dont understand whats up with all the name changing. just keep it as official much easier for people to find the correct thread
I love how 90% of this post is between 3 people essentially xD
On topic: I feel that siege could use a slight timer buff, maybe 1 hour 30 minutes, no longer. Putting simply 2 hours will make people want to abuse it. I still dont understand how people sit online all day simply grieving a server. Like dude, did you seriously get that angry over a few wipes or something to spend the next week of your life pressing F essentially.
It’s not really the people who get wiped it’s the people who get sent over from other servers who act as spies, if the siege limit would allow them to block people from using siege then it might be reasonably affordable (for a server/large guild) to invest the money (and person) during the off hours to waste supply and take up siege space so that when prime-time rolls around they can still storm in and take important places like SM or keeps.
However rare that currently may be, the reason people are so concerned with the idea is because it did happen in the past. Although I’ve not seen a total blockage I have seen people putting up dozens of flam rams up in EB keeps.

Ok, seriously, I am losing a lot of respect for t1 servers, because of these forums. Almost all the threads are someone from a t1 server crying about something.
I stack confusion to 25 now without using these runes. Maxing a stack of conditions is no logical reasoning to cry "OP.
To stack 25 stacks from just the runes, as your claiming, you would have to be interrupted 4-5 times in a 10s time period.
If your getting interrupted that often in that short amount of time, the runes are not the problem. Its truly amazing how many players are their own worst enemy and wat to cry nerf when they get themselves interrupted 4+ times in 10s.

You people sure do like skipping to the end of the book and reading it backwards, then griping that everything was given away….
Let them tell their tale. You don’t necessarily have to like or click with the entire cast of characters, but you’re not the one writing the tale either.
Its not “skipping to the end” when 1. they’ve done this 4 times so far and 2. they tell you its her doing on the FRONT PAGE. And nobody is complaining about things being “given away” anyways. We’re all complaining because we’re sick and tired of scarlet. She’s got the depth of bad Chris Nolan’s Joker fan fic soaking in a puddle.
Warriors have clearly stolen the nerf hammer and is now using it to beat everyone else into the ground.
Same thing happens when a wvw player is going to do arah.
“Oh you are a wvw player with wvw gear? No sry. Bye”
But the wvw players can’t decide with which players they will fight even if these players have a gear that doesn’t fit in wvw.
I can’t count how often i was flamed in dungeos because i don’t know every single step and spot. Now perhaps some pve players get a taste of their own medicine
Your positivity isn’t making my queue move any faster, unfortunately.
OK well..
1.) How do we establish the difference between a WvW player and a PvE player?
2.) What is stopping a PvE player from masquerading as a WvW player to get priority?
3.) How exactly is this system going to encourage new players to get involved in WvW?
1st: That’s an easy one. The game could simply record the time a player spends in PvE and WvW. Spawn and Cities are excluded from this. Maybe it could also count how many events are done in PvE and WvW. It then calculates how much percentage of your time you spend doing what. Some1 like me would get almost 100% WvW time. A PvE achievment hunter might get like 90% PvE time and 10% WvW time (just an example), giving him a low WvW queue priority.
2nd: You have to actually spend time playing WvW. Each time you spend playing PvE it lowers your percentage of WvW time.
3rd: It simply doesn’t. That’s not the aim. The aim is to give the WvW players their game mode back. I already admited the problem with players, who want to transition from PvE to WvW. But a completely new player, who didn’t spend time in any game mode, would have an equal percentage of PvE, PvP and WvW time by default. Please note that the whole queue problem should be solved with the Edge of the Mist map. Until then this system could help to get the WvW dedicated players back into WvW.
Chronomancy works, I am proof of it. Now stop asking me questions. Time must be preserved!
Please remove the ridiculous new achievements from W3, they are ruining the gameplay in it. WvWvW(W3) has a very strong community and is arguably the finest aspect of the entire game. It’s hallmark being the level of inter-server competition and intra-server cooperation, tier populations notwithstanding.
The introduction of dozens of new achievements has caused not only an influx of new players into the Borderlands who don’t care about the match-up, but it creates a queue nightmare in which very few guilds are getting their members in. This leads to a breakdown of server effectiveness in which the carefully laid plans and group builds become insignificant and pointless.
W3 may have been intended as a PvE light combat zone, but the reality is that the PvP here is the most competitive aspect of the game by far. Trying to force some kind of PvE meta into W3 with these achievement carrots is not only wrong, but game-breaking. Leave the achievement rat-race in PvE; it’s not needed, nor welcome here.
