The way i see it, is that the dragons act as a vessel for magic on tyria, while the gods act as a vessel in the mysts. When Abaddon was killed in the realm of torment, he was in the mysts, thus they needed a vessel for the magic, and kormir took his place.

Omad’s machine showed that killing a dragon would free a vessel spot, releasing the magic into the world. This is the big threat,the unbound magic.

I have the impression that the mysts are suffering from the same fate, something must’ve happened where balthazar kitten up, they tried to do the same as with Abaddon with Balth. As long as the being stays in the mysts, the balance seems fine. Balth had other plans, he fled into our world, thus they are missing a vessel, and i am assuming that’s why we have all these anomalies and portals opening from the mysts into our world and the fractals, all these pieces of reality mixed together.

He’s trying to steal our “vessels” and absorb all the ones in the mysts, and become a single giant one. Thing is he’s destroying our world in the process. Aurene will likely act as a big absorption machine. Maybe the other gods will join in at the end, and try to bring Balth back to their world, to restore the balance, if he is killed here in the “physical” world, i think that would be bad news for them. All the god wars always happened in the mysts, this would also be the reason why, when Abaddon was giving his magic to humans, the other gods knew it was bad news for them, and we know the rest of the story.

Anyways that’s my random theory. This would also explain why the god didn’t stay very long here. Maybe staying to long here, weakened the other universe(mysts) and they had to go back?

My prediction:

We follow Balth deeper into the desert, on the way, palawa joko becomes a threat blocking our path and we must eliminate him, maybe doing the same ritual that was done in guild wars 1, sealing him away. Balthazar has already engaged the dragon, we fight them both.
The dragon is wounded by Balth. Aurene, now a bit stronger manages to finish Kralk with our help, avenging her mother and absorbing his powers, becoming a full crystal dragon.
She contains the magic so it doesn’t disrupt the balance of the world. With her help we blow Balthazar out of this plane of existence :P .

In my opinion, any character from Prophecies in the Devona team wins hands down. Since they are the only ones in canon, that actually helped in every single major event.

Strongest Warrior: Devona. She participated in the killing of The lich, ascending in the process, later followed Mehnlo to Cantha and helped defeat Shiro. Later she was recruited by Kormir and helped in the defeat of Abaddon, and watched the birth of a new god. Finnaly she continued to the eye of the north and helped kill The Great Destroyer.

Strongest Elementalist: Cynn. Same story as Devona since they were on the same team, plus she single-handedly destroyed a charr warband when she was a kid.

Strongest Necromancer: Verata, developed his own spells to steal other necromancer’s minions, created a cult that was a big threat to kryta.Eve would be up there too since she was with the Devona team.

Strongest Ranger Aidan, another ascended that was in every major event.

Strongest Mesmer After reading the books i have to give this one to Jennah, its not everyday that you manifest Kralkatorik and deceive his own minions hah.

Strongest Engineer Scarlet. She almost killed us all, created an entire category of beings, woke up an elder dragon.

Strongest Guardian Logan, Braham is close.

Strongest Revenant Rytlok…

Strongest Thief I’m not considering Gw1’s assassins for this one, so id say Caithe.

The human race sure seems to be a nice vessel for power to develop to insane amounts, that’s for sure. Then again we don’t have much info on other races.

I think Primordus is the most dangerous, even lorewise. He has been awake the longest (100years or so if not more),meaning more time to absorb magic, specially since he’s underground he is close to leylines. He pretty much threw out all the races living underground leaving alot of room for his armies. A million of destroyers could be below any part of tyria right now and nobody would know about it, until its too late.

Just take into consideration the fact that one of his champions was the demise of an entire race, and took the greatest heroes that Tyria had to kill him, the same heroes that fought against gods/liches/envoys had to reunite the charr/norn/dwarves/asura to fight this champion.

And he doesn’t need living beings to create an army, only fire and stone. I hope that we dont kill Primordus too quickly, i was actualy expecting him to be the last one we face.

Bring back PvE only skills :D

Today i played a bit of gw1, and was thinking that it would be nice if we could have PvE only skills like in the first game.

For those who never played the first game, PvE and PvP had different skill balance, they then added what is called PvE only skills. These Skills could not be used in pvp, and were meant to be stronger versions of certain already existing skills, if i remember, you were limited by 3 pve skills on your bar(of course this would change in gw2 since we don’t have the customization of the first game)

Each class could have their specific pve spells, or you could add general ones for everyone. These spells should be a bit more powerful, and have a long cooldown similar to Elite skills (although the current elite skills kinda suck and i would gladly trade them for another utility slot).

One of the main reasons i was thinking about it, is that the classes could represent themselves a bit more, by having some kind of super powerful moment (kind of like spellweaving in age of conan)

Let me give you a example.

