how about archiving inactive threads instead of threatening to punish users?
Now that’s just silly constructive talk.
I’ve said it before, and I will repeat it here. We are aware of the problems with the WvW achievements and will be doing more to address them in the near future. Currently it is more complicated to solve the problems than I would like, which means we need to have a fully comprehensive solution before doing anything.
It was promised to change the WvW achievements for 2013 already, we are soon 8 months into 2014. I guess its save to say you wont change anything

I have to kindly request someone take over running the “ArenaNet PR Doublespeak Translator” application in my absence as I’m likely on my way to another all-expenses payed vacation to the tropical paradise of BANanaville courtesy of our fine friends at ClubAnet. Don’t forget to run the BS scanner once per week. Cheers
P.S. If you like this post, you might want to quote it as it’s likely going to…ehem…disappear very soon.
kitten Necro. I got all excited inside!

- The thing is, it’s not quite that simple. Keeping a log of the drop history of all items on every single character (or even account) is not a feasible solution. And you cannot just categorize things into “rare” and “common”, because then you’ll run into issues where people end up getting the rare items they don’t want, which is no different from the current situation. If anything, a token-based system like what we have in dungeons would be better.
I’d been recommending that in the various “precursor unfair” threads for a while now. By turning it into a Mystic Forge recipe, you can get players to invest in rares and exotics, instead of having these horribly inflated precursor prices.
Example similar to what I posted before:
Every Level 80 weapon flush at the Mystic Forge yields a Precursor Token. (Or knowing ANet, 0-3 tokens.) I’d recommend a chance at 1 for every rare and an almost-guaranteed one for every exotic, 50% and 90% respectively. It takes 250 Precursor Tokens for the recipe.
That satisfies a financial component. Spend gold (or gems) get components.
The actual recipe is done at 500 crafting for the weapon’s type. This requires similar investment to Ascended gear, and can even use Ascended materials.
Similarly to Ascended, there is a recipe as karma-purchase item.
Recipes for Ascended Dowel and specific precursor type (karma)
Precursor Inscription (Precursor Tokens) + Ascended Dowel (Ascended materials from various game participation)
Orichalcum and Ancient Wood parts (head and handle)
Kinda shorthanded it a bit at the end, but a method like the above would give slow, but guaranteed success in building a precursor. It also uses a spread of the game’s resources.
Add WvW Reward Tracks!
Anet recently added Reward Tracks to sPVP, so why not add something similar to WvW? I know Anet probably doesn’t read this forum anymore, but I figured I’d try…
Here’s to hope!
And so WvW is left to die
WvW’ers need to do dungeons (or sPvP) and map completion for their legendaries, so that’s only fair.
Heck, you’ve gotta run PvE stuff just to pay for Lemongrass. >.>
How bout playing the game, helping your server win at WvW and the caps will come naturally. I had no problem getting 100% map completion on a low tier server and I found that WvW was fun and that’s all I do now. Go play the game, don’t complain about something that is not broken.
So.. you are forced to wait. Indefinitely. For months. =/
Yeah it has been months.. wait! years for me, I still need 60%+ of map completition in pve but I don’t want to kill mobs and do quests, why don’t the quests complete themselfs for me ?, I should at least be able to go to npcs and grab the rewards of other players work.
I want my golds and my world completition NOW :O, no joking.

sorry what is CDI?
Officially = Collaborative Development Initiative. The effort on ArenaNet’s part to engage the player base in a discussion about specific topics in an effort to improve the game.
Unofficially = Confound, Derail, and Ignore. The PR campaign on ArenaNet’s part to assuage the forum users’ anger, disappointment, and frustration over the lack of response to their concerns and lack of substantive improvements and fixes to specific areas of the game by pretending to listen them. Ultimately, nothing comes of it.
Concrete example relevant to this discussion: The ability to change the color of commander tags has been requested since launch. Almost two years later and dozens of forum posts unanimously asking for this tiny little improvement (as well as discussed in a CDI, no less) and still nothing.

