I play a thief but EVEN I know the warrior does way more damage output. Yeah thieves got heartseeker but it’s a waste until the player or mob gets half way down, then it’s dangerous than the other skills, but a warrior is pretty awesome BUT again, maybe your thief is more geared in power/precision/crit than your warrior is… With those 3 stats, any class can do a good job killing mobs.
I hope they do, but I hope they don’t base class balances off of duels.
Personally I don’t think any class is OP, the people who say it are probably getting killed by players that are way overly geared compared to them OR they just simply don’t know how to combat that type of class. It also comes down to how you use your traits, those people 1 shotting you are probably all power and precision and their gear as well….
Simply as the thread suggests at the top… That’s my question. Besides dueling a friend or random person I haven’t seen places where you could practice your skills.
I think dueling a friend would be nice because you could practice against a certain class, but yeah they have to also add the option to turn off dueling so if you want to be left alone and not be spammed by those invites.
Has Anet said anything about this subject yet?
Yes the DD could be improved but will they? I don’t think so and honestly thats not the problem really, if you are out in wvw, then the problem is the culling and render issues because the DD is fine for me since you could treb the bay from a garrison cliff which has a huge draw distance from back there.
Don’t feel bad I got insulted on the suggestions for making a thread titled “they should add rifting into the game”. I even made up newer ideas like have a disable button feature so those who just want to be left alone and pve cannot be hurt or damaged by a rifter and cannot hurt the rifter if they enable this button.
After getting so much negative feedback, I noticed just then how casual guild wars 2 people really are, then again most that commented probably haven’t played many other MMO’s.
No what the game truly needs to fix the healing situation or make it at least better is a better agro mechanic added for example, in the suggestions tab, I said they should put the name of the players name UNDER THE MOBS HP BAR, so in case of grenth, you could see who he is currently targeting right under his hp bar…..
This helps because then people could heal their allies with aoe heals and other heals if they see them low on health, and would also help keep grenth at the back THO YES I KNOW PEOPLE WILL STILL BE DUMB AND NOT NOTICE THEY GOT AGRO EVEN WITH THIS MECHANIC, but for the most part it would help the person who has agro to run at the back so jones dont get 1 shotted by aoe because grenth is to close.
Also I talked about grenth already so look somewhere on the events section.
But yeah implementing a new agro system would help because not many people read their combat chat or can tell they got agro by looking at the boss when their is so many mobs and other players around him…. this would also help in dungeons as well for those who have agro at that split second and would make the random people together perhaps play a little better as a team in a way…
okay sorry about that part with server vs server i see waht you mean now, but was kidna bad word order, that could be understood both ways.
Still doesnt change my stance though, roaming around picking targets in wvw is gonna do the exact same thing as if you could do it in pve maps, except there ppl accept they can be ganked if the run alone by being there, if you play in PvE maps you do it to PvE ONLY
You play in PVE maps, you do it for PVE only? That’s not true, WVW is actually PVPVE with PVE in it and like someone said at the top they don’t wanna pve in world vs world which means get attacked by animals or have to bust down a door if you wanna consider that.
And AGAIN, I told you, you can add the option to DISABLE RIFTING WHICH MEANS THE RIFTER CANNOT HURT OR KILL YOU AND YOU CANNOT DO THE SAME TO THEM.
There have been other games that done rifting, not just rift… But Aion also and many more, I think the problem is GW 2 is more of a casual MMO game than anything.
Heck, they only just so recently added fast track in aion so you don’t have to get rifted on until your 55, but again I said WHAT IF YOU COULD USE A DISABLE BUTTON?
So in other words, you see the rifter, owell, they can’t hurt you but maybe your friends if they don’t want the disable rifting button on… YOU HAVE TO AT LEAST ADMIT, IT WOULD BE INTERESTING… Heck EVEN ADD QUESTS RIFTERS CAN DO AND QUESTS PLAYERS CAN DO FOR KILLING RIFTERS.
Rifting would make GW 2 a little more fun for me, and not just me but allot probably. You don’t have to agree but that’s fine with me, it’s just a suggestion, and IF THEY DO PUT IT IN THE GAME, well hopefully they make a disable rifting button for you.

