I wholeheartedly agree with the OP. This toxic stacking environment is ruining my immersion. I go into a dungeon and I expect to be able to play my class as it was intended. Why should I, as a RANGER be forced to stand in melee range with my LONGbow? It’s called *long*bow for a reason, it’s because it’s meant to be used at long range. I can understand that my bear pet needs to melee, but that doesn’t mean I have to. Seriously sick of the elitism that is rife in dungeon parties these days, the community has really gone downhill.

Back at release I never had trouble getting into groups but now it’s just stupid. They don’t care about me at all, and I’ve had enough. When they’re all on the ground complaining about not enough dps, I’m the last one standing and I alone am ressing them. I have been standing outside of the stack every time and playing as the game was intended and what thanks do I get? A swift kick. Now I understand that there’s a ‘meta’ now, so yes, I have adapted.

I now use a whiptail devourer for the pet because everybody dislikes bears so much. I have really gone the distance to satisfy people here while still staying true to what my class is supposed to be. I even used Search and rescue to res people when their stack dies. I have done nothing but play for the sake of other people since day 1 but nobody care, they are all incredibly selfish. Enough is enough, Arena Net has to make the changes because I’m done making changes to my game play for the sake of other people.

An interesting change in habits of some dungeon crawlers has been reported by the krytan authorities: yesterday, at approximately 10pm local time, an heterogeneous group of elitists, game younglings and drug dealers started a “pro GuangMath” party that lasted for most of the night and involved a disturbingly high amount of engineers, some of them naked… causing noise and trouble in the fractals of the mists.

It is believed that the partecipants – most of them are renown members of our community – were under the effect of alcohol or other illicit substances; when questioned, the well-known Tequatl commander – and strong advocator of magi gear on dungeon guardians – Nosferatu said: “’Cause engi best personal deeps! You scrubs”. He then attempted to assault our cameracat with a bottle of beer. We’re glad to announce he failed. Nosferatu is currently on detention and has been infracted.
Our reporter also tried to interview the notorious Spojbob Engipants, revered by our country for achieving… unspecified things; he didn’t seem to understand the questions and instead giggled madly for the duration of the encounter, shouting disconnected claims such as “Engi new meta” or “I’m so op, look at the bleeds”.
During the interview, another party’s partecipant was roaming the field on his bare skin, dancing and announcing his undying love for engineers and the spreadsheets that allowed him to discover such a precious dps class. He then shouted “MUSHROOMS” and threw himself down a cliff. He’s currently being treated at the Lion’s Arch field hospital; his identity is unknown.

The offenders were promptly stopped, but a question remains: what was their purpose?

While I do conceive that for you it may actually be hard to understand, I’ll go over it again. If you need to kill an ennemy, you are bound to do more efficiently if you bring something to deal damage to it. In GW2 that’s berserker gear going along with damage oriented builds offering necesary support. We call it the meta as it represents the maximal efficiency (#stigma) achievable. Please learn your lesson.

Rangers are required to have Zerk gear and are usually kicked from the Zerk Groups.

If you notice the Zerk groups, you will notice usually only 3 classes.

Warriors & Guardians (zerk gear)
Mesmers (for the aoe invisibility)

You can blame the Zerk gear all you want, but in reality its the
Warrior/Guardian – Zerk combination that is OP

If a player is using zerker and he is not comfortable with it he will die more often then if he was wearing non zerker. Hence he will be doing no dps because he was dead vs him wearing a gear set or using a spec he can play and will not die and be able to continue to dps.

Mmh. Let’s say a zerker ele + FGS 4 deals damage for the duration of the skill then goes down. I don’t think I need to do damage calculations to state that you would need a non damage dealing spec to do a proper skill rotation for a few minutes to get there…

Not long ago, I was leveling my warrior in queensdale and I had to disable map chat because I couldn’t focus with all those insults going on.

Dungeon community? I say you don’t see very clearly what the problem is. The problem is… wait for it… people. And as different as you might think you are, you’re a person too.

If you’re the kind of player that simply can’t withstand conflict and rudeness without crumbling, I can empathise: I was like that too. I still am in a way – and it’s all my fault. Your fault too. You can’t change how people behave, but you can change how you react to them.

Are a few kicks enough for you to demand anet to do something about it… doing what? How would you suggest they track down why you got kicked?

