i heard rumors DB’s new faces run the show. i dont think the core can say much wether they tolerate it or not. Besides who cares, more egos and more ppl all rammed into 1 server in such little time, Its only a matter of time before it explodes just as kaineng did.

I would hardly call FA a bandwagon server. Anyways I am enjoying the battles with DB. It’s been a blast.

All good brother, EMP aka RE is having the same success you are having and a lot of people are hating on JQ. The only difference between you and rawbrah is you moved to a #2 T1 server and got it to #1. Rawbrah he brought a T3 server all way up to T2 and dominating T2 soon enough he will be in T1 and there will be lots of drama especially if RE owns our JQ NA guilds.

I’m pretty excited, because the only reason that I can think of why Rawbrah left JQ and brought a lot of EMP BEST commanders/ and players with him is because he got tired of living in FOO’s shadow.

All I have to say is SoR needs to goto T2 because they cant win anything anymore, they cant even place 2nd either, Dragonband needs to come to T1 because they are clearly DOMINATING T2, none of those servers even COMPARE to Dragonbrand because its a T1 fighting type server now.

We need to start this all out war FOO vs RISE vs RE, see whose guild carries the server to victory. WE need to settle this whose the best once and for all, just screw the wvw rankings, Dragonband should be moved to T1 and SoR moved to T2.

SoR has been consecutively been placing 3rd 60-70k away, while Dragonbrand is consecutively beating up servers by 60-110k. You tell me who moves up and who moves down.

110k huh? 60k yes but during NA prime time they break even or get beat. DB has coverage that TC and FA don’t have which is why you see the score differential. in open field fights we have had some fun battles with DB. I have enjoyed the last two weeks fighting them.

Also RE has been beat by T2 guilds…

Except point 11. We don’t need to incentivize bandwagoning any further.

Point 8 was half addressed last patch as there are 2 WvW dailies. And all dailies can be completed in WvW. And dailies provide laurels which can be used to get ascended gear (except backpack, needs to be added). We don’t need a separate wvw only daily the wvw dailies combined with the pve ones is fine as you only need to do 5. Adding one more wvw daily to bring it up to 3 would probably put it at the sweet spot. In addition to more wvw daily types (vet kills in wvw, camps captured in wvw – not towers or keeps, guard points captured in wvw)

Maybe once a week do we have a day where all the dailies can be done in WvW. That is not always the case.

Laurels do no equal badges. Anet has already come out and said that they are working on the system in which we can buy Ascended items with badges.

I dunno but you already get less repair bills and more loot bags while you’re winning. Fightin on a server that’s losin the match up is harder than fightin on one that’s winning. And the two bottom servers aren’t likely to get wins soon, are we just gonna put in a feature that punishes people for workin hard to build and maintain WvW communities on those servers?

Understood and agreed. I don’t want the losing server to be punished but I think there is a way to pull this off where getting first for the week actually means something.

Bad idea on the 20 hours – you would just have trolls and /afkers everywhere that log on for 20 hours for no reason just to get the reward. Better to include a WvW weekly objective list like capture “x” towers, kill “x” players, use “x” supply, etc. and then at the end of the week, give a chest reward based on where your server placed in the tier instead.

It was more of an example. I just want to have some incentive in winning the week.

Incentives to win become incentives to transfer.

So why WvW? In Daoc you had relics that gave bonuses to your entire faction. In Warhammer you could invade the opposing factions capital. In GW2 you can…. become a new color.

Bandwagoners are going to transfer if there are incentives or not. I don’t think this would increase the transferring. From a business perspective Anet might like additional transfers as it is money in their pockets.

Either way there needs to be a reason for winning. My server only cares about the open field fights and only plays the ppt so that we can stay in tier 2. We have no desire to goto T1 or to even win our tier. The reason? What good does it do me if I get first?

Well It looks like Anet has at least aknowledged some of these items.

2. For map position and server color, Anet said they are looking at switching things up.
3. Anet has admitted to the fact that looting in WvW is not ideal and that its on a list.
4. Another thread is going about obtaining Ascended items through WvW. Their answer was its coming ASAP.
10. I think most agree that arrowcarts are a bit out of line. Anet has admitted that some changes are coming quickly.

