Although I’ve noticed something very disappointing about TC…where are the dolyack parades and dueling clubs I remember? Please tell me they still exist
They still happen, just generally not on reset night. Monday and beyond we start doing more informal stuff like this.
My reasoning for it reducing zerging is as follows:
It would give guilds a new tool to play together and effectively operate as a unit. The most effective use of players is NOT all bunched up on a single icon. People would naturally learn this fact with the introduction of a guild commander.

Here is my version of what is essentially the same request:
Anet – please give us the ability to choose the color of our commander tag and the ability to make these tags public or private!
For colors we really wouldn’t need more than 16 colors to choose from but make the default blue tag clickable. Clicking the default blue tag when making a squad should pop up something very much like the dye palette menu. Pick your color and go!
To make a tag public or private just give the commanders a simple four digit passcode prompt that they can define by checking a box and putting in a four digit code.
Examples:
Putting up a private tag:
Create Squad —-> Check private check-box —-> Fill out four digit code “1234” etc. —-> dispensnce info to guild/map/party as needed.
Joining a private tag:
Joining a Private Commander —-> “This commander is set to private, please enter password” —-> PW: 1234 —-> Successfully joined commander’s private group!
If the commander wants to switch passcodes, they just have to drop tag and recreate their squad effectively “booting” its current members.
Changing commander tag colors:
Create Squad —-> Click default blue chip —-> Select new color from a simple palette.
Anet, if you do this, you will see a massive renaissance in how WvW is played that de-emphasizes massive zergs and encourages new, exciting, play.
Get angry.
If Devon can point to an entire forum that is upset over WvW changes then he can at least say “Hey, people are upset, I need more people working on my team.” to his bosses.
Guess why the last round of answers finally happened? Yeah, squeaky wheel gets the grease and WvW needs a lot of grease.
Get angry, be constructive. Demand something happens or nothing will happen. I think that has pretty much been proven by now.
The top three:
1. Commander Tag / Party functionality
2. How WvW population is handled. Stacking VS deserted servers.
3. WvW rewards no where near PvE rewards. Ascended, legendary, Achievements etc.

Seriously. Last month I tried to do dungeons but I just couldn’t bring myself to do something I hate for laurels so this month I am much happier that you’re not trying to cram Fractals/Dungeons down my throat with “incentives.”
Thank you for getting more back on track with your mantra of “play how you want” and less with “we will only reward you properly if you’re running dungeons.”

Why do you pick the low hanging fruit and address the guy that clearly has no clue, or is this what you think qualifies for community management?
Where is our commander functionality that is actually functional? Or the ability to kick off-line party members. How about elementalists not providing wxp if they mist form in downed state? How about the supply mastery speed boost upon supply pickup being 33% and not 50% as it says on the tool tip. Have you fixed clipping through gates in towers?
Expioters? Abuse? What qualifies as abuse of wvw mechanics?
Etc I could go on… This is why wvw forum people are upset.

Yea! I am tired for dueling CORP and getting predictably stomped into the ground over and over.
FA and TC will never be apart. It is like Romeo and Juliet without the suicide at the end and 40 years of marriage that follows. We ARE married, ugh, and you didn’t go shopping like you promised you would and for gods sake put the seat down!!! Arrgh!

Another thing I wish Anet would add would be a limit on how many players can use a tower/keep portal door in a say, 2 second window. A limit like 10 people per second would prevent huge portal bombs from keeps and towers and encourage more players to either 1) jump off walls (spec drop damage traits!) 2) use portals 3) use other parts of the tower 4) encourage defenders to pick at the sides of the zerg 5) setup open door/wall killzones and then push out of the breach… 6) etc
As it is, any coordinated guild can bomb 40 people out of a portal with stability to spare and effectively clash with an unsuspecting hostile zerg mob and melt them in seconds. Putting 10 people per second limit on a gate wouldn’t prevent this tactic, but it would certainly give people time to react to it. A mesmer portal takes time to become active, this is a deliberate choice. A gate is almost instant and currently infinite.