Are you the kind of player that freaks out and reports everyone? I had a french guy reporting me even if he didn’t understand what we were typing to him. He didn’t grasp what dungeon we were doing, and I couldn’t explain it to him, even though I was scrambling with the french dictionary, trying to form a sentence (while fighting Malrona, then you come back at me and say I’m rude, you kitten playhowiwants).
From the beginning – before wurm – to Malrona – and we even waited…
…he was talking random french stuff in chat, waiting at fireheart rise. And then he even got upset when we kicked him after 5 minutes of him not joining the instance, pmed me and threatened me! Really. We were almost at the last boss, for pete’s sake, and I didn’t want him to leech the dungeon. How do you think anet could keep track of that?

If you get kicked right away on gear ping because you’re some apothecary ranger trying to join an experienced party, how do you think they’d keep track of that?

Improvements could be made on the lfg, true, but… let’s assume they add built-in gear checks and tick boxes where you can choose which prof or level of ap/experience you want, and nobody can join if they don’t conform. There should be less kicks that way, right? Would you be happy? of course not, you’d be complaining that they encourage “elitism” and “hostility”. Bah.

If your problem is to be found in people being jerks and insulting you, then there’s the report button: verbal abuse. Isn’t that enough? then send a ticket with a screen to anet.

Honestly, I’m sick and tired of people popping in the dungeon section and flinging kitten at everyone, demanding for stuff to be done left and right when we don’t get a serious dungeon update in months.
What is anet supposed to do? Suspend everyone that uses a “bad” (such a childish adjective) word? disable whispers? disable the party chat on join?
Owait, you already can do that yourself.
But then you’d complain that they – rightfully so – kicked you because you weren’t following the party’s directions.

I say this as I post for dungeons and ask for a certain thing. I ask for experienced LvL 80 Zerkers no necro/ranger. I ask for this because I like fast smooth runs. People want to complain ohhh such an kitten doesn’t want necros or rangers and only want zerkers. It is just as easy for you to post so why bother crying over mine?

If you join my group and have no clue what to do…you will be kicked. If you join my group and you are clearly not zerker…you will be kicked. If you join my group and you are not lvl 80…you will be kicked. If you join my group and you are a necro or ranger…again you will be kicked. Your fault for joining something and not reading. Also if you just join and ask what path are we doing when it clearing said what path…that clearly shows you did not read the post and you will be kicked

So basically my point is….read the post of what you are joining. If you do not meet the requirements then do not join or if you do join and get kicked it is your fault not theirs because you failed to read.

Also one final note…EVERYONE can post a lfg with whatever they want so instead of crying zerker is killing the game or people are kittens kicking me because I am a ranger etc. Make your own post saying including all and watch it fill up with people who share the same interest as you. It isn’t hard people!

I am enjoying the fact that as people cry about their dual legendaries and wardrobe, all I can think of is how people in the fractal reset thread said, “just wait until this happens to you.” And it kind of reminds me of something I’d wanted to paraphrase but never had the opportunity to…

This forum is afraid of me… I have seen its true face. The GD forum is an extended gutter and the gutter is full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the casuals will drown. The accumulated filth of their anti-zerker rhetoric will foam up about their waists and all the bowbear and staff guardians will look up and show “Save us!” … and I’ll look down and whisper “No.”

I should probably take a break from the forums for a bit.

Fractal Changes

• From now until the next feature patch (2020), bobble heads are now a permanent instability for fractals above 10. The head will get larger for each tick of agony. We have done this to ensure a continuing challenge for our players.
• Due to the changes in the Fractals in scales above 10, we will be resetting all levels down to 10. This will be to accommodate the coming leaderboards which will be detailed below.
• After much thought, we have determined that the best metric for fractal skill should be “How large was the player’s head before completing the fractal?” This is to encourage the use of more balanced gear types, so that players do not need to dodge telegraphed attacks that produce agony. We feel that this is the best way to separate the good players from the exploiters.

 

Open World and Dungeon Changes

• All aggro’d elite and veteran mobs will have an infinitely long leash range. These mobs will follow you out of a map, an instance, anywhere, until you either kill them or log out for at least 2 hours. (If you encounter Dredge, any Dredge left alive will spawn a clown car of 200 other dredge that will also be aggro’d infinitely.)
• All dungeon safe spots have been walled off. If a player attempts to approach one, the player is instantly downed and all pieces of armor completely broken (but you don’t have to pay to fix it!).
• In order to complete a dungeon path each day, each player must watch all of the cut scenes that detail the story prior to the place in time which the particular path is placed. This is to increase immersion.
• All dungeons have events to contest them, which take at a minimum of 15 minutes to complete and a maximum of 5 minutes to respawn. This is to increase immersion.
