Do you not like spaming conditions?
What did you expect? Well-telegraphed and avoidable attacks with a fair risk/reward game-play?
Wrong game bro. Active combat died a while ago. Now it’s all about applying conditions vs. removing them.
When using the right mouse button for “steering”, the “About Face” (turn 180 degrees) keybind does not function.
I’ll throw my 2 cents in that I really do like the fact that it roots you for the cast. It definitely gives the skill a feeling of weight and purpose. This really isn’t the problem at all, the problem is it feels like it has weight and purpose…and doesn’t.
A larger radius and either the channeled idea or enhanced damage/boon stripping/w/e would be perfect.
Welcome to Condition Wars 2. You would have really enjoyed your time with Perplexity Runes 1.0.
The days of active combat have been gone for a while now, but this patch was the nail in the coffin. Join the condition bunkers with their passive, no risk/high reward game-play or gtfo.

much this . . . .
oddly this skill used to just be an instant cast on target, it was changed to be Ground Targeted, and as hard as it is to land on a moving foe, i rarely use it when i run GS.
TBH i often forget its there at all..
A simple revert to Cast on target would give this skill a lot more mileage imo.
“Gw2, It’s still on the Table!” – Anet
The people saying the system is already biased are correct btw.
Do keep in mind it’s a bias though. The tab-target searches by proximity, going further out the more you tab. The search seems to “look ahead” a bit before targetting an AI companion though, to see whether a player is there.
You search for the real one, deselect the current clone, and then click on the real mesmer.
Why would you need a button for the deselect then? Why not just, you know, select the Mesmer?
Guild Wars 1 was filled with cheap gimmicks, and it definitely had hard counters. I understand the anger many Guild Wars 1 players feel toward Guild Wars 2, but this seems like a really bizarre thread to lash out in.
Because in GW1 hard counters A. generally had a massive downside that made them require team play to be effective, B. were few and far between compared to the soft counter skills, and C. weren’t just passive get out of jail free cards or iwin buttons, they were actually interesting to use and required thought to use correctly. In GW2 it’s just flat out lazy design and really exemplifies how little thought is put into this game and how much it caters to the lowest common denominator who need their build to win for them as opposed to winning themselves.
Rock Paper Scissors per class is bad for a game
Rock Paper Scissors per skill should be the goal
every counter should have a counter and all classes should have the Rock Paper and Scissors – not only rock paper OR Scissor
what im talking about is
player 1 heals
player 2 can counter with interrupt, poison or damage
player 1 can counter the counter with stability, condiremove or protection
player 2 can counter this with boonremove, more condis or boonremove^^
boonremove maby should be effected by blind to have another counter but this would be next thema
what im talking about is skills need counters – not classes
thx
Seems like the Phantasmal Disenchanter is bugged too. The tooltip says it clears 2 conditions and 2 boons while having 5 bounces.
With or without IE it bounced only 4 times and it didn’t matter whether it was clones and one enemy or more enemies. Phantasmal Mage and IE is still working though.
Ok, so…
- No Illusionary Elasticity fix.
- iWarden broken once more.
- No promised portal indicator.
Phantasmal Haste still not working (I tried my best but saw no difference; anyone to confirm?)Okay, seems to work, simply not countable without a stopwatch.
No gems to you, ANet. (Again).

I guess lyssa nerf, arcing arrow, pin down, merc hammer, healing signet etc don’t count. Warriors are easier to take down while still being effective at wha they’re built for. Only thing that needs a nerf now is the size of longbow F1, other than that, hambow is fine without being worthless. Stun also only applies to the f1, not knock downs.
(FYI, I don’t play warrior.)
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
yes please, 95% of the time when I’m bored in Wow I hang outside of Org and duel while (95% of the time I’m bored in gw2 I log off. Just give the option to deny all duels for people who r against it.
Not bad for an April’s Fools thread, but really, crying about one of the bottom classes? Really?
I think past the rank 55, it becomes practically impossible to keep getting better from repeating the SAME THING over and over again.
Eternity~!
I take the r40 over r70. Pvp is filled with ‘not so friendly’ (to keep it civil) players. The higher the rank (most of the time), the unfriendlier they are. Unfriendly is very broad, and actually big pun intended here. I’m not gonna do in details to prevent flaming, but a lot of pvp people could learn a thing or two about being polite.
No excuse anymore for not giving ‘hide mounts’-option
No thanks to unidentified weapons.
It’ll affect condi survivability/soldiers dps
Not losing much sleep over this TBH
Maybe some Mesmer condition damage too…

The current rank progress should remain the same.
The changes are not wanted by anyone who takes pvp seriously. Casuals will be happy, yay for them. People that spent a lot of time on this will get the middle finger. This is not okay.
How has this thought process worked out for the pvp community so far? Clearly not very good.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
At least now people will get to find out that the main problem with decap is NOT AR. All this does is help make condi spam more viable.
Prediction: Decap engi will still be incredibly strong.
I had tears in my eyes; they are finally doing it. After all the crying and complaining we are moving in the right direction.
I probably shouldn’t be reading the forums at 10:45 on a Friday night….but I am.
1) Thanks for talking about this in such a constructive manner. A lot of you guys are bringing up great points with highly cogent logic. I like. I like how you’re bringing up possible issues in multiple game types as well, kudos for espousing a holistic point of view.
2) There are going to be a lot of changes, as we’ve stated before on the 15th. The meta will probably shift a lot for many areas of the game, so we’ll have to see how things shake out.
3) Please keep the talking open, rational, and with as little salt as possible – you guys are rocking. We are listening, and I’ll check this thread next week to see how the conversation goes.
Thanks for keeping it civil.
/Chapout
will you be prepared to remove it on a moments notice if the majority want it removed its pritty clear we don’t want it now and with the meta getting a good shake it might not be that bad but if it doesn’t pan out the way you would like it to will anet be prepared to remove it quickly or will it be some balance patch 6-9 months later?
DE should be a class feature and not traited at all. Only then will build diversity open up for mesmers. It doesn’t matter if you don’t like the sound of that, it’s the truth.
Only thing that is OP is skills that have BOTH Stability AND Stun Break, IMO.
No one would equip a skill that only removes a stun and not an immob.
Space Marine Z [GLTY]

Guard, warrior, mesmer, ele, etc, all have access to long duration stability.

1 utility slot for two 2s stability with a 2s recharge time between them, on a 25s cooldown, and takes 2 3/4s channel when you can to recharge the two mantra charges?
Holy kitten, mesmer stability so OP!!!!!!
IP should not be moved.
The underlying concept of grandmaster traits was supposed to be that they are build defining traits. As it happens, very few traits actually fit this description, but IP is one of the few that does. Taking IP defines your build. That is why it is a grandmaster.
Power lock, confounding suggestions, PU, even shattered conditions and restorative illusions are all great grandmasters in theory because they are build defining. As it turns out, those last two only define horrible builds, but it’s the concept that counts for this discussion.
Weaker grandmasters are things like the dueling traits. No build is defined by a boring % boost or a random quickness proc.
So, IP is fine where it is. It fits the concept of the line that it’s in, it fits the concept of a grandmaster trait.
Why is this in the profession balance forums?
Regardless, /signed
not before adding /flex. ;(

It adds much needed offense against Warriors. It counters their flee skill.
