I’m hoping for Dwarves, however unrealistic that hope is. I love Dwarves. Their beards, man. They’ll get along famously with the Norn.
The trick is that they never left their stone forms. Armor merely changes the pattern of ores and crystals inset in your body, the chiseling of your stone to emulate armor and whatnot. It’d be complicated and time-consuming for devs to make from scratch, but I know it can be done. It’s just a matter of whether or not Anet wants to do that or not.
I respect either decision. Not a simple matter to make an NPC walk down a street, to say nothing of making a new race.
In absence of Dwarves, I like the Largos. The Tethyos Houses sound to be interesting chaps and their environment would herald more underwater zones, something great about this game.
I agree with you regarding playing Dwarves. I know my entire guild would return if we could play our favorite race. In fact Ive been waiting ever since gw2 was released to one day play my personal favorite fantasy race.
Far as lore I can see the ritual being reversed, or leave us in stone form with our hive collective conscious. Perhaps the living story could be the Dwarf advancing to release the ritual freeing him or her from the ritual’s spell.

EMP just ignore the trolls. Most of the community, especially the hard core pvpers, know what’s up. As guild that leads pugs, was formed from pugs, and constantly gives back to the gw 2 / jq community EMP has nothing to prove to anyone.

Wow even after all the transfers into BG , JQ is still winning. It must have alot of dedicated WvWers , or just too much players lol.
JQ was a solid T1 wv3 server since launch these other servers weren’t they are like average athletes that use steroids (transfers) to enhance their game play competitiveness but strip away the facade and all you have is a T5 or whatever server.
Except when the King (HoD) lost its crown everyone transferred to JQ because they were #2.
Check your history JQ received little to no transfers from HoD or ET when they collapsed. Most went to SBI, BG, or SoS. JQ for the longest time received no transfers and actually lost power guilds and players to other servers.

Thanks, it helped having a mature community with lots of pvp centric old timers sprinkled in with our always out there fighting spirit even when were out manned.
People act as if JQ is some juggernaut. Truth is we havent always been the number one ranked server. We’ve bounced around t1 month in and month out street fighting with HoD at it’s prime, ET when they were a serious contender, SBI when they were a ruthless number one ranked champion, and SoS when they went on that impressive streak of number one weekly victories. We have survived long queues, internal drama, and external challenges. No doubt without our new friends that have joined us over the last month our reign in t1, let alone our standing as the number one ranked WvW NA server, would have been at risk.

Nothing will ever beat the crotch grab emote from Shadowbane. I was a little surprised when the dude just stood there not finishing me off when he had the chance but it’s all good. I’ve killed so many people and been defeated enough that it’s just not a big deal to me.

Whats up with all the taunting by BG players on a defeats ? Ive been laughed at, danced on, slept on, and on occasionally left their bleeding as the BG Invader emotes me till I die. It’s like BG amateur hour out there now and far more closer to the 1st time BG entered T1 than the more laid back BG that was here last time in t1.

My suggestion is simple : we need to have a way to make the amount of kills we make in wvw matter. Its sad to see a system that is mostly rewarding for PvD servers more than for servers are are actually up to put up some fights.
An easy solution to that would be to implement a counter and make 1kill correspond to 0.1pt. Each kills made by players from a server would be added to each others during a match up, the total amount of those kills would then be added to the amount of points each server have at the end of a 1 week war period. The winner would then ofc be the server who managed to capitalize most points AFTER the kills addition.
(Nb of kills . 0.1)+Pts = final score
-Rewarding for servers who fight
-Motivate more players to actually go in the open field and meet their oponents
-Encourage the players to group up in organised guilds to optimize their field skills
-Nerf the impact of mindless PvD.

Regardless if they dont add to ppt. Which I swore I read months ago kills were added into the algorithmic score they account for forcing the defeated to pay repair bills and remove the opponent as obstacle in order to secure the object for points. We are planning to add more stat sets and appearance options that can be purchased with badges in the March update. We’re still working on the full list so I don’t want to dive into details yet, but it is something we’re working on.

