Give 2H weapons 2 infusion slots

in Crafting

Posted by: mexay.3902

mexay.3902

So in order for simple balance, the following change needs to happen for ascended and legendary weapons:

Either;

Two-handed weapons are given two infusion slots to compensate for using dual 1h items (or infusion on two handed weapons gaining +10 instead of +5)

OR

Only 1 one-handed weapon’s infusion may work.

Unless this is implemented then we will see an imbalance, particularly with fractals and dual wielders have a higher AR than two 1 handed weapons. I’m concerned this hasn’t been implemented, but if it is not it is highly imbalanced as hell.

This must happen to provide fairness in fractals. 5AR is often the difference between life and death at level 48. It adds up to a whole 6% per tick.

I strongly encourage ArenaNet developers to review and implement this change if it isn’t in the update. This is of crucial importance for fractals balance.

You’ll have to explain to me why most lodestones and other commodities have fallen in price by 30-50% with all this inflation.

I made more Cores/Lodestones in the last week, than I made within the last 6 months.
Guess that is the reason.

Why full berserker and full offense?

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong but the only unavoidable damage in this game is in lava and jade maw’s agony. Now assuming a player is skilled enough to avoid all decent sized damage, that renders defensive stats to be a complete waste. In a thief’s case, with the help of our monstrous arsenal of evades, black powder for trash mobs, signet of malice, and life steal food, surviving any encounter in full berserkers without ever going down is entirely possible and actually fairly easy to do. In fact it actually becomes easier to survive in berserkers when the content becomes progressively harder (fractals) because the mobs hit harder and will more then likely kill you nearly instantly whether your in full sentinels or full berserkers.

Events were designed to be completed. They were not designed to be intentionally left to fail so that players can farm for a longer duration, that is called exploiting.

You have nothing to worry about. Toxic farmers were raging at you because you threatened to ruin their gold per hour. Complete all the events you please but be prepared to receive backlash from angry gold farmers.

It`s not bannable to complete events. It`s just people being idiots with the new champion loot. The community went from nice to being total kittens. I saw someone call someone else a kittenbag for killing the Champion Spider in Queensdale just before. Map chat went from being helpful to just one giant zerg calling champions out.

One of the best things and one of the worst things Anet has done in a while.

Juclesia Elcritian.8410

Just like the Karka Queen, this event is rarely done due to it’s ridiculous requirements…

Doing the Group Event for the Champion Risen Captain THREE TIMES with a 10 min wait inbetween each of them is absolutely crazy. No one is gonna stay for that unless they know that’s the condition to spawn the meta chain.

It’s completely unintuitive. Please change it somehow… reduce the required repeats of the pre-event to 1 at least.

Also, the fact that soloers can do 90% of the pre-event but not the champion himself, leads to the event being hidden from the rest of the passerbys: this is due to the fact that the champion spawns in the basement of the ship where barely any random people find it.

The problem with people demanding zerker

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: CuteLilKittenHugz.2064

CuteLilKittenHugz.2064

The problem is NOT that people demand zerker gear for Dungeon runs. They are perfectly allowed to want to run with only certain builds.

The problem is that Anet sees it as a problem.

There was absolutely no need to eliminate MF. Players who demand to run with full zerker gear already had a solution: they simply didn’t allow players with non-zerker gear to run with them. There’s tons and tons of people who don’t demand zerker gear so you could always find another group. Problem solved, no other action required.

When Anet sees some aspect of the game that a minority of players but very vocal minority complain about, they change the entire freakin game on ALL players. That is the recipe for failure we keep seeing.

There’s absolutely no need to change the entire game to appease people who strictly PvP, or who do Dungeons, or who do Fractals, or who strictly do WvW (and the last thing you should be wearing in WvW is full zerker gear).

But instead of implementing changes that allow everyone to play how they like, Anet constantly forces everyone to play the way the most vocal comlpainers want to play the game.