I troll because I care
The fact that many guilds before the leagues moved to the overpopulated servers. The overpopulated servers even paid for many guilds to go up there. I know its a pain with so many people but maybe consider moving to other servers instead of the top servers?
I know its wrong of me to say this but this might force people to spread out now. I played on reset night with no problems to get into any map and no lag. My fights are fairly small and even if they get large I have no problems. You might want to consider this.
There are guilds that logout so they bring down the population so they can get more people in to their server to me you are causing your own problems.
Also Anet is doing the overflow WvW maps so that might help you all out.
The length of the queues is not due to ppl moving up to T1. They moved weeks before, they didn’t all just move the Thursday before.
The mega-queues are due to the influx of achievement hunters. And this will not force the people who have been doing WvW for the last year to lower pop servers where they can pvdoor.
This will force them to look outside of GW2 for another pvp game.
Melandru runes might be expensive to buy but remember they are runes on temple armour so 252k karma will get you the runes from salvaging.
I am pretty sure you cant salvage karma armor for runes (its what ive heard and makes sense), otherwise I imagine melandru runes would be worth about 20s :p

Chat suppression needs looking at, it can be frustrating having to whisper someone to use map chat for you.
1. Rewarding more for defense.
1 – Alt Friendlyness(Acc Bound WvW ranks)
2- GvG
3- Orb buff
Agreed. We have a plan for doing something like this that we’ll have more info on later. Right now we have to get it tested and do all the other things before we can be sure it is what we’d want.
Please make the colors bright and distinctive. Or have a colorblind mode checkbox in settings for the entire game. Tyvm.
Greetings,
“We have decided to add an area to the Obsidian Sanctum jumping puzzle that is large enough to fit the fights…
Uhm? It just sounds like a giant arena.
It won’t be GvG until you:
- Add Guild Halls
- Add Several GvG Maps (not one large area)
- Add a Guild Ladder
Anet please model after the GvG Basics Guide and give us real GvG again.
Drama , drama , drama. And UW for the first time it’s not even taking part in it(’cause there is no one left to complain!).
SPGR is still kicking, we might not be a WvW guild but since there’s no hope to play for the points we will look for the good fights out there for the rest of our days.
Good job to PunK that Punked us tonight @ fs bl, your melee train wrecked us and then came the disconnects. Our 30 man “zerg” can’t compare to your 60.
Keep up the good fights, I hope to see less blobs in the coming days(doubt it) and remember:
We will stand and fight!

More faces would be great, especially older and more rugged faces. Right now we have only faces of teens and 20s except for like 1 or max 2 of them.
Possible Solutions
- Of course it would be nice with more options on the Character Creation screen, but I’ve also noticed…
- Town Clothing. And I’ve noticed how I don’t really spend any real coin on it to support ANet.
I don’t like the cutesy wootsy hoods that came, the back items and all that. They’re great gags but really, I’d like to have some items that wouldn’t look odd in Tyria, but look like they belong in that universe. Something that says, my character is part of this world, he blends in but also sticks out at the same time (if you get my point).
- I’d like for more Town Clothings which can be purchased through the Black Lion Trading Company. More clothings through there would most likely result in the roleplaying community spending a lot more coin, since it most certainly caters to them (even non-RP’ers would most likely want it as well, because there is a desire to be different and individual in MMO’s).
- Adding some sort of “Wardrobe” where we could customize our character’s looks, not only with the Town Clothings we’ve purchased but also (simply because I don’t like being limitted to Heavy Looking armor in PvE) add those looks to the armor we use for our PvE purposes. I can see pros and cons for it, but it’s nice to have the option.
- Whether it be only Town Clothings or both, I will leave for the dev’s to decide. Another solution to that is to add more armor skins (not talking dungeon, but more generic armors that we get in the world).
- Adding more dungeon sets to provide for more customization options would also be nice to see. Maybe that particular paths will drop a certain piece of gear and you can get the head, shoulder, chest, etc. in that one path (it’s a suggestion, probably needs polish since I just came with it on the fly here, so feel free to comment on it, if you like). – Maybe some new dungeons that provide a harder challenge… or enough challenge so that we might not succeed, because oh how everyone can succeed in everything in this game (good thing for casuals, but there is no “Hey, look at my aweomse set of armor. I really had to work for this”… no there is only “I got the CoF set…” – “Cool… so does kinda everyone else, I guess… nothing special about it, really.” – Because really, if you want to be like “YEAH! I had the skill, we had teamwork and just LOOK at this awesome set of armor that only the bravest and most skilled of players dare go for!”, we need more challenging content that is not a guaranteed win)
- The above stated is to get a word in for hard core gamers, though I, myself, am more of a casual player. I enjoy games at my own pace, but I like a challenge. Therefore I like to play games at the highest difficulty. I don’t always beat them when I do… it takes time and it requires skill and a lower difficulty level, but GW2 only requires patience of me. I can understand the frustration that some other hard core gamers are going through with that, and therefore I think there should be content that caters to them as well… it doesn’t have to mean that you can’t do other dungeons that are designed for more casual gamers and with rewards that look cool, but are not the status symbol that other rewards might be.
