We are looking for players exactly like you. I run a PvX guild very close to what you are describing. The only catch is that we are on Tarnished Coast. If there will ever be the most minute chance you’d consider transferring at any unknown point in the future, definitely hit us up for a trial membership. We have several non TC members that use us for PvX with out the WvW, which you can easily do now. But we are also in the process of developing a great WvW roaming team now and our veteran WvWers are training up newer folk like yourself.

I enjoy PvP but I’ve never been on a PvP team or guild.

I’m currently rank 60, and have 150+ ranked match wins on both guardian, warrior and mesmer, so for the most part I’m pretty decent at playing my builds.

He’s being empathetic for backpack not being able to play with the abjured due to age requirement. It is a bummer. But yes, kudos for starting a new team.

My name is Josh, I’m also a father (my oldest is eight), and I’ve been playing GW2 since launch and played GW1 before that. Never tried Eve Online but I’ve heard good things about it.

I run a tight knit, family style PvX guild on Tarnished Coast. I know you are looking for something on FC, but with the mega server we’d be able to do everything together except WvW. So if you are interested I’d love to have you check us out for a week or two.

We have 75 members, and usually we have about 50% of them online within that past 24 hours. We are social, helpful and run 4 weekly events at 7pm PST, in which we use mumble. We have several married couples, some parents and college students. We also have many veterans and we tend to play semi hardcore, but with as many new people as we have in the guild we are very good about taking dungeons etc slower to help coach and explain boss mechanics etc.

I’m not sure if your daughter also has a guild or not, but we’d love to have her too if yall are both interested.

Although I’m on another server (Tarnished Coast) I do lead a PvX / WvW guild (Dragon Empire Alliance) similar to what you’ve described. We have around 70 members, mostly in college or married with kids etc. We are fun, friendly, social and have 4 weekly events starting at 10pm EST that tackle guild missions, dungeons, fractals, pvp, WvW etc.

Being on separate servers will still allow us to do all content together except WvW. In the past we’ve had many members from other servers try us out and loved our community, many eventually transferred to TC.

We all go by real first names, we use mumble for events and even have a private facebook group for those wanting to connect outside the game. I think 40 of 70 are on facebook.

I run a Semi Hardcore PvX guild on Tarnished Coast, Dragon Empire Alliance. We have 4 weekly events at 10pm EST that cover dungeons, fractals, eotm, wvw and missions. We have many veteran and solid new players that run dungeons and fractals daily.

The only potential issue is size. We want to maintain a tight knit atmosphere so we aren’t aiming to be a mega guild. Right now we have 70 members and aim to cap around 150 (which would leave 25-30 on during prime times.

Right now, because people are able to join/leave/swap teams, Practice Mode is more difficult, frustrating and toxic than Play Mode.

Practice Mode is supposed to be the beginners arena for people to play more casually and really ease their way into PvP. But the constant un even matches, land slides, and folks spamming to just leech off of a winning team makes it more frustrating for everyone.

There’s got to be some way to improve and keep a Practice Mode that doesn’t teach people bad habits and enable players to leech off of landslides.

About DEA ~~~> Lots of info on our website DragonEmpire.us, but in short we are a medium sized PvX guild. We are friendly, have many vets and solid newer players, many just coming back to the game. We focus on community, so we go by first names, use mumble and even have a private facebook group. We run 4 events a week that hit dungeon, fractals, missions and WvW.

About TC ~~~> TC was originally the unofficial RP server so we had tons of stability and have always been friendly. Over the past two years we have worked our way up from T3 WvW to T1. Many guilds from other servers have been migrating here, so we have pretty decent WvW coverage around the clock, although NA time zones are still our strongest.

As far as guild size goes we recently reopened recruitment and are looking to keep growing, but we also like to be personal, so we will probably never aim to be a mega guild. We are also in the process of developing our core WvW group. We have many veterans to help get it rolling but as a guild we are still building this aspect of guild life.

My name is Josh, I run a PvX guild on Tarnished Coast called Dragon Empire Alliance and we are in the process now of adding more WvW to our schedule with 2-3 raids a week in addition to dungeon and mission night.

A bit about us, we’ve been around for 8 months and we were originally founded by merging two guilds together, hence the “alliance” in our name. In fact I used to advertise looking to recruit smaller guilds but they were rare to find so eventually I stopped. As of now we have 70 members from what used to be 4 different guilds.

As far as server stability, it is good. Having been the RP server and working our way from T3 to T1 over two years has helped keep us healthy, we are continually getting more guilds transferring here.

As far as guild stability we are good too. I’m a GW1 vet and have been playing GW2 since the head start. We have an 85% rep requirement. 75% of our members have played in the past week and 50% in the last day. Those that take extended breaks over two months get temporarily removed until they return.

We are very friendly, play competitively with a casual attitude. I’d love to talk more and answer any questions you might have.

I run a PvX guild on Tarnished Coast, similar to what you are describing. We have a 65 man roster, with about 10-20 actively online during NA prime times. Members are from all NA time zones, so our early birds pop on around 6pm PST, we host guild events from 7-9pm PST, and then usually we’ll have people on until midnight PST.

Very friendly, use mumble, 4 weekly events, good mix of new and veteran players. We run dungeons, fractals, eotm, missions, world bosses, pvp and wvw.

I run a tight knit, competitively casual PvX guild on Tarnished Coast, right now we are moving to hop into WvW more, with 2 raids a week (Wed and Sat). I’m in need of more WvW veterans to help coach with builds and set a good example and maybe help guide our raids.

I’m in desperate need of WvW veterans that are able to help with builds, tactics, coaching and being good role models. If you are interested in running seriously, but on a relaxed schedule with an upbeat atmosphere please contact me. Raid nights will be Wednesdays, Saturdays and some Fridays.

After 8 months of mainly running dungeons, fractals and pvp, our guild is finally pushing for organized WvW raid nights! This is something I’ve been been longing for, for quite some time.

Before the change, I only had to bump my recruitment thread a few times a week to keep it on the front page. Each bump would bring in 20+ views, and 2-3 interested players.

Now, after half a day my ad is back on the second or third page, only get’s 1-2 views and I have had ZERO interested players contact me. It’s extremely frustrating, inefficient, and unhelpful for everyone. It’s such a mess that people don’t even bother reading threads.

At a very minimal it should be split up between EU/NA or GLF/LFG.

Yeah they need to separate them out again.

I will say though, you are looking for two things that counter each other: 1) close knit and 2) active all times of the day. Usually to keep a guild close knit it needs to be smaller, and to have a guild active all day long you need hundreds of members (which then becomes impersonal), so you most likely won’t find a guild that has both.
