Attended/did not loot/ no mail <- Main event, got lagged out
Attended/looted/no mail <- Overflow later that night
Is it intended that people who looted the chest at the event, even several times, still receive a mail? Because a lot of people seem to. If so, I will hand in a support ticket.

Ok, I seems like everyone runs every dungeon but not SE. I’ve ran path 3 only, and I’ve been told the 1st & 2nd paths are very difficult. Could it be that most players don’t like the way the weapons and armors appearance look? Or the stats? Can anyone give me a reason why SE isn’t a popular dungeon to run.
Path 1 is not as bad as people make you believe Get some damage in your group and it is a piece of cake.
Path 2 has a very annoying last boss, that might make people not want to run it, me included.
So really, this thread is nothing but people whining about their desired boring way of killing a boss being changed.
This change made a boring boss just… more boring.
Changing a desired boring way into an even more boring way of finishing the boss is not the right way
Making fights actually challenging is what should be done!It is only boring because you are doing it wrong.
Let me clarify this:
I do not do the boss wrong, and I might add: I am not a player having trouble with ANYTHING if I run with MY group
But the whole mechanic is simply flawed if it is NOT my group.
The boss is going down within a small amount of time with a group of players I know, playing the dungeon with PUGs will most likely not end in your desired way of killing, because:
People do not know how good everyone else is. Expecting something the person you expect it from is not capable of doing will result in failure, insults, quitting …
The change will not affect how PUGs attempt to finish the boss, why risk the above, if the safe route still available.
Besides that in my opinion the fight mechanic is boring, it is also not fit for PUGs, which destroys the experience for a lot of players. That obviously is not a good thing.

Did I complete the dungeon without having any trouble before the patch, was it very easy to complete? – Yes
Will I ever play it again? – No
Anet can stealth-tweak dye drop rate any day. It’s a speculative holder of value.
If you want security, sell it and buy gems. Gems is the only thing that: 1) Anet cant tweak 2) will forever increase in gold value
The 1) is not correct, but 2) is likely, because having their gems at a decent value gives profit to Anet
If it was true, then Anet should hire new engineers and if it is not… oh well.
As you noticed yourself, the argument works both ways as there exist different styles of play.
One side is losing, one is winning. The solution would be fixed prices, but that would make the whole thing a lot less exciting.
It remains to see if Anet cares or not, and if they are willing to step in (again).
If I were a player farming a lot and could sell the chocolate bar I found for more because of price manipulation, would I not be happy?
So I do not think it is necessarily a problem, would depend on the specific item and purpose, also on the price, not on the % increase.
By the way, I never talked about ‘a lot of money’, I simply put it in relation to fixed way point costs.
In other ways, manipulation will alienate players. I’ll take the example of chocolate and how shocking prices have been forced to swing. A new player that sees 10c chocolate for their cooking skills will probably have a good experience. Now consider it at 10x value. That’s some sticker shock, depressing, and I know I’ve had this encounter as I leveled my own crafting as I navigate the “bubbles”.
If this was true for every single item on the market, I would probably agree on the Anet participation part, because that would drive up the total costs for the ‘normal customer’ big time.
But as of right now there are very little ingredients controlled to this extent.
To grab your example: For cooking, you need 1 chocolate bar for every single of the 16 recipes. Should you decide to discover them all, buying chocolate bars for a price of 1 silver each, that would cost you as much as using 5 way points on level 80.
If buying chocolate bars for that price gets you depressed, you should stop playing the game before you reach level 80

Amassing skillpoints once you cleared the map for 100% is a pain.
When you have enough to create a legendary again, you have the amount of gold you need anyways.
Wrong attitude as in preventing you from enjoying this game without a preset group
There are tons of players out there who run sub optimal builds, nothing is ever going to change that.
If you start playing a casual game with that attitude, you will most likely not enjoy it.
This is easily the most ridiculous rebuttal on the topic I’ve ever heard. So basically you’re saying it’s a casual game focused on casual performance. So balance and gaming etiquette has no place in this game?
That’s good, so you wouldn’t mind running with a part who decides not to wear any gear whatsoever… bar a white level 1 weapon so they can activate their skills? Also, no traits… traits are stupid. Pulling up that pain breaks their immersion.
You don’t need gear to clear a dungeon. It can be done (it actually can). It may take an hour or 2 long… but who cares? You can’t tell people how to play. They like wearing white weapons… white symbolizes purity. It’s how they enjoy playing.
No sarcasm here, the answer to that is yes, I would not mind.
Besides the fact that no one would do that, you got the wrong attitude aswell

