Hi guys as the title states, I’d like to suggest making available a commander icon that is only visible to members of the same guild. This icon should also be of a different color from the regular blue commander icon, preferably the same gold/yellow as used for guild chat.
The argument for this is that there are some guilds/teams that would be tasked with roles suitable for well-knitted teams, where the addition of players briefed on the task at hand would not only not contribute but at times detract from the intended objectives. Examples of said roles would be ninja/guerrilla squads where map stealth is important and where stragglers could give away positions.
Such an icon would also be useful in dividing manpower where 2/3 different guilds cover different areas of the map in conjunction with a regular commander commanding the regular zerg. There have been frequent times when a commander, already running with his guild, is unnecessarily joined by a multitude of other players. At the same time however, another commander, who is much in need of manpower, is often times neglected.
There are of course various other details to work out, but this is the idea in brief. Any thoughts?

My 2 cents about Hills glitching last night.

Such fights are the reason why I love WvW. I had a lot of fun in conquering Woodhaven and defending Hills against 3 biggest guild groups AG can field. We were fighting tooth and nail and that mesmer who cheated robbed us of a fair fight. It provided that final push you needed to break down the doors and left a sour taste in my mouth. Sure, you had numbers and gates were down to 10% but that portal prevented a group of us who ran supply to repair the gate. We had 2 trebs hitting your catas and we have already destroyed several of them and without that portal we could have held you back.

I accept your apology and I hope that mesmer using a well-known glitch gets ostracized by your community. I would have certanly done it if it were a player from my server.

Was there a reason why a portal was made in the first place? Was it really just an off-chance that someone discovered the one portal glitch in hills in the middle of an attack, while making a portal for no apparent reason? I play a mesmer, portal is not one of those skills that you just randomly spam. This isn’t a new glitch, it’s something that’s been known for a while, there are videos and screenshots on this forum and you must think us really naive if we are to believe that not one of you have ever heard of this.

All I see is a bunch of covering your kitten and saying that the portal wasn’t important, of course if AG sincerely regretted this they would have handed the keep back, as was standard in the days of orb-hacking. They have the night numbers, so I’m sure they’d have it back in 10 minutes.

Maybe I’m getting a bit frustrated again like last night and not thinking clearly, so I’ll lay the facts out as I see them and see if you can deny any of the following:
1. A portal was laid that was outside the inner gate, with no legitimate purpose intended, and happened to be in the one widely known glitch location in hills.
2. Someone called for this portal to be used while the gate was still up, a number of KISS members used it and one ported back while the others were killed.
3. This diverted attention from the gate UNTY was attacking, which Gandara had been repairing and which had all but 1 of the catapults used against it destroyed. There is no place for “if” statements but it ceased being a fair fight at this point.
4. Hills was subsequently taken and held by AG, AG guilds were able to move onto defending other objectives and Gandara received a formal apology but no reparations.

everyone agrees that engineer needs some far reaching damage buffs, cooldown quality of life fixes, bug fixes, trait mergers, trait fixes, aoe changes, that turrets need to be tougher and do more damage, and that we need better elites and to have RNG removed.

Only an engineer has access to bombs, grenades, flamethrowers and rockets that can’t damage buildings as much as swords

Only an engineer can set everything in the room on fire and not damage a thing.

I just want to have some kind of in-game way for our multiple guild groups to see each other on the map. Either a special “guild commander” or use the current commander & squad system but with a /private feature so only those people IN the squad can see the commander pin and you have some control of who can join.

It’s ridiculous in this day of MMO’s to not have a private system for over 5 people to group and coordinate in massive WvW environment. The current commander system does not work for our guild when you can’t control the people in it or the visibility.

I’m a Piken Square fighter and I’m proud of my server. My pride persists despite the best efforts of the disgruntled few, whose posts in this topic demonstrate their subscription to the principle of “never let the facts get in the way of your conclusion.”

Their conclusion: Piken Square is a shameful, degenerate pack of low-lifers because they entered an alliance with Augery Rock to defeat Gandara.

