Thanks for your quick response, Jason. I’m really glad this was just a simple oversight/mistake. It didn’t make sense that it would be intentional.
And to answer another question: Pristine Fractal Relics are not part of the wallet.
Wow, really? That’s rather disappointing and seems to go against the very concept of the wallet.
I’m having the exact same problem. I’ve never earned the GWAMM title through legitimate or illegitimate means yet I received a letter stating that I have.
The first attached screenshot was taken on November 19. And as you can see from the second screenshot, which was taken a little while ago, I’ve lost at least 443 achievement points. Note that I’ve obtained the achievement chest for 21,500 points, which is where I get the 443 number from. The next chest is for 22,000 points (as shown in the screenshot). It appears that I’m missing all of my Hall of Monuments achievement points and associated titles.
I really hope this can be corrected. Losing over 400 achievement points and titles that I’ve legitimately earned for not doing anything wrong is extremely frustrating.
Mesmers are only picked for portals, Feedback, and Time Warp in dungeons? I won’t deny that those skills are extremely helpful but they’re hardly the only reasons why mesmers are good to bring along.
I’ve tried to do this event 4 times tonight. Every fight was on a different copy of the map, and every single one was bugged like this.
The siege carrier at the southern vine wall can never break through to the boss. This will repeat until the event fails.
Since the large update last week, I’ve been encountering an error message stating that there is “No valid path to target.” with all of the teleport skills that require ground targeting in the game. Blink and Infiltrator’s Arrow are the skills that I encounter it the most often with but it seems to happen with every teleport skill that uses ground targeting. I understand that the system used to determine what valid paths are has been revamped significantly. I don’t have an issue with that as the new system seems to prevent some odd behavior with those types of skills.
Having said that, the problem is the skills arbitrarily fail to teleport me to my destination even if I’m on completely flat ground. This makes them incredibly frustrating to use in combat as they may randomly fail and with no obvious reason. They just refuse to work.
This happens consistently when on ramparts of towers/keeps in WvW. But not on all of them. Note that I’m not trying to teleport off of them. I’m just trying to teleport to another location directly ahead of me on the rampart. I’ve also had it happen when trying to teleport up onto a rock in various areas and then work perfectly fine if I move my character slightly. Or it’ll fail on completely flat terrain. It also happens inconsistently on stairs.
I can’t seem to reproduce this problem reliably unless I specifically try to teleport to a location I obviously can’t reach. In those cases the error seems to be displaying correctly. The problem comes in when I receive the error and I’m simply trying to teleport across an open space.