- That said, I really like the look of the armors in GW2, they’re nice and awesome without becoming overly much at the same time (like I found WoW’s later dungeon sets to be).
- It would be nice with more choices, because in the core of every great rpg and certainly the MMORPG’s, there should be many choices to make that makes your character individual, not only in personality but in appearance as well.
As a roleplayer and as an MMO player there are several things that I would like to see more of in GW2.
- More PvE and improvement of PvE content.
- More customization options.
(- Oh yeah, and I firmly believe that in a world with chairs, there should be the option to sit on them. )
- The feature I’m going to talk about in this thread is Customization Options, why they are important and give some suggestions as to how they could be implemented in GW2.
Importance
- Why is the customization option important?
In MMO’s you are playing together or alongside millions of other people from around the world. For me, and for many others I believe, standing out is important. Making a character that is individual to you, a character that embodies what you want others to think of the character and mayhap the person behind the character.
- Sure, some people, like the hard core gamers, don’t care much about all the personality, but they nevertheless strive to get a particular dungeon set or something to show others that they have achieved something or overcome certain challenges. Their character are more like a trophy (or Hall of Monuments, if you like ) that shows other players that he/she has got some serious skill and has put time and effort into his/her character.
The Issue
- Just shortly, why is this an issue?
Well, I’ve seen all the dungeon sets, most of the legendaries and all that on people in the game. I don’t see anyone any longer and go “Whoa! Where’d you get that set of armor?!?” or “Where’d you get that weapon?”
- As a roleplayer I’d like for more customization options, not only in the character creation screen (in terms of more hair, face, beard, etc. styles) but also in terms of armor sets and/or Town Clothing.
- Suggestions to solutions will be in the comment below.
I think WvW is awesome but it get old after playing it for a while; and if your playing it just to fight in small groups or 1 v 1 you have to wait till the late hours when everyone else is sleeping except for the other people trying to do the same. Even if you do stay up late its still a pain to actually get to other players on the massive maps.
Structured PvP on the of hand is good for small group battles but it uses a completely different character system… What if I want to use my PvE equipment in PvP.
I’d really like to see PvP options like Jade Quarry and Alliance Battles in GW. A deuling mechanic like the one in Aion would also be awesome for those who just want to fight 1 v 1 or 2 v 2.
The targeting system in GW2 is terrible. If my target walks behind me, I lose my target. “Target Nearest” doesn’t work, despite binding it to numerous keys. Tab targeting is a joke.
I’ve been playing since beta and the targeting is my only complaint, but it’s essential to combat to have a robust and reliable targeting system. Otherwise we’re just button mashing.
Just like the title says, a little tick box like we have for helm/shoulders/gloves that hides the shield when sheathed so we can see our back slot items.
Personally, I’d absolutely love this.
Thoughts?
To be able to purchase land, either in the real game or through a instance/shard world and build upon, personalize and expand to your own unique desire and creation.
Available for other players to join you in your home/village/city.
Possibly:
Play Owned Houses
Guild Owned Villages
Guild Owned Cities
Guild Owned Empire/Citadel/Fortress
(village, is what the guild starts with, eventually expanding into the other 2 stages, or potential separate stages that guilds could spend hours developing, proving a home for their guild, with potential reward)
Guild work together within the village/city/citadel to advance either through activities within it or with Gold.
Rewards, xp boost, crafting supplies, whatever you guys can come up with, expanding on this type of idea.
Will give allot of extra end game material for players to explore (i’m at ‘start game’ >.> but to the endgame, which the audience could be made for, or accessible for any player, it could be a great addition to the game with self creating content, at any period of the game experience, within Guilds or solo)
We are able to retrait our own traits at a cost (a bit of silver). I and many others would be more than willing to pay for the ability to retrait our wxp points. Even if this were to cost a reasonable amount of Gems, the ability to freely choose rather than being locked in permanently would be very much appreciated.
If there are others who I haven’t talked to that would also like to have this option, please add to this thread. Thank you.