Against this, two facts:

1. Three commanders — not Piken Square the Server.
2. Duration < 12 hours.

Concerning Point #1 … PS has an active website where we organize ourselves. Despite this, the commanders who made this “alliance” did so of their own free will and without consulting the server at large. When the issue came to light, I promise you: the outcry you’ve engaged in on this forum is a pale shadow of the outcry that occurred on our forum. Nothing you’ve said here is more effective than what we said amongst ourselves.

Concerning Point #2 … Not only was it less than half a day, but respected by only a minority on either side. Personally, I played during this mystical, 12-hour period without even knowing about some alleged “alliance” (only found out about it post-hoc) and I promise you: there were plenty of dead PS and AR bodies littering the battlefields upon which I fought.

When faced with facts that challenge your conclusion, you have a choice:

1. Graciously adjust your conclusion to fit the facts.

-or-

2. Ignore the facts, continue to stand on your self-proclaimed moral high ground, keep up your inflammatory rhetoric, wave the bloody shirt and milk that situation for every gram of sympathy you can until the truth finally comes out and silences you.

And the truth will come out. It always does, no matter how many exaggerations and falsehoods we must endure in the short term.

And the truth is, the short-lived actions of a few on Piken Square tarnished our image. We accept that. It happens. (It will happen to you, I promise). We regret it. We resolve that it will never happen again. We know that everyone makes mistakes, including us. We know the value of those commanders who made this ill-advised decision. We have fought with them on the field of battle, we have discussed this sad affair with them internally and we remain convinced of their worth. We affirm that the only unpardonable sin is to make the same mistake twice.

Does Gandara wish me to judge their entire server by the few hackers, exploiters and cheaters I’ve seen, who brazenly wear the Gandara tag on what should be a field of honor?

Then I challenge Gandara to rise above the rhetoric and judge Piken Square by the whole and not by the few.

For I tell you this from the heart: Gandara is the worthiest foe Piken Square has yet faced. You are unrelenting on the attack … tenacious and uncompromising in defense … you counterattack in force at the very moment when you looked beaten and routed … you bring a fiery spirit to the battlefield, the like of which I’ve not seen in our previous matchups. When I ram the finisher into a downed Gandaran, I know that he gave his all and I’m acutely aware of the absolute priviledge I had in facing him … and when he rams the finisher into me, I take comfort in knowing that I died at the hands of one worthy.

Your honor, Ministers, Mr. Prosecutor, lords and ladies of this Court, first allow me to apologize for my colleague’s unprofessional behavior. I assure you that we Asura do understand your legal system, its protocols, and its principles.

However, I must inform you that whatever alleged crimes may or may not have occurred in the walls of Divinity’s Reach, surely cannot be the work of Master Tixx – my client – or his krewe, for the simple fact that no member of my client’s krewe has set foot in Divinity’s Reach, or indeed on any Krytan soil at all.

Indeed, Master Tixx has been on his Asuran-made-and-maintained vessel, the Infinirarium, since long before the alleged events are said to have occurred in Divinity’s Reach. He was still on the Infinirarium during the stated timeframe, and still is there as we speak.

As my wrongly-accused client has clearly never left Asuran holdings, I must move to have this trial transferred to the purview of the Arcane Council, whereupon he will answer to his own peers and superiors (both of which he is sorely lacking here).

Server hardware difficulties, Networking difficulties and shaky execution of this entire event was pretty disheartening. The content was there, but half of it was busted.

Between bugged events and NPCs and your big `super chest` that was placed, which half the attendees got screwed out of… you really might consider just placating your players on this one.

Consider something like this:
—> If you were logged into your account, any character, for 1 hour or more during any phase of the Lost Shores event, all characters will be rewarded with the exclusive rewards available during that time.
—> Additionally and limitedly, any characters who were L75+ as of (date/time of ancient karka fight) will receive the reward items given by the chest at the end of that fight. (All items soulbound and unable to be salvaged, as this is to make the items available to people, not to give people money)

Just blanket reward everybody, acknowledge the issues and state that you’ll do better next time and lets put this crap behind us.