You should look into mat and lodestone transformation.
You are going to run out of skillpoints before getting rich though
Found a way to turn 1 skill point into 1G.
Take advantage of this crazy inflation right now while it lasts. It’s printing money for me at the moment.
1G? Seems like you found something special, usually 1 SP translates into a little less than 0.5G.
What are you going to do once you ran out of SP though? You will not be able to craft a legendary item anymore
They said it, but they stated it is bugged along the lines somewhere.
And as I was saying, give players from lower level tiers loot for their current max level.
It is for the challenge. No other reason to play higher levels except the challenge.
The drops stay the same, be it a bug, but drops do not improve with difficulty at the current time.
Let people play levels together with their friends without hindering the progress of some by replaying over and over. The dungeon itself is designed to stop you from progressing, by difficulty of the mobs, not difficulty of finding groups.
No reason to let people not play higher difficulties even if their own is lower.
If I were here to make a serious suggestion:
Give loot equal to the current level someone is on, upon completing the higher difficulty, up that level by one.
Perfect solution. People cannot farm more by joining higher difficulties, people find groups faster, no one loses, everyone wins.

Finding a group for your own fractal level is not casual anymore.
It requires hours of active group finding grind.
Edit: To take this one on a level worthy of discussion, see my second post below.

I don’t feel your pain.
You’re perfectly efficient without those rings, if you’re a good player. Why raging so much?
Those do not need arguments are rather unneeded, you know.
Could aswell just tell everybody to stop playing the game.
RNG on the rings was a bad idea, Chris Whiteside admitted that openly. What are you guys even talking about?
my opinion of magic find. I don’t care if you run magic find or if you don’t, its up to you.
play the game how you want to I really hate these threads about how your supposed to play the game or what to wear or whatever.
its a game people try having fun. quit stressing out about what other people do
Each player contributes to a TEAM. kittening yourself is kittening the TEAM.
If you start playing a casual game with that attitude, you will most likely not enjoy it.
Then again, if Anet took MF gear out of the game, it would not affect the casuals at all, but the more dedicated players were a little happier
Thats my 2 cents, lol
Have you thought about the possibility of him using yellow MF gear?
To answer your question: The most effective way to obtain the legendary is not spending any money on other things.
Since there is basically no requirement gearwise to farm money in Orr, yes does make sense.
Then again, I personally would not be able to enjoy the game without my epic looking gear
It was getting pretty abused. We had some solid metrics on it, and decided to kill the loot from one of the bosses in an attempt to slow it down.
It was indeed a hotfix.
So you actively look for the ways people are making coin and then remove or lessen it? That’s pretty scary. If that’s the case I think it will be a long time before I get over 10 gold pieces.
About 2 weeks ago, I spent all my money on a full set of berserker armor and fine transmutation stones so I could transmute it onto T1 cultural armor. I was set back to ~7s.
I now have 16g in the bank. I don’t do anything special—I do a mix of content types, but I don’t sell off large piles of crafting materials—I stockpile them for later use.
My wife had 7g before she reached 80, just from playing content at her pace.
You can do it, but there is no special solution—you jsut play the game because it is fun, and then you will find that you earn coin as a byproduct…
Unless you play like my son, in which case excessive waypointing, poor loot management, and frequent dirt naps will take their toll on your finances.
I do not think anyone would deny that you increase the gold you carry around with you just playing the game.
But I think the point being discussed here aims more in that direction:
Playing the game rewarded you with 16g in 2 weeks, so in case you wanted to aim for one of the more expensive legendaries, you would have to play the game for roughly 2 years, in case the prices stay the same, which they will most likely not.
Okay, finished the first path now, pretty cool so far. Like the icy dungeon
Found a group after 2 hours, but 2 people left after the first boss, searching again!
Not talking in my native language it is so very hard for me to express how sorry I feel for you having the need to behave in this manner to earn a few gold ingame.
Oh, I enjoy the dungeons. I do not understand all the commotion about them, there are a few path I would not play again, but exploring those for the first time is still exciting.
Hardest part is finding people, willing to play with me
You do realize that these people were/are willing to give away alot of information just for the sake of sharing?
You did not receive any more than you would have received being a normal human being.
Hello, still aiming for my dungeon master title!
Anyone interested, give me a call
I got it! It is RNG!
The conversation our party had while doing those circeled around the dungeon designer’s personality and various things we would have liked to do with him, better not to mention in this forum.
Wow, what a run.
No surprise noone plays that. Ever again. For all eternity. I looted 2 blues from the last chest.
Figures, but you gotta start somewhere
One more person needed.
Yes, I ask for this here, because I cannot find anyone ingame willing to do it.
Would be cool, because I wanna work towards my dungeon master title
Race: Norn (biggest model)
Sex: yes … (Male)
Class: Warrior
Clothing involved:
-Priory breastplate, purchased from the priory armor vendor, heavy (lvl 80)
-Heavy Aurora Pauldrons, purchased from a Karma merchant in Cursed Shore, heavy (lvl 80)
Problem: Armor shining through the pauldrons (screenshot)