I will throw in a few gold if we can get the old Tsym that roamed around in two – three groups back on DB. Those guys were awesome and would add right into the blue collar lunch-pail carrying JQ guilds always out there roaming and open field fighting against the large 40 man+ plus groups we constantly see the other servers running.

I think it benefits the guilds with larger numbers, it certainly helped FoO this morning.
SoR was outmanned on our home BL until I went and took a nap at 1 PM EST. Our off-hours team is small and lacks coordination as its a coalition of guilds since no one guild has more than 3 members on at that time. Usually we’re successful at holding half the BL simply by avoiding the orange swords on the map and moving around back capping what is taken.
But today JQ was running a 10 man supply camp team and 2 25 man tower teams. There were white swords everywhere on the map and no orange swords, as I said earlier we don’t have enough people to send scouts so we’re just moving around praying we run into an uncontested camp or the 10 man team. But we kept running into the 25 man teams and wiping, some of our more casual players got extremely kitten and left.
It certainly benefits organization over non-organization which is only going to compound the ‘coverage’ issue in this match up.
I guess if your looking for uncontested camps I could see why you might be upset. I dont know I guess I am used to pvp games that dont hold the players hand.
This isnt going to stop the 25+ man zergs, I hear ya on casuals getting discouraged on getting ran over, but it at least it adds a level of fog of war and opens the door for more roaming. Honestly if they removed all open field swords I would be happy.

Since in real life, people do that school, work, play, sleep, eat, socialize and do not exist in the virtual world 24/7; there will be quiet times. PvDoor is less satisfying, but the ppt must be fed. PvE is infinitely more fun, but prime times vary. Good day.

One of my favorite aspects of JQ is how you rarely see if ever ppt’s freaked out over or maintaining that number one spot at all costs talked about in game or on our server forum as well as within the community. You would never even know we are the current number one server nor the server with the most medals in t1 as well as most time spent in t1 as a server within our community. It’s a non issue. It’s the kind of environment many of us original JQers wanting to foster. Toughing out the long queues, the defeats, as well as the pressure winning carries, and drama from various sources over the months have paid off for the community. Especially after the transfers closed.
The only time we as a community got a little worked up over the wvw scores was when we were about to get pushed back to t2 for the second time in the SBI/BG match. We voted as a community with the consensus being to fight to the end rather than just accept an easier fight in t2.
Years from now in other games I know I will proudly be able to say we created something unique on JQ and I was an original JQ honey badger.
Years from now, no one is going to remember JQ, SoS, SoR, BG, KN. Heck 6 months later people barely remember HoD.
This is a game, if that is your life accomplishment you are hoping to cherish down the road, you need to re-evaluate your life.
Maybe you wont remember the gaming communities you have belong to six months ago but it’s not true for all players. Sure my gaming experiences could never replace experiences such as the birth of my children, my marriage, my home I own, the awesomeness that living in a world class city brings, and so on but as a gamer I still connect to and share a living mmorpg history with the communities Ive belong to from past games.
I still run across old vets from my past game servers. Of the games Ive played EQ’s Tallon Zek race pvp sevre circa 98-99 and Shadowbane’s Death Server circa 2003 were some of the more unique special gaming experiences Ive ever had. Many of the players from those servers and games still talk about the uniqueness in a mmorpg world we created.
I would have to throw WHO Ostermark circa 2009 was a special place to play as well. Many of the current JQ original core came together there. Pheonix Throne as another great WHO community. JQ, for me and others, will also be a collective experience many of continue to share be it in TESO, Archeage, EQ II next, CU etc.

SoR has a problem with some of their players joining your party in order to trash talk you. They’ve got a few bad apples in the bunch, best to accept the invite, and if they are simply doing it to trash talk you, report them for verbal abuse, take down the name/guild, and ask an SoR person about it. Despite the mean things we say about them, im sure most SoR players would want to see that person reined in a little.

