You already admit that you’re in a noob PUG team and you’re not playing at best set of gears. So what are you complaining about? You should have done enough to know that it is not that the dungeon is hard but your team is just bad.

Then DONT JOIN the speed run team.
Go find a normal LFXM , all class welcome team.

Or better, MAKE YOUR OWN TEAM without putting restriction.
People of slower classes will gladly join you, seriously.
But don’t try to exploit other people’s efficiency just because you’re mad that you did not meet the requirement for “maximum efficiency” but still want to salvage it.

10g per hour is a lie if you dont include the melton core and some rare drops you got once in awhile.

Even a team with the smartest mesmer + highest dps warriors, you can only do up to around 8 runs per hour no matter how fast you are. (You have to consider waiting and loading in and even selling trashes)

That only net you about 7g per hr maximum. (including selling all junks)
Plus you have to consider the diminishing reward of dungeon completion after redoing so many times . (It’ll drop down to 3s eventually), neting you less $$ after the first hour you run.

Can we get a workaround for Simin?

For those who’re QQing about w/o a mesmer + 3 war, you can’t kill Simin, I’m here to prove you wrong.

This fight took place sometime in March, after they fixed the 4-1 bug.
Stop QQing about the dps check problem, you’re team is just not coordinating enough.
Your team should:
1. Have a dedicated puller for 3 of the 5 orbs
2. All members should be aware of petrification and should be able to help cleanse it.
3. Determination

Yes, it may seem that she is not losing hp, but sure she does!!
Especially if your puller starts getting really good at pulling those orbs.

I’m not here to respond to the bug issue the OP encounted.
I’m here to respond to those who QQ about the dps check on Simin after the patch.

As you can see, this team I was in have no mesmer and only two warriors.

First dungeon, frustrated and disappointed...

Title pretty much says it, first dungeon .. AC story. Wasn’t expecting ez mode, but the difficultly is absurd for story mode/first timers/first dungeon.

Like the game, love leveling, absolutely hate dungeons so far.

As a warrior tank, I was useless. Damage seemed unmanageable. Mobs had awkward ago, maybe floor plates but it wasnt clear at all. In fact, the whole thing didnt seem to match the same quality I found open world.

I had the same experience you did, but trust me.. AC Story is a very bad example of the ‘typical’ dungeon experience.

I know I’ll get blasted and made fun of for this, but in my opinion AC Story Mode is the single hardest thing in all of GW2. It’s beyond crazy, over the top and ridiculously stupid to the point of being absolutely no fun. I’m not a ‘pro’ at this game, but I’m pretty good. I run other dungeons all the time and I have never had even close to as much trouble as I had with AC Story. The first time I ran another dungeon after that, I was expecting the worst and found it was 100 times easier then AC.

Don’t let it deter you from trying other dungeons, it’s absolutely awful the way they made AC one of the first dungeons you can do but by far the hardest. CM is a far better choice for early dungeon adventure. I won’t touch AC in any mode under level 80. Other dungeons with exception of Arah are a cake walk compared to AC. Try another dungeon and you’ll see, they’re not hard at all.

TBH, I find TA ex mode to be way more tedious than many of the other dungeons.
It’s like all your team need to know everything or you’ll get crushed.
People find them to be easier now since most of them had done it so many times already, but random PUGs still have alot of trouble doing TA ex well, especially many of them do NOT know how to run pass mobs and just keep on dying.

Truth be told, I was one of those who did all the SM with friends in low level since launch. We were all about lv35~ when we do the AC SM.
We find out the difficulty of it and die alot, but we find it more enjoyable cause that was when the game offers some real challenge at first.
We manage to finished it at last, with great satisfaction and glory of completing it.

We did the same with CM, TA, SE… We did ALL of them actually according to their recommanded level.
We cleared them all, and yes, honestly the hardest one we face is actually AC and TA.
But that may also be because that we lack experience at that time, and we don’t have access to many talent points at that time.

Now we feel like other than certain ex dungeons such as Arah and FotM, most of the dungeon contents are just facerolly easy.
Trust me, practice makes perfect, you’ll eventually feel the same way.
In fact many people complain other than FotM, GW2 is way too easy and forgiving in all of the contents of PVE.

OP or not…you guys think about it.
but ANET really making gw2 pvp not fun at all, in my view.
i miss gw1 gvg.

The problem is not thief, the problem is some classes have no real way to deal with stealth like some other classes.
The problem of stealth mechanic is pretty broken, but truth be told, there are more things that’re more broken than stealth in pvp that is.

Fact be told, the problem is the simplistic design of the warrior V.S. the complicate design of other classes that makes warrior sub par.
Anyway, that kind of thief my ranger can handle it easily if I’m not in a middle of fighting another player.

The ways to remove conditions, however, is VERY LACKING for some classes…
I can really care less about those so-called burster in PVP

Not sure, i practically don’t die to condition in my spec for both zerker thief and bunker guardian. Most 1 shot thief don’t stay long for you to stack condition if they fail to kill you in their opening blow, or they will die anyway if they miss their combo whether to condition or pure dmg opponent. I don’t find condition in pvp is overwhelming but aoe is, which if 5 players with aoe that also stack condition, that is too strong for any1 to handle. If it’s 1v1 or 2v2 its fine.

what profession are u playing that you can’t remove 15 stack of bleed or avoid or keep the thief from spamming all of their bleed on you?