I liked farming in PvE with heavily-statted MF gear, and once in a while I played a dungeon. When I did, I was the guy staying alive the most while I had to rez zerkers. Now I’m being told I can’t play the game the way I enjoyed because one group QQ’d a bunch. Same thing happened with my ele alt because PvP players kept QQing about how “powerful” eles were. Anet nerfed the ele until they are pretty much useless in all aspects of the game.

People are allowed to complain. But for the sake of all that is fun in this game, Anet PLEASE stop screwing the majority to appease the minority.

Looks to be another very bland content patch.

I was unaware that adding a new area in DR (Reperation in the Great Divide is underway) With easy access to everything ,

“Unlimited” salvaging ,
New weapon and armors ,
Treasure hunting ,
Guild message of the day (something people wanted since release)
PvP Dishonorable + Leaderboard ,
Game optimization , the ability to limit particule effects (something people wanted since release) ,
LFG tool ,

Was bland .

New district in DR does nothing for me. I never go to DR. They could add a “Flying Unicorn” Vendor to DR and I would not go.

“Unlimited Salvaging” …is nothing but a gimmick that will cost you more than it will save. Think of it more like “Emergency Salvage” rather than “Unlimited Salvage”. Because that is truly all it is.

“GMotD and PvP Dishonorable/Leaderboards” – I don’t join guilds and the only PvP I like is solo roaming WvW.

“Treasure Hunting”…is going to be as abysmal as “Archaeology” was to WoW.

“Game Optimizations” Seriously, go buy a gaming rig and stop playing on a laptop. That’s what I have to say for graphics optimizations.

“LFG Tool” – I don’t run group dungeons/fractals. As a matter of fact, I don’t group up at all.

So yeah….nothing for me in those notes.

Hey, you play the wrong genre. You should play singleplayer RPGs not massively multiplayer online RPGs.

It’s kind of a shame that people like you aren’t a minority anymore and shape the direction of mmorpgs..

They give you rewards for achievements, they get slapped in the face.

They try to give you things to work for, they get slapped in the face.

They try to give you content tidbits to do every couple of weeks, they get slapped in the face.

They try to make a more challenging dungeon, they get slapped in the face.

They try to give you more mini-games a change of pace, they get slapped in the face.

They try responding positively to the harassment on these boards, they get slapped in the face.

Wow, people, just wow. I am ashamed to be even remotely considered associated with the majority of this community.

I realize this is a game, and we all have things we would like. I realize this is ‘teh internetz’ but when and why has that ever made it ok to be a self absorbed, pretentious kitten?! That is not ok, and I think its about time that some people learned some manners (and I seriously think the forum moderators need to enforce it)!

If you don’t like what they are giving you… fine, you say thank you with grace and move on. You find something else to do in the game, or you find a different game that is more to your taste. You don’t start rolling around on the ground in a tantrum like a spoiled toddler, demanding that you be given what ‘you want.’ Many of you claim to be older, mature adults….start acting like it!

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

Terminally Ill, Saying "Thank You" to GW2

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Palu.3405

Hello dear members of the GW2 community,

Recently I discovered that I’m terminally ill and I’m not sure how long I have left so I felt compelled to say “thank you” to all the fantastic members of the GW2 community for almost a year of amazing gameplay unlike anything else I’ve experienced in all the MMOs I’ve ever played. I’m sure most of you probably don’t recognize me and probably don’t care about this post, but between Fractals, other dungeons, and WvW roaming, I can say with confidence that I’ve never enjoyed a game as much as GW2. If you’ve played on or against Maguuma in WvW, you’ve probably seen me at some point. I’m the one Sylvari condition Mesmer in Nightmare armor who, since launch, has refused to play anything but a condition Mesmer. I want to extend a special thanks to the WvW community, since that’s where I’ve spent most of my time in-game. I’ve always been a roamer, so whether I’ve killed you, you’ve killed me, or we’ve fought alongside one another, thank you for a fantastic PvP experience. I’ve repped either <removed by moderator> the entire time I’ve been in WvW (do note that there are multiple guilds with those abbreviations) and have always been on Maguuma.

