I’m not fond of the Charr (I never felt engaged by their story and at this point I only have 3 Charr out of 27 characters)

I remember another MMO (TERA ) “released” some names of characters belonging to of inactive and banned players a few years ago and since I wasn’t active on that game i logged in to find 3 of my characters had a number put at the end of their name.

I don’t know if GW2 should do this or not because I have mixed feelings about it. But it would help the nice names which people want come back into circulation because some people quit and took the good names with them.

But as an alt-a-holic I’ve rarely run into having trouble with character naming. I used a name dictionary or since I’m an ingame cosplayer and used the name of the character I want and add an appropriate last name. (Eg. I have a character based on Braum from LoL so I named him Braum Hreindyr (which is an Icelandic word for “Reindeer”))

I’ve learned to get creative with my spellings of names to make them work. Eg. Ariadne became Ahriadnae, Wisteria became Wistirya , Asnath became Ashenathe (and I’ve actually grown fond of the spelling)

As a fellow alt-a-holic I approve of the cap being raised even though I’m probably going to never reach it. (My guildies and especially my husband have capped me at 27 characters until I can prove I can get map completion on all of them and I’m keeping my word)

I’m an ingame cosplayer so getting ideas all the time is killing me.

I have 27 characters (3 of each profession) and I still want more. Only 1 isn’t level 80.

To make things fair to my characters I cycle them and log into the last character in my list for dailies, if I log in early enough they get taken to Tequatl . After that I do my dailies on that character or pick someone that can do my dailies easier.

My guildies have tasked me with mapping on all my characters before I can make more and I’m keeping my word.

Each of my characters run something different, some are sandboxes that are waiting for a build idea. I like different play styles. My thieves show the most variation: condi, DPS and a weird clerics support one that I’m still workshopping.

Others are cosplay characters (I’m an ingame cosplayer) which I try to embody that character they’re based on in everything they do (and if you’re on NA you might have seen me running around in LA or DReach on these cosplayers because I try to see if anyone recognizes the cosplay and I go totally into character if they do)

There are practical reasons for many characters, I have a friend that has 18 Mesmers and she keeps them stationed at different jumping puzzles for dailies.

I love all of my characters because they make me happy? and I’ve grown attached to all of them.

I have 3 Engineers
1. Asura
2. Sylvari
3. Human

All of which were chosen for their aesthetic quality and how well they wear medium armor.

I’m very fond of both swords and having both in one suits me just fine

Predator is the one I’m working on right now (very casually)
I personally just like the Hunter as a rifle and when I get it, I’d settle for just having it. But why get a precursor and go halfway when you can go for the legendary

What about another heavy armor class? We only have 2 and every other armor class has three.

• if the defense party is too small => No champ
• the larger the party gets, the higher the odds of getting a champ

I don’t really remember Old Tequatl runs, they were simple and not very involved as they are now

But I believe that spawns off adds in any event no matter its size are controlled by the circle of the event itself. Nothing has changed about that since the game was launched.

Yes, it’s event scaling, which means it takes into account everyone involved in the event area, what ever that may be, as to why they spawn in random numbers in different locations, that could be something specifically created for Teq(if you want to check, just do a search on the Wiki for ‘scaling’ and find the ones related to just events and the specific one for when Teq Rising was released, which introduced the reworked Teq event that is still going on today).

I’m pretty sure that Champs only start spawning at 10+ people. If there’s Champs spawning prior to that, there must be other players nearby that are contributing to the mob generator, such as players resurrecting at the WP and then running back.

Note the defiant stacks however..
1 or 2 people running by would NOT cause that many stacks on a champion.

There’s clearly some element of RNG involved, but it’ll take more data to figure out the pattern with confidence.

I’ve found that there is no rhyme or reason to the champions that spawn and I’ve been doing two tequatl runs a night everyday always at north or south boats.

If you note the defiant stacks on any champions that do spawn, they are astronomical and its not possible for only 5 people or more in such a small area to make a difference. Given the number of defiant stacks can be as many as 70, it’s taking into account the entire event range.

In these videos, it is proven, there are 4 different instances of different numbers of people, all with different results.
There is no rhyme or reason to the rate of spawns, I do find that champions spawn all the time at south regardless of number of people..
BUT regardless, I’ve seen spawns of champions with 1 person there.

Went to the 8pm eastern Tequatl run and held North, it was me and 6 guildies (7 of us)
we didn’t spawn a single champion the entire time we were there
It was rather odd (I was expecting at least 1 champion to spawn)

I was at the 11pm eastern Tequatl run…while everyone was dpsing just before spawns came up only two of us were present to defend when they did actually spawn because a few of our group lagged behind on the way back.

I can confirm a champion grub spawned with only two of us present. I need more data for this and will be doing more tests whenever I can. I’ll try to screenshot next time.

We had six people at the boat at spawn time near the beginning…just between 80 and 75% health, only 1 spawn with the group of six. The rest were Veterans and Elites.

I don’t have much recorded data but I’m still not seeing a correlation.

I do Tequatl every chance I get and used to do it 3-4 times a day when he was updated

I’ve received several rude remarks in my time if I show up at boats and there’s already 5 people there. People are adamant about having more then five people spawning champs. I’ve been sworn at by a commander because of this.

One time, there was only two of us at the spawn….guess what, a champion spawned anyways.

I’d like to see the proof as well.

Trahearn never claimed credit for killing the Dragon. He tells he he’s sad that he can’t continue on to help you with the fight and has to stay and work on Orr.

My sylvari tastes like potato she looks like a nightshade ( potato) plant cause she’s pink leaved with white bark ( and ironically ..her last name is Nightshade)