and waht if you are not intresting in PvP but only have time to come online at the time when rifting is enabled due to work/school/timezone etc?
And how can you say wvw is NOT server vs server? wvw is 3 servers piatched against eachother for control of the wvw maps, so that is indeed server vs server.
Beside i geuss you took your rifting concept from the mmo called rift, where rifting is in fact NOT server versus server but rather faction vs faction, which means wvw in its essence is more server vs server than rifting orginally is…
You didn’t read it correctly then. I said WVW IS SERVER VS SERVER.
First thing I said was, WVW IS NOT RIFTING, there is a difference because rifting isn’t a server vs server, thats you invading a server as the only player, and server vs server is wvw.
As for you only beign able to login at times rifting is enabled, WHAT ABOUT THEY PUT A OPTION IN YOUR MENU TO DISABLE RIFTING so you cannot be harmed by the rifter. or do harm to them.. So maybe it makes you immortal to rifters… Like i said, you can add ideas.

the game need to be built around having fun not grind. this way people wouldnt feel this way anymore.
the game started out with grind in mind. from the time of player’s first character, the player is made to grind levels, and grind other things after that.
it poor game design really.
Grind You say? Just like the other person said, it’s a state of mind… But, name me an MMO please that didn’t have leveling involved or working to get the best gear when you don’t have to work to get the easy gear?
On GW 2 I got 80 within a week, and other MMO’s it took forever to reach max level.. So if anything GW 2 is by far least grindy than most MMO’s but that’s my opinion. I soloed myself through the story until the last mission…. The gear? not hard to get, just do events and sell the junk.
No.
- Regular PvE players are forced into PvP
- There is a server vs server system already, it’s callen WvW
WVW IS NOT RIFTING, there is a difference and it isn’t server vs server, thats WVW. Secondly players are forced into PVP? No, only if it happens when they come across a rifter, and THERE would be time zones so you know rifting has started and ended.
im not sure if they said they wont ever do it but anyhow…
should I ask, WOULD it be a good idea to implement some form of rifting where other server players can invade a world of another server at a certain time and PVP against who they want to fight?
Now this would be very tricky mind you because the worlds got level zones restrictions, do you won’t have an level 80 come to one of the lower level places, instead it would most likely be at Orr if anything for 80’s.
Now for them to do this although it’s easier said than done, what they would probably have to do is make a certain time of day lets say 1pm to 3pm to rift and after 3pm, they are returned to lions arch into their server if they are invading a place. Not only that but they would have to drop or gain levels of whichever zone they are entering.
I’d say it could be very fun and for me wouldn’t make roaming around be as dull well for me that is, and YES I do have fun helping in events tho I do it mostly for the karma and drops to gear up and stuff but I’d say this could be awesome, and don’t give me that “it’s guild wars” or something like that.
Only thing tho, is I am undecided about the rifting times and if it should be a daily thing once a day at a certain time, or just once a week THO I’D PREFER TO RIFT EVERYDAY. I think sometime at night after 12am or 1am would be a good time in est/eastern time because then lots of people could be waking up over seas and could login before they go to work if they got work in the morning, but again if its everyday then they could just have weekends free to do it but i’d say the early morning is good. Maybe do 2 different times a day and both rifting events LAST 2 HRS AND IF YOU ARE STILL RIFTING YOU ARE RETURNED HOME TO YOUR SERVER.
I also think this could be a new way to gain badges of honor or new rewards maybe some day. OH AND ANOTHER REASON WHY IT COULD BE GOOD IT COULD GIVE PEOPLE ON A DEAD SERVER THAT PVP another option for pvp.
EDITED
Feel free to add ideas to this if you want… It doesn’t exactly have to be in this form, maybe the person rifting shows up on the map like an outlaw if they invade another world server or something,.
And to answer some questions, someone asked what if you could only be on GW 2 during the time rifting is enabled and you don’t want to PVP? Simple, they could design a disable rifting option to the world menu, and when you choose this, maybe the rifter cannot do no damage to you, and you cannot do not damage to them. Maybe you both could be shiny colors to let each other know that the person has disabled rifting so they don’t waste their time looking for someone to rift on.
Someone said PVE Players are forced to pvp? I said No, only if they encounter a rifter which is true, and then thats the only time they are forced but even then they don’t have to fight back but again you could disable rifting if you don’t want to pvp so my answer works for the guys statment below this.