Here is to hoping that next Tuesday delivers some new WvW enhancements to get excited about… traps not being one of them.

Does Anet actually listen to the playerbase? No one asked for traps, or better arrowcarts.. A ton of great suggestions have come from this community and we get traps… traps, just wow.

You are killing the pvp in wvw. Its stale with no new content in site. Yet PvE gets new content monthly. We get traps and improved arrow carts which probably took a developer all of a day to program. Does Anet go OH LOOK its April 15th.. time to work on the WvW changes. End of day they are done with them back to all the PvE stuff.

I am sure a mod will delete my post because freedom of speech does not apply here and heaven forbid we criticize Anet.

I love my hammer but agree that it does need some tweaks.

1. I think our 1 ability should add a stack of confusion or vulnerability on the third swing and increase the speed of it by 15-20%
2. Fierce Blow is fine.. again could use a speed increase
3. I think Hammer Shock should root for 1 second without needing leg specialist.
4. I love Staggering Blow. Yes i don’t like the fact that it roots you in place. My only change would be to have it usable on the run.
5. BackBreaker needs its cooldown reduced to 20 seconds. If its left at 30 then make it AoE

I also think Merciless Hammer should be changed to

Hammer Damage is increased by 10%. Reduces cooldown of hammer skills by 20%

I bought this game called Guild Wars 2 back in August. I was really excited because it had character pvp in a gamestyle caled WvW. It reminded me of DAoC RvR.

What I have experienced over the last week would be a game called Siege Wars 2. Its a game where you level up siege abilities and sit and wait at an arrow cart trying to kill other arrow carts. Part of the game is to surf the interweb while waiting for something to happen because all other players playing Siege Wars 2 are bottled up in tower and keeps and don’t come out to fight.

I think it might be a little early to jump to this conclusion. I would like to be able to see the ranks of people on my home world though.

I don’t think people need any more incentive to WvW than what’s already provided, honestly. There’s plenty else to do in the game that offers what you’re asking for that is just as if not more accessible to people.

Communication and / or more commanders is always an option too. I’m not sure why Commanders feel like they should get special privileges.

5. The wxp system is terrible. I probably sound like a broken record but comparing this system to the many others in mmos shows how boring and lacking it is. Its not too early to judge it… for many its too late as they either don’t even care about it or left the game. In DaoC when someone hit realm rank 7+ everyone gave a huge congratz cause it was an accomplishment. I know guys who are already rank 100 and they just mentioned in passing. “Oh hey I just dinged 100” and no one really even cared.

11. There is absolutely no reason to win the weekly match in WvW right now except to stay in your tier or move up a tier. From a server perspective, there should be some reward.

12. Ever see someone hiding behind a corner and you dont actually see the person but you see red text of “penwood Squire” Or watch a wave of red names coming over the next hill.. too much text in this game. Needs to be toned down.

13. I am a commander and I hate the typed out commands.

14. Commanders don’t feel entitled or privileged. We want better ways to lead and organize as well as just lead our guilds in battle. Having a commander tag is great for following and allowing members outside of your party to know where to go… but it also sometimes draws unwanted attention. That is why I feel there should be guild command tags as well.

3 havoc squads on a map can frustrate the hell out of a zerg. I think part of the problem is that the maps are not big enough to the point that zergs can respond very quickly to a situation.

Nothing said is really doing anything to make it more fun other than adjusting the maps. The whole WvW meta is just too focused on zerg vs zerg combat. Everything on the list is really just bug fixes and tweaks.

We need the whole WvW ruleset changed to make the map itself more engaging. Something to encourage zergs to split up to take different objectives at the same time. Make it so you can’t rush in and take SM you need to first have all your stuff. Just things to add some element of strategy and tactics to the game.

Right now I feel like WvW is nothing but a game of cat and mouse where the cat is a giant 50+ player zerg and the mouse is a giant 45+ player zerg running around the map in a circle in the same direction until one catches up to the other. And unfortunately, those of us who like to roam and do smaller scale stuff end up being ran over by these zergs while they accomplish next to nothing.

Having played a lot of pvp mmos I can say that this is really hard to pull off. Zergs are part of world pvp in any mmo that offers it.