Fantasy, as well as sci-fi, has been used several times as a framework to tell stories about real life situations and experiences.
The discworld series, for example, is high fantasy comedy, and the books have dealt with insurance companies, mail systems, free press, banking, religion, politics and so on. A Song of Ice and Fire (AKA Game of Thrones) is fantasy, yet you have politics, religion, trade and all sorts of stuff on it. The Black Company series of books are also set in a fantasy book, but the style and stories would feel right at home in a gritty war novel, just to name a few. And well, if you go to the basis, The Phantom Menace (I know, not the best example, but since star wars is considered a mix of sci-fi and fantasy) is all about a trade dispute.
Exactly. Just because something is high fantasy doesn’t mean it can’t deal with more complex issues. It’s all about how it goes about dealing with them that makes them entertaining or interesting.
I think the lore for Guild Wars 2 is fantastic. It’s some of the most interesting lore in an MMO in my opinion. The story itself is fairly straightforward and a bit predictable. And in some places (e.g., story mode for The Ruined City of Arah), it’s disappointing and anticlimactic. Overall though, I think that as far as MMO stories go, it’s decent. Brilliant? No. Adequate? Yeah. Can they improve? Absolutely.
Having said all of that, I still think that if you’re looking for really in-depth, complex fantasy stories that looking to MMOs or other RPGs is the wrong approach. Your best bet is to track down well-written books.
How do you know they’re not referring to the show? Many people know it from just or mostly the show and there’s really nothing wrong with that – after all, the show does have a story that has all the elements being discussed and could be used as an example in the same capacity.
Because they mentioned the books and George R.R. Martin right after mentioning Game of Thrones.
Whatever the case, that part of my post was intended as a clarification in case people don’t know what the books are called. And I was disagreeing that they don’t have much magic. Initially the novels don’t have much magic at all but that grows along with the story. The show has intentionally cut most of the magical elements from the books. The Stark wolf dreams (not just Bran but all of the Stark children, including Jon), prophecies, and actual spells. So in the case of the show, it’s more of a medieval thriller. The books, on the other hand, are a completely different matter.
Both the show and the novels are obviously fair game for making comparisons to other media. I just think there should be a clearer distinction when discussing them. It’s like using the Harry Potter movies or the Harry Potter books. They’re so different that they are barely related beyond names and very basic plot details.
And even if they weren’t there’s really no shame or particular stupidity and calling something by a colloquial and well-recognised name. If I talk about the song “Baba O’Reily” a few people will smile and nod and be happy that someone called it by its “given name”, but I’m not going to correct anyone who calls it “Teenage Wasteland” unless we’re playing trivia and they ask me.
I wasn’t trying to shame anyone or call them stupid. I was clarifying that Game of Thrones (the HBO series) is different from A Song of Ice and Fire (the novels the HBO series is based on). The plots, characters, and level of detail are different enough between them that it warrants clarifying which one you’re referring to for the purposes of discussion. The same is true if you’re talking about The Walking Dead (the comic book) and The Walking Dead (the AMC series loosely based on the comic with the same name). Otherwise it just isn’t clear what is being talked about.

I’m primarily a PvE commander. I have several points I’d like to make:
- Unless I’m actually using my tag to help coordinate or lead something, I turn it off. Others should really do the same. There is no need to leave the tag on 24/7. It’s super easy to turn it off.
- Many commanders have merely shelled out 100g for the status. Many others have not. Just like with legendary weapons, don’t automatically assume people have bought the tag simply for the status.
- Commander tags aren’t absolutely needed in PvE. But based on my experiences in WvW, they aren’t absolutely needed there either. They’re a useful tool in the right hands and an annoyance in the wrong hands. I try to keep my usage of it in the useful category.
- Judge a commander based on their actions, personality, and how they behave, not on your preconceived notions of what “all” commanders are like. Many of us are quite nice. Many others are serious kittens. If I see a commander being a jerk while helping me do something, I usually try to defuse the situation.
- A blue icon isn’t a license to be a jerk to fellow players.
- If someone suggests a better course of action than what I’ve determined is a good idea, then I’ll gladly take the suggestion and even change my actions accordingly if I agree with it. But not all suggestions are necessarily good suggestions. What I consider a good suggestion is based on my own experiences, knowledge of the game, and how the suggestion is conveyed. I treat suggestions the same way regardless of whether I have my tag on or off.
- If someone has a problem with me or what I’m doing, I prefer being whispered about it and not called out in map chat. I consider the former to be polite and the latter to be an attempt to cause trouble. I’m more likely to listen to the polite whisper than the public calling out simply out of principle.
- I use my tag to help my guild with guild missions, organize event chains, quickly mark a location on a map for the entire zone, help with invasions, and perform other similar tasks. Not everyone appreciates the help but the ones that do seem to outweigh the ones that don’t. You can’t please everyone.
- It’d be a lot easier to organize things if more people joined my squad. It’s amazing how many times I’ve been locked out of map chat for “excessive messaging” and end up in a position where I can’t explain where to go or what to do next. When checking who’s in my squad, I often discover that I’m the only person following myself (not an ego thing — all commanders automatically follow themselves). Then I get blamed for causing the event chain to fail or for not commanding, when there’s absolutely nothing I can do due to the game locking me out of chat. Join my squad and I’ll be able to do a better job.

