No, what he’s saying is not rubbish. The caliber of the players are much less observable in a 15v15 teamfight. Seeing abilities and reacting to them, dodging, defensive positioning, baiting of cooldowns, these skills which are usually tied to player skill become almost impossible to perform, or pick out.
Also, your reason why a guild team of 5 or 8 players can’t prove who the better guild is – that’s rubbish, lol. PvP guilds are very often, 5 players. Who are you to say a Guild has to be a certain size to be legitimate?
Afaik, those are called teams, which happens to be confirmed by Anet and ESL/DPS/Mistpedia/AG.
They are only using the feature to wear the same tags.
They are far from being a Guild, literally.
That’s why I’m kinda with Frozen with the quote ‘best Guild’ for 1 reason:
The players of that team, will switch guildnames, switch teams (or “guilds”) etc, making it far from being the best Guild. There won’t be a solid 1st “Guild” in that Leaderboard.
Those players don’t care about their “Guild”, they do care about their ‘team’ and win.
Lots of players from certain teams switch teams every 2-3 weeks back and forth. This will remain the same. (look ESL)
Which is why I am against the quote saying “nr1 Guild in the Game”.
Because they have no1 but theirselves to bring honor to. Only their tag, whic is the only thing they got.
Hell, some players will be in 2-3 so called “Guilds” in top 10, that’s how much they care about “Guilds”..

Yup, it sickens me searching for a game where I can join in.. Something needs to be done.
As I am one of the very few ‘all-classers’ and playing all classes in PvP, it would be cool for a new title fixed upon that.
Currently each class has it’s own title, ex Champion Paragon (Guardian)
At this moment, I’m close having all Champion Titles and it would be nice to have a exclusive title combined with it.
Suggestion:
Having all 8 Champion titles, earns you the title “Jack of All Trades”
This would eventually stimulate some ppl to try other classes with the chance finding their new main class.
This title will also show that the player atleast has alot of experience (150 × 8 Matches won= 1200 matches won) and kinda understands the rotations/job of most or all classes.

I think we’re up to 5 turret complaint threads a day.
There’s only a handful of posters that are rabidly against this build.
So, if players are playing the build and having fun, then the Dev’s must have designed it pretty well. It can’t even be as “OP” as the complaints are since it’s not a Meta Build.
1. Wrong, most of the community is against this build, even top players. (they even stream to show how stupidly OP it is. One top player even used it in NA 2v2 cup, to show how broken it is. Not gonna call names )
2. Wrong, doesn’t mean its fun to play, the devs did a good job. Playing something OP is mostly fun because you get rewarded for it in this game. Rewards equals fun (Leaderboard).
3. It’s not meta in ESL because top players don’t want to be called noobs for playing something cheesy as that. (Cele meta already showing this) I think it you get 5 top players together, let them play 5 turret engi or 4 turret engi and a thief/ele/warr doesn’t matter, they can basically win any tournament. But they don’t. It’s lame.
PS. I forfeited PUG commanding and only work to strengthen Kalevala’s guild play nowadays.

I dont think this new gamemode is the GvG as many people want it/are expecting it. I mean, a 5v5 objective based gamemode? We already have those!
How is the guild on top of a scorelist based on this gamemode the best guild in the game??? That guild just happens to have 5 players who are extremely good at capping stuff and killing a guild lord…
When I think GvG, is see two guilds (at least 15 member of each guild) fighting against the same number of people from another guild! Not capping some stupid point or killing some lord-dude…
Anet please, its so simple to implement a viable gvg system, just let guilds be able to open a private instance of OS in their guild hall and invite another guild to it!

In all the MMO’s I’ve played, GvG was pure killing eachother. 10v / 15v15 or 20v20..
Was stoked when I heard GvG.
I cried when I heard trebuchet, supplies, heroes and a Lord…
If I want WvW small scale, I would move to low-pop server and get a party and do that ;<
I play my turret engi if I do not want to have to pay too much attention to the game. The biggest issue I see with Turret engi’s is that their turrets have some stupidly long range and health. I have seen warriors and thieves wail away at my thumper turrets for ages.
My bunker turret engi can sit amongst his turrets for ages against three other people. If I set up my turrets well (rifle and rocket overlooking the point but no where near it) then I have a LOT of reliable damage coming down.
I fold to actually coordinated teams though. If my turrets get destroyed I have a good 30-40 seconds of only having my numbers 1-5.
But keep in mind, this is what bunkers do. I get very few kills but I deny point capture.
That’s exactly what I mean, a bunker shouldn’t be able to bunk vs 3 enemies at all, it’s just way too imbalanced.