I play trap ranger.
And the class I fear least is burst thief who only try to do that backstab trick to chip your hp. Invisible pistal/dagger and the death blossom thief that stack bleeds is way more threatening.
Condition gives me much more pressure than direct damage.

I’m not a guardian, so I do not have access to many reliable condition removal other than healing spring.
But when I face a guardian, I can bring down him pretty quickly with condition spamming (burning, bleeding, poison, daze, fear, kd)

Not to mention my least favourite class to fight 1 on 1 is condition mesmer that infinitely stack bleed/confusion through pistol phantasm and clones.

Not sure i 1v1 lots of trap ranger with as a condition thief and lost badly, 2 way to stack bleed for thief which is d/d #3 or p/d invi #1 which both have to be in melee range to combat. So if a trap ranger dominate melee and kiting fight i don’t see why u should lose as many other traps rangers and as for my personal experience as a condi thief lost badly to 1.

I’m not just talking about thief, I’m just saying that condition is pretty strong on certain classes such as mesmer, ranger, engineer.
And many bunker classes can hard-counter direct damage pretty easily, but got owned by condition spamming.
It is also a way for enemies to force enemies in combat and drop their healing capacity.

cuse i was in the matches, and i face so many stopid mesmers. they spaming stealth using burst no advantage disadvantage i try and kill but they doge me al time. they also has to many invulnrable abilitis. theyre so op they illusions do alot of damage to

also the thieves they hit me one shot i dead dead nochance.
i doge but they spam swoosh swoosh swoosh agan and agan i die((.
they have permannt stealths and they run away wen i try and hit and then wen out of stealths they has full hps.

im sry but mesmers and tieves are op. pls fix this becase i dunt lik plying game and not just me lots people. D;

I do agree a skilled mesmer is one of the toughest enemies you can face in spvp…
The infinite spam of illusions and condition, in addition to easy access to stealth and invulnerable, makes them one of the most fearsome opponents in 1 on 1 scenario…

Thief, however, only get their advantage in non-caping versus scenario…
Due to the nature of pvp in this game, it is easy to tell where the theif’s hiding because the capping circle is pretty small in many of the stages.
Thieves can be hardcounter by some classes true, but they can also counter many classes as well.

Overall I fear a mesmer much more than I fear a theif.

Many people mentioned thieves being extremely good in SPVP.
But frankly in SPVP, as a trap bunker ranger, I rarely lose to a thief in 1 on 1 scenario , especially in a position of defending a cap point.
They can only stand a chance when their spinning elite is ready, but still, I have a high chance of defeating thief in 1 vs 1 scenario

It’s like most melee classes post minor threat to ranger in SPVP. (Only hammer guardian can be troublesome sometimes)
That being said, mesmer is the class that post biggest threat to me in SPVP.
The never ending conditions and never ending illusions summoning (waste my traps) really causes me major trouble when I try to take down them.
Sometimes if they’re skillful enough, I almost always lose to them in 1 v 1 when he’s fighting in defend position. (standing at a point guarding that point alone)

Guess one class beats another…

Stealth update: pet F2 skills

Am I one of the only few rangers this won’t affect?

I only use pets with a 20-30 sec. cooldown in WvW. I’ve come to learn the drake hound is much more effective than the wolf.

I’m sure I’ll be seeing less wolfs in WvW.

Then you should notice that your drakes are affected greatly by this nerf as well.
It’s not just the f2, but the pet’s own skills that would not recharge upon switching pet.

Since January 28 patch, drakes will ALWAYS use their tail swipe upon switching pet and upon recharged. But after this February patch, if you change your drake every 16 seconds, you’ll notice that your drake would not use their tail swipe attack right away because IT IS STILL ON CD.

Huge nerf for bears too.

Ranger Ninja Nerf (February Patch)

This is a UI bug, not ranger nerf

F2 may not have changed, but the pet still got nerfed.
Their own skills would not fully recharged from CD even after switching the pet.
Go try two lizards and switch it every 16 seconds and you’ll know what I mean.

Ranger Ninja Nerf (February Patch)

I think many rangers have already notice.

Since February maintainence patch:
OUR PETS NO LONGER HAVE THEIR SKILLS CD FULLY RECHARGED UPON SWITCHING PET. (This includes F2 AND pet’s own skills)
Even worse, they made this change secretly without giving the patch(nerf) notice.

The original and intentional design (the developter said that before) is that after we switch out pet, it’ll be refresh like a new pet with full hp and all their skills ready.
Now after you switch out pet, you will find out that your pet’s F2 would still be in CD if the skill has not recharge already.

I also tested and notice that my lizards will occasionally failed to use their tail swipe as their first hit upon switching pet (Jan 28 patch, personally love this until this ninja nerf occurs), proving that the pet’s own skills do not recharge upon switching pet.

I understand that Anet is trying to fix an exploit that allows ranger’s pets to stack buff duration by switching between pets in pet screen (off combat only).
But instead of finding an alternative solution to deal with exploit, Anet would go so far to ninja nerfing the pet system itself…

I would like to see a response from the designer himself about this “ninja patch”.
I would also like to see you fellow rangers’ commence of whether this is a fair action or not: secretly nerfing something just to fix an exploit, and not bother posting a patch note and explanation of why this is necessary.
