Watched some RO gameplay vidz online, because my GW2 acct is currently suspended due to hacking – but I’m not bitter at all, not one kitten bit – I was skimming through some Archer/Hunter playthru and remembered that you were able to equip a particular type of arrows! And that gave me a great idea! So after I got myself a nice cool Arrowhead beer, I thought, “It would be great if I could play GW2 while drinking my Arrowhead beer!”
That’s when ANOTHER great, albeit beer inspired, thought occured! Why can’t we equip different types of arrows in GW2? Of course, the part of me that was still sober came up with various, logical reasons why – the poor guy was eventually overpowered by the alcohol and went silent.
Bow users (in particular Rangers) could equip different types of arrows they can use in their off hand.
Just like the types of bows, certain classes of arrows can have a different effect (pros and cons) in battle or against a certain foe. To ensure non-OP of Bow users, the pro effects will only have a slight chance activating or only if certain conditions are meet(ie activated only during a crit hit).
Example
Broad tips These tips are wider for the purpose of hitting a target, with the added bonus that even if the arrow misses, the sharp sides will still cut the intended target.
Pro: Chance of grazing an target if shot misses.
Con: Slower knotch and shorter distance of effect
Barbed tips These tips were used mainly to cause the most amount of damage by, one, if the arrow hits it is harder to pull out and two, if it is pulled out, it leaves a wider wound.
Pro: Chance of crippling
Con: Lowers precicion
Hollow tips Mainly used in Asia against peasant uprisings (or so the Wuxia movie I saw has me to believe), the idea was that using hollowed end wooden shafts would shatter upon impact and the splinters would injured its intended targets and those around them.
Pro: Chance of shattering and causes splash damage
Con: Less effective against heavily armoured foes and loses damage potential over longer distances.
Bodkin tips Used in medieval Europe, these arrow were used against heavily armored knights. They were intended to pierce the armour plating and, hopefully, pierce the chainmail.
Pro: Ignore light armor defenses; can cause vulnerbility against heavily armored foes
Con: Shorter range of effect, slower knotch
Blunt tips Arrows I trained with when I first got into archer (BEFORE The Hunger Games, which is still a stupid movie/book). Accidently missed my target once while I was drunk and trying to show off – hit a friend in the stomach and knocked the wind out of them.
Pro: Causes stun upon initial attack if shot from anywhere but the front, chance of causing stun while in combat from any direction
Con: Lower damage output
Loose tips These arrows were designed to have the end of their tip break off once inside the target or upon pulling the arrow out. Often the case, the victims die due to internal bleeading.
Pro: Can cause a bleeding per step for x seconds
Con: Effect negated on heavy armors and loses effectiveness over distance

This way, ANet doesn’t need to invent any new skills for the arrows, as the added benefit is already built in. And, incase some just skimmed first couple of paragraphs or I didn’t specify correctly, the arrow’s effect DO NOT always take effect or requires a certain set of conditions to be meet before it can take effect.
That being said, it just looks sad whenever I equip a bow and see one of my Off Hand Icon unfilled.

Sure, why not. But only if we implement a winner takes all the loser’s gold and equipment rule. I want my win to feel more than just a “Congrats, you beat a noob” and I want the loser to feel the sting of losing – otherwise, every one with an axe to grind would be challenging everyone for a duel. In fact, I would love it if they implement not only the winner takes all rule, but add-on that X% of the loser’s xp and gold earnings for X days goes to the winner. A Servant system per se.
Make dueling worth it for those of us who know we’re going to be kickingkitten taking names, and giving those names away to other people whom’skitten we’re going to kick. I want players to feel my digital boot so high up theirkitten that they’d have to type “/beanbagchair” before they use the “/sit” command.
Rangers! They’re the best all around class – tank, dps, healers.
No – lets not do that and just keep them the way they are.