World pvp is getting boring. I had hoped that this last patch would add more incentives and content to keep us interested. Last night in Ts3, people just sounded bored and disappointed with the patch and its attention to WvW. To be honest the only amazing thing that has occurred in WvW since launch is the fixing of culling. Everything else has been subpar and not to the levels people had hoped for. I am seeing guilds shrink in size due to lack of interest in the game. My guild use to be able to field 10-15 on a nightly basis. We are lucky to have 5 on now and we are a small guild. Below is what I think would help WvW and bring players back..

1. We have 2 borderlands, Eternal Battlegrounds and then one that is recycled 3 times. Can we get 3 unique borderlands? It would also be nice to see some underground dungeon borderland or labyrinth similar in concept to EB in the future. You keep releasing new dungeons and pve content… Can we get new WvW content?

2. Randomize each week which server will be which color instead of first always being green, second blue etc.

3. We need a way to auto loot during WvW. Being a warrior, I can’t even begin to give an estimate of all the bags I have lost and in all honesty it is a pain. Please allow us to auto loot by just walking over the loot bag in WvW. When I am in a zerg battle I am hitting my normal attack keys and spamming F at the same time.

4. You promised us a way to get ascended items in WvW back in November. Please make it so we can spend our badges on ascended items and please do not introduce ANOTHER currency. Also can we get an ascended back slot like the fractuals one. Not even the current laurel vendors offer an ascended back slot.

6. Some classes still need a lot of help in WvW. I won’t go into details as I believe Anet is already aware of this.

7. Thin out the pve mods in pvp. Nothing is more frustrating than attacking a thief right as they stealth and instead hitting a freakin gold moa and now I have a thief AND moa on me. Or having someone rally because they killed a pve mob.

8. Add more WvW daily quests so we don’t have to leave wvw to finish them.

9. Can we get more armor and weapon skins that are equivalent to what we see for the dungeon vendors and fractuals.

10. Arrow carts should not be able to damage siege. With yesterday’s patch, an arrow cart can take down a ram before the door is even close to 50% now. I think you went overboard on arrow carts but I will wait and see on this.

Ascended Gear... none again?

@Devon Any reason in particular why adding ascended gear to WvW hasn’t been done yet? Maybe a reason past “you have to trust us” would give the WvW community some peace of mind.

My bet is it’s because they’re working out the details on adding another gated currency type for WvW. Currently, Ascended items are time gated with limits on fractals, guild missions and laurels, which is obviously intended to stretch out how fast players can obtain these items for each character.

Badges of Honor have no time restriction. As long as there is a player to kill in WvW there is a badge to obtain. So, they can’t just drop Ascended items on a vendor that costs badges, unless they set the cost ridiculously high, which might not matter for many players who are sitting on thousands of badges but at the same time would hurt new WvW players. I don’t see them going this route.

My take on things anyways for what it’s worth.

Assuming your right and they did add a new currency, I would hope they think it out very carefully. If it is something farmable in WvW the meta would change once again to cater to that and might not be best for WvW. I have faith they will do what they think is best for this issue, I was just hoping to sneak a little bit of info out of Devon :-)

And therefor have nothing to spend badges on again? What’s the point of badges except to equip out ATLs and buy cheapo skins?

In November it was mentioned that ascended gear was released in a poor way and that Anet would be correcting that. 5 patches later and we still have nothing to spend our badges on or acquire ascended gear without doing pve. Many of us are sitting on thousands and thousands of badges in hopes that one day we can spend them. Right now it’s clutter in my bank. If the intention was to force me to buy more bank space then you won.

FA has beaten TC. TC has beaten FA.

It is very, very, VERY tempting for me to add the numbers of how often FA beat TC and how often TC beat FA. But I’m not gonne do that, no, I’m not!

This implies that FA actually cares about the score…. We care about the score, only to the point that it drives us staying in T2. But our number one goal is the battles we get.

DB we have had some awesome battles this week. It’s been refreshing.

Being a TC WvWvW player all the time. I can say this is the first week that there has not been any 2v1 in EB. Unlike previous weeks. (don’t mistake an easy opportunity and points, for ganging up!!!)

