I just find this so sad but still sorta hilarious. People have been begging for any kind of information and finally there’s a nice dev out there talking to us but behold! The GW2 community that doesn’t seem to operate under any kind of logical laws, strikes yet again! Angrymob equipped with pitchforks and torches making sure that no dev will be posting here or on Reddit after this. Wohoo! Praise the Great Lord Flame Ram and pass the ketchup!
Lmao so true, everyone complains about no dev response, but when they do they get screamed at by immature adults who want EVERYTHING to be perfect and their way. I hate people
Yeah. It’s super immature and unreasonable to expect the official guild wars 2 forum to be used for any sort of official communication. Obviously our expectations are too high. You’re so right, and your assessment of the playerbase is in no way insulting or offensive! Thanks for showing me the error of my ways!
Why on earth would devs respond to unreasonable people who are only going to bash on them if they try to communicate? Also, insulting the player base? All the forums have been is constant complaints, negativity, etc. But calling them complainers is insulting, maybe you should take a break from the internet if that’s offensive. Thanks
Regards, Hakuna

You want a list of proposals I’ve made that’ve been added to this game? It’s not short.
I speak Dev very well. I’m also pretty decent at articulating to and for players.
Articulation, sure, you can write sentences good. But are you communicating the most effectively? On this thread you’ve been nothing but abrasive and insulting and I think we all remember a not-so-long ago issue with the release of certain messages from DnT to the community that didn’t go over extraordinarily well. Whether or not you had anything to do with that is irrelevant if your statements about the chain of command in posting are true; what matters is the end result.
Ever heard the saying that you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar? It’s accurate in regards to interacting with people too.

If you scroll down he states that he’s going to post here too but chose Reddit first because he’s more comfortable with the format.

Evan can you not see how much of a problem this is?
Leagues were not ready. PvP was not ready for leagues. Can we have PvP leagues when it’s ready?
WvW ranks are account bound.
Masteries are account bound.
Ascended and Legendary Gear are account bound.
PvP rank is account bound.
Something is not adding up with the explanation …………
Lol. There is a ranger build that doesn’t use staff and you can go in AF every 10 secs with 4 secs left on the cele state icon if you leave it pretty early on after using 1 skill. Not going to tell you guys the build because it’s funny watching all of you QQ. AF is fine as it is. On ANY build. It should be your “oh kitten” button. Nothing more. Play the core ranger as intended with the perks of cele state. That’s how you should view it.
spirits need to be 10 target cap , to solve all these issues.
ANet….. what are you even doing right now?
It wasn’t gated enough, so a cooldown was added AND it drained out of combat, which was too much of a gate.
The out of combat draining of astral force was logically removed because celestial form was nearly inaccessible.
Blah blah other overtuned heavy handed nerfs blah blah.
Undocumented change to healing sources that previously didn’t add Astral Force start adding Astral Force. Now, instead of reviewing that change, let’s just gate Celestial Form worse than when it was draining out of combat.
There must be just this massive list of kittenty ideas you plan on throwing at us every other week, isn’t there?
Sigh, that’s why I’ve been absent for these past few weeks. I just can’t take this “throw kitten at the fan and then run up and smear it so that ALL OF IT sticks” balancing philosophy.
It’s basically the “in combat” astral force generation all over again, except worse, because it’s use is further gated to a specific scenario beyond just being in combat. If you can’t see how bad of a design that is, then I highly suggest scrapping your entire development team that signed off on this change and hiring some of us here (like me, I’m a programmer) that actually play the game and understand how to not totally kitten over a class every time I think up a change.
Please revert this change, and then stop touching the class unless your name reads Irenio, and Irenio, you should be submitting a list of potential changes through us to get feedback before you even put the code work into them to make them go live in case they are world class kitten ideas like this one so that you can save yourself the time and energy when they are ideas like this recent implementation.

What kills me is when two druids got together in WvW a while back and no one could kill them, yet they were not killing any one either – Every one screamed nerf!
I saw two mesmers get together and decimate a map but that is ok. I just don’t get it.

The funny thing is Druid is the class that got nerfed the most time since HoT, yet it’s not even the class that get complained about being OP.
Yet DH is fine, Reaper is fine, Scrapper is fine, and Druid got nerfed to oblivion.
Anet really want ranger to be the bottom class all along. So obvious.
The proof is they still haven’t fix the “put in combat bug” on staff 3, yet they keep on nerfing and breaking other mechanic. Hypocrisy to the maximum Irene.
From one extreme to another. Anet’s balancing act for anything Ranger is hilarious.
Will update once Path of Fire releases.
Ha ha, maybe they’ll eventually find a nice balance. In the meantime, I’ll leave you with this: Ele does not need to generate AF to run support and heal allies…
Illustrious Exhausted Primordial Legendary Druid, and Mesmer for fun
PvE | PvP (1500)| WvW | Fractals | Dungeons
Why would they take an awkward skill and make it even more awkward??
Out of touch comes to mind. Broke class is another. To give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe just a missed bug. Although I lean more towards the opening statement and the are out of touch.
Johnny Johnny – Ranger (Ehmry Bay)
Hárvey Wallbanger – Alt Warrior (Ehmry Bay)
HAHAHAHAA…you rangers got another nerf. Just abandon the class already.
Why would they take an awkward skill and make it even more awkward??
it doesn’t surprise me this happened…they had a reputation for drama in WoW too