Server vs server is WVW, but WVW is completely different from rifting because it’s not a server vs server thing.. It’s someone invading your server to fight players. The on;y thing that is similar between rifting and wvw is that it’s 2 players from two different servers, but when I think of server vs server, I think of more than just 2 people, I think of a huge battle and yeah rifting can get big, I know that but again it’s different.

People need to realize that you can expect one game to be your primary source of entertainment. If you’re putting in six hours a day or more, then yes, there’s not going to be enough to do. Ever.
Exactly, that’s the problem with lots of MMO gamers compared to other gamers and that’s a fact but yeah there are gamers that would try to make one game their life also.
I myself play many many different games, the best thing is GW 2 IS NOT PAY TO PLAY SO if you get bored, then just take a break and play another game or come back whenever you feel like it.
Not sure if my last topic got posted but anyhow, I would like to see an update on the agro mechanic in the game and I want to give a example I talked about earlier in a different thread regarding the temple of grenth in orr.
Lots of times Jones has died because some person not knowing they had agro went to close to the stairs that caused AOE’s to hit Jones and YES I KNOW PEOPLE, EVEN IF THEY IMPLEMENT WHAT I AM ABOUT TO SUGGEST, SOMEONE WILL STILL NOT PAY ATTENTION AND CAUSE JONES TO DIE.
Anyhow, my suggestion is to add whoever has agros name under the mobs HP bar similar to like how most other MMO’s do. This would ease some confusion and not only help at grenth, but help in dungeons and make it more team play because then players would know who has agro at that moment and could drop a AOE heal on them or heal them.
As far as i know, the only way to tell you got agro of the boss is by either reading your combat log in which allot of people don’t, or by paying close attention because grenth or the mob would look at you and attack you, or sometimes run towards you but of course agro may not last as long like it does in other MMO’s but still this would really help if you guys could later implement this..
I never really read into GW 2 before it came out until a month before but I will say that it sounds like everyone just kinda accepted it but what really interested me is that you said “but the reality is, once anet does that said feature their way, lots of voices against the idea usually shut up about it” and there you are wrong because take WVW for example, they took out the orb because they realized the feature didn’t work out so well…..
There is plenty of other examples but that’s just one.
NOW if you are actually talking about before the game was launched then yeah they didn’t mention WVW to much and not many people complained but still, so far Anet has changed a few things due to players.well I said features, not mechanics. the orbs in WvW was a mechanic of WvW.
OK still there is features that have been changed due to players tho I probably can’t list what would in your eyes be a feature, I can say what about mini pets? Didn’t GW 2 say they wouldn’t put those in the game but yet they did? NOW I COULD BE WRONG ON THAT but I’m not sure, so maybe someone else can confirm that….
Ok Now this I heard from someone, I heard that GW devs said they wouldn’t feature mounts in the game, but what do you know? There is a broom you can ride….. Again I’m not sure if this is true, but I actually heard this…. The first paragraph is more based on something I thought they said, and this paragraph is based on something I heard from someone and if its true, then there is the examples. BUT LIKE I SAID, THERE PROBABLY HAS BEEN FEATURES THAT HAS BEEN CHANGED, right now I can’t think of them.

I soloed all of the story on my thief but the last mission which took hours with a group of 3 other guys with me lol.. would have helped if we had another person.
If you undercut by 50g, he can’t buy you out since he’ll lose more than he can potentially make.
Losing even 100 gold doesn’t matter. Precursors are not the main source of income for them, it’s just a hobby.
As such, the price is dictated by the market which is the collective of both buyers and sellers.
Unless there’s a third party, that buys from sellers for low and then sells again for high. In the same TP. So you can’t justify that by “transportation fees”. And there’ll always be a demand for precursors, cause TP is the only way around the RNG.
You can influence the price by not buying it.
Now that’s really naive.
If your precursor is too expensive .. don’t buy it. You have a choice you know…
You see, precursors are just the tip of the greater picture.
I actually don’t care about legendaries at all. I have more than enough gold to buy me consumables and the only things I want are not achieved with money.
But.
In some time this game will be really uncomfortable for new players, at the rate we’re going. Most current players have some steady income and some gold to keep up with the economy.