I mean WvW is like pre school compared to more hard core pvp games Ive played so I dont get where anyone would want to chest thump over a kill in WvW. I run around solo or in small groups a lot. No one is immune from being defeated in WvW.
I’ve accepted party invites from opponents before. Most of them were nice people. It’s not fair to assume everything is random trash talk.
I’ve had at least 3 people from SoR party me to trash talk me. 0 Have ever done it for any other reason, and indeed in this thread alone you can see another poster who had someone from SoR join to trash talk him. (it’s in one of his screenshots)
Obviously there are other reasons to party people from other servers, and it is possible, that the player simply wanted to duel. However, its best to prepare for the worst case scenario, and thus I wanted to tell him what he should do if he encounters it again, and it is someone trash talking. Better to know what to do and not need to do it, than not know what to do eh?

Guys please from all three servers drop all the bickering. SoS / SoR / JQ all have a fun collection of leaders, guilds, and pugs with skill and relentlessness. There is no need to flex about this or that. All three servers have dominated each other at various times. We get it you took a Garrison on this date at this time or you flip a border land or you have 5000 badges and no deaths. /Clap all three servers bring it when they can so drop the egos, group hug, and let it go.

I cant speak for everyone but the vast majority over on JQ respect SoS as a worthy competitor. I dont remember anyone on JQ calling SoS a garbage server ( as you posted ). SoS got punched and pushed around after two months of dominating but unlike past champion servers I feel SoS isnt going to fall apart. I dont see SoS falling down to t2 easily or quickly.

I really enjoyed fighting the new BG last time they were in t1. Their collective attitude was just playing the game. Trolling was down on the WvW thread and over all there was civility. Hopefully it doesnt change much with AGG and FOE moving there.

JQ has always been a dam if you don’t Dam if you do server. When we lose we get trolled when we win we get disrespected but this is nothing like the abuse HoD took.

In light of the strong community response to the idea of a WvW ratings reset, the results of our ratings formula investigations, and our data on the current matchups we have decided not to reset the WvW ratings at this time. All existing WvW ratings will be preserved and the rating calculation methodology will remain unchanged. Any existing mismatches should be corrected by the system in relatively short order. Now that there is less volatility in the player base for each world we expect the quality of matches to improve more quickly. This is both because the rating system is operating in a less unpredictable environment and because more stable teams tend to produce better results.
The point reset won’t be taking effect, we’re fighting for T1 baby! Bring it!

I will say this though SoS’s presence on EB seems scared to attack JQ. I am NOT playing the we are getting 2v1 card, I just wish SoS pressured JQ more so we could get them off our lawn.
Right from the reset SoR were all over SoS towers, and every time we took SM you were all over ogrewatch etc. What do you think we are going to do when you take SM?
T1 WvW is very broken and lopsided right now though and most of us are not playing it aside from scheduled nights with guilds as its pointless fighting uphill battles trying to keep PPT against a server with 4x your numbers, so JQ can enjoy the boredom & wins at the expense of fun, and when there are forces to fight expect to be rolled as usual.
Still very upset they stacked like that and took all the competitiveness out of t1 scoreboard game when it was obviously very very tight after their first 2 big guilds joined.

Yep, JQ took the competitiveness out of T1, the sky is falling, we are all doomed, etc.
SoS won competitive games by 20k or less since that guild went to europe, and when they came back to JQ you may have won that game as it was down to 2k i think by the Friday? Yes thats competitive. Adding 20 guilds more to stack the server and make the games boring blowouts is not healthy to GW2 nor fun to anyone partaking in those games. So as i said, enjoy your boredom playing against doors. we will cyas for a few hours a night for our guild runs, but thats about it.

As far as Im concerned—- its a shame one of these three servers will have to ever flip back to tier 2. I have huge respect for BG—- but SOR/SOS/JQ I think have all proven all they have to prove this match. Scores have been tight— and no one server is really outside of beatable this week. JQ has the advantage as the only server with solid 24/7 coverage—- and Im not knocking them for it—- but the fact that they can hold such a crucial advantage and for the scores to still be this close really says something for everyone. So from SOS to JQ and SOR—- good fights….. actually, Great Fights!. Thank you!.
My sole complaints—- culling AOE is being used by all 3 servers. I don’t know that Id call it a clever use of mechanics since we all know culling is busted, but I struggle calling it an exploit either since its being used so much by everyone these days. In any chase, it does feel a little cheap. I hope Anets AOE nerfs get here soon, and I really wish they would find a way to fix culling—- but I suppose those are complaints for another thread.