Tip: Do not buy chocolate bars right now ^
Heh, at least you got one.
If I had to take a wild guess I’d say the drop rate is 25-30%. If you’ve gotten, say, 10 daily chests and no ring you’ve simply had a string of bad luck, you might get two in a row next time.
Are you seriously complaining about wrong stats? ^^
At least your progress is not blocked.Progress toward what exactly? The ring with the stats you want is the best item that drops in the dungeon. That’s the whole prize, agony resistance is simply a means to that end. Yet you can do level 10 and 20 dailies without agony resist and get the rings. From what people have said, level 30/40/50+ dailies give the same stuff as 20. If grinding to endlessly high fractal levels is what you’re after then yes it’s blocking your progress, if getting an ascended ring to upgrade your exotic is what your after then the RNG nature of the ring stats is blocking your progress.
I am after endlessly high fractal levels, therefore it is blocking my progress.
Getting tired of posting this, but same problem here!
It is like an addiction, posting in every thread mentioning this issue.
Your character looks almost like mine!
That being said: Give the game time to improve, I do the same.
Noone is interested in gold. If you want to farm gold, fractals is not the place.
Fractals is about getting tokens and ascended gear.
Supporting this.
Did some 20+ fractals and received two of the same ring, they were both pretty good for a Guardian however I was annoyed to see you could not equip both.
I don’t see the need for a “unique” tag on the rings, considering how difficult it is to attain them anyways.
And that is the sad part. It is not even difficult, it is simply random.
Are you seriously complaining about wrong stats? ^^
At least your progress is not blocked.

Heh, at least you got one.
Smart farmers never make more money than anyone playing the TP, in which way ever, just saying
That is what I am saying, you hope for the money shot, and it will eventually come. Yet it is not entirely reliable.
If you found an item niche, of course, will work for some time. I found that too for specific items for a short time.
But the supply just is not there to keep it up.
You labeled it as gold per hour, but buying up the items you need to play the mystic forge game should be considered in that estimation.
Doing thus would not let a number like 20g/h pop.
(edited by BUTTERBLUME.3217)
There is no reliable way of making money with the MF unless you throw skillpoints in it.
Prices go back to normal? They did.
Did you think normal prices = when everything was cheap?
And I saw a bulk of 20 bots today, so I guess they are coming back in swarms. Did not see any for some time after the banning though.
Yeah…..it’s irresponsible to ask gamers to give the amount of time it takes for a legendary. These weapons are unreachable for a person like myself with college. I would have to agree that the only people with a legendary as of today are either rich irl and purchased in game money or are unemployed with 8+ hours a day to waste.
You forgot bugexploit!
