Uh, they need to scrap conquest before they balance something around conquest. Dota 2 has like maybe 2 major balance patches a year, its one of the most successful Esports.

Quality over quantity.

Yeah I’m not too sure what happened with vault thieves, but at some point they all just tapered off. I think traditional D/P is still most deadly.

All of the builds I run so far deal with condition S/D easily.

I actually ran into two S/P thieves yesterday, after not having seen any for years. The build felt pretty good. Did lots of damage to my guard.

The issue isn’t the projectile itself, its the impact effect. Projectile effects being nice and visible is a GOOD thing, both in and out of PvP. Its just that in PvE when you have large enemies and the impact effect gets scaled up in size is when everything goes to kitten.

Oh and these stupid backpacks that you won’t let others turn off, even in low detail/low players shown mode. Because it makes you money right?

These visual changes has all the hallmarks of an Arenanet special; terribly implemented, kneejerk reaction and untested. Bravo.

I think scourge really rewards positioning. I like it. The life force problem is a big one at the start of the match, but once it fills up you can get a lot of mileage out of it. I was running carrion.

What I don’t like is that visually theres no differentiation between enemy shades and your shades, and there’s very weak visuals when F5 happens and the elite happens. Very confusing visually

Anet fixing this situation is an admission of the mistake that was made here; like I already pointed out to you, these situations are typically the result of the developer creating the situation so there is no way for Anet to avoid that admission.

You simply don’t like the fact that they correctly identify players for abusing it and sending a warning. It’s the player’s risk to ignore this warning. Presenting irrelevant, alternative exploitable situations would be considered rather weak evidence to justify exploiting, but that’s just me I guess.

That really is just you, because every other person identifies that as the proper way to present an argument. The fact that you label relevant evidence as irrelevant, then finish off with ‘Arenanet can do whatever they like’ is deflection.

No. They could’ve admitted they made a mistake by saying ‘we neglected to update this skill after changes to deathly chill was made, .’. this item is locked for the time being’. That’s how you admit a mistake.

Ghost thief changes and frostgun changes are the ideal comparison scenarios, both scenarios involve players using skills that have not mechanically faulted, but the synergy in the context they reside in produced an unintended effect. Yet one is labelled as an exploit and one is not, and you have failed to answer that.

They really need to stop hypercharging all these classes. Game would be much more interesting to watch if we had longer CDs and healing didn’t reset the fight so easily.

Sorry Agemnon i cant agree with anything you said. Firstly i didnt mention balance because the issues with GW2 are more fundamental than balance, its the framework the game is balanced to. Its as if the rules of football are broken, there’d be no point imposing a salary cap.

I agree with hawke in that the game is too complex for its own good. Complexity in a competitive environment should be bred from a simple paradigm, via people doing things creatively with the limited set of tools they have.

The most entertaining part of a GvG in GW1 was watching 6 of the 8 players on a team coordinate a spike on the enemy monk. Everything happens in about 2-3 seconds where eqch player pretty much only fires off two attacks. The skills they used might differ slightly but the idea is simple, the mechanics are complex.

Players making the game complex by innovation is what this game needs, not the game doing it for them.

I agree with the people above also that the ‘casual’ nature of GW2 holds it back completely in being an esport, but as I said earlier, this game is inaccessible even for casuals

Main Hand Dagger Condi

But not being in line with the intent of the weapon? The weapon already has a skill that wants your foes to bleed.

Again, I’ve explained why that’s a reason to NOT add bleed to dagger AA. The weapon takes advantage of bleeding foes; that does not mean it’s intent is to be a condition application weapon. Enabling the weapon to give the extra dagger 2 advantage without thought is a stupid implementation.

I love how you just ignored the part there about Axe having received a very similar change. In fact, it happened in the exact same patch as Life Siphon started caring about Bleeding! They’re even both #2 skills and channels!

I don’t see how the two influence each other’s concepts. Axe does both, doesn’t necessarily mean that dagger needs to as well. Of course, it doesn’t mean dagger can’t but that’s neither here nor there. I’ve given reasons I don’t think it should.

And just because you don’t see something doesn’t mean your opinion is anymore correct. It just means you don’t see it.

Casual is a term for people who play a short and irregular amount of time each week without a steady schedule. It has nothing to do with personal skill. Raids are already casual-friendly.

Casual has nothing to do with length of playing time. It’s just a description of commitment to change your playing style to fit the game’s needs. Casuals would rather the game changed to fit them, not the other way around. Regardless whether they’re skiled or not, or if they play 1 hour per week or 10 hours per day. Hardcores on the other hand are perfectly fine with rescheduling their timetable, and changing their friends just to fulfill some game needs – and they think others should be fine with it as well, for some reason or another.

I thought most people were asking for an easier version, so that you elitists can continue to use your special bathrooms and water fountains, we’ll settle for some thing stripped down and low class as far as the rewards.

We’re talking video games here, not racial segregation.

Are we? Seeing some statements about how some people don’t deserve to have fun unless they convert to the Only Playstyle That Matters, i’m not so sure.

Well then, I’m a casual player by your description and I raid just fine. Don’t give casuals a bad name please.