I don’t get why people would think having 2v2/3v3 would save the game.
Seems I need to repeat myself over and over: game is balanced around 5v5, look at the skills and the traits.
2v2/3v3 would work if it would have it’s own balance-team, which is not going to happen as Anet already has enough work for the 5v5 in Conquest.
I’m totally up for 2v2/3v3 but I’m being realistic, knowing alot of top-notch devs already left Anet, it’s either not coming or it’s coming with lots of balance-issues due skills/traits being balanced for 5 targets/allies.
Ready Up episode also said 3rd of June… Give us the reward promised us so I can be happy again QQ.. Also, release Rox’ Bow and Quiver again!!!!!!!!

in pvp i can hardly cap a point if just the turrets are there, let alone of there are 2 engi’s with 10 turrets

If 2 Turret Engis sit on one point you have an easy 5v3 on the other 2 points.
And if one Turret Engi sits on mid and one Turret Engi at home, what now? The Turret Engi at home can put another Rocket Turret to help mid if he wants to as well. You people actually think Turret Engi can’t rotate LMAO.
Don’t even get me started on how broken the trait “Experimental Turrets” is in team fights. I swear casuals just love to defend easy and effective which is a big middle finger to people who know what hard work is.

Balance changes affect all game-modes, and as long that is the case, my opinion stays as it is.
Then I think it’s more appropriate to ask for a seperate balance patches. It doesn’t make sense to balance PvP and PvE at the same time with same patch.
I think calculating/adjusting everything based on our 3 gametypes, is actually the reason why balancing is taking so long and sometimes doesn’t make sense.
After a while of testing on thief, I have to agree: Build Diversity is worse.

So yes, it has many counters.
The very real problem is not in it’s community. It’s in the match-ups. Example: I was top 400 Solo Q for few weeks in a row pre-patch k. Patch came in, boom, getting teamed up with people who don’t know anything about Team Arena or Solo Q or it’s teamwork. Capping one freecap with 4. Staying there waiting.. Now my ranking is 9xx or lower.. Why do ranked ppl get matched with unranked r5 players anyway? There is a reason why Anet removed the ability to see other ppl ranks after the match. They knew ranked ppl were gonna rage because they’re losing their leaderboard ranking so Anet decided to hide the problem. Match ups should be based on tourni games won/lost ratio or something. I love new people in PvP, really. But I rly hate having beginners in my party when i’m competitive. It’s just the same the elitist PvE’rs wwant experienced +5k AP zerkers in their party to do Speedrun. They get what they want through LFG. Let the PvP’ers have fair match-ups then..
Good changes IF the matchmaking was good.

Tendons instead of Fangs??? RNG?!!!!??? I have almost 6k played hours and never had luck with RNG.
I’m also leader of a PvP Guild and doing nothing but PvP.
But forcing us to be stuck LONGER than NEEDED because of RNG is something that’s just not going through my head.

Why would a inexperienced Turret Engi be able to pressure an good, experienced organized team? Doesn’t make sense at all. Even when 2v1, sure, we beat it, if we got the perfect circumstances. We still receive alot of random damage/cc which should be nerfed.
Top players also are trying to proof how stupidly OP it is through stream.
Whenever you’re in Custom Arena on EU, the 1v1 servers, the game crashes EVERY time you try to spectate the build.

Ok, I’ve had it with all the hate…so I’m gonna address some of the accusations being throw around against eles and hope this helps people appreciate were not monsters but players.
On this past weeks I’ve been playing conquest and dueling against pretty much every class out there, my skill level is normal (not an ubber player, so i can represent every elementalist jumping on the hype train, and so you know ele is my main since forever). In this weeks I’ve been insulted, accused of cheating, received rude comments due to asking for practice vs experienced players (God forgive u ask to practice defensive moves while playing D/D)..and even so I came here so I can at least try to separate fact from fiction:
1) Eles are OP
Yes we are, at this moment we have (always had great sustain) and we also manage to deal tons of damage (burning) and also we shine in team fights and can drag fights on points as we see fit.
2) Burning damage is OP on ele
Yes it is, would love to see it reduced (less burn stacks so we don’t destroy condition based builds), we shouldn’t have so much dps as an attrition class
3)Eles have too many sustain
STOP! NO just no…this game is already fast and furious enough…we need some classes to be able to be on point and not melt in 10 seconds flat to a spike…we and guardian bunkers are needed and have a role to play…what we shouldn’t have is sustain and DPS.
4)Eles require no skill, u just need to learn to learn combos and there u go
Are u kidding me???? u need to keep track of cooldowns know when and where not to skip rotations to avoid/deal a spike and return to optimal rotation, u need to manage the smallest health pool of the game knowing that when you’re spiked u have about 10 seconds to react or your dead…I don’t ask for u guys to love eles but this is just wonkers…until the latest balance patch we were considered one of the hardest classes to play and no one contested this…balance patch hits and we no longer take skill…righttttttt
They literally require no skill to fullfill the role you’re supposed to do in Conquest
5)PU mesmers and stealth regen thiefs that say that healing on ele is cheesy….
Come on guys…seriously? Seems to me there’s no difference in outhealing while kitting or disappearing and regen health as you need thus resetting the fight.
Stealth regen thieves… They do not outheal you, you outheal them by a very great amount. Just auto attacking in Air will already outheal the thief in stealth..
6)D/D eles win every duel…
Not true at all but we can drag fights so reinforcement come and thus turn a 1vs1 into a team fight…that is our ROLE. Several matchups are pretty bad for us:
PU mesmers
Shatter mesmers
Berzerker thiefs
Berzerker warriors
Condition and celestial necros
D/D has only real 1 counter in duels, which is the cele necro. D/D eles can easily defeat a Mesmer and most certainly a thief. If you can’t, thats actually a L2P issue
