DAoC had a really great mechanic where the guild that claimed a keep or tower would get messages in guild chat when a guard near their tower was killed. The message looked like “a guard from your tower was killed with 25 enemies in the area” and showed up in guild chat even if you were in a PVE zone.

Unfortunately because you’re in COIN, I instantly hate you. But on top of that, I love the way in the video you’re only “trashing” Augury Rock, not Desolation… Is it because you actually have no clips of wiping Desolation properly? Hmm. Another thing… Why the hell do you still have the Tower of Nightmare’s meta in the top right, it’s supposed to be “A Very Merry Wintersday” right? Omg i’m so tired to design, i need to tell mah boss i don’t want to work on customers files anymore (and yes, i’m going to get infracted for this but it’s definitely worth it :P ).

Cosmetic changes are ok. Anything else, not so much.

We have no choice but to accept the existence in game now.

Our only remaining options are:

a) Politely request that they make said items attainable in the game mode we choose to play, at a price proportional to the rewards we receive while in this game mode.

b) We bite the bullet and do what we hate.

c) Fold and get out of the game.

The ball is in their court, do they care, who knows?

It’s just that they don’t care. Simple as that.

They don’t care that you can glitch in garrison walls and kill siege with some AOE attacks. Mesmers been doing that for about a year now. Most players don’t do it and when it happens, often the other people from that server tell the player to stop. But every now and then there is a newbie that does it anyway.

The same with the green keep glitches in EB. You can sent in 5 videos of a thief cheating there, you can report the cheater with your entire guild, they simply don’t care.

And if you link to a video with clear evidence that this cheat still happens, the moderator here simply deletes your post, gives you an infraction and everyone pretends the problem is solved while the cheater just continues to cheat.

It’s kinda like the police destroying your evidence of a crime and punishing you for daring to accuse someone, lol.

Don’t get angry about it. It’s just a game. Just forget about it or you’ll quit this nice game. Just accept that they simply don’t care about a few players cheating.

There is nothing you can do about, nothing at all.

PS. As a member of a smallish roaming guild I would like to say ditto to everything Conchis said.

As a punishment for forgetting to mention Yarr, Conchis will be forced to man an arrow cart 8h/day on a northern tower in gandara borderland for a week, shooting at everyone who passes by but never ever engaging in an actual fight.

In view of the magnificent accomplishments of Desolation’s mighty warriors, capturing first place in the esteemed Silver League, I’ve built a shrine in my home to the Gods of Desolation. In fact, this is my first time posting in a matchup thread this season, given that the very passing of one of Desolation’s brave soldiers makes me tremble with fear. In the center of this shrine I’ve fixed the image of an Omega golem. On the wings are the images of a gate torn asunder and the cast down bodies of those weak Veteran Guards who were unable to defend my own home server. I keep the candles on the shrine lit like so many scouts through the night, so that it glows in the dark of night, and when I pass it during the day, its magnificence leaves me humbled.

To this shrine I bring an offering each night to safeguard Desolation’s embattled fighters. Last night it was a dead squirrel. Tonight it’ll be a pigeon. I’m hoping to find a rat for tomorrow.

I believe that this experience that has brought us in contact with the ultimate victors in the Silver League must be commemorated, and I urge all my fellow players to do their part to honour these individuals from Desolation who follow a higher calling in their play. There can be no doubt that their total domination has been won through true excellence in strategy, tactics, and sheer prowess in all aspects that constitute this game that is World vs. World.

Gandara is server of the year.

Not entirely sure if I should defend Desolation or not, as this discussion is rather pointless. However, I’ll still give it a shot. I’ll be straight down the line here, you decide what you make of it in the end.

As I took the lead and struggled to revive the server and rally the guilds, you could say I know what happend and how it happend. What happend to Desolation? Did we tank the Silver League? Far from it. A couple of weeks before the League kicked off, we lost major forces again for the third time.

You are kinda jumping into your own mouth here mate. You didn’t tank but you lost just enough rating to get into silver.

Also, it wasn’t a PvE crowd that introduced 5am 10 omega golem rushes to the silver league.