Oh, I’m not offended at all. I’d much rather this info come from official channels than some random user (in this case, me).
I’m actually curious to know what the recommended procedure is in a situation like this as well.
The account recovery link above did end up working for me but I also panicked when I discovered I was locked out of my own account despite taking steps to prevent exactly that! Thankfully, I wasn’t locked out of my Gmail account as well. That would have been far worse.

I just happened to exit the game and log back into my main toon and now it seems that the titles are back again, as well as access to my HoM items along with getting my AP back. Dunno what went wrong but seriously ANet needs to rethink how they go about “fixing” this.
Unfortunately, this didn’t work for me. I’m still at least 443 points short and I’m missing my titles. Oddly enough, the HOM calculator appears to be working just fine for me. None of my points are missing from that.
Maybe I’m not the norm but I’m not going to stop playing Guild Wars 2 or stop supporting ArenaNet because of a few bugs. If I stopped playing every game that has bugs, I’d never play another game again. I have yet to encounter a “no longer going to be a customer” level issue with this game. There are things I’m not happy about (e.g., the terrible RNG boxes) but so far they’re easy enough to avoid.
Is it too much like real life for some people? Having to actually work to get something…
It’s a game. It shouldn’t be exactly like real life. As has been stated many times already, the issue isn’t that it takes a while to get something. This just forces people to grind for badges if they want to use them for a PvE reward. This change punishes people that dislike WvW but are required to play in it if they want to obtain a PvE reward. I’m not sure why this is such a difficult concept.
I hope it will help larger servers with WvW queue issues. Now people won’t be eating up player count just to get free loot in the JP with all their alts.
You seem to misunderstand the concept behind jumping puzzles. So let me explain it. The concept behind the jumping puzzles is simple. You get to the top and you open a chest. The chest is your reward for completing the puzzle. The loot isn’t “free.” You have to get to the top of the puzzle to obtain it. It may not be the most difficult thing in the world but it’s the reward for getting to the top. Other than the badges and possibly the blueprints (if you’re into WvW), the “free loot” is horrendous. It isn’t like people were getting super rich on the 2 blues and possibly a green they were getting from the chest. People do the puzzles for badges of honor and blueprints. The puzzles are a PvE concept that have been thrown into a PvP environment.
Patch to fix patch just happened, still no fix for hidden killer. Is this issue still under investigation, or have we advanced to fixing it?
I think they were just too busy fixing such an important problem as dye appearance on Order of Whispers armor.
You do know that these are entirely different issues as far as complexity goes, right? And that the team can work on more than one thing at once? It sucks. I get it. But this fix may take time.
Quite a few people still do fractals. I’m not sure what you’re really talking about. Obviously they aren’t for everyone and you personally find them a chore. But the fractal that ends up being made is important to a lot of people.
It may not be relevant to you, which is fine. It is, however, relevant to a lot of other people. Those of us that actually enjoy fractals win no matter what. We’re getting new fractals. It really just comes down to which one we really want to have made. Both sound like they have a lot of potential. I’m not going to throw a fit or cry about it if the one I want isn’t the one that wins. I’m just looking forward to new fractals.
I just wanted to say thanks to Blood Red Arachnid for posting this well-reasoned and well-thought out thread about this particular issue.
In addition to everything else said in the opening posts, a big part of the “berserker problem” is the way the enemy AI behaves. Stacking against a wall (or boss) and having enemies dumbly all cluster around the group is just plain stupid and isn’t fun. Smarter enemy AI would go a long way towards fixing this issue and discouraging this sort of play without impacting the damage that zerker gear does.
Enemies need to use AoE skills to hit party members when they attempt this strategy. They need to spread out again. They need to focus on downed players to take them out. They need to heal and buff themselves to counteract high damage attacks. And so on. These changes would make the game more challenging but that’s desperately needed. I personally think it would also make the game a lot more fun.

