It is over powered. Straight and Simple.
It offers mobility, High damage, Strong Defenses, and Strong condition removal.
While the counter is to carry a reliable stunbreaker and stability, the amount of times you can stun an enemy compared to the actual amount of times you can use stability and stunbreakers are unequal by far.
Does it need to be fixed? I think it needs minor changes to balance it out.

I seem to have no issue beating them and I am hammer, I lack the burst but, this build is insanely easy to read. L2P and try paying attention.
I have never said I had been killed by this build. There is no L2P issue here. There is however, a balancing issue in dire need.

I have a hard time agreeing. Warriors are a force to be reckoned with now, they offer massive pressure, and they are scary, people cant smash buttons and expect to win anymore, this game is about ability management, if you’re coming out to wvw/spvp w/o more than 1 stunbreaker, I feel bad for you son.
The post I made only pertains to sPvP and WvW. I personally Carry 2 stun breakers at all times. (Dolyak signet + Shake it off). Also Warriors have always been a force to be reckon with, the low skill cap of Mace+shield/ Gs just increased the amount of bad players running a very Strong build.

I dont use this mace stun/HB thing as its very cheesy. But it was doable before just not like now with 4s of stun. People did it all the time before.
Also btw you are a bit late to complain on mace stuns. I mean what does mace even do besides stun? It has no dps burst/no good amount of dmg. Its slow and is ment to support your main weapon. You basicly give up a weapon slot to deal dmg and turn it into a stun/block thing to support your main weapon.
I actually wished mace was viable for dps but its just made for stuns and stuff.
3-4k Damage from Skull cracker is pretty significant damage.

This is the exact build I’ve been running in wvw for a little over a month. The only difference is I run knights armor with Lyssa runes, and Cav trinkets

I have a full set of Sentinel gear + exotic trinkets and most of the Celestial armor. I haven’t bound the Sent Gear because I haven’t found a use for it yet, Is there anything I can do with this armor that I can’t do with others? Or should I just sell it.

As a Main warrior I would have to say that the current state of Condition warriors is broken. 10 stacks of torment + bleeds + fire is a little much, it is more the runes of tormenting that need to be toned down rather then the warrior itself.

Bleeds is easy, you can hit 25 stacks if you wish.
But 10+ stacks of torment by a warrior is not possible as far as I know.
I just checked it out. The guy is using those new Tormenting Runes. He just kited me down. Oh well. Back to playing thief

Guildwars 2 allows players to change builds by reallocating points at a trainer for a few silver. Most PvP builds won’t work in PvE and vice versa.

You have a mobile build which allows you to escape. You have either sacrificed, a Shield, DPS, or CC +stuns to get said mobility. The thief hit you hard meaning he was Running full zerker, +zerker trinkets and if I had to guess D/D (assassins signet) Shadowtrap/Shadowstep, Shadow refuge. Maybe a Shadow signet in there somewhere. but None the less. He didn’t have a very mobile build. We all give up something to gain something else (atleast that is how it should work). Congrats, your build is working as intended.

Hello, I was transmuting my t3 armor on my Human Warrior and Was changing my PTV stats on the gloves with Knight’s stats but wanted to keep the T3 look with knight’s stat and the rune. Please revert it if Possible. It was just an honest mistake

I run main hand Air offhand force for D/D. But I also run full valks with hidden killer So My crit chance doesn’t matter to much. Try a bunch and see what works for you.

This is how i would engage.
I would push kittento the elementalist forcing them to mist form away/ down and mist form as soon as they down switch focus to mesmer and STOMP no matter what, by this time Warrior is either attacking me or Ele is already back up with warrior coming back to me. Focus the ele again as their downed skills are on cool downs while blind spamming the warrior if possible. Down the ele either by damage or stomp. Solo the warrior. Could work, has worked. Could fail, has failed.

Funny, but from rangers perspective on Thief i have exact opposite impressions.
I ran a thief just to learn how to counter them on ranger. Playing a thief only confirmed how op they are in ANY 1vs1.
(i play p/p //shortbow so hitting the air doesn’t help much. Stealthed or not, i always try to keep the 800-900 distance). Also i don’t even try to come closer, cause i simply don’t use any backstabs or other melee tricks, just pure range.See the difference between you and the OP is that you know how to play a thief. The OP doesn’t. If you’re going up against a Steal+CnD+BS thief and he loses, bravo, you’ve found a noob.
Thieves have an unrivaled ability to mulligan the fight and start from scratch. If they miss you on the first go-round, and they’re not a noob, they’ll leave and try again later (in a few seconds).
Sorry OP, but your “objective” view on thieves is overshadowed by your subjective skill ceiling.
What are you even talking about? I Don’t use steal+cnd+bs lol. I run P/D + shortbow?

Full glassacannon I can hit maybe 5-6k on another glass cannon with C+d.
So it is fair to assume he can hit a 20K+ Back stab?
Fact is Eviscerate is warriors go to skill for damage on axe, it is the damage.
For daggers It is back stab but this guy managed to nearly top my highest backstab with Cloak and dagger.

So I was just wvwing and got hit for a crap ton of damage instantly and died. How is this possible?
I Run a mix of Valk and PVT gear I have 17k Health with 2400 armor. I understand I have low armor but I have NEVER seen a cloak and dagger hit this high, what would his backstab of hit for?

they will never nerf warriors sword 2 or gs 3 + 5 because there are already issues with warriors not being able to stay on topic. If you can’t kite a warrior or apply chilled as an ele then that is your own undoing because all of those skills are effected by chilled/cripple.

