Well I already got the name of the unity character so my in game role play is complete

I got the name the second after the E3 trailer……….am not disappointed how many "I Arno Dorian I " i see in dinvinty’s reach lol.

If you want to be on a tpvp team, specializing in something is a good choice. Guardian and ele currently will give you the most flexibility of finding a team. Thieves work well too, but you need to be able to edge out all the other thieves (which there seem to be tons) fighting for a roster spot.

If you are looking to just do hotjoins/soloQ, then you can continue to play what you’re in the mood for. If you want to rise in the leaderboard for soloQ, then I’d say stick with something you find fun. Thief/ele/guard can all carry in soloQ so pick whichever you enjoy most.

Thank you for your response…..I have been noticing a lot of S/D thief posts lately (mostly asking for nerfs lol) I guess I’ll have to play around and find which role I would like to play (thus adding another level of depth to this decision ) I will deffinetly consider ele and guardian as I have wanted to learn elementalist since i started playing

You can do that in sPvP too. You will be really useful in solo q if what you want to do with your characters is to fill gaps the team needs

Hey so I am pretty new to pvp (referring to structured pvp) and I have been screwing around in hotjoins lately and having a lot of fun. Since I’ve mostly done wvw and pve up to this point I have never really had a class that I would call my main and I’ve basically just swapped between professions to fill whatever void we had in the zerg/roaming group. I am wondering if that is still something I can do in more organized pvp (meaning not hotjoins) or do I need to specialize more in one class. If I do have to specialize (something I want to do anyway) which class is the most desirable for structured teams? I have an 80 thief, ele, warrior, guardian, and mesmer (I mostly prefer the ele guard and thief) but if I needed to i could scrap some gems together for another character slot and roll something else.

The thief has great mobility
The Guardian is either support or sword/x

Tl:Dr I would suggest:
1. Warrior
2. Elementalist
3. Ranger/Thief/Engineer
4. Mesmer
5. Guardian/Necromancer

Explaination:
Warrior is highly mobile, and usually great in supporting a small roaming group.
Elementalist, has lots of combo fields. But better suited in a larger group.
R/T/E provide less group support.
Mesmer is great for portals, veil etc. But not very mobile.
You already have a Guard, and necro is quite useless for roaming.

So I just convinced 2 friends into buying GW2 (after months of recommendations ) and they told me that something they really wanted to try was roaming as a small group in wvw……Only problem is that we are all on JQ (I wasn’t gonna transfer out lol) and I know that zergs are pretty much the kitten there (as you can tell I mostly PVP/PVE). They said that all of that wouldn’t matter and they still wanted to try roaming. So they rolled a Guardian (wants to run suppourt) and a Thief, I told them I would pick a class that compliments these 2 well, but I have absolutely no idea what class compliments these 2 well in this aspect of the game…..I have a fully geared ele mesmer, thief, guard and warrior and almost fully geared ele (which I suck kitten at), and I have one of those scrolls that get you to 20 instantly, which class should I roll/use that would compliment this setup the best? I assume that more people will join our group later on but for right now this is what we have.

I am talking mostly about PvE but a little WvW never hurt anyone lol.

Hi all,

Long time lurker here, and I recently started playing an Elementalist and browsing this section of the forums. I am definitely enjoying Elementlist more than warrior (mostly because it requires a pulse to play ), but one thing is proving extremely difficult, I can’t dodge worth kitten. Is there any way to improve this other than l2p? Any advice would help a lot.

So again I just need some help in order to figure out which one of these builds will work better in Dungeons, no I’m not running Arah, I’ll mostly be running Honor of The Waves until I get that whole set of armor, then I’ll run Fractals for ascended stuff, then I’ll work towards ascended weps, and then, only then will I even attempt Arah. I love having plans

I feel you have no right to ask for people to post there warrior and /age here…..I saw your thread about “advanced warriors only”, and that is a bad idea because what if a newer warrior and someone newer to the game (I.e myself) wants to learn more about warriors and what going on with them with the already confusing updates. If you want to allow only advanced warriors to reduce spam them your being no help with what seems your bi-weekly “buff warrior in some way” post

You might have better luck showing the build in a build calc than a video. I know at least one person reading this who isn’t gonna take the time to watch a video just to see a build when I can grok the whole thing in 20seconds looking at it in a build calc.

I like the idea of a tanky but high DPS warrior and the idea of steady DPS over burst DPS.
