Congratulations on only reading the very bottom.
What I meant is that the discrepancies you mention are mechanical in nature, not lore-based in nature, even if they effect your suspension of disbelief.
As I said, in lore, the sylvari do grow their own armor and weapons just as they grow their houses. Similarly, races do move at different speeds. But because mechanics must balance all players equally, these things are not how they would be in lore. Same goes for the scale of the open world – lore wise, you would not be able to go from the westernmost part of Brisban Wildlands to the easternmost part of Fields of Ruin within a couple hours via speedboosts while on foot. But in the game, you very much can. Such a thing is not a lore discrepancy or lore issue, it is mechanical in nature which is what I meant when describing what you were posting.
The SAB is something completely different on every level of comparison. It is not something that happens differently between mechancis and lore. It is something that exists as we experience it in the lore. And THAT is the problem.
There are cases of lore breaking, and then there are cases of immersion breaking. Your list wall of text of questions is the latter, the complaints in this thread (and about Scarlet) is the former.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

I, myself, never said that it is lorebreaking.
I just said that the entire thing is joke content. And it should remain as such. IMO, joke content should remain as non-canon. This update makes SAB 100% canon.
And in that, it becomes lore. And in that, it breaks the feel of the lore/story for me.
Though I would say Gandarel overacts to the nth degree with his complaint of 8-bit weapons. I mean, come on, look at all the other weapons we got. There’s a pistol with freaking rotating saws in the barrel – the thing would cut your finger off if you try to put your finger on the trigger, let alone fire. The weapons and armors in both games have remained unrealistic since Prophecies.
Again, it is completely SEPARATED from the rest of the world. It is like if, I don’t know, Eir called you for a random hunt and you killed a bunny. Irrelevant for the rest of the story. Completely unrelated to the story line, just something that someone did in their free time.
This is where you’re wrong. It’s part of the world’s story – as opposed to previous April Fool’s joke that was there and disappeared, never commented upon lore, because it wasn’t canon.
This content update makes it officially canon.
And that’s the problem. It’s 100% joke content, made part of canon lore. It’s something meant for a comedy, put into a game that is actually a rather serious plot if you manage to get past all the other pop culture references (well overdone IMO, but they were in Nightfall too – thankfully in Nightfall, they were all part of side quests not the main plot). SAB is far from the worst offender in the pop culture references, but turning it into actual canon lore is not exactly an improvement.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

<3 hobotron, I wish I had an option to give him a silver. Sure, he’ll go spend it on polishing oil and crystal ointment, but that’s irrelevant.
The thing you have to realize is most people who pick up an MMO will never choose a beast race willingly. It’s a head scratcher myself but people choose to play humans because they are humans. It probably has to do with immersion- and just over all comfort towards content.
For me, Guild wars got it right. Charr are a true beast race, they aren’t cat men, they aren’t furries, and they arent women with animal heads. Anatomically they are beautiful in ways I have only seen in pen to paper artwork- Yeah, we got a little shafted with armor- but after years of tauren, and worgen, and other ‘boobied’ beast races- I cannot say enough about how much I love charr design.
They didn’t cave in where most mmo’s did, females weren’t forced into a ‘sensual’ sexual dimorphism- and charr females were given fitting lore to explain their place in charr society, for this very reason they aren’t objectified- they are equal to males in every way, except to the flame legion.
ANet tracks which maps we’ve done (They need to for the Achievement), yet doesn’t display this to the user.
Poor UI design, plain and simple.
During the speech, Logan will give birth to hundreds of mini queen jenna’s and the minis will walk toward 1 year old players.
Fix’d
There’s a trait in the acrobatics tree for thieves called Fleet of Foot. Even if you get whacked by liadri’s lunge attack you can dodge to remove cripple and weakness.
Liadri with a thief is easy. You have no excuse for giving up.
Yeah I do. I actually have a few:
- I don’t care about AP.
- I don’t care about the minipet.
- I don’t care about titles.
- Zerging and getting phat lootz is more fun and rewarding to me.
Because of these four excuses, I feel its better for me if I just didn’t even try anymore.
chronomancer pls. now. waiting for it for years..

It’s a Theam park all right, unfortunately it seems to have gone Westworld on us!
Evon and Abbadon are my choices hands down, too much interesting lore. Also, Kiel seems like a rather dull goody-two-shoes and having Evon on captains’ counsel may provide for some more interesting plot twists.
If ya don’t like it, don’t play it. But it can’t be useless seeing that most Engis I see in PvP use it. (Including me)
just because you can use your “builds” in a stunted environment with rules and restrictions…doesn’t make it good. It just makes it the least affected skills among others that would wipe the floor with you in wvw or even pve. I mean really, can you really affect the FT in pvp where most skills, traits, and abilities including stuff like food or sigils and jewlery are already stunted?

Hey everybody.
We had to delete several postings in here, as the conversation got unhealthy. We strongly recommend to keep the conversation healthy and constructive, otherwise we will have to lock this thread.

Welcome to the game. The guild wars wiki has far more information of events prior to guild wars 2. It’s a great read.
This is probably already a subject that is posted serveral times. The Engineer is a very interesting class. And in my opinion, a class unique to Guild Wars 2. Sadly the Class is underpowered.
There were to major keypoints brought up to play Engineer:
Kits and Turrets.
While we have many problems with the class the major one is Turrets. And this topic is all about ideas to make it better. And hopefully a Shout-out to members of the Arenanet team to let us know what kind of ideas they have for Turrets and the global future of the Engineer.
So what kind of ideas should make the Turrets better?
Survivability
No-Damage
Make it so Turrets don’t get damage at all. Turrets get blasted out to soon and there is nothing you can do about it. Turrets should be a skill that stays a moment and can be used on different places.
To counter the god-mode of the Turrets is that they only stay online for like 1 minute. This way you can’t spam them. And they are actually used for something.
Merg Traits and change them
Make the Metal Plating and Autotool Installation merge and make it so that instead of 30% less damage dealt on turrets. Change it to be a double amount of health or make it so that your healing power/Thoughness/Vitalty an percentage of it gives the damage reduction, more health and more healing per second. Make it so that they are part of us.
The Walking Turrets
Gives us a new trait which make us able to augment the turrets with spider-like, legs. They move with us like pets. This way they survive, hopefully, more AoE attacks and we are less grounded by the Cooldowns of the Turret skills.
Global
Give the turrets better AI, let them attack the same person we are targetting. Not that we are fighting the boss and my turret decides that a crystal is more scary.
These are just examples. I am going to post more later on. But I want to play some Aetherblade now. I like to know what you guys think and what your ideas are.