I played necromancer as a main in the first game, after making my nec in gw2 it didnt feel right, the minions pretty much suck, and i didn’t have that feeling of master of the dead, like in the first game so lets bring back some old gw1 spells and use them as a powerful pve only spell that would have a long cooldown, but would be pretty nice to pop in dungeons etc, imo this would require a specific pve skill slot, so the other spells wont be useless on your bar.

Ex: Aura of the lich (pve only spell) cast time 5 sec , recharge 300sec, requires full life force bar. 30 second duration (minions last until dead)

Description : The necromancer, concentrates all his power into a single spell, draining all his life force and gaining the Aura of the lich.

Aura of the Lich : Lose all life force, and sacrifice 30% of your maximum hp, to gain the aura of the lich, gain protection for 30 seconds, and summon 2 bone horrors, that strike in melee and 2 wraiths that leech life and deal damage at range, while in aura of the lich, minions spells that are cast withing the duration have 50% more hp, and deal 10% more damage.You passively steal life of any enemies within a 200unit radius. Once the aura dissipates you regain 30% of your maximum hp.(limit of 10 minions per necromancer)

So, it takes 5 seconds of channeling the spell, sure it sounds long, but you would look kitten, making the necromancer look like the real thing.

Elite skills were pretty much supposed to be these cool, tide changing spells, but they all seem lackluster to me, considering that some normal spells can do things better than them.

Anyways, what do you guys think about this, would it be nice, or would it cause anger in the pvp community, it seemed to work pretty well in the first game, i don’t see why i wouldn’t work here, considering the game has a nice engine to exploit and make kitten looking spells etc.

Man i just hope they will add more “serious” looking legendaries than the actual glitter/unicorn/flowery stuff we have right now. I have found 3 precursors so far and never wanted to make one since they all look out of context to me.

I think its probably going to be like 39.99$ or something like that,like others have said, from what they have shown, and considering its already going into closed beta soon, the amount of content shown doesn’t even come near any other expansion released by other mmo’s for the same price.

My main in gw1 was a necromancer, i really hope they improve the ai in minions and bring back the hexes/curses, i miss those.

The specialization might be something called “Corrupter” using the greatsword to hit and spread weakness and stuff like that.

Maybe the death shroud is replaced by some f1 to f4 attunements similar to the eles, but each one of them, spreading some kind of curse. When you attune to these curses, they consume a bit if life force as death shroud would.

Ex:
F1 – Curse of weakness : Your attacks cause enemies to be weaken for X seconds(with cooldown), and you gain 300 power.

F2- Lingering Curse : A lingering curse surrounds you (600 radius), the lingering curse steals health from surrounding minions and heals you every 2 seconds. Starting slowly and building up stolen life dmg the longer the foe is in the cursed zone. You and allies in the cursed area gain 20% healing bonus.

F3- Curse of the Spiteful Spirit : When the curse is activated, send a spiteful spirit that possesses foes, the spirit can possess up to 5 foes at a time, when these foes attack or use a skill/spell, they take X amount of damage, and deal X damage to nearby foes.

F4 – Curse of The Lich: When you activate this curse, gain an Aura of the Lich, while this curse is active, your health pool is reduced by 30%, but you gain 500 toughness, you summon 3 bone horrors that can cause bleeding with each attack, your minions gain might(10) Fury (20s) and can be cast instantly.

Greatsword skills:

1.1 – Cursed Slash : Deals X damage and curse de target, crippling them.
Chain 1.2 – Vile Strike: Deals X damage
Chain 1.3 – Slash of Agony: Deals X damage

2- Lifebane Strike : Hit your targets twice, for X dmg, if foe is abobe 80% hp, steal X health.

3- Curse of Suffering, up to 5 targets in the area, loose X hp every second for 10 seconds

4- Toxic Whirlwind: spin your greatsword above you, striking up to 10 foes for X dmg and poisoning them.

5- Rigor Mortis : Send your greatsword through a mist portal, that will open above target zone, hitting up to 5 foes, and cannot be blocked. and you gain vigor.

Ah, all this seems kind of op haha, but i would love it.

when doing champions in orr with my guardian, i get 2 shot every couple of seconds

I must strongly advise you to look at your build, because something is very, very wrong here.

I am wondering the same thing, but i dont think the build matters when you get hit for 17k dmg per hit.

If you dont believe me, go to the jofast event and try to hit the champions in melee.

Anyways, im pretty sure i just suck at this class hah(in pve).

The dmg of ranged weapon attacks suck, but it comes with great survivability, when doing champions in orr with my guardian, i get 2 shot every couple of seconds, while my gf is in the back with her ranger afk. I play mesmer as my main, and i see a huge difference in survival, between it and my guardian, sure i do kittenton of dmg with the greatsword, but can only take 1-2 hits from champs, and no you cant dodge them for some weird kitten reason.

Take for example a champ corrupter guy.

Engage him in melee, he creates his aoe around him, you dodge it, he pulls you in, you die. My mesmer does way less damage, but at least i can stay in the back and faceroll stuff.