Finally FA commanders have woke up, Brought some more guilds to their server (that had to put a dent in your pockets) and have been fielding a lot of people in their Zurg.
You are still opportunists and wont make a move till someone else does and attack their weak side. (not saying it’s a bad thing) I think they are finally understanding that ignoring kain isn’t gonna work.

Kain though, has been absent for some reason. Yes, they flip SM from time to time but their zurg has been missing. WM has not been fielding a full group which is hurting the whole server. Hence, the rumors of them jumping ship!!

TC Where are you? You are currently in second, you are outmanned most of the day and cant fend off the FA zurg lately (a zurg you have dominated in previous weeks). You could dominate Tier 2 if you could field a zurg 24/7 like the other Top PvP servers.
But again, TC is a RP server. I think that what really annoys the other servers .
GOOD!!!!

I guess I will repeat myself.

One guild transferred back to FA last week after being away for months which was PTX.. As stated,they field about 5 people each night. We didn’t pay for it so our pockets are still full of gold.

VK wasn’t a transfer.

The increase in numbers for FA is due too some of our hardcore WvW players coming back as a result of the culling patch.

FA isn’t really getting transfers Arkanfel

Either you’re getting transfers, or guilds that never used to WvW are starting to do so regularly. I have seen far too many new faces in the last few weeks to believe that FA is not growing its WvW presence.

The transfers we have received in the last couple of weeks have all been guilds who were on FA before.

VK returned from their one week vacation inT8. They were previously part of RET.
PTX transferred back last week
AoN came back a couple of weeks ago.
ACE is a break off of a another larger FA guild.

We have also seen a couple of launch guilds that have always been on FA come back into WvW as of late.

If we did get new transfers then we aren’t aware of it.

The devs have said multiple times that they want players to have the ability to react to powers. iberserker has a .25 second delay for this exact reason. Dodge is not getting nerfed.

You never understood the FA mentality and you still don’t. We never said TC was evil. We said we hated TC… big difference. Hell we might be the evil server but thats our mentality. Either way its win win.. you left and TC got you. Everyone is happy.

In the end I am sure TC will love your ability to roleplay drama.

Btw TS erupted in laughter watching you jump off a cliff last night. It was very fitting.

The problem with this is you lose the support of those that resent the “FA is the bad guy mentality.” It’s too controversial to label an entire server as such when so many of us don’t want it.

I always thought FA’s mentality was “quality over quantity” and never give up. Give us a close third place finish over a first place blowout any day. This is the mentality that captured the attention of our IoJ and it was a mentality that everyone could agree on.

Just my two cents anyways.

I agree. Not saying that evil encompesses what we are… but we did rain on the yak parade back in the day and laughed until TC took everything that belonged to FA in revenge.

All I am saying is that how FA thinks and works is not for everyone. I think most of us that call it home right now all love it and love the tight knit community that we have.

The devs have said multiple times that they want players to have the ability to react to powers. iberserker has a .25 second delay for this exact reason. Dodge is not getting nerfed.

I run in an organized zerg ball with about 10 other hammer warriors. We all stack toughness and vitality. I am a 10/0/30/30/0. Zergs wash over me and my job is melee cc for our dps. It works very well. Not a good build for 1v1 but great as a support cc warrior.

Here is my two cents.

I play a hammer bunker warrior that runs in an organized Zerg ball in WvW. I trait very heavily into the defense and tactics tree. My biggest gripe is that the default traits in the tactics tree all revolve around reviving someone which is very situational instead of having tactics the warrior would have in effect all the time. I revived twelve people last night over a three hour span. Not very helpful for the other two hours and fifty eight minutes when I wasn’t reviving someone.

Here is my suggestions.

1. Change out the adept default tactic of determined revival with desperate power.
2. Change out the master default tactic of fast healer with empowered
3. Remove revivers might and give us the grand master default tactic such as Gain protection for 3 seconds whenever you are disabled. (stun, daze, knockdown, knockback, launch, float, sink, fear). This effect can trigger once every 5 seconds.

I know my next suggestion is a big one but we really need a gap closer on each weapon set. Right now we have too many problems closing the gap… We remove movement impairing effects and they get applied twice over before our cool downs are up.

So you accuse others of double teaming and then deny it for yourself. How does that makes sense? FA never double teamed with IoJ any more then there is double teaming going on now. All you folks stand around with a tiny perspective of the battle and assume it is the entire picture.