Personally I wouldn’t waste the rune slots for boon duration for just fury and vigor considering we already have 100% uptime between SoR and FGJ. Vigor is nice and all but I only use warhorn as a switch for my shield for keeping swiftness up. it’s not that good atleast not better then a stun and 3 seconds of blocking/reflection.

No. It’s not money. It’s imaginary money. It’s the same as gambling about crossing the street and not getting hit by a car. Only it’s less of actual gambling because the “money” is only money if you decide it has real value. basically, if you decide that it does have value then you are creating the situation for yourself. A-net isn’t the one doing it for you.
It is very much gambling. The time, effort, and emotion put into the game is what is being gambled. Gambling doesn’t have to have a monetary value. To look at it simply as “oh it’s a game it doesn’t matter at all” is a little arrogant . Some people very much enjoy this game and for them to regain 10gold lost is like them having to farm CoF for 2 dreadful hours or get an extremely lucky drop which probably won’t happen. So while the value of the gold isn’t worth anything, a players time and effort is. People get fed up, people leave, value of the company goes down due to less revenue via Micro-transactions etc. So I guess it really does have a monetary value doesn’t it?

I run zerker armor and zerker trinkets with valk on every piece. It was difficult at the start considering i have only 2300 armor i run 10/30/30/x/x Now that I know what I can handle and what I should avoid and how to play better The zerker gear with the health from Valk has worked out very nicely

BP is a good warrior and makes a lot of intelligent post. That being said I respectfully disagree.
1: Anyone who thinks Stealth is OP is a fool. You can still hit a thief and as most thieves are set up, it is probably going to do significant damage
However vs a smart or experienced thief this is not the case. Honestly when I thief I lock off melee target assist walk through you when I stealth and dodge appropriately. Vs a strong Shadow arts build stealth will let you heal up and vs anyone. Using movement as their advantage the thief wont get hit. I won’t say stealth is OP but it does have its’ moments.
2: Thieves are really good at killing players new to pvp and wvw who have no idea about stun breakers and dodging. Anyone with a decent level of experience can see what a thief is doing and can either run/counter.
Sorry but this is incorrect. A perfectly played thief no one and I mean no one can run from forever. Even Sw/GS (I run this in wvw also with bull rush for added mobility) can run for a while but it wouldn’t last long if the thief brought the mobility an experienced thief has. There is no feasible means of escape besides water.
3: Some builds you just can’t kill 1v1. Same goes for my warrior. I can run in very quickly . Sword/Shield +Gs and run out popping stunbreakers, endure pain and shield stance and get away with barely a dent in my 32k Health
Agree, but very few can go near GC and do that. 32k hp would make you a bunker and to my knowledge that what bunkers do. They don’t Die in 1v1 and they don’t kill. With the exception of BM ranger and Phant mes. The only classes that could possibly go full or near full glass and not get killed are shatter mesmer and D/P thief (DD to a much lesser extent).
4: A thief that drops you fast, drops even faster. What do most GC thieves have for health? 11k Health? With maybe 2100 armor. Can’t get more glassy.
However if you read these forums for more balanced burst builds the HP you run with is 15k min. If you add in blinds and other tricks given how slippery the class is very few classes including warrior can burst a thief all by themselves. A good thief also keeps his escapes and will use them appropriately making bursting them nigh impossible. S/D burst ele can do it if the get in range so can some engi builds but outside of that not much else.
5: Playing a thief really changes your outlook on how they operate. When everyone says Play one to Learn one, They really mean it. When I got to 80 on my thief and spent a hundred or so hours in WvW with it, I was able to get back to my warrior and I could SEE WITH MY OWN EYES exactly what the thief was going to do before they could. It was so predictable “Okay he is using D/D and just used Cloak and dagger, probably going for a backstab in 3,2,1… EVADE” What do you know, He missed and i stun locked him with a hammer.
I played thief first so my outlook hasn’t changed at all. When I ran P/D it was called OP a few months later. I was DP 5 months ago before anyone even gave a kitten. S/D 6 months ago before the nerfs and the claims of how OP shadow return is. I have played most builds and the only class I have more hours on is ele. I love thief however, some of what is OP is simply OP. Its not about experience or playing the class. Many of us have 3, 4, 5, 6, 80s and we get it but at the same time its not like we are blind to what is really strong and what isn’t.
BTW not being rude but if you did that I would simply use shadowstep to break the cc hit a target and come back and gib you. If you were by yourself I might eat the cc if I managed to get caught which is unlikely. Earthshaker has a huge telegraph and slow animation. Hammer in general relies on chaos to catch people as an aware target will simply move or dodge. This is a common complaint among hammer warriors as it is. A thief as educed about your build as he is about your simply would not get hit.
Thief is not the strongest class out there in general. Even in Spvp it is somewhat useless. However, when we talk about WvW the story much change. “A Warriors Perspective on Thief” would be a more appropriate title, but you probably got over max character thing.
Took it respectfully. The tactics i’ve posted were simply my findings when fighting thieves as a warrior. It’s defenetly not perfect but it beats complaining about it on the forums 100%. I’m not saying thieves aren’t strong in some areas but they aren’t as all mighty as people like to think :P