Melee is only good when you have multiple of them stacked in the same place, if you’re a small group vs a champ, you can be sure you’re going to kiss the ground a couple of times. Armor in this game seems to have very little effect.

Im talking pve here, i freaking love my guardian in pvp.

As someone who studies 3d modeling/animation, i am pretty sure it is a censure on the breast of female characters. Their normal maps are a kind of texture that gives the illusion of bumpiness. If i remember the medium female armor for human and norn had their nipples showing in that texture.

But maybe i am just a crazy guy.

It’s neither, it’s as new as Ascended Armor is itself. It’s just extremely rare and incredibly unlikely.

Chances are you got junk stats you will never want, so unlucky that it’s not a precursor I guess.

Ha i was playing with my girlfriend and told her the same thing, i should’ve used that luck for a 700 gold precursor, as i dont even do fractals.

Hello everyone, i restarted playing Gw2 not too long ago, currently have a 80 guardian and 80 mesmer, both with exotic gear. I am looking for an active guild to do dungeons, fractals etc.

I really want to get started on fractals since i have never done them, also looking for a guild that likes to do world events. Also, my girlfriend plays with me, she is new to the mmo world, but has already a lvl 80 ranger, so if you accept new players it would be nice too.

I like the changes made to dungeons and dungeon rewards.

I never got silver from the chest O_o, most of the time it was between 1copper and 50 copper per chest, the gold was comming from the 27 silver every 15 minutes for completing the path.

Oh no i need to run another path, you will still have to run it 30-40 more times for your armor set…didnt change a thing.

What are you talking about, GW2 lets you change every skill on your skill bar at the drop of a hat. Different weapon sets, you can change your utilities/healing/elite around, and you can even change the I-XII traits you choose in each line.

So, everyone knows this, doesn’t change that when you switch it is still the same skills always depending on the weapon. Gw1 had the cross profession advantage. I’m just saying the average player will never enjoy the dungeons in gw2. If they cant complete them now with their given weapon/utility skills, they wont complete it in 3 months. By completing i mean doing in without difficulty.

In Gw1 you also had insane dmg mitigation, something that doesn’t really exists here.

But its true we can switch our weapons etc, something that everyone should learn, but the average player doesn’t seem to get that(from what i’ve seen) and on top of that it doesn’t bring in the customization gw1 had.

I’m not really complaining, with my guild we run dungeons pretty often, difficulty is not really an issue(rewards are) but the average joe will kiss the dirt alot.

I started playing gw1 when it came out, since then i think i have around 5000hours on my account.

Then i started playing WoW, didnt get much attention from me tho.

Jumped to Aion, and made several max lvl characters, got bored.

Went to Rift, raided a bit with my ranger and had quite some fun, friends stopped playing so i stopped too.

Retried Age of Conan, made it to level 78 and stopped playing.

Got into Tera online, made it to max level, finished content in less than a month.

Now Gw2.

But like i said, the guardian can do it too, but with less effort, the guardian’s seals give vulnerability too, and they can create fire fields, no need for constant swapping, just faceroll to victory… But yeah the fields of the ele are nice.

Im just saying this because i played both class, and when i got my guardian to 80 i just couldn’t believe how weak the ele was compared to it(pve wise anyways). Its not normal to have a class that has the lowest hp pool, the lowest armor, and on top of that doesn’t deal more damage than a class who has their traits set to defense. They were fine in the betas, but something changed, i dont know what tho.(actually the dmg was lowered by alot)

@80 dmg wise, eles are quite bad, if you compared single target dmg of an ele decked for full dps, to a guardian decked balanced, the guardian will outdmg it on single target, even if he is not even set to dps mode.

Eles do shine at aoe tho, but then again, so do the warrior and guardian, doing all they do but much better.

Its actually really easy to test what most people mean, create an ele, go pvp, go full dps build, attack the dummies to test. Create a guardian, go balanced build toughness, vit.

What i noticed:
On Ele(built full dmg crit) i would deal 1.5k-3k hits. (using staff,daggers were even lower since not all attacks crit at the same time.)
On Guardian(10 10 20 20 10, balanced tanky)(i have one lvl 80 btw): 1.2k-5k hits

Do you see what is wrong with that?

ele has low hp,low armor, put all points into might, precision = deals less dmg than a guardian set to more hp,more def, less might, less precision.

the dmg is the max numbers i saw on the screen from single attacks on a single target

Hmm so they did change stuff from the beta? i was wondering since in the betas my ele dealt way more damage than the one i have at the moment, i dont regret rolling guardian, very fun @ 80.

Was really looking forward to playing ele, leveled mine to 60 and stopped, then rerolled guardian, i liked the ele, because i always loved mage classes, but the amount of work you have to put to get the same result as another class was insane.

I wonder why they didn’t separate skills from pve and pvp like they did in the first game, considering we have like 10000 less spells.

Warrior all the way, see warriors doing 10k-15k dmg from 1-2 attacks, max i’ve ever done @ 80 with exotic gear on my guardian was around 5-6k