The game is a 3 way battle, fights happen, it’s fun, enjoy it.

They openly admitted it at the time.

If you believe that then you are still getting trolled for something that happened months ago.

Lmao…way to pump FA up with a load of crap. You guys are losing being your bad, don’t confuse that for a 2v1…no wonder why you guys lost guilds.

What guilds have we lost? Right none. We had two large guilds break into smaller sets, one of those taking a vacation in t8 for the week. Also one of our guilds that transferred off FA months ago will be back for reset Friday and we also have a large SEA guild that is transferring players over as we speak. Get all the facts first.

Either way we like the blood bath going on. The only reason we pay attention to the score is so we can stay in T2. Otherwise everyone on FA just wants to pvp and not pvd.

Well the first WvW patch is upon us. Many of us experienced it in full yesterday. Here is my grade on everything

Culling is gone: A

Wonderful job here. Please give the Devs a bonus. We had massive zerg fights last night and could see everything. We didn’t have to worry about culling bombs or anything. In teamspeak it was mentioned over and over how awesome the new engine was. Only negative was the crashes. I crashed four times last night. Everyone in my guild crashed at least once. Get rid of the crashes and I would give this an A+

New WvW GUI: B-

I like the new GUI for WvW. Its helpful to see how each borderland is broken down. This would be an A if we could actually see the WvW map from this page as well as a web page on the guildwars2 site so those folks like me who work an 8-5 job could see it. Daoc did this back in the day and still does.

WvW Leveling System and Abilities: C

I’m glad to see a WvW system similar to other mmos BUT the abilities are boring and lack creativity. I hope you are working on additional abilities.

New WvW items purchased with badges: C+

Its great to see other Armor types that can be purchased with badges. However I am not a fan of adding 2 different currencies to purchase one item. When I buy a pair of pants, it doesn’t cost me 25 dollars and 13 euros. Also when will we see new stat combinations like Power, Toughness and Condition? Still nothing new to purchase here and some of us are sitting on thousands and thousands of badges. I know some guys with over 6000 badges.

New WvW Skins: F

Epic fail here. Great idea, terrible execution. So I get lvl 80 items and put low tier skins on them… I hope you plan on enhancing and filling this out more because the skins available were laughed at by about everyone in the guilds I ran with last night. Can we get at least the dungeon armor skins?

Overall I would give this patch a B.

The culling fix makes the patch worth it. I look forward to whats in store next with WvW.

I rolled a warrior… Not because of any nerf to mesmers. I see one nerf and its across the board for all classes. Why is everyone overreacting to this.

Mesmer is still my main and I destroy warriors in WvW

Since the last one was locked stating it wasn’t a bug report, I will start a new one as a bug report

Illusionary zerker has two undocumented changes/issues.

1. The finisher to iberserker is no longer activating or showing up in the tooltip. This was not documented in the patch notes.
2. The damage output on iberserker is lower. Illusion is either missing on its last attack or overall damage has been reduced by 20-40%.

Issue has been noted by multiple mesmers in the forums as well as mesmers in my own guild.
Users have noted the below and I quote.

using the same gear pre patch zerker did 3900-4400 in that range. after patch 2700-3000. all i did was put 3 zerkers on a training dummy and watch the numbers.

Before patch i would put 3 zerkers on the lions arch training dummies and they would each do 4400 damage, after patch they do 3000. they are doing the same amount of hits just less damage.

Usually hitting for 4k+. Now can barely hit 2k.

Can we have someone look into this or give us an explanation please. This would be two undocumented nerfs to the same ability. And also us mesmers cringe with every patch because for the last 4 releases you have broken iberserker every time.

I am seeing the decrease in damage at around 50-60%. My other mesmer buddies have noticed the same. This needs to be fixed. I really don’t want to spend gold to goto another build right now.

Myself and two other mesmer buddies have all noticed the iberserker decrease in damage. It is hitting for about 50-60% less in damage then before. Can we please get an update or something that Anet is looking into this?

I used to hit for 6k-8k damage before on it. Now the max i have seen has been about 3k.

Once in awhile I will see spatial surge ignore los but its random and only lasts for a sec. Illusions I have not seen spawn without Los.