publicly shamed one of their own guildmates back in the day
The bigger picture that nobody is paying attention to here is the the culture of Anet employees harassing and bullying the players. Despite the fact that team leads and people you EXPECT to be protecting the customers are the ones involved.
The big picture that nobody is paying attention to?
Basically DnT was invited to help with organizing a party and they drank all the alcohol before the party had even started.
The party peeps who just showed up are wondering where the booze is and Anet is in their right to point at DnT who are clearly still hoarding the empty bottles on the couch over there.

DnT has shown with the way they gave themselves props to not to fit the requirements of what Anet is looking for. The privilege was given to DnT to participate in the beta testing and they are in their right to take it away too. Anet is allowed to share their concerns and are basically letting people know what they’re expecting from future testers.
I personally may not care much for world firsts but I have a bunch of guild members that enjoy the competitive aspect of the games by either participating in spvp, speeds runs or world firsts.
There is a lot of pride at stake and people are just feel cheated, this is something a lot of players have been working towards and have looked forward to doing.
Not to mention, this conversation has been going for a while and lets be real… a lot of players had already openly expressed their concerns with how the raid testing was handled. If DnT wanted to be a classy guild and earn the respect of the community they should have done what they could to help the community with achieving their world first kills and not claim it for themselves.

as it was VERY clear from their point of view that everyone knew that they were in fact invited as testers for the raids.
No where in any of their earlier Tweets did they mention anything about them being testers. From any normal point of view, taking it at face value, it was simply this: A guild cleared GW2’s anticipated raid content in a few hours. Rest assured, those tweets were forwarded everywhere. I even read comments from friends from other games (Like World of Warcraft) laughing about how the raid was cleared instantly.
Just because you “get it” doesn’t mean most won’t. Nike, or whoever was trolling their Twitter, should have had more respect for the content and the work that went into it. They never would have been able to do or say those things without being trusted as raid testers, and yet they did this anyways, even harming the image of the raid itself since it was touted as challenging content.
If you don’t understand this, then there’s really nothing to convince you otherwise.

Anyone who thinks this was abusive on Anets part is obviously a pleb. DnT got exactly what they deserved. Its about time Anet stops rolling over for the sake of PR.
i dont think Anet is in the wrong at all. DnT, mainly Nike, was being immature and downright rude. If the forum started talking about it or if DnT got control of the forum first it would be hard to stop. Anet bringing attention to it early and publicly should settle this faster. Behind closed doors DnT couldve weasled out but this way a major part of the community can back Anet.
Were basically playing politics with a video game here.
Main Mesmer PVE, Necro and Engineer PVP
/15characters…..
Too soon.
I think what DnT did was very immature, and intentionally so. But, I don’t think Anet handled this too well.
I disagree, I think they handled it perfectly. Nike was acting like an idiot and that kind of thing should not be tolerated in a professional environment. They got to test the raids, the very least they could have done is stayed quiet and let people play it before gloating about being the best things ever. If Anet doesn’t want to associate with people like that, good on them!
I thought it was obvious that by accepting early access in order to help make the raids better, they were relinquishing any rights to claim world first? Did I miss something?
They did get world first. Probably not the one they wanted though.
World first dropkicked for being massive kittenheels.
I’m glad Anet did this. After coming from 10 years of WoW’s raiding community where world-first guilds were placed on pedestals, forgiven repeatedly for blatant exploits, and other toxic community ‘contributions’ stomping out this kind of selfish elitism when your company offered them an open-handed invitation to help shape future content of the game….
Yes. Warranted. We don’t want this garbage here. Not again.
It doesn’t look good for Anet if the guild they gave privileged access to is trolling the community on release day.
No probably not but would have thought the mature reaction would be to talk to the guild behind closed doors. It doesn’t look like they broke the NDA or anything.
The rest of us know nothing about the terms of the NDA. They very well could have been in violation of it with what they did.
They didn’t do anything to break any NDA.
They simply took every opportunity to make Anet look bad by presenting the new raid content as much easier than it is in reality.
A raid that is beaten in “15 minutes” on day one is a joke. That’s not respectable by anyone who does raids in other games and sounds too easy even to people who don’t.
It also looks incredibly kittenty to also claim that others are “salty” that they beat it first when they had a massive handicap given to them. That’s childish and clearly not something Anet wants to be associated with.
I’ve never experienced a stronger rush of schadenfreude in my whole life. I don’t experience it often, but woah. Almost as good as a turkey-and-mayo sandwich.
