection too! If we sum everything up, that’s 42% damage reduced! DAHECK. Finally, for inspiration, we go here for 25 points for some extra health and 15% phantasmal damage (did I told you that you’ll be getting best of both world here?). The other traits are complementary. Removing a condition when you heal can help if you don’t wanna waste a power cleanse on something like a cripple and the focus reflection is a pain in the kitten for rangers… and I don’t like rangers. It might also save your life if you’re running away. For instance, if you drop a temporal curtain, not only will you gain swiftness, cripple your ennemies but if they try to kite ya, it’s right directed back at them. Take your arrows back rangers.
Tips ‘n tricks
Wheter your enemy is tanky or not, when engaging, use decoy, then, burst the cat out of ’em with this combo: GS: 2-3-4 then switch to sword-pistol: 4-5-3-3-2 + shatter everything.
I mentioned that you can use a pistol or a focus. Indeed, if you’re fighting a thief, focus is going to be a pain in the kitten to you. If you’re engagning on a class that is really fast, quick and swift like those kitten ed thieves, take your pistol. Like do not even think ’bout if. Take it out and shoot yourself… no! I mean the enemy lol.
When stomping, press F4. Yeah, just press F4.
TELL ME WHAT DO YOU THINK OF IT! (even though I don’t care because I’ve been playing with this build for like 4 months and I rarely get defeated)