New players would not have such a luxury. Imagine trying to level crafting with 2x costs. Only to find that there’s no profitable recipes without the gathering grind. But you can continue to live in a dream world where prices are magically lowered just because you don’t buy anything.
I wanna hold you
Well I wanna comment on your post, I think you went wrong saying new players won’t have the luxury of getting things later on in time, but really it’s not that hard to karma farm in Orr, nor make gold by doing those events and selling the drops and I think GW 2 is going to stay that way and make it easy for people to obtain gold, not to mention being able to buy it.
However tho what I said is true that it won’t be hard YOU are also right because I can understand, like me and you, right now can get the exotic weapons, the trinkets and what not pretty cheap you could say or reasonable to me at least. And you are right because in months from now, since that me and you have bought the gear, the trinkets, the upgrades and all that good stuff, we would have allot saved up opposed to a new player coming in when the prices may go up or down tho I personally can’t see them going up really that much BUT you gotta understand that this is what happens in all MMO’s… The older players will always have the headstart in the market, that’s just how it works.
(edited by scoobymode.1942)
I disagree also, the game does not need new skills however 1 extra utility bar would be nice but that’s it, and this is why each class can use different types or weapons and weapon combos which in all “almost” if not equals the same number that roughly other mmo class skills have.
I love my thief because I D/D and I often switch to my P/P to do some ranged attacks and they got their skills and vice versa and plus i could go sword/dagger or pistol/dagger as well and don’t forget about the underwater skills.
I think Guild Wars 2 just simplifies using skills pretty much so you don’t got a horrible UI look with buttons everywhere and this is something I really love about Guild Wars 2 HOWEVER I do feel that some classes mainly focus on using one skill but my thief, when I go D/D I usually go skill 1, and end up using heart seeker when they are half way, and if there is a bunch of mobs? No problem I use skill 3 which is a nice AOE bleed, and when I want to annoy zergs? I stealth in and out using my 5th skill cloak and dagger, and it’s a good way to slowly destroy siege weapons if they don’t think to AOE you down. I sometimes use the 4th skill throwing the dagger to cripple but not often but when I go pistol/pistol I typically only use skill 3 the most and that’s it and I noticed some classes use one skill the most or auto attack. With my engineer I could just switch between my gadgets and what not but the thief is my favorite class by far.
Also don’t forget the the trait line, I’d even call that skills really, well some of them at least, and I don’t need to give examples.

So, after doing the new grenth in Orr over and over which isn’t to hard really, and if you really want my thoughts on it, I am going to copy and paste them from another thread I left a comment on but where I am getting at is that I notice so many people cannot tell that they got agro of the mob attacking them in a event like this where there is lots going on.
I would like to see a better helpful agro mechanic like other MMOs have for example below the bosses HP bar, put the name of the person he is currently locked onto and I doubt many people read their combat logs also. I would like for GW 2 to implement that some day, and it could be useful for dungeons also because you could drop aoe heals or heal the ally being attacked by the mob.
Personally? I don’t have a problem myself telling if I got agro in big events or if there happens to be lots of mobs around me but it would be nice to see what the mob is currently locked onto and BY all means if this is already in the game I haven’t found it yet because what I go by is the mob such as grenth in this case shooting at me and looking at me.
How do you feel about the agro mechanics in big events like this and oh for people who are having a hard time with grenth here is my comment about why that temple is so hard.
"
I’m going to chime in here and comment tho what I might say might have already been said, I am going to say what I think.
First off, it’s not a hard event, what makes it so hard is the fact that you are grouping with random people and have not thought out a plan like make some people be the shade killers, others on grenth.
The biggest problem is that whoever has agro is usually close by the stairs, and Jones always gets one shotted because of it. Now I will say there is tricks to being successful in actually avoiding the instant death, for example having exotic armor, maybe put traits in falling damage if you got it.
Everyone but the shade killers need to be at the far back or at least in the middle, the best way to dodge the rings of death and vortexes is to have your camera turned on the side and when you see a ring appear, just move or roll up…. It’s best to use ranged attacks in this event anyways than up close attacks until grenth is about to die.
The shades cannot really kill Jones but they can kill you in 1 hit and can become annoying, so have some people agree to be the shade killers before it starts.