JQ is OP. A better matchup would be BG, SoR, SoS. JQ is just a little too piled on. I’m sorry for saying this in advance great job to JQ for the recruitment and this is only addressed to some JQ that have transfered there during off peak hours…Not the whole server… but I hope you enjoy PvDooring cuz thats all your going to be doing. If you find PvDoor fun more power to you. consider moving to another server when you get bored of fighting no one. But your welcome to do whatever you want just don’t expect fun battles when there is no one to fight. But maybe you like fighting no one so just do what you do. grats.
Sorry your upset but the WvW scores are out of any one individual’s control. I wouldnt get all bitter and mad because it’s a 24/7 7 day server match not guild vs guild or individual vs individuals. Ive been looking at SoS and SoR’s population each day and night randomly and both servers are always full. Why SoS and SoR doesnt have full maps 24/7 is something only that server’s leaders can answer because the population is logged in 24/7.
Anyway the week isnt over yet but I wanted to say thanks to all the fighters from all servers for this week’s match. All three servers are worthy of t1 and are champions in their own right.
XD I think they are doing PVE thats why. I’m not going to get mad or bitter, I will just quit. Not going to fight overwhelming numbers, and I think a lot of other people will just hang up the towel as well. We don’t care about winning or losing, we just like to have fun 10 vs 90 isn’t any fun in that.
That’s too bad you would consider quitting. WvW is a zerg fest no doubt. As someone who runs solo or in a group in WvW I know feeling of constantly being out numbered. Servers in t1 have 40 person groups constantly roaming the maps.
I always read about the months in t2 SoR fighting thick and thin vs the full coverage of SoS and BG’s zergs consistently ending in second place. There was no quit then so why now ? This is one of the closes t1 WvW score matches we’ve seen and one of the best I just dont get all the anger in not finishing number one let alone number two. Winning in WvW is a fool’s illusion. What matters is enjoying the fight and playing with friends.

As far as Im concerned—- its a shame one of these three servers will have to ever flip back to tier 2. I have huge respect for BG—- but SOR/SOS/JQ I think have all proven all they have to prove this match. Scores have been tight— and no one server is really outside of beatable this week. JQ has the advantage as the only server with solid 24/7 coverage—- and Im not knocking them for it—- but the fact that they can hold such a crucial advantage and for the scores to still be this close really says something for everyone. So from SOS to JQ and SOR—- good fights….. actually, Great Fights!. Thank you!.

I’m tired of fighting JQ at this point not going to lie. While we fight our hearts out against guilds we once fought on other servers and have good fights, we go to sleep and wake up to +400 PPT and fully upgraded keeps from Euro Prime time. I know a lot of us try so hard to prevent this from happening but there is nothing we can do. VoTF and our other Euros fight a very hard battle and I have much respect for them. I hope SOS doesn’t get burnt out and that’s why I wish to get away from JQ even if it is just for one week. Even though I always play to win or by PPT, if we continuously get matched with JQs 24/7 coverage and all matches end the same way with a false sense of competitiveness on the weekends and a complete face kitten during our coverage hole, I’m just going to start playing to kill people and hope I don’t get burnt out.
on a Side not, Good fights out there. I see a lot of improvements on all sides of the table. a lot of three way battles on SOS BL. This match-up has been awesome so far.
You make it sound like SoS has been suffering at the hands of JQ for months. Before what, like two weeks ago, didn’t you guys have like a nine week win streak? After all that winning, two weeks is all it takes for you to get sick of us?
There were weeks on end where I felt the same way with SoS, before we had our recruitment. Entire borderlands taken when I get on. But I just kept on fighting, like the rest of JQ.
+1 SoS + SBI/BG defeated JQ ten out of twelve weeks if anyone is counting