TWO LITTLE CHANGES. So little changes that kitten I could do it, and Im java developer. And woot. You didn’t change one integer?:D Y i bet it’s not just integer cause your code must be so kitten mess, that there’re so many bugs and u can’t fix them fast. In normal code that would be one integer or update to DB, depends on what mechanism is there. But still, one integer
LMAO seriously
Yes, comparing Java development to an MMO obviously makes tons of sense…
Please clarify, because I hear everyone ranting about wvw, will this wallet work for dungeon tokens as well?
From the game releases page (https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/august-06-2013/ ):
This Wallet holds dungeon tokens, coins, karma, laurels, Guild Commendations, Fractal Relics, Badges of Honor, gems, and glory and makes them accessible to any character on your account.
So, yes, dungeon tokens are included.
It seems like only pristine fractal relics aren’t.
you get +1 for the achievement if your moa is among the first 3, so it’s a 60% chance.
got mine after 3 races with first, first, third
You need to get 1st place for all 3 points. I know this because I’ve gotten 2nd place several times in a row and only 1st place actually counted for the achievement. So no, it isn’t a 60% chance at all.

Did you see the ArenaNet devs do it? It was… interesting.
I did, yes. I was amused.
Personally, I love this new dungeon and the mechanics of the boss fights. It actually requires some coordination, awareness of what’s going on around you, and it provides some challenge. It certainly isn’t impossible to beat. It may not be something you beat on your first try but it’s doable. And once you figure out the fight mechanics, it should go a lot better. It definitely isn’t as impossibly hard as some in this thread (and others) have been making it out to be. It does, however, require some teamwork.
It’s just that blasted pull on those golems. That’s what makes it too frustrating.
There’s a good way to counter that: stability. Skills that can revive from a distance are also extremely useful here.
This is just the first dungeon in the game that actually requires you to pay attension to mechanics instead of just spamming to victory.
Yes you can stun and stop Mia, it is called remove the stacks of defiant.
Yes you can keep the golems from killing you, it is called don’t drag them through the laser wall
Yes you can avoid the fast laser by using the crates
Yes you can avoid the cannon fire by using movement and positioning and not just blindly dodging.once you learn the mechanics of the game you will do much better. The real problem is that after 10 months some people still don’t know how to properly position themselves or remove defiant stacks.
This. +1

I’m having the exact same problem. I bought Healing Signet and Druid’s Circle and neither ring can be infused. The Mystic Forge doesn’t even seem to recognize that they exist in my inventory. Older rings (e.g., Circle of Light) can still be infused.
And it seems we aren’t alone:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Cant-infuse-rings-anymore/first
You know that Anet is actually a business right? A place where people work to do things on top and properly, not just throwing out Quality control for the “it’s just a game” adage?
Yes. I’m aware of that. I’m just tired of people getting bent out of shape over things not always going 100% according to plan and immediately jumping to conclusions based on absolutely no information.
Also you cannot wield two of the ‘Druid;s circle’ rings’. It only lets you wield one. Please can you let us wield type types of this ring?
You can’t wear two of the same type of ascended ring because they’re unique. It states as much in part of the item description. You can’t wear two Healing Signets but you can wear a Healing Signet and a Druid’s Circle, for example. These rings have exactly the same stats. The only differences between them are the names and the type of infusion slot they have. This isn’t a bug. It’s part of how ascended items work.
There was a new build, anyone test to see if it fixed Lol?
I just checked a few minutes ago and no this hasn’t been fixed yet. Gotta give them more than an hour to address this…

If you’re looking for a George R.R. Martin or J.R.R. Tolkien level story from an MMO (or a video game in general), you’re looking in the wrong place. The lore is often fleshed out fairly well in MMOs, and GW2 is no exception to that. But the stories are often paper thin. The stories are important for getting from point A to point B. That’s about it.
Also, George R.R. Martin’s series is called A Song of Ice and Fire, not Game of Thrones. The latter is the HBO series that’s loosely based on the former. A Song of Ice and Fire is largely about the politics and the wars that result from the game of thrones the high lords are playing, but the series features more and more magic as you get deeper into the story. A Dance with Dragons has a significant amount of magic that plays a critical role in the story and sets up the last two books to have even more. The series starts with very little magic. Then the dragons are hatched and the old powers begin waking up.

Thanks for the quick response, Jason!