Only thing I want changed about the event is the loot at the end, it should give better loot than just greens.".
I really would love the Incinerator dagger for my thief but in all honesty my exotic daggers are better because they offer what I need which is the power, precision and the crit damage. Plus, I could actually add extra of those stats on the upgrade slots…. But I do like that AOE fire damage bonus tho on that legendary weapon, to bad I’ll probably never get one, but I can live without it.
So, what I am saying is you could make a better weapon than buying the high price weapon and I can give a weird analogy like buying a alienware is just for the name or the brand when you could really make a better computer yourself….. But i don’t even think there is a need to say but then again reading some comments, maybe it needs to be said.
I think when it comes to games and the best of what they offer, it’s kinda like in real sometimes, you simply want the best quality and sometimes its to much and you just want what you can’t have and would be better off getting something else and twinking it out.
Actually, a ton of people left Aion back then because they were forced to PvP and couldn’t level through PVe, which is why it was later changed, at least somewhat. And PvP content is not PvE content, they’re different animals.
Now I know people who live, eat and breath WvW, and still have fun doing it, but I’ll never be one of those people. I enjoy it every now and again. And I know people who want to SPvP, but there’s not observer mode, no rankings, nothing for the competitive people.
And look at that, six months after launch, they’ll be doing a major WvW upgrade and a major upgrade to SPvP, starting in February.
Aion didn’t have a ton of stuff to do. The grind was so bad that it just took longer to get through the stuff that was there. But there was actually way less content.
Unless you consider killing the same boss over and over again 1000 times content, until you leveled high enough to get to the next area.
Ok fair points but I just wanted to point out that Aion is a MMO that could take you months to accomplish everything regardless if it has less content which it does.
Back then even the level 50 armor could take you months to get and I am talking about the Mira set, forget what it’s called on the asmo side.
Oh and are you Vayne the mod on another guild wars 2 site I read daily? Hi.
I’m going to chime in here and comment tho what I might say might have already been said, I am going to say what I think.

I can’t think any ANY MMO that was out for six months and didn’t have this problem. Not one.
I can’t think of any MMO that charged a monthly fee even that didn’t have this problem. Six month into Rift, I was ready to gnaw my own arm off. Six months into Aion and you’d better PvP, because there weren’t enough quests.
The ONLY except would be sandbox MMOs where people make their own content. In a themepark MMO, every game released too early, every game needs a zillion bug fixes, every game has to balance stuff out, and that happens about six months after release, if you’re lucky.
Only then will more content be on the plate.
You should be happy there’s no monthly fee to this game, and you haven’t been paying for it for six months.
Can’t think of one MMO that hasn’t had this problem? Then obviously you haven’t played enough MMO’s.
When Aion came out, it took months and months to do everything in the game compared to what it takes in GW 2. Aion was allot harder also and way more grindy back then than it is now…. But still, I do agree that most MMO’s do in fact get rushed through and many people feel like they done it all within a few months, but not all MMO’s are easy to go through and get the best gear, best weapon, complete all quests, and what not… Aion, the worst RNG game made.
No offense OP but you don’t know if the patch is that great at the moment, you literally have just downloaded it and stuff and right away you come and say it’s great?
However, the guesting is cool because on my server HOD is dead in terms of world pve, and I cannot get the karma armor at orr because no one does the event, so now I can guest to a more popular server and get that armor, and I am glad to see they didn’t really nerf any classes that much.

Me annoying people with my Thief that has 30 points in Shadow arts, but don’t even think you need those points to be there for what I did which was just simply press the number 5 skills which I think is called cloak and dagger. Anyhow you want to put points in shadow arts because its a good trait line to gain initiatives faster.
You want to use skills like cloak and dagger, blind powder if that’s what it’s called in which thieves actually got several stealth skills if you check.
Anyhow if you did watch the video, after a few mins of annoying the people on the siege, I got them all to bring the zerg after me and try to kill me.
Well anytime I am outnumbered by way more I teleport back to spawn.
Of course I’ll warn everyone in chat on what is being attacked and how many are attacking it… If there is siege there, then instead of teleporting, I’ll hop on the siege and use it and hope help arrives and if it don’t, then I’ll teleport out.