I really didn’t want to do this – coming on here and griping. I know that everyone’s got their problems and I am normally the last guy who wants to complain about things. However, ANet, this is the fifth – maybe sixth – time within the past WEEK that I have had my account suspended due to ‘unauthorized access.’ Personally, I think your system thinks that I am the unauthorized user at this point – as it seems that as soon as I get my account re-opened, I login once, log out…only to find that I can’t access it again.
Today, I logged in only to find my account suspended for the error code in the title (once again). I sent in a ticket just like any good gamer would and kept myself busy with tasks for a couple of hours while my issue was resolve. Once I received an email telling my my account had been reopened, I logged on. Maybe I’d ran into a glitch, maybe I had too many programs running. But I suddenly got a black screen, but still had GW2 BGM. So I closed the screen and tried to log on again – and was told, not ONE MINUTE into the game and less than thirty minutes since I got my account reopened, that my account has been suspended!
I’ve reformatted my drive after the third ‘unauthorized access’ believing it was a keylogger. I’ve two Anti-Virus program running and about half a dozen malware/spyware detection program running. I’m having a difficult time believing that my account is getting constantly hacked! Especially when I’ve changed my email and passwords about four times this week!
Oddly, once my acct had been reopened, nothing has been tampered with. Maybe that’s due to ANet’s diligence, but the first time my account was legitimately hacked, my char was used as a Spam Bot! When I finally got back in, they were not where I last left my char. But this ENTIRE week, everytime I’ve gotten my acct reactivated, I’m right where I was last. Nothing’s been added or taken away. I don’t have any mail from other players telling me not to spam. I can only presume, at this point, that because I’m using a different ISP from the original one I used when I first created my account, the system is automatically flagging it down and locking me out.
But, all in all, this is getting ridiculous! I’ve been hacked in other MMOs before – but I’ve never felt this frustrated with it.
I use long bow as my Ranger’s Main wpn. It is a thinking gamer’s weapon and can be more effective, if you’re willing to plan ahead, than short bow. I set my traps. I wait until and enemy comes into range (which isn’t very long of a wait). I fire. By the time my second shot is off, I use Hunter’s Shot so my pet can get there and do a bit more damage. I quickly follow with Barrage – raining death down on to the enemy and immediately follow it up with Rapid Fire. Usually, I just wait for the CD (not a long wait) and repeat. Should my pet take on too much damage, I employ Point Blank Shot, call my pet back and use Healing Spring. If the enemy chases it back, it will activate my traps, by this time, I activate Barrage and let it rain down around me.
Face it folks, the GW2 class title of Ranger is just a churched up name for “Archer.”
I remember a similar strategy taking place in Unofficial RO servers where the devs created bot hunters – if you interact with it, a small message would appear which tells the player the item/monster is a bot hunter and warns the player to no longer interact with it. If a dumb player or an actual bot continues to mess with the bot hunter, their character would be transported to a ‘jail area,’ where they awaited the biased and, justified, prejudice wrath of the GM. All the while, the entire server would be pinged a small message “XXXX is a bot and is in the Jail Area. Feel free to go and poke fun at them.”
Please explain me HOW someone got my Password that i only use with GW2

Just youtube search “Guild Wars 2 Hack.” It’s frustratingly irritating how easy some of them can get their hands on your account login info.
Personally, I vote we get rid of the multiple waypoints active at one time. It takes away from the challenge of the game. In GW1, the waypoints were few and far in between. If you died in the middle of an area, you had to start all over from the last waypoint, which could be on the other side of the map area. Not only that, you’d rez with a 10% (?) debuff to your stats that you had to earn your way out off – dying sucked in GW1 and you did all you could to avoid it. You needed to plan out and use a bit of strategy when engaging foes. You actually had to stop and plan out a route – sometimes, it was worth taking twice the time to move through an area, if you could avoid a mob path.
The numbers of waypoints in GW2 are too numerous and, IMHO, take away from the challenge of the game. Why worry about dying when I know that I’ll rez just a few feet away? Broken armor? I’d rather take damage armor over taking a 10% stat debuff! Most of the time, I’m in an area where I’m scaled down anyway – I could fight naked and still not really struggle. Hell, I do that just to make the game a bit more challenging in certain intermediate level areas.

Seems like this is a horrible issue all around. I’ve received the same error code for a possible unauthorized attempt previous and am currently experiencing the same issue. Last time, someone botted my character and spammed the server. Folks, if you see a character spamming “X Euros/Dollars/Any Form of Currency for X amount of gold,” it could be my character – kindly report it.
Though I’m certain that ANet is fully aware of this, just to share with people – if you youtube “Guild Wars 2 Hack” you will get a few vidz on jerks who have used pirate programs or underhand cyber tactics to gain access to your account.