We faced you twice during your tanking phase and the difference was staggering – much less skilled opposition during prime-time then in pre-league matches and heavy nightcapping. Congratulations on becoming what you hated – Vizunah Square.

Forum trolls only get abused. Sometimes frustration works. Deso has a great community and some great people. Even though Gandara are stronger in prime, they don’t have a 7 AM karma train and empty tower/keep door bashers. Which is a similar coverage of a Gold league server. Except for the fact that the karma train is too weak when facing even numbers. Anyway, you guys tanked to silver league. Personally I don’t care as I’m enjoying fights (except for tagged up guild+pug blobs, which is every guild in deso nowadays I assume) and loving the spirit of Deso even after losing major WvW guilds, but you guys made a name for yourselves negatively. You tanked not because you don’t belong in the Gold league, but for the fact that you won’t win it. (Hey Kodash and Augury, and yeah, you, Riverside ! It’s a great tactic !) If there was a similar strength server on this tier, I wouldn’t be amazed to see you playing RoS RoF Dzagonur next season lol. Great mentality. You shouldn’t care anyway. You will win Silver, it was inevitable at the starting. Hope we puny silver servers gave you some good fights, which you wanted I assume (!!). Good luck on upcoming matchups ! Lets clear some things up here, without me going back through thread for endless quotes:

1. Someone said about most of the major guild groups are talking about an alliance.
Not true, most of the major guild groups on FSP could care who wins and are mainly happy to be getting good fights,(though if there are the odd ppl/guilds who think this is a good idea it won’t be enough people to make a difference in regards to an alliance).

2. Deso are not an all round strong server.
This point i am making in regards to EU prime time, we have faced much stronger prime time than Deso in this league including midday (certain times of day they are pretty weak, in comparison to what them and us see them as), so my conclusion is that they are middle silver league material prime time, and have a bottom gold league night/morning crews. However, throughout the leagues Gandara is getting stronger each match up, an will certainly try and match Deso’s coverage, and may succeed, but not with the help of FSP, so if Gandara does beat Deso they achieved it on their own.

3. I am not pointing fingers at a whole server.
But the few Deso on this forum that claim that their guild is an unstoppable machine or others bragging of how boring this match is, or how we are all walking loot bags etc etc. 1 phrase “Kettle, black” spring to mind? if your guild is unstoppable its down to numbers if it’s even number u go down just as slow or fast as the next man and his dog. If we cant physically match ur numbers as an organised guild/zerg/blob then tough kitten on us, but in no way does it make u better.
In regards to loot bags, you may be very surprised to know that when we kill u, u also drop loot bags. There isn’t a bug that deny’s Deso’s opposition loot bags on a kill, u drop loot like every player. I wouldn’t lie to u there I swear to god Deso does drop loot.
This matchup boring? I bet you just come off the banana boat? yes we may not have ur coverage(but who cares i certainly dont), but I play EU prime and im here for the fights, we match u prime time in awesome fights and give as good as we get, if u don’t play EU prime time ur kittening problem, u want better fights out of hours go bandwagon a gold league server to fulfill your needs.

We are NOT a walk in the park, we give u a struggle and good fights prime time u go to bed wake up next day and ur night/morning crew has boosted ur PPT, whoopy kittening doo you night cap morning cap, i couldn’t give a kitten, but don’t put down a server because u do something they cant. Although I stand by my word in saying that I don’t care for the points that much. What I do care about is Deso (individuals not whole server) coming on forum and flaunting how weak they think we are. Take into consideration 2 weeks before the leagues started we scraped ourselves out of bronze league status and now facing a server with bottom gold league coverage, you must take some pride in beating ur chests about that one. We hold our ground as much as we can, and hit hard, and to put us down for doing that shame on you.

I say again in no way am I labeling a whole server, just individuals who do truly think that they are Gods Walking Amongst Mere Mortals.

On just about every map, I have a few tricks that I use for fun and I thought I would share them with my fellow engineers. In the video, I cover five maps: Forest of Niflhel, Raid on the Capricorn, Spirit Watch, Skyhammer, and Battle of Khylo. It was simply forcing almost every engineer into 10 points in Explosives which was really hurting build diversity.