More Character Creation Options And To Be Able To Change Appearance Later On
in Suggestions
Posted by: scoobymode.1942
I am not sure if this has been suggested already, but I would like to see more character creation options, and to be able to change my appearance of my character later on without having to make a new character.
More skin color options… Would love to have a bright red Asura, so I can look like knuckles from sonic the hedgehog lol.
More hairstyle options, and just allot of other things. I am sure Anet has this planned for a future update, but IN CASE NOT, then here is my thread on it, and hopefully it gets looked into at some point and considered.
I don’t do the jumping puzzles, so I am ok. If you’re going to do jumping puzzles bring a friend or two, and go at a time where people might not be online.
Better question…… Who is the best commander that HASN’T SWITCHED OFF YOUR SERVER YET?
HOD is going to drop down to tier 2 and be green if they get last place. Points and rankings do not matter what so ever or else HOD would have been green this match, but it is blue because it finished 2nd place the match before and if it had finished last then would have dropped to tier 2 this current match.
Going up and down tiers are about who wins and loses.
If you finish 2nd, then you will be in the same tier and stay blue, if you finish first then you move up a tier, or if you are the top tier, you stay green.
If you finish last you go down a tier and end up green……
Funny how people are still thinking points matter in how the match ups are.
Before HOD lost last match some people on our server said we would be green again if we didn’t get first, but we were blue because we got 2nd. If we had got last then of course we would be down a tier…
Hopefully people understand this now.
Points matter only for rankings, not for placing you in matches.
Looking at this site, it’s clear to me that there isn’t a single close matchup this week. It’s obvious who the winner is in every single matchup, and has been since Saturday.
My server, Maguuma, has gone about a month without a close matchup at all. We are either dominating, or being dominated, and in my opinion, the orbs are a big part of that. Why is it that the server that is strong enough to hold all 3 orbs rewarded with more strength? The outmanned buff is worthless, as well, and doesn’t encourage anyone.
I’m willing to bet that not a single server is having fun right now in WvW, and that’s really unfortunate. The winning servers have nothing to do, and the losing servers just get spawn camped.
In my opinion, there are a few issues. Free server transfer is probably one of the biggest. Sea of Sorrows, just last week, was a server that Maguuma could have competed against, but now they’re worlds above our level. It’s made the matchmaking system mean nothing, because people just transfer. Henge of Denravi seems to have lost the vast majority of their guilds in a week, and now they’re dropping, so they have 3-4 weeks of beatdowns to look forward to.
The matchmaking system in general is flawed, too, because it doesn’t seem to take into account the points won each week, just the win or loss. So the close matchups get screwed up by the winners moving too high up, and the no question matchups don’t get pushed up enough.
I would love to see the orbs removed, or switched with the outmanned bonus.
Thoughts?
I am from HOD and can’t wait til we drop down to tier 4 or worse since that’s where we belong. But whatever happens, I will not transfer off this server and am going to stay on it.
My thoughts are this…. You are just going to have to wait it out like we will because at the moment, Anet is not going to stop the transfers, and won’t manually pick the next matches, and so we got weeks of agony to endure which I won’t be on… I will be back on Aion until we drop down to where we belong.
The major thing’s that need to stop is the week matches and go back to 24 hour matches to 3 days max, and the transfers but other than that.. Just wait it out… I am sure Kaineng will beat us but hopefully we get some actually good people over to HOD and some good guilds come over tho I doubt anyone wants to be on a losing server and low populated server and that has been proven with Kaineng(forgive me if I spelled their server name wrong).
In all seriousness besides wanting new maps as I said on the 4th post…. What needs to be fixed is how people que and get in before others… They may have fixed it like they said they would, I don’t know yet, but if I que before you, then I should before to get in before you.
I agree with Cygni, they should change the AFK timer and make it shorter tho it can be a exploit when someone puts a book on his keyboard to keep them there.
eliminating bots which is very hard would clear space.
You might as well transfer to a lower populated server.
If they allowed more people in, then lower populated servers would certainly be done for.
What they need to do is make new WVW maps which in time, they will so more can enter a map, HOWEVER I suggest those maps not count towards the actual score of the match and just be there for fun.