While I’ll probably still play from time to time, I’m spending most of my time with irl friends and family. All I want to do here is say thank you and ask for the community’s solidarity in this difficult time.

I posted a similar thread on the GW2 Reddit with more details about my condition and why I’m leaving, so if you’d like to know more you can PM me or read the thread on Reddit.

EDIT: The Reddit link apparently doesn’t work, here’s the Reddit post in a word document.
[link removed by moderator]

Sincerely,

Palu Wojciak of Maguuma

Armorsmith stuck because wool scraps are rare

in Crafting

Posted by: Ellisande.5218

Ellisande.5218

You can always buy from Trading post. If you do your research on TP, you can even find cheaper crafted armor parts than crafting by yourself.

I’d rephrase that slightly since it seems that you’re telling him to buy the armor when he’s trying to level.
Sometimes some of the intermediary parts in crafting are significantly cheaper than the cost of the mats to make them.
Find those and buy em.

You’re both completely missing the very important point the opener is making.

A player should be able to level a crafting discipline completely off of what the player can acquire while leveling up normally without having to go too out of the way to collect mats.

The problem is that one of the mats needed to level up the crafting discipline is exceedingly rare and this is a problem that Anet has to fix by either making wool a gatherable material or greatly increasing the drop rate of items that become wool or by making mobs drop wool directly. They also need to greatly increase the drop rate of the other items needed to craft as well. I spent 3 hours killing mobs to get mats to level up armorsmithing and had the exact problem as the opener. Plus I would add that I only got enough of the other mats needed to make emblems to make about 4 emblems total of 3 different types (2 of one type, 1 of another type and 1 of another type).

This is a problem of Anet’s making and a player should not have to resort to the auction house to try getting over a problem that Anet should have been able to solve during the Alpha state let alone beta. The whole point of leveling up a crafting discipline is so that you don’t have to worry about spending money on gear. When you have to buy mats off the auction house to make that gear then the entire point of crafting is completely ruined as it is here and therefore requires a fix.

This isn’t the only craft which has this problem. Anet never should have tied crafting to rare drops the way they did.

Hi,

So we’ve created this thread so that players can share with us their concrete data about any perceived strange drop behavior they encounter. Please be as accurate as possible, reporting only concrete data that you’ve experienced first hand. Among the information we’re interested in: map where you played, creatures you fought that dropped items, recipes from the Mystic Forge that you used.

Thanks for your understanding and help!

Do you realize how condescending this comes across as? First, putting the words ‘concrete data’ in this comment… Concrete? what do you consider concrete? The fact that I can farm in Orr, and not get a single drop in over a dozen of my first kills? When I haven’t played that toon in 3-4 days? Or the fact that once I put MF food on, it changed to one in about 6 kills? How is it concrete?

And when you add the words you put in quote marks to the word ‘perceived’, you just sound like you are slapping all of us in the face. The fact that you say concrete tells me that you can dismiss any PERCEIVED data of ours by calling it ‘inconclusive’.

The FACT that so many of us are discovering the same things, over and over, all over the map (Like just taking on the Claw of Jormag and getting 4 blues and 2 greens (one gem and one Medallion of the Rabid. The most common medallion in the game. On a dragon. But you can dismiss it as not concrete, and that I only perceive that is all I got.

I’ve experienced a drastic decrease in rare drops across all maps, but particularly in Orr. MF ranges from 0 to 150, as it seems to make little difference for my drop rates currently. If a rare drops it is consistently within my first 15 minutes of logging on, even if I switch maps and types of instances (e.g., Orr to Malchor to WvW). I haven’t received a rare from a chest in at least my last 15 PVE events. Dungeons seem a little better.

Previously I could receive from 1 to 4 rares in one event in Orr. I have not seen a rare in a single Orr event since Nov. 15th, and I’ve run hundreds.

EDIT: Champs/vets rarely drop loot, never rares. The loot situation has had a major impact on my enjoyment of the game.