That makes no sense at all … shouldnt then other skills/traits be buffed in such a way that you would want to spend those 10 points in the respective traitline instead of those 10 points in explosives ?! …. instead of that you will be moving an overall good trait that could be an alternative and thus ruining certain builds and decreasing build variety ?!

Just about every mesmer takes Deceptive Evasion for the clone on dodge (and still would even if it was grandmaster). There are traits that just work very well with every class. Why aren’t these sorts of things on other classes also being bumped up a tier on other classes to promote “build diversity”?

The only reason everyone took IP is because our DPS is kitten without the burning. We can get burning from other ways, but most of them are NOT viable at all. Fix them and maybe it might be alright.

Invigorating Speed is pretty much what keeps engineers alive. Nerfing it because of the trait line it’s in is a stupid reason. Move it, don’t nerf it.

As other people in this thread, and Ostrich Eggs somewhere (Maybe this thread?) Nade+Bomb build will probably be the only viable build.

Although mud slinging can be very amusing. I would like to correct something said in this thread (mainly by Desolation). I am from Gandara, so will comment on stuff you say about us!

Now onto the stats:
Statement: Gandara has the same amount of coverage around the clock.

Where this to be true, then why does Desolation gain MOST points during nighttime. Where we probably have 5 players for each map.

Check out the blue line in the income evolution chart and where it is highest. Yes, that is between roughly 4 to 8 in the night/morning where you finally come up on top and start gaining lots of points.

Now the same thing for your current matchup!

Your high point income moments all start between 1 and 2 AM. The time where most Europeans sleep or go to bed.

From that time the other servers have a struggle until their numbers are enough to compete (mind you, that in our case this meant we still had 1:3 odds against us, but we’ll win such fights).

Short version: Deso wins through night points. Uncontested, no fights required point income. I don’t like that, but hey it’s the way the game works atm. They outnumber ALL servers in the silver league matchups during those nighttimes..

My only problem with engineer is the amount of work that needs to be done to do things other classes can do. For example, our main damage source is condition damage. Our two main applications of this is grenade and bomb kit. Both of which are very hard to use compared to our competitors (as of right now it is mostly rangers and necromancers). Grenades are skill shots while bombs have timers and require you to be right next to the person. On top of this is that they produce red circles. Our current meta build is 3 kits and requires a pretty large APM to play effectively.

Now I understand why you’re nerfing speedy kits, however you need to give us something in return. Dodging was our main damage negator. Without it engineer will be a lot harder to play. Don’t get me wrong, we have a few defensive skills. Toolkit, shield (woot this weapon will be required even more now), and elixir S. My problem with elixir S is that our lack of weapon switching means we are pretty much required to have a kit. Not too many kits work well with elixir S, hence why the 3 kit is a meta. Our weapon skills need some majors buff to warrant us moving away from such a dependence on kits, or traits (probably better) that better buff them. P/P is ok, but lacks the ability to negate damage when being focused, especially in WvW. Rifle is just bad because all of its major damaging skills require you to be at close range, and most of the time when you trait to use rifle you lack good defensive skills.

I think if you take care of one messed up mechanic (the infinte vigor which is very bad thing to have), take care of them all. What about a guardians abudance of anti projectile skills, invurnabilities (which have no way of countering), passive healing/aegis that we can’t counter, and just great survivability. What about a thieves insane amount of mobility (stealthing which has no counter, evades which have no counter, leaps, teleports, and lots of blinds).

Quite honestly the way engineer is setup with no weapon switch, it causes most of our skills to be bad. Why are gadgets bad? They not only need to have the ability to make up for a utility slot, but also the lack of a secondary weapon. Turrets? Same story. This is why kits are so popular. You either need to significantly buff toolbelt skills are these skills or buff default weapon stats. Till you do that the meta will also involve primarily kits.

Don’t forget about Warriors berserker stance, or endure pain, or healing sig. Mesmers teleports/fake clones/distortion. Necros death shroud. Rangers weapon evades/for now 50% vigor regen. ( most other classes have stab as well )