I am talking about new maps like a map where 4 servers compete and capture points from keeps and towers and camps on a huge pirate island using ships or swimming.
Heck make a map where all the servers battle each other with like idk 20 on each team…. But yeah.
Agreed, 2 week servers will kill WVW completely, and you’re not in the right mind if you don’t agree.
Before the week matches, I was even dreading what would happen, and even with server transfers costing, it would still just kill wvw.
WVW needs to go back to 24 hour matches, or it should be 3 days like the OP said… Something short so it can stay fresh, and keep people in wvw because after 3 days, they usually give up if they are on the losing team, and if IT WERE 24 HOUR MATCHES, it would push them all to try to win that match and keep them there, and if they lose? So what, a new match starts and you can try hard again instead of having to wait a week before a new match starts, or 2 weeks if this crazy idea is implemented.
I am from HOD, and at the moment will have to wait about 3 weeks, maybe even 4 before I consider going into wvw because lets face it.. We don’t belong in tier 1, or even tier 2 in my opinion and 3 might be cutting it… But I feel we are a tier 4 server now, and we will see, but yeah gotta wait.
Sure you explained some reasons as to what makes it unbalanced BUT IT IS NOT THE REASON WHY it is unbalanced and the reason is….. Free transfers and this will continue to unbalance things as long as they are up.
I am sure about 85% of the people on the forums and in wvw will say that it’s because of free transfers too, but what the heck? I am just stating my thought on what is making wvw unbalanced too just like everyone else… They have ignored all wvw threads besides locking one or two…
I play on HOD, and will always play on it until I quit playing GW 2 which might be soon, since I am bored with it, but yeah HOD is a ghost town and I’d say even the worst server in the rankings might give us a run and beat us.
However, you said they might be in tier 1 next week? False… Not a chance… If a server finishes last place, then they drop down a tier and become green… If they finish second in their match, then they stay as the blue(usually) and the servers that win a match get bumped up a tier and become red(unless you are in tier 1, then there is nowhere to be bumped up to, you’ll just stay green).
If HOD finishes last(which it will) we will be down to tier 2 as green this friday.
If we finish last in that(probably will) we will go down to tier 3, and I expect us to be a tier 4 team when it’s all set and done but I can’t say for sure because people might come to HOD within those 4 weeks, so we could improve some, so my guess is tier 4, or even worst…… I was in world doing personal story, and to my surprise, there were tons of people in the level 80 map I was in, so yeah there are some that haven’t even touched wvw yet.
Personally I wished they could manually pick us a tier, but they would probably do a poor job of it, but I do agree, the server changes is screwing up the match making, but thing is, the way this is set up is working as it should because they will adjust to the right tier over time.
From HOD here, and plan on staying there. Yes HOD will drop down a few tiers to the right spot, and when I say a"few tiers" I am talking around tier 4 or worse, UNLESS we can get people to transfer to HOD soon.
As for the guy blaming the random zergs causing HOD to lose… At this point, I’d be thankful to get any of them so we can actually do something even if it’s a small fraction to what we used to do.
HOD started getting horrible and becoming less organized soon as the week matches started and I will go as far to say even a week before that. Yes, JQ is the NEW HOD… They got the band wagon on them now, and will eventually one day crumble just as HOD when people get bored of GW 2 and quit, or lose interest of WVW, as any server in the top will lose eventually.
I say bring back the 24 hour matches, stop transfers, but I can’t wait til we drop down a few tiers so we can have a chance, but it was fun in tier 1 while it lasted.
I hate seeing them nerf the Thief with every patch also… I mean seriously, a Thief is supposed to be able to kill you within seconds, and supposed to be the most deadly class there is with their disadvantage being their armor/low health.
Honestly, just nerf the warrior now LMAO, the warrior does way to much damage with heavy armor (capable of taking lots of damage) a thief cannot take because of their armor/who they are.
I mean if a Thief had heavy armor, then OK, maybe the nerf is somewhat acceptable and yeah I know, thieves are all about mobility, and what not.. I am just just saying, they ARE MEANT TO BE DEADLY since they aren’t tanks, and they usually close the gap and fight in their foes faces.
Sad tho the Thief got nerfed, and even every other class… To bad tho, people will complain about everything instead of learning to counter a class or play their class correctly….