Hey everyone, here is a guide to getting all 30 Lost Coins for the Coin Collector achievement under Dry Top. If you were using this guide in the last couple hrs or so, please note that I have changed the numbering a bit to make the path a bit more optimized with less backtracking.
Due to the complexity and verticality of the zone layout, I find the video guide should help more than the written one but both are provided along with a map of their locations on the x and y axis.
Enjoy!
What WvW needs more than anything else is for someone at ANet to give a crap about it.
Most of the people who complain are the karma trainers who yell at anyone trying to defend.
Just saying.
I’m sure this topic has been made, however I did type the title into the search bar and came up with no results. Thus, I will pose a simple suggestion. Why not reward the players that spend extended periods of time in WvWvW on one team without transferring? I’m not saying get rid of transfers(some people have legitimate reasons for transferring). I’m just saying why not reward players who’ve logged multiple tournaments on ONE team? Or even the people who have been with their server since launch? I know it won’t stop servers from losing population, especially to higher tier servers, but atleast it will somewhat encourage players to pick a team and support it. Thoughts? “Flame suit engage”.
Why not just flip EoTM with eternal battlegrounds for a week?
Would that be that hard?
Most of the wvw playerbase has accepted their role in the grand scheme of things. It is our duty to toil on in terrible conditions week after week so that pvers can have more HP friday morning. If they gave us any sort of reward like tomes from badges we might get silly ideas about new maps.
Cause anger has been replace by apathy, people just do not care any more.
As many of you know, at least those who play on servers with lower populations. Since the addition of Mega Servers, it has become almost impossible to recruit players, and ask for assistance when it comes to World vs World. What i’m suggesting is a chat like /world /server or something of the sort that would allow you to directly communicate with players ONLY on your native server. Ever since the great migration, and the addition of Mega Servers, it has become practically impossible to ask for assistance in WvW. Half the time I am speaking to the people we’re currently versing, and am met with hostility. Why is there no such chat command to allow us to communicate with our server only? Will the Mega Server pairing ever work as it was stated when first added? I miss being able to goto Lions Arch and speak in all Caps asking for assistance and actually receiving it, instead of insults from our current match ups. Please take this into consideration and hopefully leave a response of some sort.
And what happen to players that have multiple tags already? I, for exemple, have 3.
If commander tags get account bound I want my 200g of the extra tags back.
Speak with your wallets people. Don’t buy from the gemstore until they’ve fixed the current reward issue.
We constantly see that Living Story and Gem Store issues are fixed within several hours. But when it comes to WvW, they take up to several weeks.
Or we can sit around for them to fix it, like they fixed the season 1 rewards. It’s hilarious, that every time, we complain and moan of the forums, yet we buy from the gemstore and give them money for not fixing the part of the game we care about.
-snip-
I know that not everyone will understand the humour in making light of a situation like this; but people had seriously ought to be grateful that missing WvW rewards is the pinnacle of their “to complain about” agenda.
Cool story, you live in a country that sells firearms at a corner shop to any man and their untrained dog. Does it honestly surprise you when those scenarios end up happening? Because it shouldn’t.
Maybe some people are having a rough patch at the moment, and the one thing they were looking forward to was the end of the season rewards. And ANet let them down by not testing the content long beforehand (they never test anything).
So maybe this isn’t the only thing they have to complain about, maybe its one of many things. It’s common knowledge games can be used to escape and get some personal space from other issues that are out of your control. Maybe their last bastion of positivity was GW2, who knows? And ANet let them down again. So they complained.
Just because someone complains about something like this doesn’t mean its their ONLY problem in life. Remember this well.
Edit: There’s two “Hyperions”, this just got confusing.

At least the live stream told us how fantastically well the swiss matchup system worked.
@OP: No way. This is a horrible idea. The fun part of WvW is seeing the same faces every day, whether they are in the same guild or not. Mega servers has destroyed that sense of community in PvE and I’d hate to see that same thing happen in WvW.
Server identity and server pride for example, some may agree and some not. Guesting could work and that without any real issues really, i.e You guest an alliance who play on D server, your home is B server, and enter wvw with your 30 man group. You all get wxp and karma n all but the only benefit for the D server comes from the players who reside on the D server, all other xp earned from the grp don’t add up D servers points.
My personal thoughts are simply, I keep server pride close at heart just for old times sake, being involved in mmo’s sine early 2000 where server pride meant just about everything. But that’s just my 2 cents.
Drives me crazy – especially the ‘sorry to spam you’ ones!! Well, I’m not sorry to report you, you stinking low life hackers.
